Style standards

Hi, all,
My department is just starting to use Captivate 2, and we're
trying to create some internal style standards for creating demos.
Things like font type, color, and size, caption box color, how long
to leave a caption on screen, stuff like that. We're producing
short software demos rather than longer training simulations.
Are there any industry standards for these things to get us
started? Suggestions would be welcome as well.
Thanks!

Mark, I've created standards for many companies. Here are
some options you can consider:
1) Create a "style guide" document that details the movie
preferences, recording size, caption styles, fonts, general slide
timings, use of transitions, publishing settings, etc. Distribute
this to developers and/or maintain a copy at a central location
(web site, copy on server, etc.).
2) Create and distribute Captivate templates to the
developers with pre-defined styles and movie preferences. I suggest
including standard introduction/conclusion slides. I also suggest
including in your templates a number of slides set to "hidden" in
the properties, that contain pre-built design elements that
developers can simply copy/paste into their slides - saving
development time and ensuring standards are used. These "hidden"
slides do not appear in published movies.
3) For many clients - I create all of these design resources
- templates, buttons, images, sounds, logos, etc... and distribute
them in a installer package (i.e. InstallWise). This installer
copies all of the files into the appropriate locations on their
computers - avoiding all the manual work of the developers placing
these files in the proper location.
4) Use a Quality Review process - so that before developers
stage content to end-users - peers or a QA review team examines the
content and ensures the standards are being followed.
If you have any other questions - I'd be glad to
assist.

  • HT201269 Do I need to get a fresh Sim card?  My wife's 3G has the old style sim and my old 4 (that I am passing to her) has the micro-sim, they are different phone numbers - what do I do?

Good morning, this may sound dumb but I don't know how to to do this.
My wife currently has a iPhone 3g with her mobile number and the Sim card is the old style standard sim
I am transferring my iPhone 4 to her and that has a microsim with my number info on it.
Does this mean that I have to get a clean microsim for her or will all the data transfer from Itunes to the 'new' iP4.
Now, how do I actually go about doing it?
Do I take my sim out ot the iP4 and put it into the micro adaptor and slot it into her phone and back up from her machine, or what do I do - Please respond in technophobe (I'm an old duffer:-) )
    Uncle H

You need to get a sim sim, activated, wirh your wife's account info on it. Your carrier should give you one for free. Either that, or you cut down your wife's existing sim. If you do a Google search you'll find instructions/tools on how to do so.
After you get the sim situation straightened out, backup your wife's 3G in iTunes. Then on your 4, turn off iMessage, FaceTime, Find My Phone & delete the iCloud account. Then: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. When finished, restore from the backup you made of the 3G. Sync her content to the phone.
You should be good to go.

  • Z77A-GD65 won't post

My newly built PC wouldn't start the other day:
    Z77A-GD65 motherboard
    Core i5 3570K
    8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
    GTX 660
    Corsair TX 750W PSU
    Corsair Hydro 100i CPU Cooler
    Corsair Obsidian 650D tower
It sort of tried to power up, fans would start spinning and then 1 second later it would all power down. This cycle would continue until I switched it off at the PSU. I took a look inside and noticed that the DRMOS red LED was lighting up. The LED 1 was also flashing blue.
All the reading I did on the problem suggested either the PSU or the motherboard was on the blink, so before I RMAed the motherboard I bought a new Corsair CX 750M PSU and set the motherboard on a wooden table top with just the RAM, CPU and standard Intel cooler inserted.
Now the DRMOS light no longer comes on but the LED 1 light flashes and goes out, the system "reboots", this cycle continuing until I switch off the power. The CPU fan isn't even spinning up now though.
    Now 2 things:
    1. The motherboard I got cheap as an "open box" item from Aria PC, so I have a feeling it may have been dodgy to begin with.
    2. My old PSU didn't have an 8-pin EPS connector so I bought an adapter than plugged into the old style standard 4-pin IDE drive power connector. I hope this hasn't somehow fried the motherboard!
I can't find anything that tells me what the LED 1 light flashing on its own in this way means. Does anyone know?
Please tell me it's just the motherboard that's fried and not my beloved 3570K!
Should also say the debug LED panel doesn't even light up with any values and I've also tried switching the BIOS to A (it was set to B for some reason). I've also tried clearing the CMOS. Didn't help.

    Quote from: badboy2k on 26-June-13, 06:49:52
A0 is IDE Detect if its stopping there your drive mode sounds like its not set correctly as its not seeing your OS drive if its hanging! and AD is Ready to Boot Event (loading OS) this is either a OS from a different chipset or a bad drive mode or both happening!
Agree. It sounds so close to working. Maybe the onboard graphics will work to try and figure out how to get it set up right.
Also sounds like he may need a clean formatted HDD/SSD to place a fresh OS install on.

  • 5d mark II raw images soft

Hi All-while importing 5d mark II images into LR2 I've noticed they are very soft, almost to the point you think they are out of focus.  At first I though it was a camera problem, but after reviewing the forums I see I'm not alone.  When using Canon's DPP the images are sharp. While I do notice the colors are off slightly, I am more concerned with the image quality and was wondering if anyone had any ideas.  Thanks

Maybe I can provide you with some examples.
I have not noticed any major sharpening differences between DPP and LR 2.4 with 5D MkII images.I have uploaded two example JPEGs, one rendered and converted with DPP 3.5.2.0, the other one rendered and exported with LR 2.4 (without any export sharpening in LR):
    1) Image rendered in DPP 3.5.2.0 (21MB)
    Default settings
    Picture Style "Standard"
    Sharpening 3 (Default)
    ALO switched off
    2) Image rendered in LR 2.4 (18MB)
    Camera Calibration "Camera Standard"
Sharpening 25/1.0/25 (Default for Camera Calibration)
    No export sharpening
The underlying RAW image can also be downloaded from here (34MB).
There is a slight color shift between the images (due to different rendering parameters as discussed in several threads in this forum), but I cannot see any relevant difference in sharpness.

  • IMPORT / EXPORT IN SCRIPTS

    Hi all.
i have an issue in the scripts.
is ir possible to use Import / export in scripts.
If it is possible ,then how.
can any body help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Eswar

    Hi,
Use Report RSTXSCRP allows SAPscript objects (standard texts, styles, forms
or device types to be transported between R/3 and a local or central
    file.
Note: Texts, styles, and forms are client-specific! For export they are
always read from the current client and for import they are always read
to the current client. Device types are not client-specific so the
current client is not significant in the export/import of printer
    definitions.
    Parameters to be specified:
The radio buttons Device type/Form/Style/Standard text select the
transport object to be imported or exported.
Object name:  Name of the standard text, style, form, or device type.
Mode: Export means download to file, IMPORT means upload from file.
File system: Allows you to choose whether the file is read/written
locally (GUI file system) or on the application server (default
    setting).
Reward Points if it is Useful.

  • Colours too rich and dark when printing

    Hello!
I am having slight problems printing photos in iPhoto. The photos look great on my laptop: PowerBook G4 (OS 10.4.7), iPhoto 6.0.4 (305). The printer is a new Canon Pixma MP 500 (bought because of good reviews for photo printing.)
When printed the photos are too rich in colour and slightly dark. I am using Kodak Glossy Picture Paper for Inkjet Prints.
The settings in iPhoto for printing are:
    Paper: A4,
    Style: Standard Prints
    Advanced: (main settings)
    Colour Conversion: Standard
    Quartz Filter: None
    Media Type: Glossy Photo Paper
Print Mode: Printing a top-quality photo
    Color Correction : None
    Print Type: Photo
    Brightness : Normal
Color Balance and Intensity all 0
    Vivid Photo is unticked
    All advice gratefully received!
    Alastair Turnbull

You might calibrate your monitor in the Color section of the Displays preference pane. Set the Gamma to the 2.2 setting. Then try editing a photo to the level you want and print. The darker 2.2 will force you to lighten the exposure in iPhoto to what looks good to you and may more closely be represented in print to what you want.
    Do you Twango?

  • Can't match the quality of a Canon JPEG

I shoot JPEG and RAW and I have my camera (EOS 1D Mk II) set-up to apply some adjustments to the JPEG image. They are: Pictuyre style Standard, Sharpness 7, Contrast +1, Saturation +1, Colour tone 0, colour space Adobe RGB.
I'm very happy with the output of the camera's JPEG and rarely have to adjust it in photoshop before sending to clients. However, the RAW is a different story. I cannot match the quality of the Canon in-camera rendered JPEG with the RAW file in Apeture. The results from Aperture are woeful.
Here is an example. The image on the left is the JPEG right out of the camera, the image on the right is the un-tocuhed RAW. I have spent hours in Aperture tweeking setting to try and match the JPEG but I keep ending up with a far inferior image. Can anyone suggest how I can go about making the adjustments in Aperture so that my RAW files match the JPEG quality? I'd like to be able to have a pre-set that I can save into Aperture so that I can shoot only RAW but get the image quality that the Canon Camera JPEG produces.
MacPro, 30" Cinema Display   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   MacBook

Thanks for the reply Carl. I've tried those adjustments many times, but I just can't seem to get it how I want it, and the JPEG always looks so much better. The sharpness is something I cannot get anywhere near as good in Aperture.
Also, I'm looking for a pre-set here, so I don't want to adjust the image specifically for this shot, I want to save the pre-set that gets closest to the Canon settings then I will use that as the basis for all my RAW imports in the future.
What I don't understand, or more specifically, don't know how to replicate, is why I cannot match exactly, or near as **** it, what the Canon camera is doing. Obviously the camera is performing a RAW conversion, and it's using the style that I have pre-set. Surely Aperture, or any other RAW conversion solution, must be able to process the image in a similar way to achieve a similar result?
Right now my work-flow with JPEGs is very fast, but if I was to use my RAW files it seems I'm adjusting every single image with the tiniest details.
Like I said, generally I'm happy with the Camera JPEG 99% of the time, so a RAW processing pre-set to match that would mean I'd be happy with 99% of my RAWs. Perhaps I should upload these images to Apple's Aperture team and see if they can find a suitable conversion pre-set?

  • Show the document path in a search

    Hello,
I´m doing many test serching documents and I want to display the differents paths of the folders or documents of the search (like we can do with the Tooltip setting option = path that displays the resouce path as a tooltip).
    How can I do this?
    My SearchResourceRenderer settings are:
    Resource Renderer: ResourceRenderer
    TooltipSetting: path
    ShowResourcesProperties: all
    Child Folder´s Style: standard
    Mode for child count: folders/filters
    Visible Properties: contentLink
    Target Window type: linklist
    Command Display: link
    Resource Command Group:  SearchSingleItemGroup
    Folder Command Group:   SearchSingleFolderGroup
    Link Command Group:  SearchSingleItemGroup
    Thanks in advance,
    Esteban

    Hi Robert,
First of all, thank you very much for your help.
I´ve added "rnd:path" in the Display Properties parameter of the StandardSearchResultRenderer. Now, when I search a file older the result is still only the file older without their paths. However, when I click into these folders I can see their path and more information utilities like "search from" or "details" each.
Why I can´t see this information from the beginning of the search?
    Thanks again!

  • Graphics bug on Win and Linux ?

Hi all,I have a graphic problem. I have created a JFrame and I have added him a JPanel (1) that it has as Layout a BorderLayout. To this JPanel (1) I have added another JPanel (2) that it has as Layout a GridLayout and a JLabel that I have used as StatusBar.
The problem is that when a window overlaps to the JPanel (1), the JPanel (2) is visualized to the initial state in which it had been created. After click on it returns to the actual state.
I post you an image to make to understand better me.

  • Trying to print "horizontal" in iPhoto

I am trying to print 'horizontal' but even after changing orientation in 'Page Setup' it still comes out vertical.
    Help!
    Thank you!

I repaired and it still will not work.
    This is what I'm doing...
    In iPhoto...
1st. I click on a photo (standard horizontal image)
2nd. I go to 'page set-up' and 'pick horizontal'
3rd. Then- file/print and the drop down box opens...the printer selected is correct/my presets are correct/paper: US Letter/Style: Standard Prints
In the section below is the size I choose (5x7) and I click 'one photo per page' This whole time the little preview at the left is showing the paper as Vertical...it's only when I click 'one photo per page' that the image turns 90* cc(in the preview on the left) and it shows it to be how I want it.
When I 'print' it comes out printed on a vertical format.
I must be doing something wrong. I swear when I did this berore up-grade it did as I asked...?

  • Using Barcode reader in java

    Hi,
I have a project in which i have to read barcodes from a smart card
and then find out the id to which it belongs. I have the barcode values
and corressponding ids. I am not familiar with barcodes. Can anyone
please tell me how to use java for this purpose? Is there any java API
    for that.
    Thanks

    bond303,
Sounds to me like you have the information from the device and your
asking what to do with the data you have.
By the sounds of things your using EAN barcodes, but who knows which
one. Can you post a sample barcode please and can you look up the
specs for the client your doing the work for. They will state what
    Symbology they are using.
Of course if your doing this inhouse then you must have a department
that has specified requirements for the structure of the barcode.
Either that or your attempting to use a Smart Card from another
vendor. If the later then you need to contact that vendor and find out
    what standards they are using.
I presume again it will be some sort of EAN style standard. If theyre
just replicating a barcode on the Smart Card then I would imagine it
will be EAN128, otherwise it could be anything.
    James.

  • Borderless printing with iPhoto/Canon iP8600?

Does anyone know if it is possible to print borderless photos with iPhoto? I have a new Canon iP8600 that features borderless printing, but I've not been able to get it to work with iPhoto. The paper options for borderless printing are there, but the borderless popup dialog brings up a single greyed out option.
Any ideas from someone who has this printer (or the 8500)?

The post must have expired. Here's a step by step process that works fine with my Canon i850 and Epson R200. It's pretty generic.
    <blockquote?<i>Steps for printing 4 x 6 prints from iPhoto:
    1 - crop the photo to 4 x 6 beforehand in iPhoto.
2 - in Page Setup select your printer, proper page orientation and paper size as 4x6 or 4x6 borderless
3 - click once on the picture you want to print to make sure it's selected.
4 - now click on the Print button in iPhoto.
5 - in the iPhoto print window, select your printer again, select Style = "Standard Prints", Size= 4x6 and click on One photo per page.
    6 - click on the Print button.</block

  • Generated WSDL doesn't work in Visual Studio

After an update of SAP we have some problems with our web service (WSDL).
First of all we created a webservice using SE80. The generated WSDL url mentioned in SE80 doesn't work in visual studio which is in our opinion weird. When we use the url from the SOAMANAGER "Open WSDL document for selected binding" in visual studio we get a little bit further but it still doesn't work. The problem seems to be the "parameter(s)" with or without "s". Does anyone know how we can generated a WSDL with only "parameters"?
    ExampleWSDL:
    <wsdl:message name="ZPIQ_GET_LEERWEGResponse">
    <wsdl:part name="parameter" element="tns:ZPIQ_GET_LEERWEGResponse"/>
    </wsdl:message>

    <wsdl:message name="ZPIQ_GET_NATIO">
    <wsdl:part name="parameters" element="tns:ZPIQ_GET_NATIO"/>
    </wsdl:message>

    Hi Ralph,
In order to consume SAP services in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, you need to convert WSDL from SAP (Document style) to Microsoft (RPC style) standard. This conversion is transparent to you, if you use [ES Explorer for .NET|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/dotnet?rid=/library/uuid/c0319dc4-d76d-2a10-d19f-e4f4ff315bde].

  • Broadcasting: cell item is centered / size of email attachment

    Hi,
    Question No 1.
I created a web template (BI 7.0) with an analysis web item. When I send the template via broadcast, all cell items are centered in the analysis item. Is it possible to rigth align all numbers in the cells?
It is the part of the source of *.mht file send via email attachment.
    <td id="ANALYSIS_ITEM_1_interactive_467" tp="C" s="" st="" class="urSTTD urSTTDBdr urSTSStd urSTCl" style="text-align:center;vertical-align:top;"><span tabindex="0" ti="0" id="ANALYSIS_ITEM_1_interactive_466" ct="TV" s="" class="urTxtStd" style="white-space:nowrap;">564.766</span></td><td id="ANALYSIS_ITEM_1_interactive_469" tp="C" s="" st="" class="urSTTD urSTTDBdr urSTSStd urSTCl" style="text-align:center;vertical-align:top;"><span tabindex="0" ti="0" id="ANALYSIS_ITEM_1_interactive_468" ct="TV" s="" class="urTxtStd" style="white-space:nowrap;">1.915</span></td>
I don't understand the reason of style "text-align:center" for all cell.
    Question No 2.
In the analysis item we have 1200 row and 12 coloumn. The size of the *.mht attachment is 6MB. Is it normal? Can we reduce it?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Hi Arun,
    Thanks for your answer.
    1.
Yes, I use portal styles. I tried it with all styles (standard, tradeshow,..), but cells are always centered. I created a 'My Theme' and checked the themes for table elements. 'Center' attribute is not set.
         System Administration
          Portal Display
           Theme Editor
            Complex Elements / Table
            Component-Specific Styles / Tables
Component-Specific Styles / BI Web Reports
I suspect the 'INTERACTION_ALLOWED' attribute for web template/Analysis item. If I set it to 'Off' then cells are centered.
I set it to ‘On’, but in case of broadcasting the ‘Off’ can be set automatically.
    2.
As I know in case of 'HTML' format attachment must be zipped with all MIME elements. It results smaller size (for HTML and MHTML also), but I want to minimize the number of clicks.
