Stylus stuck in slot

The stylus will not come out of holder. Normal push in to eject does not work. The stylus separated when I pulled hard.  Will it damage anything else if I just yank the rest of it out with some needle nose pliers?

The Bay itself is designed for the Stylus, you may be able to take it out your self, if you do try that then please make sure you remove the battery and AC from the notebook first.
What model of Tablet do you have?
The specific Product number from the bottom would be a good thing to put in reply.
I can look to find the service and maintenance guide for you to refer to.
You an do the same by going to HP.com support

  • Horrible mistake-mini cd stuck in slot drive

Unfortunately I was unaware that mini discs are NOT to be loaded into slot drives prior to doing this. Now it is stuck and won't eject. Is there anything I can do? Please help!

Hold it with the slot facing down. Gently shake the computer to get the disc into the slot. You can use a 3x5 card (or other heavy stock) to help guide it. When you can see it, grasp it with needle nose pliers or tweezers.

  • CD stuck in slot & computer won't start

I placed a cd in my front slotted graphite (special edition) iMac and the icon didn't appear. I attempted to manually eject with a paper clip and I heard all the whirring sounds but it would't eject. I hit restart and held the mouse key down, nothing. During one of my restarts the computer chimed, a grey screen and the apple icon appeared with the circular rotating lines beneath it. Then a dark grey circle with a diagonal line across it replaced the apple icon. It continues like this endlessly. I can't use the button to turn the machine off. I must disconnect the power cord. I can't use the restore cd because the first cd is stuck in the slot. I hear no telltale whirring sounds anymore.
Tried shift key & option, command P & R keys at start neither work. It gets to the screen I just descibed and doesn't progress.
I'm working with OSX3.9. I had no previous problems? Any advice?iMac graphite Special Edition   Mac OS X (10.3.9)iMac graphite Special Edition   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Well with more agressive prodding I was able to get out not one cd, but discovered by mistak, I placed in two. Got them both out but now still can't get the computer started. After hitting the restart button I hear the chimes and a grey screen appears. After two minutes a dark grey apple icon appears. After 2 more minutes the rotating circle, then the apple icon is replaced with a dark grey circle with the diagonal line throuh it. I tried restarting holding down the shift key and then the command, option, P & R key technique but neither work. I thought about inserting the software restore cd into the slot but I don't feel the typical pull I used to feel when inserting a cd/dvd. Also fearful it will get stuck in there. Again also not hearing the typical whirring sound I used to hear when inserting a disc.
I have a Firewire CD-rewritable drive connected, so I tried starting the computer (while holding down the C key) with the software install disc in it, hoping it might start things, but same results.
    Any suggestions?

  • Stuck Expresscard Slot Cover

Hi all, I've got a question regarding my expresscard/34 slot. I've been travelling a lot lately with my macbook pro, and have recently discovered that the expresscard slot has somehow become stuck open, and I can't figure out how to get the cover to close and protect the insides from dust, moisture, etc. I don't have an expresscard to try inserting and ejecting. Any brilliant ideas?

When ours got stuck I used a paper clip to jiggle it a few times until it closed. You shouldn't need to hook it unless it is stuck a lot worse than ours was. It hasn't happened again.

  • Kingston lock stuck in slot

I went on vacation in the holidays for 3 weeks, for laptop safty i bought a defcon cl lock and locked my computer. When i returned home i tried to take out the lock but it would not come out. I know the code for the lock and am able to press the button to release it but when i pull it just dosent come out.
I thought maybe i could take off the bottom part of the computer and push it outside, but didnt want to take the computer apart if i didnt know for sure that it would help.
    thank for your help

    Ok, then:
Get a can of WD-40 or Liquid Wrench spray lubricant
    Shut down the Mac.
Use wide masking tape, plastic bags, etc, to protect the Mac, especially the optical drive slot. What you want is to "cocoon" the Mac up, leaving only the stuck lock exposed.
Have someone hold the Mac up, with the security slot and stuck lock down.
Flood the lock with the spray lubricant. You want to truly soak so it penetrates to the innermost recesses.
Try again and see if the lock finally releases.
And it goes without saying that it won't be reused when the **** lock finally lets go....
Alternately, write the lockmaker for support. They're supposed to warrant their products. Finally, opening her up and popping the ornery lock off sounds like a difficult proposition. Since the body of the Mac is soft aluminum, the security slot is reinforced with an insert, as you can see in this pic from my Mac. The slot is right smack in the middle of the black hardened insert to the left of the screwhole.

  • X2 Discs stuck in slot

Hello - It would appear that my youngest daughter has managed to jam two discs in the drive slot. The discs aren't ejecting when the eject button is pressed.
I've also tried restarting with the mouse button pressed, only for a nasty grinding/crunching noise coming from the drive.
Apart from getting a pair of tweezers onto the unit and risking buggering-up one of the discs has anyone got any more suggestions.
    Please!

    Oh dear!
The slot loading drives Apple use (like most others in fact) are quite close tolerance, so it take a bit of effort to get two disks in at the same time. Sadly, too much effort for the drive to be able to exert to get them out again, because unless both disks are unusually thin in effect they will be pretty firmly stuck - hence the uncomfortable noises when trying to eject.
Indeed it's possible the drive itself may have been damaged - potentially not just by the insertion of two disks at the same time, but also by the attempt to eject them.
I don't think you have any real chance of getting them out with tweezers or anything of that sort - at least not without damaging one or both of the disks. It's possible the drive didn't quite swallow them both up, in which case one disk may be jamming against the inside of the casing, slight above or below the center of the slot, and if so a bit of gentle probing with a stiff card or carefully inserted tweezer might do the trick, but more than likely the system will have to be opened and the disks manually removed from the drive.
If you've previously opened the system you'll likely find removal that way pretty easy. If you haven't had the system open before, it might be time to practice a bit of putty-knife magic!

    Hi there @tiggerthecat,
I understand that you have a dvd disk stuck in the drive. I am happy to help you with this.
It sounds like you have done the basic things that are required, so likely you will have to use the manual release method. It will take more effort than if the drive is directly accessible. You can review the other methods to eject the disk as well.

  • CD stuck in slot drive - help!

    Hi,
My husband had an unfortunate tea / Macbook interface a couple of weeks ago.  He's cleaned the keys and whatever, and all is working well.  I loaded a CD into the slot drive last night.  It was a bit 'stiff', but then accepted the CD ok.  The only problem is it now won't eject.  The disk is mounted and shows in iTunes, it makes the usual ejecting noises, but the CD isn't actually moving at all.  I'm guessing that some of that nice, sugary tea has made its way in there and is making the whole thing sticky, but how can I overcome this?
    Yours hopefully ,
    Julie

Shutdown your Mac, restart it keeping the EJECT Key on your keyboard pressed until it ejects

  • DVD Stuck in slot drive, doesn't show on desktop or in Disk Utility

I downloaded the 10.5.3 combo update on my Power Mac and burned a disk image of the file to a DVD to update my iMac which suffers from the Airport problem and is unable to successfully download anything before connection drops.
I successfully updated the iMac to 10.5.3 but upon restart, the DVD is still in the slot, and doesn't show on the desktop nor in DU.
I tried the eject button, but nothing. I tried restarting and holding down the mouse button, but no luck.
How do I get the disk out?

    Thanks for replying, xnav.
Unfortunately I have tried these with no luck. The disk does not show up in disk utility, it's like it doesn't even exist, yet it remains there in the drive making it impossible to insert any disk.
I don't know what to do at this point... take it to the shop I guess!

  • ?-mark folder on startup WITH cd stuck in slot - PLEASE help!

    Hi!
I have a power Mac G4 cube with Mac OS 9.something. I'm not currently using it because we have a newer computer, but when I went to use it last night it showed me a question mark folder at startup and now I have a CD stuck in it that I can't get out.
I've tried holding the mouse down at startup to no avail...
Please help! How can I get my computer working again?

if option doesn't work startup while holding down the left click on your mouse.
is it trying to eject but it wont make it all the way out or is it simply making no noise at all?
at one point i had to completely remove the dvd drive on my cube and remove a cd, hopefully your drive isn't completely dead.

  • INSTALL SOFTWARE CD STUCK IN SLOT

Am getting ready to donate my trusty old blueberry. Ran SuperScrubber. Put in install software CD to reinstall everything. It couldn't find hard drive as destination. Computer is running off CD and won't eject. Now what??

Yep, my husband is Mr. Security and had me use the MOST secure setting on the scrubber... Thanks for helping with the specifics and here may be the problem: I have only 2 CDs one that says software install and one that is software restore. I don't seem to have an OS9 CD. If you don't have any other ideas, sounds like I'm outta luck. Will just send it to the recycling bin.
    'Sounds like SuperScrubber scrubbed EVERYTHING!
Robert gave you the steps, but it can be a bit
confusing if you don't do this a lot.
Reinsert the OS 9 CD. Make sure it's specific for
your machine (grey disk), or a universal white
background/orange "9". Once the desktop appears,
scroll down to the "Utilities" folder in the disk
window, open it and look for the Drive setup
    f. Open that folder and double click Drive
Setup. If you see the drive as an option, choose
"Optimize". If it doesn't show, it died, or SS
    scrubbed it out of commission.
Once the drive is optimized, you can install a new
system, then choose Startup Manager Control Panel
under the Apple menu and start up from the hard
    drive.
From there, everything should be peachy keen. (You
    don't need the Nortons app.)

  • CD stuck in slot, how to upgrade OS??

I was wondering if I could use my iBook to install Tiger on my Graphite iMac. Another CD lives permanently in my drive. Any ideas?
Flat panel G4   Mac OS X (10.2.x)   Graphite iMac, iBook

If both machines have FireWire ports, hook them up with a FireWire cable and then start up the iMac with the T key held down. Restart the iBook from the Tiger DVD, and then install Tiger onto the iMac's hard disk.

  • N97 Suggestions - Not bugs

1 - On SMS's a display like the iPhone would be nice, where they show the conversation between you and a phone number (name)
2 -  A way to mark SMS's with out having to click OPTIONS -> MARK/UNMARK ->MARK. What would be sweet is to be able to draw and X or check mark on the message to mark.
3 - A way to send PHOTOS to the PHONE and be able to view them, like a photo album, and not just display photos you take or receive from a MMS (We love you for being able to do MMS's iPhone may get it working this year in the USA)  But want a way to organize and store images sent from your PC/MAC
    I'm sure I'll have more.
