Sub templates and blank pages

Hi All,
I wondering if anyone has solved this issue. I have one base template call template A and mulitple subtemplates let say b,c. Now A can call b or c based on a particular condition if the condition is satisifed. This works very well. However, Since A has these section breaks (cont) for B and C if the condition is not met I get a blank page. Is there any way to suppress this page if the condition is not met? I have made sure that there is no space after the calls to the subtemplates and work with the various breaks on the template A. Any pointers would be most appreciated...
thanks,
Matt

One thing I forgot to add is template A's section before the call has two columns. The calls to the subtemplates B and C only contain 1 column. So, there need to be a section break between A and B/C else the format of the dual column in A is lost.

  • How to create a template and child pages using mockup designed in Fireworks

    I have created a website in Fireworks, and exported it to use in Dreamweaver.  How do I use the Master page in Fireworks as my template page in Dreamweaver?  When I bring in the .htm files from fireworks, it tries to bring in the entire page.  I have taken 25 hours of online training for Fireworks and Dreamweaver through Lynda.com, but there is not a specific video that tells you how to get your website from Fireworks into Dreamweaver if you want to utilize the Template and child page features.

    Use Fireworks to crop, slice and optimize images only.  DO NOT allow any graphics app to generate your HTML code for you.  This results in poorly formed code and rigid layouts that invariably fall apart when you attempt to edit them in DW.  Fireworks / Photoshop generated pages are for quick prototypes or design comps to show the client.  They do not work well on production sites.

    Anytime I try to make a new sub account, and I click on "Sub Accounts" I get this error:

  • Template and child pages do not match

    Hi, there are several issues here and I'm pretty sure they're linked so I'll tell you them all. I was recently editing my website and I was changing the title of a page a created. I noticed that after I changed the name, when I clicked off it it just went back to the default title in the template. I then looked up how to sort and I think I changed a few bit of coding (I can't remember what though, sorry. It seemed to work. Then I decided to add another page which I listed in the navbar... when I got round to pressing save on the template, this happened....
    (http://ScrnSht.com/vttvzm)
    I'm sorry to sound so vague but I can't really remember what I did. Anyway, it says this for nearly every page when you save the template. I've noticed some of the coding on the template and the child pages do not match. This is the code on the template.

    Is there any way I can just create a new template to match the pages already created?
    Sorry if I sound silly but this is my first post on these forums and I'm not really sure what you need to know.
    Gabriel

    You can do everything, (and I mean absolutely EVERYTHING) in a regular HTML page that you can do in a DWT, and you don't have any of the parent/child/editable/non-editable/nested/nesting region problems that you will get with DWT's until you are very highly proficient at coding HTML and know exactly how to lay one out from the start so these things don't happen.
    DWT's are good for putting together a "mockup" to show a client, and have a good idea of the layout you will eventually use. They are also good for a teaching tool (the only time I ever created one was part of a class). If you have a group of people working on a site together, they are helpful too, but if none of the above apply, just make a plain HTML page and "Save As" when you need to make additional pages from it.

  • Assembly of pdfs - "insufficent data for an image" and blank page

    Hello.
    We are using Adobe Livecycle Assembler 8.2 to assemble a set of pdfs uploaded by end-users together with a pdf that our application create. We have been using the assembler and pdf generator for å few years.
    Lately we have had a couple of situations that our custoumer is not very happy with.
    Situation 1:
    Assembly of 5 pdf is sucessful, but when we open the assembled pdf, one page (representing one attachemnt upload by an end-user) is displayed as an blank page. The attachment is correctly displayed in the table of content with a bookmark to the blank page. The first time scrolling over the blank page in Adobe Reader X, a popup with the message "Insufficent data for an image" is shown. Our applications has no knowledge that the assembly is not sucessful, so its difficult to identify the problem. It seems like the pdf is a scanned image (Producer: AXIS 70U Network Document Server). Have also viewed the assembled pdf in another pdf-reader, but still the same blank page and popup.
    Situation 2:
    Assembly of a few pdfs is sucessful, but when we open the assembled pdf, one page (representing one attachemnt upload by an end-user) is displayed as an blank page. So fare same as situation 1. However, the attachment is not displayed in the table of content and no popup is given when scrolling over the blank page representing the attachment, just a blank page.
    I am looking at a way of detecting pdf that would cause these problems (if I can't fix the pdfs). Maybe there is a way (programtically with iText?) to check if the pdf contains fonts and if not, regard it as a scanned image and mark it as problematic (most scanned pdfs are assembled just fine). Earlier on we had another problem when assembly pdfs, we then got an exception "PDFUnsupportedFeatureException: FlateDecode Filter". Our solution was then to use PDF Generator to convert all uploaded pdfs(attachments) to ps, then back to pdf and reassemble. This approch also works in situation 1 and 2. However we have no failing applications with exceptions now... Doing the pdf2ps2pdf for all attachments is very time consuming and not a good solution for our customer.
    Do anybody have a clue what is wrong with our pdfs? Is there a way of solving this when doing the assembly? Any DDX-tags that might do anything nice?
    The data in the pdfs are sensitive information, so I can't attach them to this post. Can send the metadata if requested.
    Any response would be appreciated.

    Haven't seen that error before.  How are you converting the data after the function call if at all, i.e., are you moving to an XSTRING before handing it off to the web app?
    The things I would suggest which may be stating the obvious are:
    - Download the PDF locally after conversion with GUI_DOWNLOAD and check for the error
    - Does the same issue occur with program RSTXPDFT4 or fm RSPO_RETURN_SPOOLJOB or a SAPOffice (direct) conversion?
    - Remove the logo and try and/or take the original logo, reconvert it to BMP and upload it again in SE78
    - What happens if you change the destination device in the call, if anything?
    - Does OSS note 1320163 apply?

  • Sub Templates and Watermarks

    Hi,
    I need to do a BI Publisher report that uses different images for different companies.
    So, i though i would use sub templates.
    The main template is the fields, etc...
    and the sub templates are just the different company logos, images, etc....
    But when i run the report i can only see the fields and no watermark.
    Is it possible to do it this way or is there another way??

    Hi,
    If it's just images (i.e. logo),.. check on this one (dynamic images in a template):
    http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/05/dynamic_images.html
    Also, here's for the sub-template should you want to continue with it..

  • Mailing Label and Blank Page

    Hi,
    I created a mailing labels report using Report 10g. When I run the report with format RTF and open it in Word, the first page if great, but then it inserts a blank page, followed by the third page being correct.
    Is there any way to delete the blank page?
    Thanks in advance.
    VC

    this might be caused by MS word. check the page settings and the margin settings word assumes when you open the document.
    thanks,
    ph.

  • Separate color output and blank pages

    Good morning community,
    I have a little question for you today.
    How can I output a separate color PDF with blank pages included?
    Unfortunately, as I choose separation in the output menu, the chance to include blank pages (usually available in the general menu) disappears.
    Instead, I need to generate a spot color PDF with all the pages, even the blank ones – in order to grant to the final printer the correct imposition.
    Thank you very much,
    Aulica

    thank you rob day, great idea, with just one strategic move.
    the reason why I need a separate pdf consists in "coedition", that is when I work with co-publishers and I work modifying only the plate of the text (in a specific language), that stays on a separate spot black. Therefore the co-publishers ask me to generate the relative spot black pdf.
    Another solution is to put my text in a separate layer, but in this case I receveid layout files from a designer who didn't distinguish correctly art and text into different layers, so the work to separate them now, would be too long.
    However It sounds me strange that It isn't possible to output with blank pages in separate colors...

  • HP 932 XL - new ink and blank pages

    My problem is quite complex - I am a new user of HP 6700. I bought the printer second-handed - it was relatively new though - only 700 pages printed. There were almost used setup inks inside. I printed a test page and it was alright. I figured that everything was OK with the printer and ordered original HP 932 XL.
    When I got it, one thing had disturbed me - when I opened the box I noticed that the cartridge wasn't protected with anything - no safety plastic, no stickers, nothing.  My first question - is  that usual with the 932 ink? My previous printer was HP 3070 and the cartridges were always secured with safety plastic.
    After installing the cartridge, it was recognized as original and full, but when I wanted to print something - blank pages. I've tried printhead cleaning several times and sometimes on those test pages something black had appeared but it was unreadable.
    Then I again installed the almost used setup ink and it printed yet another page with the proper quality. Then again I installed the "new" ink, and nothing. I used almost a third of the new ink for printhead cleaning and still nothing.
    So I wonder - is that a problem with the new cartridge or may that be a problem with the second-hand printer that I bought?

    Hi @pablo12000,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    I am sorry to hear that your new HP 6700 is printing blank pages with your new ink cartridges, but I am happy to help!
    I would recommend going through this guide, Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-....
    If that does not resolve the issue, and the printer prints fine with the setup cartridges and not the new ones, then it is mostly likely an issue with the new cartridges. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836 for options for replacing the ink. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Hope this clears things up for you, and have a great day!

  • How to visualize relationship between templates and instanciated pages?

    Dear all,
    I built about one year ago a complex site using DW CS3 templates and nested templates (currently using CS4).
    I would now like to modify this site, but cannot remember the nested structure I defined between my various levels of nested templates, nor what instantiates pages derive from what nested template.
    This is probably obvious, but I cannot seem to find a way to visualize the relationship between the nested templates:
    - what templates is the parent of what nested template?
    - what page derives from what nested template?
    I have already spent two hours reading various help pages... nothing... How can this be done?
    Thank you in advance,
    Regards.
    Bernard

    The easiest way that I know of is this:
    Go to a page that is based on a template
    In Code View, select the beginning of the Template call code at the top of the Head, e.g. <!-- InstanceBegin template="/ (use only this fragment to get a list of the entire site pages that are based on templates)
    Search (Ctrl-F) Entire Current Local Site, Source Code, Find All
    The Results Panel will then display all pages that carries that code
    To save this list as a file, click the disk icon that appears two down from the flippy triangle on the left side of the Results Panel
    This will give you a list of all pages based on Templates, and will also indicate...in the "Matched Text" column of the Results, the Template that is in use for each page.
    You will notice that the files are listed out in alpha order, root folder top level first, then successive folders, including the Templates folder. Listings of the Templates folder show the Nested Templates and, to the right, the Templates they are based on.
    This is not a one-button solution, but should serve.
    A suggestion for your future Templates and Nested Templates is to be very explicit when you name them, for instance, "masterTemplate", "indexTemplate.dwt", "innerTemplate.dwt", "galleryTemplate.dwt", as suits your site.
    When I prepared a site for use with Contribute, every page was slightly different, and I controlled variations by making different Nested Templates. I ended up with practically one Template per html page, but it was easier to control the client's Contribut-ions that way.

  • Missing and blank pages in my .ascm ebook in Adobe Digital Editions

    Hello,
    I am having some trouble with an ebook I just bought on booktopia.com.au
    Some pages don't seem to be loading. It is not just blank white pages, but no page visible at all in some places, just the grey background of Adobe Digital Editions.
    I found this adobe troubleshooting page which seems very promising:
    Blank pages or missing images when you read digital content (Digital Editions)
    yet when I follow the instructions Adobe Reader 7 is not an option to download, even though that is what this page tells me to do. As it is, I have Adobe Reader XI, but since the file I am having trouble with is an .ascm file, not a .pdf, I don't know how Adobe Reader would help at all.
    I am using Windows 8.1 on a PC.
    If anyone could help me get to the bottom of this, I would be very grateful.

    There might be two parts to the answer.  First, from what you saw, you can
    get ebooks to ADE without the ereader attached.  The ereader might not be
    supported by ADE, and because you've 'been through the steps several
    times', I think that is probably the reason.
    Second, the ebook you're attempting to transfer (which is what I'm reading
    into your wording) may be DRM-protected, and may not be transferrable.  You
    can check this by looking at the Item Info of the ebook.  When you're in
    Library mode, put your cursor on the small arrow next to the ebook name.  A
    drop-down menu will appear, and you can choose 'Item Info' from the list.
    Click on that, and a screen will appear showing you where the ebook is and
    the properties assigned by the publisher to it.  If the 'copy' parameter
    says no, then you have your answer.
    Hope this helps!

    HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Check to see if you have any other plugins or input managers that might be causing the problem.
    Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

  • While online, a new firefox page appears with a "new tab" heading and blank page. why?

    I'll be visiting my e-mail I select to read an email then another mozilla firefox session with a blank page and New Tab heading top left corner over the top of my exisiting page I have to close that tab and then it appears again so I close it then when I scroll it appears again and again. Frustrating!

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    Did you define a local site folder in DW?
    Templates won't work if your site isn't defined.

  • Spry Menu Bars, Templates and Current Page Indicators

    Hello,
    If you have a spry menu bar in your design, then create a template, how do you then go about making the menu bar have a current page indicator on each page created from the template?
    Thanks,
    Ferg.

    Can I send you on a different path? This solution will only be required in a non-editable area of the DWT.
    First we write a function to initialse the page
    function InitPage(){
    Spry.$$('#MenuBar1 li').forEach(function(node){
        var a=node.getElementsByTagName("a")[0]; // finds all a elements inside the li, but we only want the first so [0]
        if(a.href == window.location){
            Spry.Utils.addClassName(node,"activeMenuItem");
    The function compares the URL of the page with the link in the menubar and if they are both the same, it will add an 'activeMenuItem, class to the menuitem.
    Next we nee a trigger to activate the function. This is done with a load listener as per
    Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
    Now we need to ensure that our active menuitem looks different, by assigning a couple of style rules as in the following. The !important needs to be there to override the JS.
    .activeMenuItem a {
        background:#a59a84 !important;
        color:#ffffff !important;
    And lastly we need to add SpryDOMUtils.js as the JS script that we based our JS scripts on
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryDOMUtils.js"></script>
    The whole thing will look like
    <!DOCTYPE HTML>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet">
    <style>
    .activeMenuItem a {
        background:#a59a84 !important;
        color:#ffffff !important;
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <ul id="MenuBar1" class="MenuBarHorizontal">
      <li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#">Item 1</a>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="#">Item 1.1</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Item 1.2</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Item 1.3</a></li>
        </ul>
      </li>
      <li><a href="#">Item 2</a></li>
      <li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#">Item 3</a>
        <ul>
          <li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#">Item 3.1</a>
            <ul>
              <li><a href="#">Item 3.1.1</a></li>
              <li><a href="#">Item 3.1.2</a></li>
            </ul>
          </li>
          <li><a href="#">Item 3.2</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Item 3.3</a></li>
        </ul>
      </li>
      <li><a href="#">Item 4</a></li>
    </ul>
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js"></script>
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryDOMUtils.js"></script>
    <script>
    function InitPage(){
    Spry.$$('#MenuBar1 li').forEach(function(node){
        var a=node.getElementsByTagName("a")[0]; // finds all a elements inside the li, but we only want the first so [0]
        if(a.href == window.location){
            Spry.Utils.addClassName(node,"activeMenuItem");
    Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    </script>
    </body>
    </html>
    Or see it live here http://shoguncarco.com.au/index.php where the function has been externalised in http://shoguncarco.com.au/js/plugins.js
