Styling rectagles in Muse

Styling of rectangles in Muse only with rounded corners. No bevel corner option, like in Indesign?

There can be no bevel option because that is nothing any browser can render dynamically. If you want such stuff, you have to use images created in Photoshop.

  • How do i add an external blog to a specific part of my home page?

    hi,
i am wanting to add a tumblr blog to my home page. within muse, how do i configure exactly where in my site i want this blog to show up? is there a widget or something? i would like the most recent blog post to show up (in a window perhaps?) on the main page...where someone can then click on it, and have it open to the entire blog. how do i go about doing this?
    thank you.

  • Muse image metadata and global caption styling

When will Muse be able to import image metadata and perform global caption styling with accurate positioning for lightboxes and slideshows?

    I've done some testing.
if images are uploaded to the Facebook Wall, the Comments field that Aperture presents before uploading the image becomes the Description field on Facebook.
however, if the images are uploaded to a known Facebook Album, the Version Name becomes the Description.
both of these situations are not logical. in the case of uploading to the Wall, 'Comments' should probably be 'Description'. I'll report them to Apple's bugreport.
images seem to be scaled down to fit within 2048x2048 pixels.

  • I need help with adobe muse sub-menu styling

i need help with adobe muse sub-menu styling~!  i can adjust them to exactly how i like them, but then when i go to the next set of sub-menus, the other ones revert back to the starting white/black boxes.  i am frustrated as i have redone this so many times!  Please help me!

To achieve this, you can use an accordion widget with custum styling.
IF you search for Terry White, Muse, accordion, you will find some video tutorials on YouTube.

As Jon said, for PHP scripts to work, your server needs to support PHP.  Many Windows servers do not.
See screenshot from Manage Sites below.  Note the root directory.  Also under More Options triangle, toggle the Passive FTP option on.

  • How can I create a group of 5x3 buttons with a drop down meny that will slide down the 5 boxes beneath in Muse?

I am making a porfoliosite in Muse, and want to show 5 x 3 thumbnails of my work that you can click on to see more of the same work. When you click I want a drop down box that will slide down the boxes beneath. Like on this page: http://rajoon.com/. Anyone that know how?

Have you considered using CSS styled text/list menus instead of image rollovers.  It isn't hard really and it's actually a much better choice for   web accessibility and for search engines to find and follow your links.   Here are some links to several CSS menu systems you can try:

  • Is there a way of adding a b tag in Muse

Is there a way of adding a < b > tag to your muse without the styling being done in a style sheet - For seo purposes I think it is better that the tag is placed in the HTML

No, but there is a way to export <strong>: with your bold text selected, create a new character style (Window > Character Styles), then double click it or use the Style Options context menu. In  the dialog that appears, select Span Tag: <strong> Important.  Muse will export any text to which you apply this character style as a <strong/> element.

  • Is there any way, to create with Adobe Muse HTML-Mail Templates?

Is there any way, to create with Adobe Muse HTML-Mail Templates? or to convert the createt page to only html content? any other tool like an website copyer?
    tanks for help!

Off the top of my head, you should be able to create mail templates in muse BUT it will require  very basic html/css knowledge on your part. I am assuming you want to do just the signature?
Create the design you would like on one page, dont do any kind of styling in a master page. Then export the site into a folder. Open the html file with notepad/ textedit and then copy just the code for JUST the template. Throw it in you mail app of choice and it should work.
This seems like something that would be done alot quicker in dreamweaver in design view.
PLEASE NOTE: ^i could be completely wrong - but in theory this may work.

  • I'm getting an error message after importing a table through Dreamweaver into a page developed in Muse.

I'm getting a couple of messages after importing a table through Dreamweaver into a page developed in Muse. I have compared the code of the page with the table with the page before I inserted the table and cannot find anything missing. the web address is http://gourmetdreams.com/weekly-menu.html
How can I clear this up?
I also noticed that when I uploaded the file there was one error: "- error occurred - Access denied.  The file may not exist locally,  may be open in another program, or there could be a local permission problem."

Thanks for your help! I imported the table into Muse, then exported the site as html and opened it in Dreamweaver. I should've tried that in the first place but gave up when I couldn't edit it in Muse. I didn't know you could edit the html right in Muse. Also, my styling and the images I was using weren't showing up in Muse but once I opened it in Dreamweaver, everything fell into place. AND I could edit it! My client needs to edit this page every week, so I needed to be sure she could do that. She doesn't use Muse but does use Dreamweaver. At this point, I think I'll leave it alone and not try to style it with inline css. Maybe when I get a little more time, I'll try it. I just don't want to mess things up now that the're working.

  • How to style a custom form that's been inserted as HTML into Muse

Apologies in advance if something similar already exists, and as a print-based designer I'm likely to use incorrect terminology.
I've created a basic website that requires a custom form. I've created this form using dreamweaver as it requires a dropdown and a check box. The unstyled html from DW I then insert into Muse via the 'Insert HTML' function, on a page called 'booking form'
To style it I did the following...
    - Opened the form I created back in DW and added classes to the labels .formname, and added a class to some terms and conditions that sits somewhere in the form and called that .formsubtext
    - Copied all of this code and inserted it back into Muse via Insert HTML
    - The form shows up unstyled as expected
    - I export the site as HTML
    - Go into the exported folder into the CSS, and into the corresponding css file booking-form.css
    - Added some custom CSS styling to reflect the font and colour I wanted to use
    - Re-uploaded those edited files
    - The result was that it rendered the class .formsubtext reflecting the terms and conditions as it should but not all the other labels
Would someone be able to tell me a better way to style a custom form or point out what I've done wrong.
    Thanks!!!

If you have structured your HTML markup for the form well using appropriate class and id names, then you can just add corresponding CSS using the <style> element in the "HTML for <head>" section in Page Properites > Metadata.
You may also choose to add all the CSS in a separate file and add reference to that in the HTML for <head> section and then upload the CSS file in appropriate location after publish.
    Cheers,
    Vikas

  • How to create a breakthrough text in Muse?

    please help?
    Thank you

    Hi,
If by break through you mean the strike through font, then it is unavailable in Muse at the moment. Maybe you can use third party web font or download some system font with strike through styling.

  • How to apply Muse (webfont) styles to BC Blogs/Contact Forms?

    Hi all.
So my site (designed in Muse) is pretty much ready, except for my blog and a couple of forms. I've just gone through making it my partner site, replacing the so-called "bre-built" default site. That process was very, very simple, but BC Support told me it would be much more complicated than it needed to be - it wasn't! I was able to simply publish via Muse to my partner site domain and everything worked fine...
Anyway... Headers in my site use the "Bebas Neue" webfont selected from within Muse (I assume this is a Typekit font?), at 30pt and a custom colour #B10505. Body text is simply "Trebuchet" (a standard font) in black at 12pt. Now, I'm aware that not everything designed in Muse shows up "as shown" when doing any editing in the back-end of BC. I've just begun following through the tutorial for setting up BC modules on a Muse site and have gotten to the "Inspect Element" stage...
This is where I've hit a snag. This video: http://www.businesscatalyst.com/bc-blog/adding-business-catalyst-features-to-your-muse-sit es (with the blog part starting near the end of 19 minutes) clearly uses a standard font and not a webfont, so when I'm inspecting with Firebug, what's shown in the video doesn't show up the same in reality for me. This is because a standard font is applied in Muse designed sites where a webfont is in use, and the webfont simply "masks" the standard font (if I'm not mistaken?)...
I've read this topic: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5480712#5480712 which pretty much asks the same question I'm asking, but this guy clearly has more knowledge (or maybe more common sense) than me, so I'm asking it in a new topic here...
Can someone please walk me through (step-by-step) how to apply Muse selected webfont CSS styles to the relevant files in BC so that my blog shows up with a consistent look and feel to the rest of my site? I'll literally need every step walking through with minimal jargon if possible - this area of web design is not my forte!
I suppose I'd also like the same process walking through for contact forms if possible? Alongside the header font, I've got a custom styled, beveled button made on a standard Muse contact form that I'd like replicating on a BC-made form.
I'm sure once I understand this process, I'll be able to apply this to any BC module; I just need that initial helping hand that neither the BC team or the Muse team seem to want to reference in their tutorial videos!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    Hi
So, are these links in lieu of a full walkthrough, to help me better understand until if/when you get the time to explain?
The cssbasics.com link isn't working, FYI.
Looking through the typekit page, it seems fairly straight forward. Is this the same set of fonts Muse uses?
If so, theoretically do I just need to copy the snippet of code from the typekit site for my desired font (Bebas Neue) and paste it into the modulestylesheet.css file? Where? At the bottom of everything else? Presumably commenting what it is? and define that I want to use that as a header font? Can you walk me through exactly what I need to put for that?
Then I guess I just need to follow the rest of the video tutorial I linked above?
Or is there a little more to it than that?
Would I need to do the same to define trebuchet as the body font, or is there a different block of code I need for that, since that's not a webfont?
Sorry for being so slow with it!

  • Inserting externally purchased code into Muse.

I purchased code that I would like to use in my site. How do I use it with Muse? I understand how to place HTML, but right now I have CSS and JQuery files. Is there any way to get it in there?

It's hard to give a useful answer to that question. There's a wide variety of HTML widgets out there with lots of different requirements...
Generally speaking, CSS files usually contain styling info, to control how some HTML elements look.
JS files are scripts that usually attach behavior to certain HTML elements.
Usually you'd also have some HTML to insert so the CSS has something to style and the JS has something to attach behavior to.
Muse has a few features that may help you integrate this fabulous thing into your Muse layout.
    1) Insert HTML allows you to insert a bit of HTML which Muse will export along with the rest of your page.
    2) The page properties dialog metadata pane allows you to insert HTML code into the <head> of the exported HTML page.
    3) The 'Add files for upload' menu item allows you to tell Muse to upload additional files to your website. They'll be uploaded into a folder named 'assets'.
Depending on what you have, you might be able to use some of these features to get your wonderous thing into Muse without editing any of Muse's output.
If these features aren't sufficient for your use case, you may have to edit the exported HTML as suggested by iamDK. Note that if you do this, you'll have to re-edit the exported HTML every time you export/publish/ftp upload from Muse, as Muse does not preserve any edits made to the generated HTML.

  • How to remove underlining on text links in Muse...

    Hi,
Anyone know how to remove the annoying underlining of text links in Muse. I have of course, styled my link to have no underline - which in Muse works, but doesn't once online.
Even better - does anyone know how to create a hover style via Muse? I used to do it via Dreamweaver no problem - but haven't had any luck with Muse so far.
And is it possible to style 2 text links within a sentence? It only seems to be able to style the whole sentence rather than the just the links
If anyone out there can help?
    Laura

Not to worry - worked it out!
For anyone who doesn't know, go to File/Site Properties and click on the Text tab. Its all there!
