Styles Won't Appear as Bookmark

Hi all,
I'm using Acrobart 9.3.3 with Microsoft Word 2007.
In Acrobat==>Preferences==>Bookmarks, I've turned on the Bookmark checkbox for a style "Index Heading" in my document. It's the only style selected for bookmarks (all other bookmarks are generated by headings). However, when I generate the PDF, no bookmark is shown for this style.
The same for any other styles I try.
Does anyone know why styles aren't converting to bookmarks for me?

I've had a similar problem since I upgraded to MS Word 2007. 1) I don't get bookmarks for derived styles. 2) I don't get bookmarks for selected styles (i.e., H1, H2, H3), I get bookmarks for all styles (i.e., H1, H2, H3, H4, and H5.)
I posted my issue a month ago - several views, no replies and I've seen similar posts with no resolution. I've searched and posted all over and I have yet to figure out the issue.
Perhaps this is an environmental issue - but I have no idea how to troubleshoot or resolve. My Word documents are using Compatibility Mode (.doc files)...not sure if that has something to do with this.
I would like to escalate this issue to Adobe, but I haven't found a link to report a bug. Do you have any other ideas?

Layer Styles won't appear on image

Hi all,
I am having trouble using layer styles to create a border around my image. I was able to work with it yesterday on two images, however today I can not get the layer style to appear. I have tried everything I can think of: duplicating background, adding mulitiple new layers, and nothing seems to be working. Needless to say I am very frustrated at the moment. Anyone have any suggestions with what I could be doing wrong?

Thank you for the additional information. When PSE acts funny, it is recommended that you delete the preference file:
Quit the Editor
Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT before you launch the program, keep holding down the keys as you start the Editor.
You should see a window asking if you want to delete Elements settings. You do.
If you don't see the window, repeat the process. Timing is cruicial.

My bookmarks toolbar won't appear in safari iPad

Hi,
I would really appreciate any suggestions to get the bookmarks toolbar appear on safari on iPad 3. I have enabled bookmarks in settings but it still won't appear. I can't find a solution for this. I have no additional software loaded on the iPad, just what it came with. Happy to download something extra.

Thanks but it's not that as I did create another bookmark. I'm really trying to get this working so that I can add a bookmarklet.
I tried some of the other solutions, like disabling the icloud. I even set it up on my mac (the bookmark toolbar) in the hope it would sync across the mac and ipad..

InDesign Paragraph Style won't apply / change

Im hoping someone might be able to help me troubleshoot an InDesign question. Im a beginner-to-intermediate user.
I am unable to apply my Paragraph Style to a number of my text boxes. I have tried holding Opt/Alt while choosing the PS with no luck. I have also checked for local overrides and character styles, and there appear to be none. The fly-out menu from the Paragraph Styles menu is almost all greyed-out, so it won't let me select the Clear Overrides option.
However, when I double-click the text box to go into the frame, I am able to select the text directly and then apply the paragraph style to it directly inside the frame. This seems weird; Im hoping there's a way that I can just select the frames normally and apply a paragraph style as usual.
The text came from a Word document that was flowed into each chapter, if that gives any help.

P Spier, thank you very much. What is the work around then to achieve this? Simply selecting all the text in all of the threaded frames and applying the Paragraph Style directly to them? Is it possible to select all of the threaded frames at the same time and apply the Paragraph Style to it? Advice for best method of practice is much appreciated.

My iPad won't accept new bookmarks in safari.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

My iPhone 5 won't appear in my iPhoto library so that I can import my pictures from my phone.

Connect your iPhone to your Mac.
In iTunes, under devices select your iPhone.
On the main window it shows a summary of your iPhone. Along the top of the main window are tabs. Select Photos.
The main window changes. Make sure Sync Photos with iPhoto is checked.
In the bottom right there is an 'Apply' button. click that and your photos should now sync with iPhoto.

There is no Info tab in Mavericks

External hard drive won't appear on my desktop

I'm trying to run a backup, but my hard drive won't appear on my desktop. I see it in Disk Utility, so I know it's there...
...any suggestions?

Kevin - There might be a few reasons as to why your external drive won't appear have you tried any of these suggestions:-
STEP ONE - Confirm that the drive is being seen by the system
Click the Apple icon and select About This Mac.
Click More Info.
Select the Drives and Volumes tab.
If the Iomega Hard Disk drive is not listed under the USB/FireWire arrow, proceed to STEP THREE.
If the Hard Disk drive is listed, continue with the next step.
STEP TWO - Format the Hard Disk drive to Mac HFS format
The Iomega Hard Disk drive is factory formatted to FAT32 for maximum compatibility. If you have not reformatted the disk or the disk is formatted to FAT32:
The disk may mount very slowly in OS X if the disk is FAT32 formatted.
Mac OS X will not mount any DOS (FAT32) partition larger than 128GB. For more information, please check the Apple® Web site at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107483
Warning: Erasing your Hard Disk drive will erase all of the information stored on the disk. If possible, back up your data before erasing the hard drive. Mac formatted disks are not cross compatible with other operating systems, such as Windows®, without the purchase of additional third-party software.
Double-click the Mac hard drive icon.
Double-click the Applications folder.
Double-click the Utilities folder.
Double-click the Disk Utilities icon.
Highlight the drive in the left window.

If the Hard Disk drive now mounts, you are ready to use the drive.

CDs, DVDs, disk images won't appear in Sidebar or on Desktop

Hello,
Brand new iMac 2.16, right out of the box.
CDs, DVDs, and Disk Images won't appear on the desktop or in the Sidebar. Nothing is shown over the horizontal gray line at the top of the sidebar, no Macintosh HD, Servers, etc. Disk Images are fully functional, ie Disk Utility recognizes and mounts them just fine.
I checked Mac Help and followed its instructions:
(1) In Finder preferences:Pane:General, all 'Show These Items on the Desktop' boxes are checked.
(2) In Finder preferences:Pane:Sidebar, I checked all boxes under "Show These Items in the Sidebar. BUT these changes are NOT retained. After I close the Preferences, the Sidebar does not change. If I re-open the Sidebar preferences, the relevant boxes are now unchecked, as if I'd never done a thing.
Restarting was the only way to fix the problem. Thereafter, the upper items in the Sidebar (Macintosh HD, external drives, iPod, CDs) sometimes SPONTANEOUSLY disappear. They still show up on the desktop, but tweaking the Sidebar preferences is again ineffective. Restarting is the only solution.

Hi Andy, Welcome to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
1] Everything elmac says is helpful and correct.
2] An upgrade to 10.4.8 with the 10.4.8 Combo from blue apple / Mac OS Updates might fix your hiccup. If you don't want .8 then .7 combo.
3] [OT] For some minor security issues, it is better to surf the internet in a standard account. If you are surfing in an admin account then here is how to switch and maintain prefs.
Set up a new account in System Preferences / Accounts / +
and make it have admin priviledges. Be sure to remember short name and password since you will be asked to "authenticate" when running in your standard account. This new account is often called "test" in these forums.
Once that is done convert your regular account to standard.

5G iPod won't appear on my desktop or iTunes using USB 2.0

My new 5G iPod won't appear on my desktop or iTunes when I have it connected to a new 2.0 USB card in my G4 733. I know the USB card works because my old iPods work through it. My new iPod only will work through the old USB 1.0 port. I've reset it (with it attached to the computer) and done all that Apple says to do.

I am having a similar problem with my Nano. Shows up in itunes, but freezes up under USB 2.0. Other devices work fine on the card, usb 1.1 has no problems, and if I update music on my nano on the 1.1 port, and then plug it into the 2.0 port I can still update Calenders onto the iPod via iTunes.
Also, i applied the ipod updater and since this was happening under Panther, upgrading to Tiger made no difference, so I can't see this being a software error.

Thumb drive won't appear on desktop.

On my iBookG4 running 10.4.11, my thumb drive won't appear on the desktop when I insert it in the USB port. How do I make it appear? This just happened, as yesterday, it appeared. Help!

Those drives commonly come formatted for use with a PC. DU can't repair that format. Do you know what format yours has? You can try to erase/reformat it. If it Mac formatted right now and can't repair it then that may indicate the drive is truly history.
