SU-8W with rechargeable batteries?

I plan to buy and use N800 for taking notes on classes, meetings etc. For this purpose I need a keyboard but unfortunately as far as I can tell (according to the keyboard manual) the SU-8W keyboard can only use LR03 batteries which are non-rechargeable.
More than financially (which also matters), with a battery life of ~50hours, I would need to get new batteries quite often which is ekologically problematic.
Does anyone know whether there are any rechargeable alternatives to the LR03 batteries or am I forced to buy some other vendor's BT keyboard for writing?
Any insights deeply appreciated.

I'm not sure what you're using as a tester.   Those cheap ones that just say "good" or "bad" aren't specific enough.  A battery that no longer has enough energy for a full-power pop from a flash could potentially still power a TV remote for quite some time.  It depends on what the manufacturers of the tester use as their limit for "good".
If you're using a volt meter, I usually charge my Eneloops once they fall below 1.2V.  I don't regularly use a voltmeter to check this, but my charger tells me what my voltage is when I recharge.  If I use the batteries until the recycle time starts getting long they're usually around 1.2 V.  If I use them until it won't work at all anymore it's usually closer to 1.1 V.

  • Magic Mouse not working with rechargeable batteries

    Hello,
I have a Magic Mouse. I ran out of alkaline batteries and replaced them with Philips rechargeable batteries.
Magic Mouse refuses to turn on.
The same batteries, used in a MS Mouse work just fine. In fact, it works even with only one of them.
Are there incompatible batteries with Magic Mouse? Can anyone advise?
    Thank you.

I suspect it may be a voltage issue. Virtually all rechargeables work in my Mighty Mouse but I have not been able to get rechargeables to work at all in my Magic Trackpad. I have tried about 5 different varieties. What I have not tried, as I did not have any with me in France, are these "instant on/ready to use" rechargeables. I measured the voltage of newly recharged NiMh cells at about 1.47V, which quite quickly dropped to about 1.3 to 1.4V and then stayed there a long time. Fresh Alkaline were about 1.6 to 1.8V and fresh Oxyride or Lithium, about the same. For high current devices, the lower voltage of the NiMh cells may not be an issue, as their internal resistance is much lower than alkaline, so that the effective voltage in use may the same. However for very low current devices like Mice or trackpads, the free voltage may be more important,

  • Apple Bluetooth Devices and Rechargeable Batteries

    Hi,
Both from my own experience, and other posts on this forum, there seems to be a problem using Bluetooth devices, especially mice, with rechargeable batteries (symptoms, not being able to point, crazy tracking behaviour etc.).
I know that Apple recommends that non-rechargeable batteries are used, but in this day and age that seems a bit archaic and, well, not very eco-friendly!
So is there a good reason why Apple couldn't design (or re-design) bluetooth devices with re-chargeables in mind?
If there's anyone out there who has been able to get reliable performance from blue-tooth devices with re-chargeables, can you share some brands/details?
I've tried Energizer Ni-MH 2000mAh, and they do not work.

    Hello Ellis:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
Apple indicates that rechargeable batteries are fine for use in wireless mice/KBs (see paragraph #2):
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86651#faq1
As the other poster correctly indicated, the voltage is lower in rechargeable batteries so they do not last as long as lithium ones. I use 2500 MaH batteries and the life is "reasonable." I do use an Energizer recharger that recharges batteries in 15 minutes (takes both AA and AAA batteries).
FWIW, I have not detected any behavior problems related to using rechargeable batteries - nor have I seen more than anecdotal posts that indicate such problems,

  • Can I use rechargeable batteries with N200? - Creative, official answ

    Hi
I noticed there has been few topics on using rechargeable batteries on MP3 players such as N200, but I couldnt spot official answer from creative. Since rechargeable batteries are usually .2v, I'm wondering if we can use them or not.
    Regards

    Smau,
If they match to what traditional alkaline batteries output then they should work. Officially the requirements is a AAA battery which means that if the rechargeable confirms to this then it should work.

  • New magic mouse and new rechargeable batteries aren't at %100....

Hi, my new rechargeable batteries and charger aren't showing that my batteries are anywhere near %100 powered. I've let the batteries charge overnight and when replacing them in both the mouse and the keyboard they've shown at max 75% battery level. What's up with that?
Also, this is the battery kit from Apple.

that's completly normal because rechargables don't work the same way as batteries do. 75% is a good value in my experience.
besides that, you might also notice that the % jump around a little and that the last 20% or so drain very fast

  • Magic Mouse glitchy behaviour with Apple batteries

    Hi,
Since the Magic Mouse has a voracious appetite for batteries, I bought the Apple charger with the included batteries.
For the last month, everytime I use this Apple batteries, the Magic Mouse starts behaving erraticaly (mixes up right and left click), no scrolling, etc.
As soon as I switch for regular batteries, all these problems are gone.
I knew the Magic Mouse was sensitive to batteries voltage differences, but I wasn't expecting this from fully charged Apple batteries.
Does anyone know how to fix this, apart from using other batteries? Does anyone experienced something similar?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jorge

Never heard of that from new batteries.   Here are some notes I've written about batteries.
Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are more likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems. Apple’s own brand, Eneloop and Energiser appear to be the best.
Rechargeable batteries for the standard Magic mouse are unlikely to exceed eighteen days before needing a recharge although the mouse itself can be a limiting factor.   I have seen reports that some Logitech mice vastly exceed this.   Apple may suggest more in their sales blurb but this is a realistic expectation.   The benefit (if you are organised) is that you can always have charged batteries available.   Regular batteries will give you between 25 and 35 days before they need to be replaced.
Note.  Never mix old and new batteries or rechargeable and regular.
Both the above are based on my personal experience, not shutting down my machine and using it for around four hours per day.   Note.   Monitors do not always faithfully report battery strength, particularly with rechargeable ones.
When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries ...
    Turn off the device.
    Remove the batteries,
Clean the terminals both inside the battery compartment and on the batteries themselves.
    Replace or renew both batteries.
Turn on the device.   You should get a blinking green light if the device is paired.
Click the mouse to activate it.  The green light becomes steady.

  • Muvo N200 - Rechargeable batteri

Does anyone know if I can use rechargeable batteries (Ni-Mh) on Muvo N200?

Yes, although some users have had trouble using new nimh batteries. It is strange that this occured. Do a search of this forum to read the threads. If you do plan to use nimh batteries with the n200, make sure to get a charger that has a separate charging circuit for each battery. Many chargers charge batteries in pairs(or even 4 in one circuit), and this will not properly charge batteries that are in different stages of discharge(since they have been used one at a time). The chargers with a separate charging circuit for each battery usually have a separate charging light for each battery.

  • Rechargeable batteries and charger for mouse/keyboard?

Can any recommend a quality set of rechargeable batteries for the Mac Pro, and maybe even a charger of choice?
Perhaps something you have used and like?
    thanks

For the mouse, battery weight makes a BIG difference. It feels best with just one lithium battery installed. See if you can find rechargeable lithium batteries of the same voltage as the ones that came with the mouse.

  • Any problems with rechargable batteries and tx

Ive read that rechargable batteries are a problem on the nano plus. Im about to buy a tx fm and want to make sure rechargables will work with tx model.Any specific type i should look at?

What's probably happening are two things () some batteries aren't producing sufficient voltage to dri've the player (2) rechargeable batteries can take a few charges to work fully, so people may be having problems with the first few charges supplying sufficient voltage.

Which brand is THE best in rechargeable batteries for Magic Mouse AND last long ?

I've been using the Apple rechargables in my keyboards/mice/trackpads for over a year now.  They last 3-4 weeks in my usage pattern but I have spares ready to go when they get weak.

  • Do the REFURBISHED 20G Ipods come with new batteries?

It seems like a good deal for a 20GB Color ipod for $120, but do they come with new batteries or wil it die in 3 months?
Is the battery covered under the 1 year warranty?

They should be as good as a new model. Yes the batteries are covered under the one-year warranty so you should be all set, at least for a year.
I bought my daughter a refurbished 30GB video model for her birthday in October and basically it was a brand new unit in a different box. So far so good.
