Sub Picture Problems HD project to SD build/burn for DVD Menu
Encore CS5 on OSX
Created a project for HD Blu-Ray that has sub pictures for buttons that work wonderfully when built and burned on Blu-ray, but when I use the same project and build and burn to SD DVD, the sub pictures are visible as horizontal lines with no chroma. This issue is prevelent in stand alone players, both blu-ray and DVD, but when played in the computer DVD player they are fine. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Welcome to the forum.
Did you keep the same HD Menus, and just Output to DVD, or did you alter your Menus for the SD Project?
Can you post a screen-cap of your Menu in PS, with the Layers Palette open, so that we can see the look of the Sub-picture Highlights?

Sub Picture problem in Encore CS6
I am working on my first bluray project. I made the Menu for Encore as I have make many in Photoshop.
The video is 1280 x 720 so I made the Menu 1280 x 720.
The problem is with the Highlight layers, but not all of them.
Here is a composite of 3 screen shots of a preview of the menu in Encore.
The top shows the left most button the Highlight shows only 3/4 of the button.
The middle shows how middle three buttons work fine.
The lower section shows the second from the right button, it does not work fully and part of the 6th button is on.
When I let Encore create a sub picture the same thing happened.
I have made sure that the GROUP boundaries do not over lap. I have moved the 1st, 5th and 6th button further away from each other but it still happens.
Anyone have any ideas?
ThanksI know this is old but just in case someone sees this and has the same problem. I am using 5.5 and I found this same issue. Upon playback before making it a dvd, portions of the highlight boxes were gone. The 4th outline of the box was not appearing. My project was a 2 dvd set and I had saw this problem in the first dvd and was going to find the answer but ended up burning it to dvd and the boxes looked as they were supposed to. Very strange but glad that it worked.

Jagged font problem - iMovie to iDVD to then burn a DVD
I have iMovie 11 - v 9.0.2 and iDVD 7.1.1.
I've imported photos and audio into iMovie to create a slideshow with transitions. All works well there.
When I then export to iDVD and preview it on screen, everything looks great.
But when I burn to DVD and play in a DVD player, the fonts look terrible - so they are not rendering properly.
Font I am using is Coolvetica. It was in the iDVD package. I opened up the iDVD package and copied the font into Fontbook to make it available in iMovie.
Any advice on what I'm doing wrong?

However, the overall quality of my DVD when display on a 42 inch plasma HDTV is poor---looks like a photo that has been copied on a color copier--too contrasty and with color shifting to yellow. I have created three new projects from the original video, which is 47 minutes long, one DVD in each of Best Performance, High Quality and Professional Quality. The Best Performance is terrible. However, neither the High or the Professional quality is much better, other than the fonts looking better. Both formats result in high contrast poor images and color shift to yellow.
I have shared the iMovie in the Media Browser in HD 1080 and in 720.
I noticed that all the DVDs didn't seen to write more than about 1/2 inch on the outside edge of the DVD. The size of the TS-Video folder on the High and Professional DVDs take up only 2.82 gig. It seems that iDVD is compressing the video more than necessary, leaving a lot of unused space on a standard 4.7 gig DVD.
Interestingly, DVD's made of much shorter videos and produced in the Best Performance mode on iDVD look very good when played on the Plasma TV.
Both the High and the Professional DVDs look very good on my McBook Pro and MacMini screens.
Given the restriction of a standard DVD player (480p) I wonder if I should share the movie in this format. -

HD-DVD is a dead format. It may play on your mac - or an HD-DVD set top player, if you happen to have one - but nowhere else. If you just want playback on your mac, compress to h.264 with your current frame size. If you want a DVD it will have to be SD and Mpeg-2 as Shawn already explained.

Idvd project with video and slideshow for dvd-rom file access
working on an idvd project with both a video section and photos in a few photo galleries. its' a slightly more complex project, but still only 2gb on a 4gb disc. After we burn (with all dvd-rom contents checked, and advance>edit dvd-rom contents shows photo files all there) the finished disc doesn't have files available in the dvd-romcontents! its' driving us mad as simpler projects are burning properly, with both photo and video files available. Could there be some kind of conflict occurring? does anyone have any ideas?!

It sounds like Windows Movie Maker Live was used. The regular WMM will Export to DV-AVI Type I, which will Import into PrPro much better.
I would recommend converting the WMA/WMV to DV-AVI, and Importing that into a DV NTSC (if you are in NTSC-land) Project.
Then, you would use Encore to do the DVD authoring. There are several ways to get the material on your Sequence into Encore. ADL (Adobe Dynamic Link) is probably the easiest way to do this.
What is your exact workflow from PrPro, into Encore?
What brand of blank media are you burning the DVD to?

PS - Multiplexing is the function of combining the Audio and the Video into one file. There are usually two choices, "None" and then often "DVD." For None, you will get two separate files - one for the Audio and one for the Video. With "DVD" you should get a muxed (combined) file. Actually, the separate Audio and Video is the preferred way, if one is doing an Export from PrPro, and then an Import to Encore. One would Import the Video into Encore as a Timeline, and the Audio as an Asset. In Encore, just drag the Audio file from the Project Panel to the appropriate Timeline, where it will snap into place. -
Image shakes and picture has to much blue effect when burned on DVD
I edited a 40 minutes movie with Final Cut Express with lots of different transitions. The results are great in Final Cut on my computer screen but when I burned it on a DVD and watched it on a TV screen the image is jumpy on every transitions and whenever the camera moves quickly. I also noticed that the image is to blueish (outside scenes) Colors were perfect when I worked on it in Final Cut.
I have Quicktime version 7.0.1 and an iMAC G5 and burned the DVD using Toast

iMAC G5 Mac OS X (10.4.4)Yesterday I made a DVD of an 8 minute video. It took 28 minutes to process and burn, so your 3 hours seems about right.
I used iDVD at the Best Quality setting. If you use the Best Performance setting it will encode much faster though there may be a microscopic reduction in quality which you would probably never notice.
I exported my FCE timeline to QuickTime Movie and de-selected the "Make Movie Self-Contained" option.
My DVD contained transitions which played back flawlessly.

Builds warns for missing menu background image
Hi guys,
I'm having trouble with building a project. I have four menus; two for each language.
The first one (Swedish) works fine, scripting and branching is OK.
The second one (English) does not work at all. Even though I have set background and overlay image in the English menu(s), build warns that no image is set.
What should I do?
In my other post the English branch is not run at all, even if everything seems to be correct in Simulator, it does not work in DVD player.I'm using the UB version. The assets are all there, have double-checked.
I always use TIFFs for backgrounds and overlays, since layered menu could cause problems. (If not, they are at least slower on playback).
Alternate language menus? You must be joking, right? I would NEVER trust the viewer to set up their stand-alone DVD or computer to match language settings. Nope, plain old "duplicate" menus, with different graphics and scripting to stay in either menu branch.
I did the whole thing from scratch, using all the same assets. Now it works just fine.
This is a first time for me.... hopefully the last, too! -
I want to burn a DVD and keep the pictures in the files
I am using iPhoto 8. I have 46 albums that I created for one vacation. I have organized all of the pictures from 5 cameras and want to burn a DVD keeping the pictures in those albums so others can create a slideshow from them. When I burned a DVD the files did not show up, so all of the work was for nothing. How can I burn the DVD and keep the files intact so other people do not need to do the same work that I have already completed?
As Terence mentioned for those with Macs and iPhoto select the albums you've created and use the Share ➙ Burn menu option. This will create a mini library on the disk that others can view in iPhoto and run slideshows from the photos in the album or copy those albums into their library for more control.

In iMovie when I move my cursor through pictures in the project, I have an empty screen or it shows the first picture only..what might be the problem?

Encore CS3 crash when i click Build (SWF, BluRay, DVD Burn/Image/Folder) or Check project
So I'm finally done with my DVD. Now i want this burned to a dvd or make an image file. Each time i hit BUILD or START (Check proj) the program quits and I'm left with the normal OS X message: The application Adobe Encore quit unexpectedly >> Ignore - Report... - Relaunch
My DVD is not that fancy but i got a menu with 3 buttons made in PS with a pointer highlight and a animating background made in After Effects (using dynamic link) with some music. All of the buttons link to After effects comps with dynamic link. All of the after effects compositions are transcoded and works within the DVD preview (except the DVD menu background wont play, and i got a feeling it will play when i export an image or DVD). And all the After Effects comps links back 2 the menu when done. So there should be no error in the project flowchart.

So i hit build and Encore quits, shut down, finada (Every time!). No matter what out put settings i use. I've exported DVD's from encore before on this computer without problems.

Don't know if this any help but hope anybody got some ideas. I've been trying to look for a solution on the forums, but without any luck.
By the way, I'm using a Mac Pro v3,1 (early 2008) with 2 x 2,8ghz quads, 10GB memory, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (512mb) and plenty of disk space.Hey, i think if there could be any of the possibilities you talk about, it might have been a naming error. All files i created had the same name in the new project as in the old one. But i used 1 asset arrow that i copy pasted from a library button "Red facets button" and shift pasted on my own buttons as highlight (paste sub picture). In the first project i did not do this as a straight forward thing, a lot of deleting and adding because i had never done it before and there might have happened something with the naming of the arrow i pasted. I used the same arrow in the second project but without messing with delete, paste all the time. But some how there is no problems now, just something wrong with the last project file =S
Not so important:
I also noticed while building the new project i once got an "General error", not sure why but happened after a random crash. And 2 get rid of it i had to delete the menu and make it again (i could not edit anything in the menu without getting the error). I rebuild the menu and had another crash when exiting the program, because i thought my computer needs to boot after 2 days online. When i reopened the project i got "General error" in the menu again, but after some clicking it didn't show up (random). Finally i got my project setup and everything works, i did the copy past as sub picture as a straight forward thing. -
Problem in project system report ZPS_PROJSUMMARY
i am working with a report ZPS_PROJSUMMARY which extracts all project summary report.now problem is it is extracting las financila years (2006 ) closed WBS element also with this years WBS elements. this problem happening in production only. this is not coming in pre production.in pre production it is deleting all the previous years WBS using this subroutine perform process_delete_child using it_report-pspnr which is based on condition if l_status_fyear lt s_fyear-low.

Sub pictures can't be seen on DVD
I've created a project in Encore CS3 and everything works properly in preview. However, when I burn a DVD the rollovers (sub-pictures) are not visible. The DVD will work properly on my laptop but not in a DVD player. I've tried both DVD-R and DVD+R blanks. Thanks for any assistance.
Please tell us a bit more about the Menu used, and the Buttons' Sub-picture Highlights. A screen-cap of the Menu in PS, or the Menu Editing Panel, with the Layer Sets opened will be very helpful.
Also, what brand of blank media are you using?
That you get correct Highlights on the Computer, but not on the set-top player might indicate an issue with the burned DVD and the set-top player. Problems can come from using media, like Memorex, TDK and store brands.
Still, there might be something in the Button Layer Sets' Sub-picture Highlight Layers, and the screen-cap should rule those out quickly.

I am having a great deal of problems with Data coruption in slide shows after I have burned a DVD in iDVD. I have changed burn rate from best to 1X with no difference in the coruption. I have the quality set to professional with no improvement. The size of the project is near 3.95, so it should fit on a single layer burn. Should I use either iMovie to create the slide show or "Photo to Movie"? Also, can anyone comment on how I preserve the highest quality picture resolution with a slide show? If I do use iMovie or Photo to Movie, the file size should exceed the 4.2 size so, will I have to buy new DVD's which are capable to handle the double layer burn and upto 8 GB? What DVD's are recommended? Any preferred brand? Are there problems with burning with double layer? I read on this blog of numerous problems.
DVDs are LOW resolution by today's standards - only about 0.3 megapixels - so there is no way they your images on a TV set will look "High Definition". See Preparing images for iDVD slideshows at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/6675.html for recommendations on image sizes to use. Using larger images won't give you better quality, andf in some cases, will lower you image quality because the Quicktime resizing that occurs isn't the best.

How to create a project in Flexbuilder for the hybrid store
sample application.
I downloaded the source code of hybridstore application,
Now i have to create a project for it to run that application
in my system,
will you please tell me how to create a project for this
sample.
I have also read the readme.html file. but i could not follow
exactly what they are saying.
what i did is, I unzipped the source code into a folder
hybridstore.
I opened the flexbuilder : File -- new -- flexproject ( i
have selected) then i have given name to my file (hybridstore) ,
and set the path to the hybridstore folder where the source code
exists.
but it as created hybridstore.mxml file also.
it is not working.
will you please till me how to create project for this
application.
I have created project for other samples like restaurent
finder, dashboard. they are working fine.
I got problem with this sample only.

Prevent Flex Builder from generating an HTML wrapper: select
