Stuttering on stop/pause

Just trying out ST 2.01 fot the first time and find that I can’t pause or stop without hearing a little loop stuttering. Only fix is to start playback again, then stop with playhead over a silent section; that or close the project.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
dc

  • Can You Get iPod To Stop/Pause At The End Of Each Track

    I really need my iPod to stop/pause at the end of each track/song, but it insists on playing right through a playlist one song after another. Does anybody know if there is a way of achieving this, there doesn't seem to be anything in the manuals about this. My iPod is new and is the 60GB color screen model. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks, Peter.

    Hi boaster, is this an apple accessory, or where else will I find one? When you say there will be some manual intervention, I presume you have to press the button to actually stop it at the end of each track??
    Dave W. I've tried your suggestion and it works fine. Its also good because it keeps iPod within the correct playlist. The original suggestion of one track per playlist also works, but unfortuanatly iPod defaults to go back to the main menu at the end of every playlist so you then have to navigate back to where you need to be. Dave, it looks like your suggestion is the answer at the moment, many thanks, although would like to know more about this 'airclick' remote please. Cheers.

  • ITunes 11 will no longer rewind in stop/pause mode !

    iTunes used to be able to rewind while in stop/pause mode : alt cmd arrow left would rewind 5 seconds.
    I use it on a daily basis for transcribing music.
    Now, I suppose because of iTunes 11 (or is it Mountain Lion..?)  rewind is only possible in play mode !! (while the song is playing..)
    Is there anyone who can help me , or has a solution to fix this problem ?
    Thanks !

    Here is the log. Looks like its QT is crashing it. So, again, its either QT, or one of the Vista updates. I haven't tried to watch a movie on the computer in awhile so I have no idea what update in the past few months is causing the problem.

  • Can I stop/pause a vault update?

    Okay, I've used vaults for a while but I recently moved my library around and ended up recreating my vault. I think my library is around 250GB and it is taking FOREVER to update. I have already had to force quit Aperture a couple of times when it couldn't finish the vault update overnight, but this time I left it running on my iMac for 24 hours (so far) and it is still not complete. I just cannot wait any longer, I need to use the machine. Does anyone know ift there is a way to stop/pause the vault update and return at a later time? Obviously I can force quit Aperture, but I can't imagine force quitting in the middle results in a very reliable Vault. So, if there's any advice here I would really appreciate it. I mean, time machine can pause in the middle as can many backup apps, I just don't know if I can use something that requires over a day of continuous use to just backup my files!
    Along that same line, does anyone have any opinions on using a different backup app like Carbon Copy Cloner for my Aperture library? I've used TM in the past with poor results (it was very hard to get back the data I needed to recover). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    What Doug said.
    Note that Masters need only be backed up once (but to multiple backup locations) and that backup should happen immediately after copying to the hard drive from the camera card, before involving Aperture or any other images management app.
    Time Machine is an ongoing regular-routine backup process. Image originals instead need irregularly timed backup, once.
    IMO referenced Masters make far more sense than building huge managed-Masters Libraries.
    • Hard disk speed. Drives slow as they fill so making a drive more full (which managed Masters always does) will slow down drive operation.
    • Database size. Larger databases are by definition more prone to "issues" than smaller databases are.
    • Vaults. Larger Library means larger Vaults, and Vaults are an incremental repetitive backup process, so again larger Vaults are by definition more prone to "issues" than smaller Vaults are. One-time backup of Referenced Masters (each file small, unlike a huge managed-Masters DB) is neither incremental nor ongoing; which is by definition a more stable process.
    Managed-Masters Libraries can work, but they cannot avoid the basic database physics. I recommend putting the Library on the internal drive and keeping Masters on the external drive by reference.

  • Just downloaded the 7.1 IOS update and I'm able to stream my music from the cloud. Does this use up data and how can I get it to stop pausing for periods of time?

    Just downloaded the 7.1.1 IOS update and I'm able to stream my music from the cloud. I'm wondering how I can stream more than just my purchased music?And does this use up data? Also, how can I get playback to stop pausing for periods of time? It is a wifi thing??

    If streaming music when connected to your carrier's cellular network, it uses cellular data.
    Only the music you purchased from the iTunes Store can be streamed unless you have purchased iTunes Match.
    If there is a slow down at the server where the music is stored or high traffic, steaming can be paused. You can also download a song from the iTunes Store cloud to your iPhone so it doesn't need to be steamed.

  • SWFLoader : stop/ pause / play features ?

    hi,
    I am using the SWFLoader component to play Flash files (with SWF extension).
    <mx:SWFLoader id="animation_toto" x="24" y="36" source= "toto.swf" autoLoad="true" width="657" height="164"/>
    I am able to control the start of the animation with the load() method.
    animation_toto.load();
    However, I do not see stop / pause methods to stop / pause the animation.
    (But they exist in the VideoDisplay component.)
    How do i do that ? Is there a way ?
    Thanks a lot for helping.

    Hello Zen,
    Thanks for the RecursiveStop() function tip. I tried this out in my Flex application where I have to play one movie clip after another but without success. Here is the scenario: I am using a SWFLoader class on the main application form and have set a swf path. On application initialization, I call the stop() method to the MovieClip that is loaded in my SWFLoader object.
    MovieClip(Application.application.mySwfLoader.content).stop(); // THIS WORKS
    Later on click of a button, I dynamically store the paths of the swf files that I want to play one after another into an ArrayCollection and call a function to play the first item in the ArrayCollection.
    myArrayCollection.addItem("assets/beginning_swfs/0114INSTR.swf");
    myArrayCollection.addItem("assets/beginning_swfs/0111INSTR.swf");
    myArrayCollection.addItem("assets/beginning_swfs/0201INSTR.swf");
    myArrayCollection.addItem("assets/beginning_swfs/0202INSTR.swf");
    setTimeout(PlayMovieClip, 1000);
    In the PlayMovieClip() function, I set the path of the first item (swf file) as the source of the SWFLoader object in my application, again assign the content of the SWFLoader object to a MovieClip object and add an eventlistener - Event.ENTER_FRAME along with the method checkFrame() that will be invoked when the EVENT_FRAME event is raised. After this I call the MovieClip.play() function.
    if (myArrayCollection.length == 0)
    return;
    path=String(myArrayCollection.getItemAt(0));
    trace("Starting movie: " + String(myArrayCollection.getItemAt(0)));
    Application.application.mySwfLoader.source = path;
    flashMovie=Application.application.mySwfLoader.content as MovieClip
    flashMovie.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkFrame);
    flashMovie.play();
    Now once in the checkFrame() method, I determine if the end of the MovieClip has been reached. Stop the movie if the end frame has been reached.
    if (event.target.currentFrame == event.target.totalFrames)
         trace("Stopping movie: " + String(myArrayCollection.getItemAt(0)));
         // stop the movie, call the RecursiveStop function.
         RecursiveStop(MovieClip(event.target)); //event.target cast to MovieClip
         event.target.removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkFrame);
         // Check if the array has elements in it.
         if (myArrayCollection.length != 0)
              // Remove the top most one.
              myArrayCollection.removeItemAt(0);
         // Check if there are more items in the array.
         if (myArrayCollection.length != 0)
              // Play the next file
              PlayMovieClip();
    I expect the MovieClip files (SWF) to play one after another but there is an overlap and the movies do not stop playing.
    Any help pointing what I am doing wrong or a push in the right direction is highly appreciated. I've spent at least 3 days now trying to solve this issue without success.

  • Embedded media player controls (play, stop, pause, etc.) on multiple sites will not respond in FireFox 12.0 or will only respond after multiple clicks

    I go to multiple websites that contain embedded media, such as billburr.com, tunein.com, and forums where members embed media from sites like YouTube. When attempting to access or use that media, using the available play, stop, pause, and volume control buttons, FireFox doesn't respond. For example, If I'm on billburr.com and attempt to play the podcast, I can click the play button over and over again and nothing will happen. The play button lights up like the site realizes I'm clicking it, but the media will not play, at least not the first time. I might get it to work after several fast clicks. However, if I need to pause it, I have the same trouble. These sites work perfectly in IE 9. I've already started FireFox in safe mode, but encountered the same problem. Has anyone seen this?

    That is a Flash player on the billburr<i></i>.com site.
    You can try to install the 32 bit Flash player for Firefox from this page.
    *http://www.adobe.com/special/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
    For Firefox on 64 bit Windows, you need the 32 bit Flash version version because Firefox is a 32 bit application.

    Hi,
      this action is the same with : Call_Form Built-in of Oracle Forms
    no, its not because a call form navigates to the called form module, which is comparable to a task flow call activity and not a region.
    http://imdjkoch.wordpress.com/2010/07/23/open_form-vs-call_form-vs-new_form/
    "Runs an indicated form while keeping the parent form active. Oracle Forms runs the called form with the same Runform preferences as the parent form. When the called form is exited Oracle Forms processing resumes in the calling form at the point from which you initiated the call to CALL_FORM."
    (Note: I appreciate any ADF vs. Forms comparison if technically its done correctly)
    The regions in a view load according their af:region tags and as such you wont be able to pause loading unless you use the activate condition to point to a managed bean property that returns false so that the region is not initialized.
    This is from the JavaDocs of the Class TaskFlowBindingAttributes.
    "Set of attributes that define a TaskFlowBinding object. The taskFlowList attribute of the multiTaskFlow element of the page definition uses a list of object of this type to describe each taskflowBinding that the multiTaskflow binding contains. The order of this list defines the order of the region objects in the multiTaskflow binding. "
    So adding a region does not give you a chance to stop further loading and you will have to work with not activating not yet loaded regions, which then you need to load manually.

  • Privileges to Start / Stop / Pause Tidal Master

    Hi Team,
    Please your advise on what's the minimum level of privilege in a Windows environment that a user account needs to have to be able to Stop/Start/Pause the Tidal Master.
    We think we should belong to the Administrators group to be able to action the above.
    Our Security team has raised concerns on we getting to much access into that box if we get Admin rights.
    Thanks.

    You could work with the system administrators to grant all the appropriate privileges to stop/start services using an MMC snap-in  We do that with our operations team... they can stop/start tidal services (master/agent) but they can't logon to the servers themselves. System Admins have tools for setting this up. You could also add runtime users and possibly automate.
    however, if I am responsible for Tidal Administration and application, I would want to be able to logon to the infrastructure that runs the master (or agents) it just makes sense from a troubleshooting perspective to have local access.(App logs, System Log, Event logs, etc.). But responsibilities and roles vary from company to company.
    I wasn't sure if you meant manually (above) or automated but we do some autmation of shutdown for maintenance using Tidal jobs for maintenance weekends like MS patches (using a combination of powershell and api jobs)

  • How Do I Stop/Pause Image Processor During Batch Conversion?

    I often use the Image Processor to convert folders of photos to different sizes etc.
    Once started, I have never been able to stop the process and have always had to wait until the last file has finished converting.
    There must be a simple way of pausing the process . . . . . what is it?

    There is no way to pause Image Processor!
    Sometimes it's possible to use the escape key to stop it.

  • RTMP Audo Source and Stop/Pause

    I have an RTMP audio stream that I wish to have play only when a play/stop button is pressed. As it is now the audio plays reliably I just don't want it to stop automatically when the page is pulled up but when requested. What might be the best approach to this? Thanks for any assistance one might give.
    Currently I'm using the FLVPlayback:2.5.0.6 set to is live with a play/pause button but it doesn't pause until the button is pressed to play followed by pause whereas I would much rather have it paued by default and someone has to hit play for the audio to start.

    Sorry for asking but is this related to AFCS development ?
    (i.e. are you trying to view a video stream in an AFCS enabled
    application).
    Just trying to figure out if AFCS may be involved in blocking
    the fullscreen mode.
    If you are not using AFCS, then sorry, you are in the wrong
    forum :)

    another story)

  • Animation start/stop/pause on mouseclick #2

    Hi,
    Sorry for opening a new thread -- it was probably unwise to mark my previous question "answered" and then to post a follow-up question in the very same thread and hoping for more help..
    My final goal would be to have the animation pause after the first click, then resume with the next click and so on.
    So, after successfully having started the animation on click thanks to kglad's advice, I tried adding a
    this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,stopF);
    function stopF(e:MouseEvent):void{
    this.stop();
    in order to make the animation stop on the click thereafter. This did not work when I put it all on the first frame:
    stop();
    this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,playF);
    function playF(e:MouseEvent):void{
    this.play();
    this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,stopF);
    function stopF(e:MouseEvent):void{
    this.stop();
    However, in the meantime I found out that if I put the "stop" event handler on the next frame, it stops again on the second click, as wanted. I then assumed I would be able to put a "play" event handler on frame 3 and so forth, in order to create a "pause" workaround.
    Suprisingly, the animation coul not be resumed on the third frame. Why is that? Any chance to have a "pause" functionality on click?
    Thanks again!
    PS: Here is my "code" in detail:
    on keyframe1 I have:
    stop();
    this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,playF);
    function playF(e:MouseEvent):void{
    this.play();
    Works! Then on keyframe 2:
    this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,stopF);
    function stopF(e:MouseEvent):void{
    this.stop();
    Works! But on keyframe 3:
    this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,playF);
    function playF(e:MouseEvent):void{
    this.play();
    does not work!?

    If you have new questions you are better off starting a new posting, even if they followup on something that was solved.  Postings with 0 replies get noticed.
    Just create a variable that you toggle each time you click and use that variable to determine whether to stop or play... in frame 1...
    stop();
    var stopped:Boolean = true;
    this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,playF);
    function playF(e:MouseEvent):void{
       if(stopped){
           this.play();
       } else {
           this.stop()
       stopped = !stopped;

  • Strange 1 sec stop/pause every 3 sec on Neo2

    I've got an annoying problem that is randomly showing up. The computer seems to completly stop/hang/pause for ~0.5-1 sec consequently every 3 sec. When I drag my mouse cursor slowly over the screen, I can see the pauses and hear the sound jumping in a loop, and then continue as normal...
    This error is consistent until I either restart og go into standby. It shows up randomly, and can show up at any time in game or at the desktop.
    I've tried to disable all OC features, disabled agressive timing, disabled FastWrites, disabled System Bios Cache, tried to set half memory speed.
    This does not seem to happen in neither Fedora or WinXP x64.
    I've searched the forum and googled, but nothing seems to match with my problem.
    Can anybody help me?

    Sounds like a software issue since your two other operating systems are unaffected. Try booting from your XP cd and go into the recovery console, type in "chkdsk /p". Once the system reboots, go to the run command, with your XP cd in, and type in "sfc/scannow". Also check for the following: spyware, viruses, and registry errors. Have you recently installed any new software or updated any drivers? Boot into safe mode and see if the problem exists, if not then it's probably a driver issue.

  • How do you get idvd to stop pausing and resetting the playback once burned onto a dvd?

    I created an idvd using photographs from iphoto and music from itunes and when it plays from idvd I do not notice any pausing.  When I went to burn the project onto a dvd the process took 2 hrs and then I could burn the dvds.
    When I went to watch the dvd, the pictures and music would pause at 5 mins and 54 secs resetting the time back to 0:00.  This continued everytime it reache 5:54 in the slideshow.
    Is there some way to stop this so the slideshow/pictures/music plays smoothly without the skipping?
    Kristin

    Are any of the iTunes audio track protected tracks?  That can cause problems with encoding as iDVD won't use them.
    Are you saving the project as a disk image before burning?  Doing so separates the encoding process from the burning process so you can test the disk image by mounting it and playing  with DVD Player to make sure the encoding was successful. If it's good then burn the disk image to disk with Disk Utility.   If not then you've saved a disk.
