Stutter frames before the cut

Anyone experience a quick "stutter" in the frames after the cut? Also happens after a text title has been added. What's up with this. Using FCP 7.0.3 on a Mac with 10.7.5 OS.

Why is the green screen visible on the last frame before the next clip?

Hey guys!
Maybe I'm ******** but i m having trouble here. I have "key-ed" a bunch of clips and successfully removed the green screen from them. But when placed in the timeline, the green screen of the clip reappears for the single frame before a next clip starts.
I've re-rendered and chopped ends off but the green screen keeps appearing in the last frame of any keyed clip that is about to cut to a different clip.
Where am i going wrong?

Hey! I tried both suggestions but even the self contained quicktime file has the green screen frames popping up.
I just dont get it, it's infuriating!
I used "chroma keyer" effect on the clip, only enable "key on saturation", the green screen disappears, I place clip on V2 and image on V1. Image is then visible where the green screen was. All is well until the last frame before a next clip because on that ast frame the green screen appears again. Where am I going wrong? Please help!

My time Frame indicator stops one frame before the end...?

Basically what the header says, which means every rendering I do is putting a black frame at the end of everything, so, for example, doing a Vine loop vid effect is proving impossible, because of the black frame it puts at the end of everything.
Any help please for this novice, would be greatly appreciated, its driving me crazy, hope it/s something simple.

There is nothing wrong. AE operates on genuine time and a discrete frame is sampled at its temporal entry point. and nothing stops you from creating perfect loops, you just need to understand this little thing.

Dropping Frames before Each Cut in Playback

Hey all. I'm working with new HD footage shot on a Canon EOS 7D camera. The footage looks awesome, but I'm having trouble with playback. The clips themselves play fine with no dropped frames, but I'm getting the dropped frames error message at EVERY cut on the timeline. I'm working off of a media dedicated external harddrive with firewire 800. It's nowhere near capacity. And my machine is 2.4GHz & 4GB ram. I expect there might be some dropped frames here and there considering the size of the footage, but this seems to be a bigger problem.
I've tried all of the suggestions that I've come across. Does anyone have any ideas?

Shane's Stock Answer #28: When I put a clip in the timline, I have to render it before it will play. Why?
Your clip settings MUST match your timeline settings. If you have DV/NTSC material, you need a DV/NTSC timeline. The frame rate, audio rate and dimensions (4:3, 16:9) all need to match exactly. In Final Cut Pro 6, this is easy, because when you drop a clip into the timeline, it asks if you want to set up the timeline to match the settings of the first clip you drag into it. Click YES and you are ready to go.
However, in FCP 5.1 and earlier, it is a bit trickier.
The most important thing you need to do is properly set up your project from the start, and the best way to do this is to choose a setting from the Easy Setups, located under the Final Cut Pro menu.
Once you do this, you’ll need to create a new sequence. This is because the sequence that is already in your new project is setup for the typical default setting of DV/NTSC, or for the settings of your last project, which might not match what you are currently working with. So delete SEQUENCE 1 and create a new sequence:
This new sequence will contain the settings you chose in the Easy Setup menu, and should match the format you captured.

Why is the position of I frame BEFORE scene changes not after?
And, why doesn't MovieVideoChart show any I frames other than those that correspond to periodic "key frames every X frames"? Is it reading meta data and not really showing where the real existing I frames are located? I.e. WYSIAL (what you see is a lie)? If so, where can I get an affordable tool that will let me examine my files in this regard?
I have put compression and chapter marks at scene changes in FCP and have exported with markers for DVDSP (both chapter and compression).
I have read on this forum (somewhere) that when insert key frames every X frames is selected, Compressor is still going to insert key frames automatically at key frames.
When I last encoded with H.264 in Compressor, I selected option to insert I key frame every 90 frames (fps=29.97).
When I jump to chapter in my encoded video, where I had place a key frame at a cut, I end up with a chapter at the frame BEFORE the cut.
I will try moving my chapter/compression marks a frame ahead and see if that helps.
Certainly, others must have been plagued by this problem.
When encoding with MPEG2 for DVD, the same thing happens.
It is a real problem. I get one frame appearing before the cut in chapter skips.
Hope someone can illuminate this problem.

As you have seen, RoboHelp doesn't understand how to create the layers you are wanting to achieve the effect in Word. It simply brings the images in as separate objects.
Basically there are two approaches you might consider.
You could insert Positioned Text Boxes and configure them to present the images as you want. If you take this approach, you will likely find yourself struggling to maintain the positioning consistently as well as noticing text flow issues. Personally, I'd avoid that approach.
The other approach involves displaying the images in your Word document so that you see them as intended, then screen capture so you grab the combined image. Then save that combined image and use it instead of the separate images in RoboHelp. This is the approach I'd suggest and that I use myself.

Final Cut Pro 7 exporting adds frames before transitions.

When I export a movie from my sequence the movie adds one or two blank black frames before the transition starts. It does not happen when I render the video out and watch it (preview). It only happens when I export the movie. There are NO breaks in my time code and every video has plenty if handles on either side. Any ideas on how to fix this or why it is happening would be greatly appreciated!
Key Points - Only happens when I export the movie and never when I am previewing it. There are NO breaks in my time code.

Thanks, it was actually a mixture of your two questions let allowed me to figure the issue out. I was exporting it at 25FPS while the sequence setting was at 30FPS. I bumped up the export setting to the 30FPS and it plays through the transitions just fine.

Script works in one frame, but not with frames before it

Hi all-
I'm a complete AS/Flash n00b, but hoping that I can get some guidance on this.
I'm trying to test a very simple function for an e-learning module that is to train people on using 'quick keys' or key combinations on their keyboard. Basically, I want to show them a command and have them practice. In the practice, they will be asked to use a command and then have to do it on their keyboard.
I used the code below successfully with one frame and a couple layers. I created a text-area ("traceArea), put it on the stage, set up the event and function... it works great! (although I'm sure the code isn't very pretty) When anything other than ctrl-p is pressed, it traces the "Try again!" message and when ctrl-p is pressed, "Great job!" pops up.

So, then I tried to build on to the file and added two frames before the previous AS code.

Frame 2 - Instructions

The last frame is then the 'practice' (see first code above).
When I run this file, there are no errors, but when it gets to that last frame, nothing is traced and there is no output on any keyboard command. I know the solution must be pretty easy, but I'm missing it and have no idea what it might be!

AS3 code not working if i add a scene before the as3 code scene

I have an Actionscript coded flash file which run perfectly without any error.
I am not getting why it shows an error after i do insert a scene before or a frame before the current frames;
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

I have all code on same frame, all movie clips on same frame and all movie clips instance names are correct. My code is working fine if I do not move all frames to Frame2. but i need to move all these frames to Frame 2 so that i can add preloader.
After debugging I got that its stopping at following action;
Object(this).movie01_mc.movie01child_mc.visible = false;
I tried it making;
Object(root).movie01_mc.movie01child_mc.visible = false;
but no use.
Is it necessary to have all of it in first scenes first frame?

Playback a little before the location of the play head.

Well I edited something in Multi-cam.
Now I want to go over each cut (using UP/DOWN keys) and hit space to see if the cut is good.
the only trouble is that each time I press an up/down key to skip to next cut - I need to take the mouse and place the play-head a little bit before the cut to see if the transition between the two clips is good.
My question is:
Is there any possible key shortcut to play a little before the actual place Im standing with the play-head on the time line?

Trying to export a video and the frame keeps getting cut

I'm trying to export a video and the frame keeps getting cut. I've tried exporting it as a flattened movie through export - QT - "current settings" and through QT conversion, making to sure set the "size" as 720 x 480 ( my sequence presets are as follows: 720 x 480, DVCPRO50) but the default " current size" seems to be set at 640 x 480 and that's how it is exporting it. I must be missing something, I've never had this happen to me before... Any ideas? Maybe I should try trashing the preferences, usually what I do when I'm out of options...Thanks,

I just tested a bunch of stuff and the only way it would export correctly was by choosing "none" in the compression dialog box from the export to qt menu. weird hunh?

Freeze Frame at the end of cuts

I am getting a quick freeze at the end of each cut that I make in iMovie 11. I can't get anything to just cut straight to the next shot without a slight hold. Has anyone else had this problem?

Is there a chance your source footage has the same white frame before you encode it? I've never seen this problem.
As far as flip4mac, there is a work around in the current version to avoid the green monster. With a Two Pass VBR Constrained, set your Peak Bit Rate to 1.5x. This makes your encode closer to a CBR, but eliminates the compression artifacts. Also in the advanced settings, a shorter Key Frame frequency will improve overall quality.
Sorry I'm not more help with the white frame. What version of Compressor are you using? I've done close to 100 encodes in the last month and haven't encountered this. What are your source files? Quicktime out of FCP? Reference files?

My songs on itunes are cutting off around 30 seconds before the end, how do i stop it from doing this?

it started off with only some doing it but more and more seem to cut off before the end of the song and its really annoying i dont know why its doing it and i cant figure out how to stop it does anyone have the answer?

I don't know, Maybe Office 2008 doesn't play nice with Lion. Was 2008 working previously with Lion? Did you have these problems with Snow Leopard?

All I can suggest is uninstalling and starting over with a fresh installation.
Alternatively don't use Office at all. Instead use one of the Office substitues that supports Word documents (OpenOffice, LibreOffice, NeoOffice). Also there's Apple's Pages and MS Office 2011.

Songs cut 25 sec before the end - Time cursor issues

Hello !
As all for you, I've just downloaded itunes 7. No special problem until today, where I discovered two anoying (but not terrible) bugs:
1) The time cursor when playing a song is unstable. If I want to listen to a song from 2'22 minutes, i bring the cursor with the mouse at 2'22 to play. But if I clip and drag the cursor, the cursor simply keeps going backwards in time until it reaches the song starting point. I've tried it with the different views... Have you noticed it too?
2) A few of my songs are cut 25 or 30 before the end. If I bring the time cursor over the last 30 seconds of these songs, it directly goes to the next song (or even the song after the next one). This is quite annoying. I've to mention that all my song aren't gapless. I turned the fade option off. But it keeps cutting these 15-20 songs end. Does somebody have an idea about that issue??

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

The error seems pretty clear - you must have a photo in evey photo frame in order to place your order - so you must either change the layout (if you only want one photo on a page then use a layout with one photo) or put photos in the spots you have not filled
