Stutter after cuts

Surely this is a problem addressed here long ago, but pardon my newness to the board!
I find that when making music videos (usually just me and guitar) with multiple angles, often after I';ve cut from one angle to the next there will be a split-second of frozen action and then the video will "snap" into action. (Audio not affected.)
I'm not dead sure of this yet, but there seems to be some pattern: the more radical the change in light values or action-per-frame speed between clips, the more likely I am to get that stutter.
Insufficient memory, maybe? I'm running OSX10.4.9 with a1G of Memory. Any ideas out there?

  • Score Editor doesn't display region after cut

    Hello, after cutting a small section between locators in the Piano Roll I changed to the Score Editor view.
    It will not show the bars after the cut, although the piece plays merrily on ! I moved the playhead to a part after the cut, but still no luck.
    How can I change this ?
    Kay.

    Maybe.... select the two regions at same time... or... Double click on the score window ... but in any case the score is related to the region size.

  • Stutter after burning blu ray and during viewing in encore

    i changed one effect in the project in premiere and i noticed it stutters at that spot in encore as well as after i burn it on blu ray can anyone help ?

    A Cross-Dissolve is actually a Transition, and not an Effect. If you get a "stutter" with a Transition, it is very likely because you did not have adequate Handles in you Clips. The Help files will offer more info, but these will get you started:
    Hope that this helps, and good luck,

  • Images still there after cutting (razor tool)

    I've used the razor tool to cut out some frames from a single video track.  This creates two tracks, which I've pushed together. I then applied the video transition affect cross dissolve.   I noticed that only in the dissolve, the cut frames were bleeding through some how.  After removing the dissolve and expanding one of the two video tracks, I can see the cut frames are still there.  The razor tool didn't do anything different than if I had just manually compressed the track (grabbed edge and slid back).  I can't find any info in the help about this behavior.
    What am I doing wrong that these frames are still present?

    Great news!
    Once one has fought Handles for the first time, it will become second nature.
    One thing that also throws people is when they have used the Razor to "cut" the Video. In the days of film, if one used the splicing block, the Frames were physically cut off. With an non-destructive NLE, like PrPro, those Frames are NOT cut off. They are still there in the source video in the Project Panel, and what one has on the Timeline is but a set of instructions. Add the Transition and the instructions are rewritten to read "OK, he needs more of those Frames for his Transition - go get 'em."
    Now something else, very similar, that can be a tripping point is when one Trims Clips, Exports those as an AV file and Imports then into another Project/Sequence. All Handles are now gone, unlike having used the Razor. They are no longer there. This is something to consider, if one is Exporting for later Import, or if they are using the Project Manager, and choosing to Trim Clips. If any later editing will be done, involving Transitions, then use the option to Include Handles.
    Good luck,

  • Photos gone after cut and paste

    Hi,
    I had a problem with my iphone 6 when I tried to cut and paste photos from iphone to my windows 8 PC. At first I tried 1 photo, and it worked properly, yet when I cut and paste a bunch of photos (around 50 of them) onto my pc, I realized about half of the photos were missing. Then I used ctrl+z to see if the missing photos would come back. Unfortunately, the missing photos weren't back, and the ones that were originally successfully transferred to my pc were also missing as well (after ctrl+z). So now I have no photos left.  Are there any ways of recovery?

    I suggfest not using cut and paste - merge events by dragging one ot the other or selecting them and using the merge events command
    and be extremely careful about going inside the iPhoto library - the slightest error can damage your library and cause data loss

  • Dreamweaver cs3 crashed after cute ftp installation

    Hi Guys!
    After i've installed the cute ftp program an error has occured - "Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    Deleting the WinFileCache-.... didn't worked.
    What should i do?
    Thanks in advance for anyone.

    Does CuteFTP work on it's own when DW is closed?
    I too, use CuteFTP in conjunction with DW and have for many years and have never had such a problem.
    Are you doing anything specific in Cute FTP when DW crashes?

  • Laptop won't start after cutting out during an update

    Dear All,
    My laptop cut out during a software update (I think the battery died, although the screen readout said I had plenty of life left) and since then it won't start up. When I turn it on it just goes to the grey screen with the apple logo and the little circular symbol showing that it's thinking about something, the one that normally comes up before the sign-in box appears.
    I have attempted to start from my OS X installer disc 1, but after a lot of noisey chugging, nothing further happened (except that my disc is now stuck in the drive).
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hannah.singh: Both the Repair Disk routine in Disk Utility and the fsck routine that you've now run check the structure of the file system on your hard drive. In essence, they're checking to see that every item listed in the disk's invisible directory is actually where the directory says it is. Neither utility can or will alert you if a necessary file has gone missing (because, for example, an updater has deleted it and not replaced it with a new version), or if an incomplete update has left incompatible system files in place that will prevent the computer from starting up, or keep some other essential operation from being performed. These utilities aren't designed to discover whether there is actually a bootable operating system in place; they only tell you whether the disk directory matches the actual contents of the disk, and if not, whether they've been able to patch it so the two do match.
    So if you were applying an update that altered any system files before it was interrupted, it's possible that the operating system on your computer is now unusable even though the directory is in fine shape and all the hardware checks out too.
    Under the circumstances, I recommend starting up from your latest OS X installer CD/DVD and performing an Archive & Install.

  • FDK: Table duplication after cut n' paste

    Hi there
    I'm having a strange problem when cutting and pasting tables using the FrameMaker Development Kit. Basically, I'm trying to translate FM docs using a client application. The client app deletes all the text in a document, and replaces it with its translated equivalent. Unfortunately, this requires repositioning certain anchors if they are contained within paragraphs, because if an anchor is at the end of a paragraph, the deletion of text will move it to the start of the paragraph, and then when we add translations, the new text will be placed after the anchor. So I cut and paste the anchors programmatically, and for the majority it works perfectly. However, in a couple of documents, when the paste is completed and the file is saved, I reopen the doc to find a table has been duplicated 6 or 7 times consecutively and I'm not sure why - see below:
    We calculate the table anchor's new position by keeping track of the length of the new text and any anchors which come before the table anchor. The fact that the first of the multiple anchors is in the right location tells me I'm doing something right, but I need to resolve this issue completely as it causes serious headaches for our customers. Any insight would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
    This is a breath of fresh air. I was beginning to think that I didn't know the things I thought I knew.
    First, a brief addition to my previous post about offsets, because it looks a bit jumbled to me this morning. Maybe you have already gotten all this down, but anyway... an F_TextRangeT structure defines a selection in the document, based simply on the beginning of the selection and the end. A selection must begin in some paragraph and end in some paragraph (except for special situations like table cell selection, graphics, etc.). Furthermore it must start at some character and end at some character. In the structure, the beg.objId and beg.offset define the beginning, where objId is the beginning FO_Pgf ID. The end members represent the end. An offset of zero indicates the position just before the first character, incrementing from there. So, if you have something like:
    tr.beg.objId = tr.end.objId = 123;
    tr.beg.offset = 0;
    tr.end.offset = 1;
    ...the first character of paragraph 123 is selected. If you had:
    tr.beg.objId = 123;
    tr.end.objId = 456;
    tr.beg.offset = 0;
    tr.end.offset = 5;
    ...the selection spans from the beginning of paragraph 123 through the 5th character of paragraph 456. In keeping with this logic, when para IDs and offsets are the same, there is no selection span, just an insertion point (blinking cursor), like someone just clicked somewhere.
    When you F_ApiGetTextRange(... FP_TextSelection), you are populating an F_TextRangeT structure with whatever is in the document currently. When you F_ApiSetTextRange(), you are emulating actual user behavior of selecting text. If you F_ApiSetTextRange and then exit your program, you'll see the selection in the document just like someone had used the mouse.
    OK. I feel better about that now
    So, onto the issues at hand...
    I'm not sure why decrementing the offset is moving the tables back to the correct paragraphs. Here is a theory, though, might be complete bull.... when you cut the table out, it reduces the character length of the paragraph by one (noting that when text symbols are showing, a table anchor counts as a character for the offset, even though in the GUI it seems to take up zero space). So, perhaps then the paste action is actually pasting it to the right of the paragraph mark instead of the left, causing the table to drop to the next paragraph somehow. I'm not completely confident on this theory because I would have expected the paste to fail if your textrange was bogus, but I'll bet either way that adjustment is making something valid, or more valid than it was before. It would take a good bit of experimentation to figure out why.
    For the second issue - there is no such thing as a table that cannot be moved (we sing a song in church, "I Shall Not Be Moved", but the offering table is conspicuously silent). The FE_BadSelectionForOperation is very straight-forward... your text selection for the cut is no good. Looking at this more closely... I have a idea how to fix this.
    You have that F_ApiMakeTblSelection() call which should be reliable, however this function will not actually select the anchor of a table. It *should* select all the cells, but this is not the same thing as selecting the anchor. Then, F_ApiCut() with FF_CUT_TBL_CELLS *should* cut the whole table with the anchor, but I would personally not trust that. Might I suggest this... remove that whole conditional altogether and stick with the routine that sets up the text range from scratch. If I were to cut out a table, this is what I would do because it really is the anchor I want, not a complicated cell selection. That is:
        if (textRange.beg.offset != a.m_nOffset)
            textRange.end.objId = textRange.beg.objId;
            textRange.end.offset = textRange.beg.offset+1;
            // Select the object
            if (a.m_nObjectType == FO_Tbl)
                F_ApiMakeTblSelection(m_hDocument, hAnchor, FF_SELECT_WHOLE_TABLE, 0, 0, 0);
            else
                F_ApiSetTextRange(FV_SessionId, m_hDocument, FP_TextSelection, &textRange);
    becomes:
        if (textRange.beg.offset != a.m_nOffset)
            textRange.end.objId = textRange.beg.objId;
            textRange.end.offset = textRange.beg.offset+1;
            F_ApiSetTextRange(FV_SessionId, m_hDocument, FP_TextSelection, &textRange);
    I would bet dollars to donuts that this will solve the selection/cut problem.
    If it turns out that I am short on donuts and it still fails, consider doing this. If the cut still fails, instead of attempting to paste the clipboard, do an experiment with something like this to add some text, then maybe you can see where the selection actually is:
    F_ApiAddText(m_hDocument, &textRange.beg, "SELECTION IS HERE!");
    Hopefully, you won't need to go there, but if you continue to have problems, that's probably the road you'll need to go down. Somehow, you'll need to figure out why the selection is bogus and/or where it actually is. However, because you are deriving the paragraph IDs and original offset from the table object itself (assuming the object is valid), the textRange setup should be 100% reliable. Skip the FF_SELECT_WHOLE_TABLE part.
    If you need to validate that your table object ID is valid, you can call:
    F_ApiGetObjectType(m_hDocument, mAnchor)
    ...and ensure that the return is FO_Tbl. This is what the code probably should have done originally, rather than attempting to store the object type as m_nObjectType in the vector.
    Other things:
    - You shouldn't need to worry about the clipboard. If the cut works, it is ready for the paste, just like manual GUI usage.
    - You might want to set up a routine that ensures that your offsets are within the actual lengths of the respective paragraphs. You can do this by selecting an entire paragraph using end.offset = FV_OBJ_END_OFFSET, then doing an F_ApiGetTextRange to retrieve the selection again using a separate structure. The new end.offset will come back as the actual end of the paragraph, allowing you to see if your original offset was out of range. Note that this selection process will slow things down, though. Maybe there is a better way but that's the only way I know how. I do know, however, that you somehow want to be sure that your offsets are within a valid range. I think that was the cause of your "next paragraph" problems.
    That's a whole lot of stuff, but I am confident now that we will figure this out soon. Keep me posted.

  • Recover videos from iphone after cut and paste from windows explorer?

    From windows explorer Iphone Internal Storage, I used cut to transfer 2 big videos from iphone to windows, but the videos are corrupted now in windows, and no videos in iphone! There is any way to recover them? thanks...

    When you came across this case, you should be careful to recover Video on iPhone.
    1. Fish your iPhone out of the water as quickly as possible.
    2. Dry it off with a towel or something similar. If it is still on, turn it off immediately. Note: running power through wet electronics can damage them beyond repair.
    3. Remove the battery, SIM card etc off the phone. If possible, remove the rear glass panel too. Apple uses two special 5-point Pentalobe screws to secure the back.
    4. Grab a bowl and fill it with uncooked rice or you can also put your iPhone 5 in with a bunch of silica packets.
    5. Bury the iPhone in a bowl of rice and cover it up.
    6. Last step is: wait day or two.
    The google+ teach you how to recover video from iPhone: https://plus.google.com/106752978783334975190/posts/RL9EhQcLgEx
    After this, you may chech your iPhone, if it is damaged, you should recover lost file from iPhone, it may be recover, if you are lucky.

  • 2nd Gen Apple TV - movies start to stutter after approx 10 minutes

    Hi - i've been using the 1st gen Apple TV without problems for years and just switched to the new model. I am running a wired network connected to an apple airport extreme router. Everything works fine with the old apple TV but when i try to watch local iTunes content with the new apple TV, the content start to stutter like crazy after approximately 10 to 15 minutes. When i plug in the old apple TV and try to play the same content, everything works like a charm. So it must be something related to the new model and has nothing to do with my setup, which works perfectly with the old device.
    I've noted that the stutter seems to start as soon or shortly after the whole movie has been fully "cached" onto the device. When this happens i have to jump out of the movie, pick it again and then i can watch just fine until the whole movie has loaded again and the whole stuttering problem starts again.
    This is driving me nuts. I've gone back to the old device until Apple can fix the problem. Does anyone have the same issues ?
    Thanks
    Marc

  • FrameMaker 10 Crashes when saving file after cut & paste

    FrameMaker consistantly crashes, everytime, when doing a save file after doing a cut and paste of table data from one open FrameMaker file to another. This only happens with a specific table. I have had this happen consistantly over the past year with various docs and table data. Usually it occurs when trying to cut & paste data that has edit tacking turned on, but in this instance this is not the case. FrameMaker is fully up to date. Running WINXP
    Internal Error 10024, 6379539, 6372417, 6385921, FrameMaker has detected a serious problem and must quit.

    > This only happens with a specific table.
    If you can isolate the trigger factor, that would enable two things:
    1. other FM users, some with Support, could confirm and re-report,
    2. Adobe would be able to find the root cause quicker.
    Is it a specific Table Catalog table, regardless of content, or
    specific table content regardless of table format?
    Possibly unrelated anecdote ... as I've mentioned, when we get Err7103
    crashes, it's often well after the real damage has already happened.
    We have seen cases where huge sections of a document appear to
    vanish. In at least one instance, the content did not disappear.
    It got moved into a table cell, and was largely invisible.
    I can imagine that hidden table structures of sufficient complexity,
    or sufficient degeneracy (e.g. unbalanced tags, garbage structs,
    containing cross-refs to self*), could make the document unstable.
    * When the size of the .fm file increases with every save (and no
    changes), circular cross-refs are a likely cause.

  • Unwanted freeze frame after cutting out clip

    I have a video clip I want to cut a bit out of. I split the playhead (Apple-T) before and after the bit I want to remove, remove the bit I don't want, and join the remaining clips together.
    When I play the movie back, the last frame before the cut freezes on the screen for a few seconds, covering the first part of the clip after the cut.
    When I scroll the playhead (using the arrow keys), the video looks normal. I only see the frozen frame when I play it.
    I've tried adding a transistion, but the frozen frame pops up after the transition. I've added black space, but the frozen frame appears after the black space.
    The audio either plays normally or stutters a bit.
    This doesn't happen all the time, but I'd like to know how to fix or prevent it.
    Thanks,
    Rob
    iMac 2Ghz Intel Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    If all else fails I'd select the offending clip and maybe also the neighbouring clips and export them as Full Quality DV and import it back. If that single concatenated clip plays OK you could delete the duplicates.
    If also that fails, I'd re-import the offending clip from tape.
    If also that fails, I'd start regular troubleshooting about some more widespread problem.

  • Encrypted Pictures not readable after cut and past on my laptop

    Hi,
    I have cut and past my pictures from my BB Bold ans as they are encrypted (.rem) I cannot open the files in windows.
    I see after that i have to use desktop manager to move the files and uncrypted them.
    But now when i tried to move again the file ot my BB, the files are not recognized by the terminal ..
    do you know if a method exist to be able to recover the pictures ?
    thanks in advance for your help and support

    If I read you correctly, you are describing the performance of BBOS and content protection (encryption) and not a malfunction.
    Here is some information that should help you.
    - if you copy and paste a file that is encrypted, it remains encrypted, as you found
    - if the file is encrypted (.rem extension) and you use the desktop software to copy or sync, the copied file on the computer is not encrypted, as you found
    - when you enable encryption, the files that are already on the SD card remain unencrypted, and only files that are written or modified after encryption is enabled will be encrypted (again, this is BBOS)
    - I'm not sure about files in device storage memory, so you will need to test unless you look it up or someone answers, but I'm assuming when you enable content protection all of the files in this location will be encrypted
    - for files that are encrypted (have .rem extension) if you disable content protection and then act on the file, the encryption will be undone (and .rem extension removed) -- acting on the file can be moving it, renaming it, etc -- and files that are encrypted and not acted upon while content protection is disabled will remain encrypted

  • CS6: Joining two clips after cutting?

    Hi,
    after razor cutting a clip (and doing other steps after it): is it possible to join the clip again?
    Or is it the only way to delete the first or the second clip and strech the other? But this would be a little circuitous.
    thanks

    This feature was added in CC,  For CS6, you'll have to delete one of the clips and extend the other.
