Sub-opportunity and Main Opportunity

Hi,
I was creating an Object Relationship profile for opportunities for opportunities to allow subsequent referencing of Main opportunities in Sub-opportunities. In other words, I am looking for a functionality via which, when i am trying to create a subopportunity, i should have an option to tie it back to a main opportunity. I know that this can be achieved through Object realtionship profile config. However, i am stuck at a basic point that how system differentiates between a main opportunity and a sub opportunity.
Is there any check box or a provision either at customizing level or at transactional level to designate an opportunity as a main opportunity or sub-opportunity?

Hi Raghu,
The relationship profile is more like a determining characteristic/control set. If the profile allows something (example - add a sub opportunity, allow multiple subsequent assignments etc), then this action is allowed in the transaction. This action updates the document flow. Once subsequent object is created, the only link that is between the two transactions at the technical/system level is the document flow.

The key issue here is when Automatic Bank transfers take place, the salary transfers should be paid to the correct bank account for each employee. The unique identifier is the bank key + bank account number. Therefore, if you have 300000 employees and each employee has an account ina a different bank, you have no option but to create 300000 bank keys in the database.
Conflicts may very well arise if you assign arbitrary bank keys and if employees dont get paid in time because the amount went into a wrong bank account, you may well run into industrial relations issues.
In the UK, US etc, there is a central database of bank keys which is available as a commercial product and most companies purchase this in DVD format and upload the whole thing in the bank tables in FI. on an ongoing basis, if new branches crop up, they are manually updated from time to time.
Some posssible sources:-
1) Check if you can get a similar product in India, There used to be websites like indiainfoline.com which could provide this information for a fee.
2) Surely your FI department would have a list, as they must have been paying employees through Bank transfer before SAP was implemented.
3) The existing HR system surely must have a list of employees bank accounts along with Bank keys.
Bottom line, don't assume what the bank keys can be - try and ensure the correct bank key is used for each employee.

Crystal report(Can i link sub report and main report Compulsorily) - invalid path

hi.
i need small clarification.
i am developing one Crystal report
main report i took it from rdr1 one table...
report is working fine..
Sub report i took it from inv1 one table.
i have not linked any fields from these tables.
May be it is having links in b1..
but in my other report both the tables.... from main report and sub report does not have any relation.
My Questions is..
Can i Compulsorily link fields to main report...
if both does not have any relation what should i do...
i took two tables.
main report rdr1
sub report inv1...
if i run the report it is asking two parameters one is for sub report and other one for main report working find in crystal report.
but...i want to run the report in b1.
while importing i am getting the error (Plz have a look on below image)
if i choose any other report it is importing fine...
Clearly i am mentioning i dont want to link both tables there is no links between two reports...
in this scenario can develop a report..

Sub-VI and main VI

My main VI calls a sub-VI. I used the get control value (variant) to get the graph in the sub-VI, and output it to the main VI in a cluster. I set the maximum y scale in my sub VI, and it works. But when I get the graph in the main VI, my maximum y scale doesn't look right. Shouldn't I get the same graph that I got from my sub-VI. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks

The Get Control Value function just returns the value, not the other
properties. Other postings point out what you probably want to do.

Is it possible to run sub vi and main vi at same time from startup?

Is it possible to run both my main vi and my two sub vi`s from startup, all of them continuously? I have to sub vi`s that are supposed to take in measurements from two different instruments continuously. I manage to make a program where I can open up and close the sub vi`s, but when my sub vi`s are closed, nothing is happening in them...and they start to run again when I open them...and I have to close them if my main VI is supposed to run. So the data in the chart is only from the periodes when the sub vi has been open.

I will send my labview programs. "Hovedprogram" is my main vi, "front" and "front 2" is my sub vi`s. I am also using global variables. I have already searched the discussion forum trying to find an answer to my problem, but I haven`t quite managed yet...
My sub vi`s are not connected to any instrument now, but I have inserted a sinewave-generator and a chart in "front"(my sub vi) so I am able to see that the sub vi actually stop running when i close the window.

Display real time data on a plot in a sub VI and main VI

I am building a program to measure and plot real time data. Program has several steps so I build few Sub VIs to make it simple. My problem is I am plotting real time data in my SUB VI(it works fine), but in my main program when I try to get the same plot its not real time data plot. Plots appear at the end of the program. All tips and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

LabVIEW program is based on DATA FLOW, now, until the subVI will finish execution (while loop will be stopped), the execution in Main VI will not proceed any further.
If you can pass the reference of 'XY Graph' inside the subVI, you'll be able to update the plot (placed on MAIN VI) from within subVI.

Hi,
You can link opportunities to each other, and thus connect sales projects and opportunities that are related to each other. This is particularly useful if you split a sales project into several sub projects, but you want all sub projects to be linked to the main sales project.
You can later display the links in the master and sub-opportunity, and branch to the linked opportunity directly.
Opportunity hierarchies are especially useful, if you:
· Wish to combine several sales projects that are connected
· Wish to clearly structure sales projects that consist of several subprojects
To be able to use these you will have to define an object relationship profile in Customizing to specify which objects can be linked to an opportunity (for example, sub-opportunities). In this activity, you can also specify which relationships should be displayed on the Details tab page, and which should also be displayed in the product table on the Products tab page. You then assign the object relationship profile to the required transaction type.
Two types of links are possible:
1. Linking Opportunities
A master opportunity is linked to by a sub-opportunity at header level.
This is useful, if you wish to group several corresponding sales projects (for example, projects in different countries), and you wish to assign these to a master opportunity.
Linking Opportunity Items to an Opportunity
2. The item for a master opportunity is linked to a sub-opportunity.
This procedure is recommended, for example, if you wish to manage a central opportunity, but you wish to have separate opportunities for the products contained in it. This allows you to enter all detailed information (for example, your own sales methodology) for all relevant opportunities as u201Csub projectsu201D.
You can also enter your own items for the sub-opportunity.

Simply way to make sub vi and call it form main vi

I'm a beginner and have major problems to make a sub vi and call it from main vi. I'm going to do a save dialog where is extra info for my saving and want to call dialog from main vi and after that save info to a file or database. I want that save dialog appears after i press button. I attach sub vi where is no functionality yet.

The first step is to connect the controls and indicators that you want to pass information to and from your main vi.
You right-click on the icon at the top right corner of the Front Panel and select "Show Connector". Typically put inputs at the left and outputs at the right side of the connector pane. Save it.
Open the main vi. Go to the block diagram. Click on "Select a vi" inside the Functions Palette. And choose the sub vi you prepared. Then wire it up inside your main vi.

Handling User Events in sub panel vis and main vis with same Event reference Number.

Hi All, Iam trying to work to handle events in both subpanel vi and main vi.
I have a main program, and 2 sub vi. I will load the sub VI in 2 sub panels in main vi. Each sub pael vi has controls on it.
I have created 2 User events for 2 sub panels vi. One user event consits of a Cluster with 2 Booleans (x & Y) and Other User Event consists of cluster of 2 unsigned 8 Numbers (a & b). These are created and registered in the main Vi and event register refnum is passed to the subpanel vi from the main panel vi.
I have Event structure in main panel and sub panel vis.
In one sub panel vi, When the value of one boolean(i.e. X) in the clusters changes, the Events structure in sub panel vi should perform some operation in sub panel vi only. When the value of other boolean (i.e. Y) changes it should perform some operation in main vi. I will try to Generate user event with the x value and Y value changed based on the control clicks in the sub panel vi.
The OTher panel vi should behave in the smae way when the a & b value changes.
The "Generate User Event" is working fine some times and sometimes there in no event triggered in the sub panel vi or main vi.
Please let me know what is the problem Ramesh.

There is a lot of talking, but not much understanding. It'd be better if you posted some example VI's of what you are trying to do so that the words will make sense.
One thing I can tell you is that you don't want to have two event structures handle the same event reference number. You want to have two event registrations with each one going to its own event structure.

Remote Site with its own CUCM Sub#2 and Router network failed and the site didnt keep its phones active, need some assistance

I have a Pub and 2 Sub's. Sub #1 is with the Pub, at the main site it is our TFTP server, Sub #2 is at a remote site with about 100 users along with a router and 2 PRI's for outbound calls. We had a network failure between the main site and the remote site and all phone lost their registration with the system until we were able to get the network back up. Currently the network is up in a crippled state on a 1 T-1 link while we troubleshoot the bigger issue with our 6mb pipe, however Sub #2 and its associated router arent talking with the PUB or other Sub. I'm still getting alerts every 30 minutes stating they are the server is down. I'm sure once the network is corrected this will bring everything back on line. My question is how can I prevent in this in the future. I need this site to be stand alone if the network goes down again. I was told by our vendor that if we had a subscriber at each site then we would need SRST licensing. I know something needs to be configured to make it all work, I'm just not sure what.

I already have a group at the site but it includes both the Pub and Sub from the main site as well as the Sub from the remote site. I would only have to remove the Sub from the main site, problem is I currently only have 1 TFTP server it runs on SUB #1, should I make SUB#2 a TFTP server as well and the phones are setup for DHCP at the main site, I'm going to need to have a DHCP server setup at the remote site as well. Correct?

Sharing A Solution - CREATING A SET OF SUB MENUS ON MAIN MENU IN iDVD

A recent question I posted got some attention from a number of people about how to create a set of sub menus on the main menu of an iDVD project. Evidently there are a number of us who tried to find a way to do this. I attended an Apple Store iDVD workshop and was fortunate enough to be the only one in attendance. So I had the Mac Genius’s attention for a full hour and he was very helpful. Here’s how to do this in detail. Good luck!

CREATING A SET OF SUB MENUS ON MAIN MENU IN iDVD
NOTE: when you import the iMovie file don’t add to the drop zones or add music to the sub menus until you finish this work!
Go to the map view. Once in map view choose to show the map view as a flow chart moving from left to right – it’s the left selection of the two which appear on the left-hand side of the sizing slider tool that determines how big the map view icons will appear. You will want to set that slider to the minimum size to make it easier to navigate. Select the main menu icon.
Open the main menu to edit it and select “Scene Selection” and then copy and paste it as many times as you have sub menus. Each sub menu can only hold 6 scenes so if you have 18 scenes you will have 3 sub menus which means you will copy the first one and then past it twice which will give you 3 sets of “Scene Selection” options on the main page.
After you create the set of “Scene Selections” return to map view. You will now have a copy of each group of sub menus under each sub menu. The entire film will be recreated for each set of “Scene Selections” that you have and you need to edit them out so that you have only one for each sub menu.
You CANNOT simply delete the groups in front of the one you want to keep. For instance, suppose you have 3 sub menu groups and you are at the first sub menu selection. You cannot simply delete the first two groups in front of the third one – it will delete all of the sub menus after the one you want.
(REPEAT FROM HERE) Go to the last group of sub menus and select the scenes for the first group of sub menus. In other words go down to the last grouping of sub menus, locate the first sub menu group and choose each scene within the group and delete each one. This will leave you with an empty sub menu. Do this for the next group and any subsequent group up to the last one. Do not delete the last group! This is the group you want at this level.
Once you have deleted the scenes you can cut and paste the last group of scenes to the first sub menu selection in the group. Once done you can delete the other sub menus groups that come after the first one.
Once you have the group of scenes moved to the first sub menu selection you need to change the name of the group of scenes. For instance if you are working on group 13-18 you need to change the group name from 1-6 which is what it is currently named.
Repeat these steps for each successive group moving up from the last one to the top with one change – you will choose to delete the last group from each successive sub menu since you have already saved it in the last group you worked on which is below the one upon which you are now working.
Once you are at the top group you will then simply be able to delete the other sub menus that appear beyond the first one.

Hi I have written both a main and sub report in V10 that shows grouped data by Name with a total count on each Name:-
EG:-
Name                               Numbers
Tim Smith                         10
John Smith                        15
I need to extract the data from the sub report that matches each of the Name into the Main report. So I can calculate a ratio.
EG
Name                               Numbers              (Numbers from Sub Report)
Tim Smith                         10                       10
John Smith                        15                       12
Is this possible?

you can use shared variables to pass the data from the sub to the main. in the knowledge base you can find instructions on creating these.
make sure you do not surpress the value in the sub or it wont pass through. place the variable in the main below the sub report.

Sub folders and Process multiple files in Photoshop Elements 10

I am looking to apply the same adjustments to numerous images in numerous sub-folders and overwrite the original images.
Using the Process Multiple Files options, I added the main folder (which contains no images) to the Source field, selected the Include All Subfolders tick-box, also selected the Same as Source tick-box (which warns you original files will be overwritten) and then completed the image adjustments I required. However, after running the process all the adjusted images were saved in the main folder and did not overwrite the originals contained in each sub-folder. Does anyone know if there is a setting I am missing to replace the images in the sub-folders or is this by design ?

No...
I think you are going to run great risks in trying to use batch process like 'process multiple files' or 'export' while relying on subfolder structures.
- the organizer is much more powerful with its database and keywords management than a folder structure organization,
- Batch processes are limited in Elements
- 'Good practice' calls for keeping originals intact.
What are you wanting to do exactly ? We might be able to suggest alternative workflows.

Write again sub-header and header for every start of new page in report

Hello experts,
In my report, I declared my line-count to be 0. I don't know if this is correct
