hi,
u have to delete all the records of that particulat material.
for getting the records, try to change the UOM in the mm02, then it will give u the error and in the upper right left corner u will get the tab by display error.
once u delete/clear the error it will allow u to change the same.
(u should not have the stock to change the UOM)
how evere if the UOM is relative, u can maintain alternative UOM in additional data tab in masters)

may be some entries got not cancelled properly and entries got locked.
Just check in SM12 if no entries are locked.

Change of UOM in material master?

Dear SAPIENTS,
I created a material with UOM (M)just now and than assigned to inspection plan. Now I am changing the UOM of material to Nos.. I was getting following
Error: The base unit of measure cannot be changed
The reasons for this are
Routings already exist that are assigned to the material.
   RType          RtgGrp            GpC         Plant
   Q             QRW6MTQT        1            1100
SO I removed the material from inspection plan. But still I am getting the same error. Can anybody tell me the reason behind it?

Hi Kaushal,
You need to delete it from the table also.
The table is MAPL
To delete entry from table
   1. Run trx SE16n (preferable) or SE16.
   2. Enter the Table MAPL.
   3. Enter the group and counter number.
   4. Now in the command window (Where you type the T Codes) type "_&sap_edit_". And press enter.
   5. A message such "SAP editing function is activated" will flash.
   6. Execute
   7. Delete the entry.
Then change the UOM

Change of UOM in PO after GR

Hi Friends,
One of our client wants to change the UOM in PO. But they have done GR for part quantity. So it is not allowing to change UOM. So I have told them to reverse the GR. After reversing the GR if it not allows to change the UOM what can I do? please tell me.

I am already changing the UOM in the same include and in the subroutine "USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAP". But it is again over writing in the standard program. What I need to do, to remain same UOM.

CHANGING OF UOM FOR EXISTING MATERIALS

Dear SAPient's,
We have a material code (Bolt) wherein current uom is in No & enduser transactions is already done upto GRN level.
Now that end user team wants to change the UOM from NOs to KG for existing material code(Bolt).
Is this possible, if so how to do it?
What is impact if we change UOM.
Please help.

I don't get you. If you are confident that you can't have KG as an alternative unit and you have to have it as the base UoM of the material, then you don't have a choice but to change the base UoM. For this check e.g. the link that I provided before.
Cosequences? Well, since the material has to be completely "clean" before you can change the BUoM, all new objects/transactions referring to this material after the change will use the new BUoM, so I can't anticipate any issues.

When you want to handle the material quantity in other units other than it's Base Unit, then alternate unit should be maintained.
Alternate unit is decided on the basis of area of it's usage.
If A material is having base unit PC and you want to sale it in KG then mainain the Sale Unit as KG by providing the conversion between PC and KG.
In the same way Order unit is the unit when you want to procure the material in the unit other than Base unit.
For maintaining alternate unit, it's corresponding conversion with Base unit is necessary to maintain.
You can change the base unit of material unless and untill no transactions are done on that material.

Change of UOM(Material mangement.)

I have created a material , which is in released state. I tried to change the UOM of the material , it throws a error message saying ' Unable to Change UOM' since it is attached to a BOM.
I would like to change the UOM . How can i ?

Hi sandeep,
Using CS15 you can check which BOMs contain your material. By CS20 (mass) / CS02 you can delete your item from related BOMs and after that hopefully you can change the BUoM.

Change alternate UOM

Hi,
The client want to change alternate UOM after doine Mvt 105, from 1 ea = 10 to 1 ea = 6. They have already done Mvt 105, even after cancelling the Mvt 105 the new alternate UOM is not coming.
Any idea.

For changing the base UOM, the basic criterias are :
1. No stock available for the current & previous period
2. No open items (PO, SO, etc..) against these material
You will be able to change the base UOM once the above criterias are met.

Change of UOM in Product Master with outstanding documents.

Hi all,
SRM allows the change of base UOM for product master even though there is outstanding document using that particular product master. Shouldn't it be the case whereby change of base UOM for product master is not allowed if there is outstanding documents?
Furthermore, I did a document check for the outstanding document and no error/warning message complaining that UOM in document does not match UOM as defined in product master. Any idea if this is correct?

if you could change UOM in SRM master data , then it may not sync with ECC.
i think best practice master data change in source system and synchronise with srm system.

Error during change in UOM

Dear Experts,
When i tried to change UOM in material master, it is showing basic uom cannot be changed. the reason for this is "Material staging requirements already exist".
I have taken out all the stocks and no documents exist now,but still it is showing this error. What could be the cause for this ? Kindly help me.

Check in RESB table for that component, the field BAUGR, it gives the pegged requirement. Also just go to MD04 for that material & see which requirement is open.
I am sure, there would be some open need which still exists, which is calling for this, unless ofcourse there was some table entry deletion & therefore an inconsistency exists.
also check any reservatons are open

Changing Items UOM

Hello
There is some inventory item which is an ingredient of some formula.
After i change UOM of this item, the ingredient`s UOM in the formula is not modified automatically. Is it a bug? If so, is there some patch i should to apply?

If u can try with Mass Search and Replace function (Nav--> Forumlator-->Forumula-->Mass Search and Replace) wherein you can do all the Forumlas/Recipes....
]Note : But provided] if you change you Ingredient name itself with new UOM so that all the formulas/recipes u can replace well and in this form many more options are defined to replace.
Please try.....Once I did in Minining Project, in fact the item was replaced and not UOM as in you case now.

Conversion change for UOM in PO

Dear All,
There are some PO which are posted dated 14.07.2010 for which the uom conversion is 3 pcs <=> to 1 CSE as what is set in the material master for that material selected in PO. But for the same material for which PO posted after 29.03.2010, UOM conversion for the PO is changed to 12 pcs <=> 1 cse but conversion in material master is same as 3 pcs <=> to 1 CSE. but only in PO it is dislaying as 12 instaed as 3 pcs.
Also there was some scheduled Transport window on 14.07.2010 which could have make some changes.
Kindly help where could and how could we trace the issue or its technical issue.

As per the analysis, the PO is created from PR and not from Contract. Also for the PO created on 14.07.2009 and PO created on 22.06.2010 has the same inforecord and has the same conversion factor as in material master set i.e. 1cse = 3 pcs but in PO dated 22.06.2010 its diplaying it as 1 cse = 12 pcs.

Change pricing UOM for sales order line

Hi,
I'm on release 12 and would like to have a sales order which is ordered in pieces and priced in meters.
Therefore I want to have a sales order line with order quantity UOM in pieces and the pricing quantity UOM in meters.
I'm however not able to change the pricing UOM in the sales order line form.
Is there anyway in which I can change the pricing UOM in the sales order line form without changing the order quantity UOM?
Or should the order quantity UOM always have the same value as the pricing quantity UOM ?

I'm able to create sales order with order quantity UOM in pieces and with price quantity UOM in meters.
The issue I have is that I want to be able to change the price quantity UOM to another UOM just like I'm able to do with the order quantity UOM.
This is required because we want to have pricing for European customers in meters and for US customers in feet. At the moment the vaue of the price quantity UOM defaults to meters for the sales order line but I want to change this manually to feet for US customers.
What I would like is that I can change the price quantity UOM of a sales order line from meters to feet just like I can change the order quantity UOM from pieces to for example boxes.
When I use the sales order line form or when I use the order API, I'm now not able to change the price quantity UOM.
Is is possible to change the price quantity UOM from a sales order line to another UOM (and therefore overwrite the default price quantity UOM) ?
