Stylus (Pen) for the iPad

Hi
Anyone knows of a reliable pen that could be used with available ipad notes?
using finger to write is not really practical nor efficient.

I wouldn't bother if I were you don't waste your money. I've tried 2 types so far from ebay by googling and both have been rubbish.
The first one is more of a brush, great for drawing I guess, and the 2nd was a rubber end that you have to push down so hard with it makes it unusable as a writing instrument.
From what i can see the iPad screen isn't geared up for wriiting neatly. I was a bit disappointed but I've just learnt to use the keyboard better, and my finger when needed. Maybe one day somebody will figure it out.
Writing notes in meeting using a pen would be far easier and more efficient, but I'm surviving (just)

  • What is the best stylus pen for the iPad Air?

Wondering which stylus pen to get for the iPad Air that's best for writing, and that you don't have to press too hard to use. Simply a stylus that works well with the "iPad Air" specifically. So far since I have been reading I haven't heard much good reviews about a stylus pen working well with the iPad Air

In my experience, the same stylii work well with the Air that worked with my iPad 3 and my iPad 2. You shouldn't have to press hard with any stylus. Stylii are a matter of personal preference. You will get as many suggestions as you get people replying to this thread.
I currently use three. An Adonit Jot Pro, a Pencil by Fifty-Three (mostly for drawing) and an Adonit Jot Script Evernote Edition. I have a collection of cheap Griffin stylii that as well. They work fine and are good to be able to lend to others.
    Best of luck.

  • Is apple making their own stylus pen for the ipad?

I bought the ipad and converted it into my digital sketchbook. I also  bought the capacitive styra from boxware.
it works great! but I'm wondering if apple is making one and will it be pressure sensitive?

Ah, but the key word is "require" - leaving hm some wiggle room. Apple could start selling their own styli and claim that it's different from a Tablet PC because the latter require a stylus and the iPad just "can" use one. :-)
That being said, Apple seems happy to let 3rd party developers take over items such as this.

  • HT1222 Does apple make a drawing pen for the iPad?

Does apple make a drawing pen for the iPad ?

No, apple doesnt have any apple branded stylus pens. An apple store worker recommended one to me and I loved it so my recommendation is the amPen Hybrid Stylus pen from Amazon. Great stylus, features the fiber mesh tips that dont stick or drag on the screen. They have a few colors you can choose from too.
They are under 8$ and have free shipping too.

  • Pen for the iPad

Hi, i would like to know if there is possibility to use a bluetooth for the iPad? For me as a student it is necessary to get the best way of writing simultaneous to educ. lecture.
    kind regards
    Martin

I have the pen from Ten One Design. It works good for writting and I use it with the penultimate app which is also really good. The down side is that you have to make sure when you write you can not rest your hand on the screen (not the easiest thing to do)

  • Im looking for the best stylus available for the ipad mini retina. for creative design

I am a designer and would like pressure sensitivity if available. I have seen the pogo connect which looks great but does it support the mini retina yet? Or the best alternative? I will be using paper and Adobe ideas. THANKS!

I agree with Miklos - the 53 is nice at first, but is awkward and heavy. It has a huge rubber tip and is stiky on the screen. I like the amPen Hybrid Stylus on Amazon. They are under 8$ and are a great quality stylus that actually works! They have the fiber mesh tips that can be changed out when you want a fresh tip. They also come in a variety of colors. Was able to get a stylish black on for myself and a pink one for my wife and daughter. We also got a 5 pack of the tips they sell so we ould have extras when we need them. The stylus tip is the best part though. It is soft and glides nicely on the screen. It is not stiky and clingy like the rubber tipped stylus pens you see these days. Link incuded. They even have free shipping! Can't beat that for under 10$

  • Is there a stylus with a nib for the iPad...and an app that goes with it?

Is there a stylus available for the ipad that looks and feels like a pen? I asked the question on the highstreet the other day and was shown a stylus that was as thick as my finger!!! (I think it was made by a company called Genius?). I am used to using an IBM tablet pc which comes with a stylus that can write in quite fine lines- can this be done on the iPad? Also if the answer is yes, I'd like to know if there is an application similar to Windows journal whereby you can save notes into your own file structure? Can anyone help- surely these are basic things for a tablet pc- I don't know why the folks on the highstreet can't help confirm this??? Thank you

The iPad screen uses a different technology to the tablet PC to which you refer and any 'stylus' needs to have sufficient width and to be able to transmit an electrical current. That's why the styli for iPads are usually thick and made from a 'sponge' like material.
You could try http://www.beststylus.com/ I have one of theirs on order but haven't received it yet. The videos look encouraging, but you'll never get the thin line experience of the tablet PC. (On the other hand you couldn't really use your finger as a stylus on the tablet; different ideas about input).
On the app side you may want to look at Note Taker Hd (works quite well without a stylus) and Mental Note (this is what I'm hoping the stylus will help with).

  • Keynotes, pages ... for the ipad

I was just wondering, i know they said these are available but i just wanted to know if they where looking into allowing people to write, drawn directly on the ipad. I think that honestly the keyboard is stupid and they should really work on maybe making a pen for the ipad. I think it has the possibility of being a great tule.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
Let me know of what you guys think.

Chris, You are correct. Thank you! The iPad needs to be in Portrait orientation in order to use iPages. My mistake was that the iPad has a lock switch on the side that allows you to lock in an orientation. I had the landscape orientation locked in. And that is why the iPage application did not work. I think Apple needs to correct the iPages program to work with the landscape view too, else others may have same problem I did. I was showing the iPad off to my guests at our Easter gathering when this problem showed up.

  • What is the best stylus to buy for the iPad

What stylus should I buy for the iPad?

The ice pen looks great I have been to their website. However, is it available in the UK?' Also it is a bit pricey for the work that I want to do, but I have to admit I would one. Thanks ever so much for introducing me to it.

  • Why isn't there an S-Pen type device for the ipad?

Why can't the ipad have a device like the S-Pen for the Samsung Note 8? They really need to develop an iPen or something because I'm tired of buying crappy stylus that gives me illegible handwriting and I don't mean a pen for drawing or painting. I've seen enough crap from that Bluetooth pen or whatever. People want a device that feels like paper when you are writing on it. I'm about to jump ship to the Note 8 if the next ipad doesn't have a stylus made by apple for the ipad for legible handwriting and note taking. Their stocks went down and I think an iPen would demolish all other competitors.

Because the screen technology that Apple uses cannot support the S-Pen. All styluses made for the iDevices mimic a finger being used on the screen.
Tell Apple your thoughts here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
Or go buy the Note 8 if it is more suited to what you are doing.

  • Has a stylus-related implement been made for the iPad 2 yet?

Just wondering if a stylus of sorts has been made for the iPad yet?

There are a number available - just do a search on somewhere like Amazon for 'iPad stylus'. Or you could search this forum for recommendations

  • Can I use a stylus pen on my iPad?

Can I use a stylus pen on my iPad?

Yes, as long as it is designed to work with iPad/iPhone/iPod.
It has to be stylus with a broader and soft tip that mimics a finger. Some are available quite inexpensively.
(as opposed to the thin hard pointy styluses we all used with older touch screens in various devices that didn't respond to the touch of a finger)

  • Photoshop for the iPad?

Just received an email from Wacom that it created a Bamboo stylus for the iPad.  What about Adobe creating Photoshop for the iPad to use with the stylus?  Would this be possible?

Everything is possible. But tablets are powered with light processors. That's not ideal for Photoshop.
What kind of work would you expect a tablet version of Photoshop do that other iOS painting apps do not already do?

  • Ipen for the iPad and iPhone?

what are the chances of Apple developing an ipen for the iPad and iPhone? The pen for the Samsung galaxy works better than any capacity pen on an iphone or ipad.

This is an iPad user to user forum, so you are not addressing Apple. We have no way to know what and when Apple will do something. You'll have to wait for an announcement by Apple.
    Send feedback/suggestions to Apple.
