Stylus for the Stream 7 and Windows 8.1

Ok, honestly I'm much more of a Mac guy these days, and used iOS since it's earliest incarnations. Got the Stream 7 due to cost and curiousity.
What I've noticed is that with this size screen - it is almost impossible to use the desktop apps due to the extremely small size of controls, "hot points", etc.
I've used some of the "#75 rubber eraser bludgeon" type stylii, which I've never really liked, and have been looking for some kind of stylus that has a fine tip (around 2mm). I can find some for iOS, but first, they are app specific (even on iOS), and due to that - only work on iOS.
So:
1. 2mm tip, or thereabouts
2. capacitive - works on any capacitive screen - iOS, Android, Windows 8/10 tablets
3. Do NOT care about pressure levels (if feature is there, and it still works as a capacitive stylus - fine)
4. $50 USD or less
I might go more than that, but ONLY if it can work with basically ANY capacitive screen.

I don't think there are any passive stylus models for capacitive screens with a 2mm tip. The tip needs a larger surface area to be registered by the sensors in the screen (unless you have a touchscreen device that works with a battery-powered active stylus).
The best solution I've found is the Adonit Jot Pro. It has a nice fine tip for detail work, but the tip is covered by a see-through plastic disk that gives it enough surface area to work. The disk swivels around on the ball point and adjusts instantly to a wide range of writing angles. It also works on every capacitive touchscreen.

I have partitioned my time capsule, as I want part of it to act as a media server for both mac and windows. However I don't know what format that I need to partition it to. I also can't make it a permanently accesible drive. I want to restore the drive to the original format (which I don't know) and start again and re-partition the drive in a format that can be used for media by both mac and PC and for time machine back-ups and make the media part of it permanetly accesible so I can add and acccess my files.

You are mixing up a couple of things here.
The TC drive cannot be partitioned without removing it.. did you do that?
If you partition it you must use a Mac disk utility and use the HFS+ ie standard Mac format. And GUID partition table not windows type.
You can select erase disk in the airport utility.. that will take the disk back to original format. No partitions. TC is deliberately not partitioned as it is not a media server.. it is a backup device for TM. Over time .. the disk will be filled with TM backups so you have a long history of file changes to your computer.
There is no media server in the TC.. it is merely disk storage.. you can serve files from it to a media device.. but the TC itself is dumb as dumb.
Now the actual format of the drive is irrelevant to the PC.. The TC offers SMB file services to the network. You can copy files to and from the TC as if it was a local disk without caring one iota about the format. The TC handles that .. it is not a local disk .. it is a network drive.
Although you cannot partition the TC. you can still copy files to it.. this does have implications for TM.. but as long as there is plenty of free space should not be a major issue.
You can create a disk image via the disk utility in a Mac.. and as stated you can create partitions if you do it on a Mac with the disk directly connected which means breaking warranty if any exists on the TC.

You don't need conversion programs, iTunes can copy most of your content over to the iPad via the file sharing section, and some apps also support Dropbox, email attachments, transfer via your wifi network. There are a number of apps that you can get that support Microsoft office file (microsoft don't make an app versions of their software) e.g. from Apple there are Pages (word support), Numbers (excel) and Keynote (powerpoint), and from third-parties there are apps such as Documents To Go and QuickOffice HD

I am interpreting that to say that the detail panel is missing your develop module. If that is the case, right-click on one of the other panel headings and make sure there is a checkmark for detail.

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

Need driver for iPod video and Windows Vista

I had an iPod video and it synched no problem to my computer. There was a hardware issue inside the iPod so i sent it back and got a new one. Now when I connect it to my computer, it brings up the looking for a driver window and says it can't find it. Its only been a week since it worked fine.. I don't know if there is an issue with the new iTunes or what but has anyone had any experience with this issue or can simply tell me where to directly download or find the driver?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
*Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
Another possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I had the same problem so (assuming under the Purchased items in the Store you have a song stuck at 'Downloading'):
I went to Music, then Artists.
From there I chose the album.
The song that failed to download had the cloud symbol next to it.
I clicked the cloud symbol and the song completed the download for me.
(Please note this was in iTunes for Windows - I expect it to be similar in iTunes for Apple)

How do you fix a problem where document pages open that are too big for the display and runs off the end of the monitor? The borders are off the monitor so there is no window edge to grab and adjust.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

How do I disable transparency for the menubar and addressbar in firefox? (This does not mean disable windows aero or transparency in windows 7. A workaround has been posted. Stop spamming threads with disable transparency and aero everytime someone asks about this.)

Is there a setting to tone down the Aero usage of the in Firefox 5 so it looks more like Firefox 3.6. Is there a way to do this in the preferences or inside about:config?
I know what Aero is and how to turn it off.
The 2nd reply has images attached show why it is difficult to read. An light spot on a desktop background or an icon can make it very difficult to read. This is the #1 reason why I keep going back to 3.6.

If you are up to tweaking some CSS code in a style see
"Color Toolbar(s) to identify profile (DM*)" -- in http://userstyles.org/styles/9514, and you must read all of the description material understand what has to be done.
It is a style, and playing with the code is what styles are about. You will have to copy the section of code in the description to the bottom of the style for it to be complete to remove additional Aero effects, and choose two or three colors for the toolbars.

Simple MP games for OS X and Windows

hello all,
I am having trouble finding simple multiplayer games that have versions both for OS X and Windows XP.
Have PC laptop and ibook, both with WiFi, and would like to play games with my girlfriend. That's why simple games as she doesnt like those Ghost Recon stuff etc. but freeware/shareware ones.
Has anyone managed to find such games?

When looking for new applications, including games, I recommend searching MacUpdate or Version Tracker. The user-submitted reviews accompanying the listings can be helpful in sorting the wheat from the chaff.
