Subclips different on export

I taped a conference with 2 cams. I synced the cameras and let them run the full hour. Cam 2 I split into subclips for cutaways on V2.
All is good in the timeline but after export the V2 cutaways are not the part of the tape I subclipped. Not even close. It's a completely different part of the tape.
Anyone seen this before?

Version of FCP? Format of material. Frame rate of material. Sequence settings. How can you expect us to help without this basic info?

  • Why am I getting a "-01" after my differently named Exports in Illustrator CS4?  i.e.: JPEG and PNG files.

Again, the files I am Exporting are assigned different names than the CS4 Illustrator file and/or any other files in destination Folder.
    Thx.

OK. Just tested not using "Use Artboards" and it did not add "01".
Odd that it started doing that after several years of not doing that.
I'll just have to add a box around the Page edges so it will crop correctly for me.
    Live and learn, Scott.

  • Work area colours different to exported colours?

I have a wierd problem. When working within photoshop i can choose colours that i want but they show up a bit lighter on the screen in the work area, and when i click to export or save as the colours are shown a little darker and more saturated.
The colours on the export are actually the right shade, so they must be showing wrong within photoshop while i work on a document. I've never had this propblem in any other version of photoshop, only CS5 and i'm wondering if there is some setting or somehting i can change to have the colours be the same on export and while i'm working on the document, because it's very frustrating when the colours i picked turn out to be different when i save an image.
    Could someone please help me?

It sounds as though the problems you are describing are rooted within the fact that Photoshop is a color managed application, and (depending on settings) will respond to the color profile of the image and the color profile of your monitor.  To achieve the behavior you want (things not appearing unexpectedly different) we kind of need more info...
What are your Color preferences (Edit - Color Settings...).
What color profile(s) accompany the images you edit (i.e., where do you get them, how do you open them).
What operating system are you running?
What video interface (make/model/drivers) are you using?
    Have you calibrated your monitor?
What are your goals (e.g., see the same thing on the monitor as Internet Explorer, or another app)?
Take heart:  Photoshop can be set up to deliver consistent, expected results per your goals, and it will help to understand why you're seeing what you're seeing.

  • Why are my edited jpegs different after export?

I have a really strange problem that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere else on the web
It's kind of difficult to understand but I will explain as best I can. So my friend and I have just started a photography business and things are going great. I use a Canon Rebel T3i with either a standard, portrait or telephoto lens. I use Lightroom 5 and after I finish editing my photos, I export them and they look lovely in my folder (I have an Asus laptop and Windows 8 if that helps) however when I upload them to websites like Pixieset or Facebook, the quality of the photo looks nothing like the quality I had edited as. The effects, presets and any other adjustments made to my exported photo become extremely dull and it was like the edit was never done. Even at the highest quality, my photos still look nothing like I edited them!
And what's weirder? My friend uses the exact same program, has the exact same OS and also uses Facebook and Pixieset, along with very similar presets effects etc. and her photos look exactly like they have been edited. I don't understand what's up with that!!! And of course just my luck I am unable to insert a screen capture to show you bc it is for some reason not working. But my export settings are JPEG, sRGB, he quality is 100% and the res is 300 ppi and all photos are very cool toned and dull. I have tried different resolutions, different qualities and even different image formats and every single time I still had the exact same problem Very frustrating!! please offer any advice you can, I have tried everything!
    Thank you in advance!

I also have an ASUS laptop running Windows-8 (13") but I only use the laptop for offloading memory cards while on the road so I will need to figure a way to test this to see if it is something in the OS, the ASUS hardware or whatever. I will be heading off for the weekend so I won't be able to do this until next week but the problem is intriguing.
You said you did "another screen calibration"; was this done with hardware/software using a calorimeter or done visually using software? I am assuming you used hardware but wanted to be sure. Also, are you starting with a RAW image, doing your edits and then exporting the RAW image as a JPEG or did you start with a JPEG? In theory, it shouldn't matter but Lightroom does handle JPEG and RAW images slightly differently. Lightroom 5 is much better at handling JPEG edits non destructively than previous versions but the changes should have been baked into the files upon export.
I am not familiar with Pixieset nor am I a Facebook user but, from what I understand about how Facebook operates, there is some compression as well as stripping of metadata from the file when you post it. This shouldn't matter since the edits should have been baked into the JPEG already but I have been in IT long enough to understand that sometimes, the smallest change can have major unexpected consequences. From what you stated, this should be working but it's not. I would like to see if I can duplicate it so any additional information about your processes/workflow would be helpful.

  • Audio Levels are completely different when exported from Premiere to Audition?

    Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I've adjusted the audio gain and volume levels on an interview I'm editing and it sounds pretty darn good in Premiere Pro. I exported the sequence to Audacity to do some hiss removal but quickly realized everything is different. The volume levels are way to high on lots of my clips? Why is this? I cannot really work with it in this current state because it would mean re-doing lots of work I've already done in Premiere. Any one got any ideas?
    All the best
    Kevin

Also, in the sequence the Edit in Audition option is greyed out? I can't round trip and work through the clips individually? Is there something I need to switch on or something?

    Hi Napier,
Unfortunately, Reader doesn't offer the ability to split a file, but you could download a free 30-day trial of Acrobat from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat and use that to split the file.
As for the file that isn't converting properly, I'd like to invite you to submit the file to Adobe using the File Conversion Issue form. While we can't promise an individual response to all file submissions, collecting files like your will help us improve the quality of our online services.

  • Previews in LR 1.0 look different after exporting to 'file'.

Hello everyone, I'm new to LR and somewhat new to PS (PS CS3).  I'm starting to shoot mainly in NEF but have many more jpgs on file.  While editing jpg's in LR for a Quinceanera (shoot w/ D200,JPEG,sRGB working in Win XP) I've had to, on occasion, finish editing in PS CS3 (blemish removal, USM in Lab, Gaussian Blur, etc.) after saving as a PSD and returning to LR and then 'export' the file back to jpg in a different folder (on Desktop) for easy finding I notice a 'change' in appearance in additional previews that I click on (back in LR) ONLY in the Develop Module!  In Explorer and also the 'final' folder on the Desktop all images look the same (good).  As I move my mouse over thumbnails in the Filmstrip they look fine in the Navigator preview but when I select one, it also looks fine as it is 'loading' but quickly 'shifts' to dull, bland when finished (again only in Develop Module).  I've read a TechNote from Adobe stating ~'... the Library and Develop Modules use different color profiles...'??  in Preferences (LR) I have selected <PSD,ProPhoto RGB, and 16/bit>  and in Color Settings... (PS CS3) I have a Working space as (RGB) - ProPhoto RGB  and in Color Management Policies have RGB set to Off.  My long winded question is this: I this normal and/or should I set my Preferences to sRGB (in LR for PS CS3)?  Anybody have the same issues?  P.S.  I've had to close LR and then restart LR to have this 'problem' go away (no shifting in Develop).  Thanks

Big A, Thanks for replying. Just to let you know, I went into Preferences (LR) and changed my settings: PSD, sRGB, and 8/bit and also changed PS CS3 Color Settings... :RGB-Working Space to sRGB and left RGB-Color Management Policies to Off (w/ Profile Mismatches: checked for Ask When Opening) just to help remind me when I'm working w/ RAW files.
Seems to have settled the issue of different 'views' from Library to Develop Modules. Anyways it seems to make sense seeing how Ps and Lr are supposed to work together 'behind the scenes'. There must be an order of things concerning profiles/spaces (what is effective in one app stays effect in the other or maybe LR have 'authority' over Ps due to its 'design'?? Thanks for the help Antonio

  • Image width differed from exported illustrator and coreldraw emf

    Hi,
when exporting a 7cm width EMF image from illustrator and corel draw, the image size is getting differed when EMF is imported to framemaker.  coreldraw exported EMF gets correctly fitted in the framemaker 7cm template whereas illustrator EMF doesnt do. Do i have to do something with the framemaker  or  adobe illustrator setting. Can anyone please help?

Hmmm. Interesting. I ran a test (and this is in FM7.1/Unix).
I used a recent 3.11 inch wide vector image from Illustrator. Keep in mind that in vector space, the dimensions are usually to stroke center-lines, and do not account for stroke width. If I open this in Photoshop, it does account for stroke width (we use 0.22 pts) and the width is 3.142.
I saved the image as EPS, and exported to EMF and WMF.
FM reports the vector EPS width as 3.125 (this is probably just the 1/72 preview round-off).
FM reports the EMF width as 3.691. The preview is blank. The image prints blank. I don't use EMF, and may have bungled this this test (or FM7.1 hasn't an ideal filter for it), but the size disparity is the same ratio you are seeing.
FM reports the WMF image as 3.115. The preview is raster. The image prints as vector, but is degraded. It looks like all the vector coordinates have been snapped to new grid points in a fairly coarse grid.
    My suggestion: use EPS.
Encapsulated PostScript is the oldest and most stable graphics file format that FM supports. It supports vector, raster, text or any composites thereof. It gets minimal filtering on import, and is likely passed through to the output as-is. The only downsides are a coarse (but fast) preview image (and the size jitter that comes with that). There is a workaround for the coarse preview.

  • Trouble with photos looking different after exporting to LR5

I am new to lightroom 5.  My photos do not look the same after exporting to CD or to a photo lab for printing.  I am exporting to my hard drive before burning to CD.  Can someone help?  I am starting with RAW or CR2 files before editing.

What export settings are you using. For jpegs I always choose color space as sRGB (unless the printer requests Argb) and then I set print  size, with resolution between 240 and 300 ppi. For glossy paper I choose a high sharpening setting.
It’s also possible to print a whole batch to jpeg files using the Print Module (see image below). You can then set an output value for brightening and contrast.
This can be useful as many people using uncalibrated monitors often find prints look darker than shown on their PC. When using for the first time it’s well worthwhile doing a test batch using different settings to see which gives you the best results.

  • Different result exporting big justify text to pdf

    Hi
I know that this have been asked before, but I haven´t seen a real solution to this problem for the crystal report version available to the customer (Upgrading to the newest Crystal Version its not possible in short term).
    This is my problem:
I have a report in Crystal Report 10.0.0.533, to generate a legal contract.
The report has a big textbox which contains only a paragraph that may grow several pages, according to the db fields and formulas in the textbox.
The textbox is formated with Arial Font, size 11, and Justify alignment.
The report works fine in the preview window, but when it is exported to pdf, then the last line of the page lost the Justify format. For example:
    pag1 last 3 lines:
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    xxxxxxxxxxxx
    pag2 first 3 lines
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I already tested the report with not use a printer, although I need a printer driver that support an specific paper size: folio.
    Can this situation be solved?
thanks in advance for any ideas.

  • WEBI report present different in exported excel file

    Hello expert,
I create a line chart in webi, and I create a table block to cover the x axies label for the line chart.  this presentation looks perfect in WEBI report, but when I export it into excel file, the x axies labels for the line chart showed up with that table block moved down a little bit.  how can I present WEBI in the same way in the exported excel file?

    Hi,
If your requirement is to hide labels or  X Axis values from the chart ..You can do this directly unchecked the check box for values or labels from the  X Axis properties.
For to adjust the table block and line chart  right click on the  Cell go to Align ->Relative Position and in the bottom section adjust the  height  from  the particular block.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks,
    Amit

  • How do I assign different Epub export tags in InDesign CS6?

I have at least 3 paragraph styles that I can not get to export the way I want them with InDesign CS6. I have my main paragraph style. Then another based on the main that I would like to have extra space before it. I did this in InDesign with a setting of 0.25 in in space before in the Indents and Spacing options. A third paragraph style I want to stand apart from the others with an indented right and left margins plus space above and below. It looks good in InDesign but when I export to Epub all 3 paragraphs look alike. I assume that I have to do something with the Edit All Export Tags settings but what?
Thank you for any assistance someone can give me.

I've moved your question to the InDesign EPUB forum.
EXACTLY what version of CS6 are you running? There was a bug in an early version of CS6 that prevented either space before or space after from being recognized (I forget which). It was fixed in a later version.
What does it say in the About InDesign dialog?

  • Imported image looks different than Export

When i import DNG picture in lightroom it looks like it has some filter on it and when i export it it looks normal so i cant see the real changes while editing the picture
You can see it clearly on this example, same picture, no edit. just exported

Your monitor profile is corrupt as is clear from the color cast on the histogram. This happens a lot on windows installations. You need to recalibrate your display. Best is to use a hardware calibrator. Second best (but very far removed) is to use the built in visual calibration tool in windows or mac os X.

  • Color different after export

OK image looks great in LR...RAW shot with 5D and edited in LR. Export to desktop, flickr, for email, ANYWHERE I export as jpeg...the color changes. Skin is orangy and yellowie and not pretty.
Here is a link to the example.
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/tagp/2227514380/
    WHAT IT GOING ON???

First, make absolutely sure you are exporting to sRGB jpeg. If you are exporting to other color spaces and you are not using color managed apps to watch the files (e.g. Firefox 2.0 is not color managed), you will see a color shift. If you are already doing that, Lee is probably right. Vert likely a bad profile. Even if it works in Aperture and other apps. This can happen because Lightroom uses the perceptual rendering intent, while most apps use the relative colorimetric intent. The difference should be almost inperceptible (pun intented), but some canned profiles and profiles generated by certain calibrators have a bad perceptual intent embedded. Also, if you are using dual monitors, make sure that they are the same or that you know what you are doing. Lightroom will usually pick up the profile from the main monitor. But when you then drag the window to another it often does not pick up on the change.

I'm new to FCP 5. When I make subclips it seems to place the clip into it's own sequence, instead of making a subclip the way earlier versions do. How do I make a normal subclip?
