Question

I've two tables
new_system
system_id current_status
1001 D
1002 D
1003 D
system_device
system_id device_id current_status
1001 3002 R
1003 2003 R
1004 2332 R
I want to insert the values into the system_device table with this condition new_system.system_id = system_device.system_id. I want to insert row with current_status of new_system.
This could the required output.
system_device
system_id device_id current_status
1001 3002 R
1003 2003 R
1004 2332 R
1001 3002 D
1003 2003 D
This is the query I had written. But I got 'invalid expression' error.
insert into system_device (system_id, device_id, current_status) values
(select new_system.system_id, device_id, new_system.current_status
from new_system, system_device
where new_system.system_id = system_device.system_id);
would anyone please let me konw what is wrong in the query.
