Stupid track counter tri

There have been others threads here about the Micro's odd track count behavior. If you check the track count under the Information menu, it will likely be different than the count visible in the Now Playing screen if you select Random Play All.
I've grown use to this "issue" and no one seems to have an explanation for it. But while browsing around the menus today, under Playlists, I selected the item Individually Selected Songs, which appears to be a listing of all of my Micro's tunes. After selecting this item, the Now Playing screen listed the same number of songs as the Information item does. I then switched back to the Random Play All feature and the Now Playing counter was back to reflecting about 25 songs fewer than are actually on the player.
Can anyone at Creative tell us why this happens?

When you are in play mode on your pod,if you press the centre button this changes the modes between volume,slide bar,A/W screen and the 5 dots.These incidentally are for rating the song with stars(as on iTunes).If you scroll round the click wheel as though searching song lists it replaces the dot with a nice big blue star.Cool!This will also update in your iTunes on the PC.

Track counts at High Res...

I'm interested in what sort of track counts people are getting with high res (24bit 88.2kHz) projects?
Have recently been mixing a project that got up to around 40 tracks and it seemed to be the limit for the disk i/o. the processors were barely working but it was totally choking trying to load up the next set of files as the song progressed.
We're running a dual g5 1.8 with 2.25 gigs of ram. Hard drive is FW 800 raid array.
Guess it could be an issue of getting more ram but a FW 800 should be fast enough for this...

exceed this on a PowerMac G4, recording to 1 disk, at
a higher SR. Of course, writing requires more work
than reading. it makes me wonder if you are recording
to your system drive, or if your free disk space is
limited or highly fragmented.

Logic Express on MBP 2.2 to Logic Pro or Wait? Track count? 720 RPM drive?

Just a few easy questions, some of which I am sure have been asked but didn't find with search.
Wondering if I should upgrade to Logic Pro or wait until after Leapord? As their is some speculation the FCP is going to come out (NEW) and be very, VERY Apple like, not like iMovie, (he said, and saw), but nonetheless very VERY Apple like for FCP, so wondering how far Logic is. Also, how many times can you install LP?
Right now everything from Storm Drum FX EXtreme, EWQL SO, VLS, etc, are all on PC and I still don't use the PC that much and am hoping new LOGIC include a great drum machine.
II. Anyone know what track counts you can expect with off the shelf MBP 2.2 and plug ins? (Soft Synths)?
III. Has anyone upgrade their HD to 7200? If so, more or less batter life? Any real world difference besides boot up time in AUDIO work advantages?

Now see, this is what I was afraid of. (LOL), I have built PC's for a long time and was always under the impression having a 7200 RPM System drive is fine and these days so fast with eSata that on a MBP 2.2 (which is what I have - someone asked what I was using, or did they mean software), that is should be plenty fast enough, just wondering though for samples, BFD, DrumCore, VSL, etc if those should go on a firewire.
I also use Absysnth (if this is what you mean (other poster), Nuendo, FC Express, SX3, Logic E, Reason, ......
Two scenarios:
Music=Mine, Drum machine, really like the Addictive (also have and Drumcore) as well as have Groove Agent, Storm Drum, (No storm drum yet or FX Extreme for Intel, let alone EWQLSO?), bass, guitar, vocals.
Scenario II. Scoring Trailers:
Soft Synth, Samplers (EWQL/VSL), Reason, Absynth.
Most of the time I could do this on a old system equal to first duo on PC on the system disc, although I had 4 HD's. The Firewire is Mackie 400F, which also has a firewire, (extra) that I have plugged a digital cam cord AND up popped iDVD, iMovie, also have FCP.
But it's interesting that the two responses I got one said much better performance, the other not.
So, are we using in the new 2.2 (LED) eSata)? Is the a 32 slot for the MBP for eSata HD? Isn't this supposed to be the fastest?

Track count

I have the following set-up: powerbook G4 1.67Ghz,2gig ram, motu 828mkII fw 400 interface, owc fw800 600 gig raid array outboard hard drive, Logic 7.2 and I need to know what kind of track count,recording live audio, can I expect at 24bit 48Khz ... are there known issues regarding the fw bus (using both the fw 400 and fw 800 bus connections on my powerbook)? Should I "daisy chain" the motu 828 and the hard drive to expand the track count?...thanks for any help...I need to be able to ***** this situation before I am forced to upgrade my laptop to a macbook pro for a few thousand dollars...

I'm using a g5 quad with 2.5gb of ram. So far I've got 24 garritan instrument tracks running and the computer is not even breaking a sweat....So it is nice to not have to worry about track count-----that is what the g5 quad has done for me.......on a separate note---I use the ibook g4 with 512ram to play live---I get about 10 - 15 instrument tracks before overload----but the ibook g4 has a slower harddrive and we are only talking 512ram with a single g4 proccessor I think you will be pleased with your upgrade----good luck...

Smart Playlists and Track Count

Don't think this is possible - but is there anyway to access the track count field within the the smart playlist system (not the track number).
I'm tidying up my data and want a playlist which contains music without a set track count.

I have a very similar set of playlists and noticed that they have stopped working recently - I assumed that the 3.0 upgrage did it. Its very annoying, and I might end up reverting to the 2.x sofware if possible, becuase that feature is more important to me than the 3.0 imprivements...
iPhones also won't let you create folders of playlists or refer to folders in playlists. I was hoping they would at last include that functionality in 3.0, but it looks like they've taken a step backwards instead.

I have a stupid error when trying to re-install itunes

after having an error with the apple mobile device support (1067) it wiped all apple programs from my computer and tried a re-install well i keep getting this error now im stuck with an ipad 2 and ipod that cant be synced at all.. and fyi i am not going to wipe my pc clean for some pos software.

These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
c. Perform the following actions
i. Right Click on Components Folder
ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
iv. Select Advanced Button
v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
ix. Select Apply
x. Select Apply again
xi. Exit the Registry Editor
Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time?
If you're still getting the 1067 after that, try uninstalling any MegaUpload software on the PC. Does AMDS launch correctly now?

Stupid word count problem

Idea of the code is to count the number of times "hat" is typed into the console. When the program sees "PERIOD" it is supposed to end and print out how many times it saw "hat".
here is what I have:

The problem with your code is that each time you invoke keyboard.next(), you jump to the next token. If the input is
hat hat hat
PERIOD
then first hat will be checked if it matches "PERIOD", it does not so the while loop continues. You invoke again keyboard.next() and your token is the second hat. As it matches "hat" your count is now =1.
Again keyboard.next() is invoked in while loop, the current token is the third hat. It does not match PERIOD so we go into the loop and here again keyboard.next() is invoked so our token is PERIOD. It does not match with hat so no incrementing in count. As you can see the app didnt stop because the code is problematic.
use while(keyboard.hasNext()) which iterates you thru every token and then take each token with keyboard.next(). Later see if it matches with "hat" or "period". I'm sure that'll help.

Time Capsule with BT Home Hub - 9 hours of trying to set up and counting...

Hi...I am at my wits end having spent two long evenings trying simply to connect a Time Capsule to an iMac. We have pored over the instructions, read all the postings in all the forums, probably in the entire world (OK, slight exaggeration) and tried every possible combination, and still we end up with a non-responsive Time Capsule (blinking amber light), and the Airport software saying "Waiting for the Time Capsule to restart" in a perpetual loop. The issues may well be around compatibility with the BT Home HUb, but there again they may not. There are no clues about why it fails so consistently in every combination. For the record, these are the combinations we have so far tried: ethernet connection from WAN port on TC to Ethernet port on Home Hub...A wired connection is established successfully. But then immediately the wireless connection wizard starts up, we can't turn it off, and the wireless connection wizard fails. We have tried it in all three combinations of the Wireless wizard. The end result is always the above, the blinking amber light.
We have tried adding the TC without any ethernet connection being involved in the first place. This was the most promising, we actually finally got a green light on the TC itself, but, crucially, NOT in the Airport software: that just hung in the same perpetual loop saying "waiting for Time capsule to restart", even though it CLEARLY HAD RESTARTED (because it gave us the green light). So, after about 9 hours and counting trying to get this "out of the box" solution simply to be recognised by a Mac computer, let alone connected to any other devices in the house (heaven forbid), we are now at our wit's end. Does anyone have any advice?

hi cprelude, I have the same or nearly the setup as you a BT HH V1 and a 500gb timecapsule this is hardwired to bt hh and works well so fear not it can be resolved. first hold the reset button on the HH with the TC disconnected, then while the HH is restarting unplug the TC for a couple of mins then replug inyour TC with the reset switch at the rear pushed in and then let the TC restart and plug in the ethernet cable to thr HH then use Airport utility to connect to the TC. then if all goes well you can set up two wireless networks first being the HH and the second the TC 5ghz. if I was you I would do the first backup on TC via ethernet as the first wireless backup can take hours and hours depending on the amount GBs you already have on your hard drive

This morning my 1phone 5s is not responding it shows the connection lead and the itunes symbol on the screen. I have tried pressing the home and power separtely for over 10 secs, and have pressed them together for over 12 secs, and there is no response.

Can someone explain how the visit count works? Why would it say I visited a site over 600 times? Anyone know how this counts these visits?

I'm trying to do a detailed log of my computer history. Most of the sites I visited have a visit count of 1, but then I will come across a page that will list 77 or 683 as the visit count. Just wondering if someone can explain how this tracker counts the visits and over what duration of time. Is there a way I can look this up myself?

The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

Cannot preview tracks in iTunes store or playback library tracks

I am running Vista and this is a problem that has only recently started. When I try to preview songs in the iTunes Store or play back a track from my library it won't play. The song comes up on the info bar at the top but it won't play. It's not just a sound issue either as the track counter/playhead (whatever its called!!) doesn't move.
I have tried all the suggestions on the support pages but to no avail. Anyone got any other suggestions??

Not sure if you are still having this problem, or if you are still tracking this thread...I have just solved the problem on my machine using a suggestion in another post - get the latest version of QuickTime. Fixed it.

Delete lyrics from all tracks at once?

That's easy with a simple script. Save the text below in a file with extension ".vbs", then double-click to run it. It will remove the lyrics from EVERY track in your iTunes Library.
You should really backup your iTunes Library before running this, just in case.

Email tracking app

We are developing an email tracking application to identify number of times an email is opened
Following are the steps what we are doing to achieve this
- 1. we embedded a tracking url while
sending an email, which get called at the recipient location 2.
This helps us to track the number times the email open count in our node server which sits in our Data Center DMZ
Issue : The tracking URL also called when the sender of the email tries to open his / her email from sent items
folder, so the tracking count increases (need a solution for this)
ThaScenario 2 - The embedded URL gets called everytime the recipient opens the mail, so we get the count
Issue : the URL also gets called when the user clicks on reply / reply all / forward, the email count increases
this should not happen as well need a solution for this as well

Did you develop a Mail App or an Outlook Add-in?
According to your description, I think the behavior is expected since the embedded URL will be called when displaying the content (reply and forward will also include the original message).
To track the message you sent in Outlook, I think you can achieve it through
Get delivery and read receipt confirmations.

Creative Zen Vision M:30Gb freeze problem skipping between tracks

Hi guys,
I bought my Zen Vision M:30GB 2 years ago. It was a regenerated model by Creative.
I'm fully satisfied of this product, i think the best of his category, but It has this problem since two years...Sometimes when i skip between mp3s (especially in random mode) it freezes and remains on the screen of current mp3, blocked...even I try to touch all buttons it doesn't unblock and i have to reset with a clip in the reset hole.
I've noticed that this problem comes especially when i use random mode of entire library (about 4000 songs) or however with a long playlist...it doesn't happen when i listen a single album (about 20 mp3s in playlist)
Sincerely i'm a little bored ...
I tried to do some clean and format up by the system menu, but the problem persists...
I've also thinked the problem could be because there are in library mp3 with variant bitrate...or a physical problem (I hope not)
What do you think of?

The battery will only last about 3yrs regardless of use.You will need to change it. Did you scroll down to see the album,picture,track counts? How can I stop my MacBook's iTunes from asking if I want to delete tracks each time I press to play one? Is it a bug from iTunes's version 11.0.5?
Since I dowloaded and installed iTunes' version 11.0.5 on my MacBook, it is behaving strangely:
- displaying an alert message asing if I want to delete tracks each time I press to play one
- not playing tracks in the order they're displayed in my library, sometimes jumping from one playlist to the other
I did check my settings and preferences for playing tracks and tried changing some parameters in them, however it still doesn't help.
It seems to be a bug in iTunes' version 11.0.5 — if you had a similar experience and found how to solve this discomfort, thanks for contacting me.

Oui, je parle français. En fait, il semble qu'Apple ait résolu le problème auquel j'étais confronté car ce problème a disparu suite à la mise à jour logicielle d'après (désormais sous Mavericks).
(It seems Apple solved the problem I was facing since this problem disappeared after I updated my software to/under Mavericks).
