Subcontracting GRN - Problem with UOM

Hi all
I have a small problem while making GRN for subcontracting.
Actually we are maintaining EA each as the UOM for both the finished product and the raw material. And two raw materials are needed to make a single finished product.
While doing GRN if the quantity of the finished product is odd ( eg:1,3,etc.....) then the raw material quantity should be of half the quantity of finished produc( eg: 0.5,1.5,etc ) But it is taking the next round off value like 1,2,etc.....
It has to be manually changed. Is there any option like maintaining alternate unit of measure for EA so that the system will automatically indicate the quantity for the raw material.
Thanks and Regards
Siva

Hi
Even if maintaining the decimal place in CUNI, it is not picking up the value .....
But can we maintain the decimal place for EA as it is a Standard UOM. ?
Regards
Siva

  • Problem with UOM in SRM

    Hi Guys,
    I am experiencing a problem while transferring a contract item from a catalog( i.e in CCM) to SRM, the unit of measure PC is getting converted to EA. where as it should be PC only.
    This is in SRM 5.0 version and Extended classic scenario.
    Can anyone suggest me a soln for this soon.
    Regards
    Srujan K

    Hi Sanjeev,
    Thanks for your reply,
    I have a clarification over here there are 3 units of measurements in SRM and where as in R/3 only 2.
    i.e  SRM (EA, PCE, ST) and in R/3 only EA and ST.
    I have observed in SRM Each UOM has EA , as an ISO code. PCE UOM has PCE  ISO code, ST UOM has PCE ISO code but for this the primary code is checked.
    where as in R/3  Each UOM has EA, as ISO code and ST UOM has PCE ISO code with primary code as checked.
    So does this anyways causes any issue.

  • Problem with UOM.

    hi,
    we are getting an below mentioned error in MM02 when we go to addition data--> unit of measure.
    "Internal unit CFT, language EN is not maintained".I need to maintain eht same in JA,DE languages also
    kindly suggest what i have to do.Do i need to perform any activity in CUNI.

  • Problem with a/c entries while GRN..

    Dear All,
    I have a different problem in GR/IR
    For example my PO no is 123 and qty are 2 kgs and value is 2 Rupees (i.e. - 1rupee per kg)
    Now i have removed GR based invoice verification and did the invoice posting first with wrong qty but correct value(i.e.- qty 1kg but value 2 Rupees)
    A/c entries after this are
    Vendor - 2 -
    GR/IR clearing a/c - 2 +
    and after that i have done GRN correctly (with 2 kgs)
    Now my a/c entries are
    Stock a/c - 3 +
    GR/IR clearing a/c - 3 -
    Now my question is why it is taking value 1.5 rupees per kg in GRN??
    Please help me out.
    Naren

    Hello
    It is not taking Rs 1.5 per KG. It is calculation as follows :
    For Quantity 1, it is taking invoice price Rs. 2 since invoice is posted for Qualtity 1 with price Rs.2
    For Quantity 1, it is taking price from PO i.e. Rs. 1 since no invoice posted, it will take price from PO.
    So tatal Quantity received is 2 and value is 2+1 = Rs.3
    This are the difference in postings when GR based invoice is not selected.
    Hope this clear your doubt.
    warm regards

  • Problem with unit in Query

    Hallo Experts,
    We encounter a problem with unit in our Query.
    Szenario:
    We use the Unit like PC, SET in Query.
    In Table T006 those Units have value 0 in the field ANDEC, so they will be rounded up and rounded down in Query.
    Our Problem is some Queries need the rounding up and down but others don't need this function.
    Where and how should we change to solve the problem.
    thanks & Best regards

    hi,
    if you want to control the rounding off while unit conversion you can do it from SPRO
    In the BW system, goto SPRO -> SAP NetWeaver -> General Settings -> Check Units of Measurement -> Units of Measurement -> Choose the unit corresponding to 'KM' -> Click on 'Details' button in the toolbar.
    Look the field 'Decimal Pl rounding'. Change this to 3 or whatever value you choose and see if it works.
    in above link i have taken example of KM, you need need to select the required unit.
    let us know if this is solves your problem. I am not sure if this can be done for individual queries but this is controlled by UOM wise as mentioned above.

    Rk.

  • Problem with *serial no. profile* in work sheduling view of material master

    Hi ! !
    I am here with a problem with serial no. profile in work sheduling view of material master.
    By mistake for some FHMI type ( PRODUCTION RESOURCE TOOLS )materials, serial no profile exist in 'work sheduling' view. Due to that we are facing problem in GRN.
    when I am trying to remove that with MM02. i m getting a message as Serial numbers already assigned to this material
    Please suggest how to remove serial no. profile.
    Thanks in advance,
    Prab

    Hi,
    go to MMBE and check the Current Serial number...for  FHMI type
    and go to IQ02 and close the Serial number range at the Current number range...
    Now you can assign this serial number range to another material type...
    Thx

  • Problem with Unit of measurement

    Hi,
    I am having problem with Unit of measurement with different languages.
    Eg:
    In SPRO, I am able to see the unit of measure T3 Description: (Trading unit).  in SAP 200 client .the logon language is EN(english).
    But if I logon into same client(200) with different language DE(german) version, I am not able to see the description in German, the description field is blank.
    Kindly give me a solution for this problem as it is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Shankar

    Hi Aishwarya,
    I can think of 2 possibilities:
    1. You need to verify passing the Target UoM with the ISO Code as well as the update flag in the 'X' structures.
    2. The material that you are trying to pass some UoM does not have the conversion maintained in the Material Master. (Base UoM --> Target UoM conversion in Material Master, contact Functional Consultant).
    Also, if you can verify by performing the action manually and check if the Sales Order is getting created manually with the Target UoM .

    Pranav.

  • Problem with mvt. 544 O

    Hi gurus.
    We have a subcontracting model for purchase our FERT goods. The reception process is make trough tx. MIGO, generate a material document with a movement type 101 for FERT and 543 O for the component. The BOM structure for 1 PC are:
    12 PC component B
    12 PC component C
    14 PC component D
    The problem happens when we need to return goods to vendor. The steps that we make are:
    1.- TX. Migo, option Return Delivery.
    2.- Minimize the BOM explosion.
    3.- Type a quantity to return and hit Enter.
    4.- Open the BOM explosion. Here we found a inconsistence in the qty for each component, because appear with a smaller  quantity that BOM. Today the problem with our subcontracting stock is very high.
    Thanks by advice.
    Felipe

    Hi,
    Are creating subcontracting BOM ? if yes then are you tracking changes to these BOM?
    when you change the quantity to be returned and hit enter system should proportinally change the Qty of child parts
    Please check the BOM changes or changes to the components assignment in PO
    Thanks

  • Subcontract GRN

    Dear All,
    I have done PO with only Item category L not used Account assignement category,
    I used BOM also.
    I have done Subcontract PO then Wrt this PO when we are doing Subcontract GRN then system asking me Asset code,
    when i checked in Material master this is Raw material, i cant understand why system asks asset code,
    Every Subcontract GRN time system asks Asset codes, i checked J1id there is also Raw materials.
    please guide me, & suggest me.
    Thanks
    Shital

    As far as I remember (I am not reallu sure)  system determine the asset upon account assignment.
    So if you ask system to post in GL accont which is defined as  asset account you have to enter an asset number
    So suggest that you check  :
             1- the valuation class in the material master data,
    then
              2- check the account assigned to the valuation class of your material (go to trx FBKP>Automatic posting>Material management posting, the key BSX..)
    What is the G/L account assigned to this valuation class  it mustn't be an asset account

  • Problem with the fiells MEINS(PO Unit ) and MENGE(Quantity) .

    Hi experts
    I am having problem with the fiells MEINS(PO Unit ) and MENGE(Quantity) of the datasource 2lis_02_acc .
    I have created custom cube and have mapped the fiels MEINS to infoobject 0PO_UNIT and MENGE(Quantity) to infoobject 0CPQUAOU.
    Now the data is successfully loaded in the cube but the values of the above 2 fields are getting changed.
    In r3 the value for MEINS is "AU","EA" , "H" etc but this field value is getting converted to "LE" in the cube and also the field  MENGE(Quantity
    ) in r3 is for example "1"  it is getting converted to 3 in the cube. do u have any idea what is the problem.
    The rule type is direct assingment and there is no routine .
    Any clues.
    Thank you.

    Hmm, your system should consider the alternative UOM maintain in the material master.
    Each material in SAP has its standard, base unit of measure (stored in MARA-MEINS). To allow using alternative units, those can be maintained per material in table MARM. So, assuming the Base UoM is only considered (for LE), it converts material quantity from one unit to another, most likely from alternative units to the base one. So, changing that settings must solve. http://goo.gl/JuZlm
    Alternative steps:
    1.Goto MM42 (Assuming there's no BAPI req?)
    2. change po unit from basic unit to other -> save OK
    3. change po unit from other to basic unit -> save OK
    Also, MD63 shows all data in the base unit of measure.
    If you want to explore basic steps, goto RSD1 > Additional > Alternative UoM.

  • LT04 problems with call transaction

    Hello,
    I am using RF and creating screens for users to putaway material  in a raw material warehouse based on a material document number from the GRN which is linked to a TR (transfer requirement).  I am, however, having problems with the TO creation where the material is QM relevant.
    I have used function module L_TO_CREATE_TR which works for non-QM relevant items but most of our items are QM relevant.  I am trying to process these by creating a TO using LT04 as a call transaction.
    However, before I can put in a bin , the screen that appears in order to enter the bin  has an error message before anything has been input -  'No destination storage bin to be found in storage type 001 "(L3 009).
    Anyone have any suggestions how I can get around this as I cannot create the TO in the background using LT04 because of this error.
    Regards
    Larissa Maryniuk

    As mentioned in my original question, I cannot use the LTOCREATE_FROM_TR FM for items set  with stock category Q as these are QM relevant.  If you try and create a TO from a TR using L_TO_CREATE_TR you get an error of 2 which is item is QM relevant.  I cannot see how I can use  WS_LM_TRANSFER_ORDER_CREATE as you cannot put in the TR number anywhere. Other than these 2 cannot see how I can create a TO from a TR without using LT04.
    If I use LT04 and set as backrground I get the message specified. The way to get around the error using LT04 is only available if T04 is set as Foreground on the front screen instead of background.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Sales order item quantity not rounded and allowing decimals with UoM EA

    Hi gentlemens,
    I noticed something strange in our SAP ERP system.
    When we enter a material in a new sales order item, we are allowed to enter quantity 1,5 EA (1 and half Each).
    But when I check the config of the UoM EA in table T006, the number of decimals (field DECAN) is 0 and the decimal place for rounding (field ANDEC) is also 0.
    As far as I remember from other other SAP system, there should be an error message when entering the quantity 1,5 EA saying that decimals are not allowed for this unit of measure.
    Can someone help and tell me wich error message or which rounding program should normally be active when entering decimals with uom EA ?
    Thanks and regards,
    BDT

    Hi Mani,
    Thanks for the thread reference. I found the related OSS notes yesterday evening but this was for procurement.
    Here the question I have is more for a sales item.
    The strange case we are facing is:
    In a sales order, we can enter a particular material as a standalone item with a quantity of 1.5 EA without any problem.
    But if we create the same new item as a sub-item of a previous one (filling UEPOS), with qty 1,5 EA, then a rounding is triggered by the system based on the T006 config.
    I am wondering if this is a problem with the SAP standard program or if we did anything wrong in the past in our system?
    Best regards,
    BDT

  • A problem with threads

    I am trying to implement some kind of a server listening for requests. The listener part of the app, is a daemon thread that listens for connections and instantiates a handling daemon thread once it gets some. However, my problem is that i must be able to kill the listening thread at the user's will (say via a sto button). I have done this via the Sun's proposed way, by testing a boolean flag in the loop, which is set to false when i wish to kill the thread. The problem with this thing is the following...
    Once the thread starts excecuting, it will test the flag, find it true and enter the loop. At some point it will LOCK on the server socket waiting for connection. Unless some client actually connects, it will keep on listening indefinatelly whithought ever bothering to check for the flag again (no matter how many times you set the damn thing to false).
    My question is this: Is there any real, non-theoretical, applied way to stop thread in java safely?
    Thank you in advance,
    Lefty

    This was one solution from the socket programming forum, have you tried this??
    public Thread MyThread extends Thread{
         boolean active = true;
         public void run(){
              ss.setSoTimeout(90);
              while (active){
                   try{
                        serverSocket = ss.accept();
                   catch (SocketTimeoutException ste){
                   // do nothing
         // interrupt thread
         public void deactivate(){
              active = false;
              // you gotta sleep for a time longer than the
              // accept() timeout to make sure that timeout is finished.
              try{
                   sleep(91);
              }catch (InterruptedException ie){
              interrupt();
    }

  • Problem with Threads and a static variable

    I have a problem with the code below. I am yet to make sure that I understand the problem. Correct me if I am wrong please.
    Code functionality:
    A timer calls SetState every second. It sets the state and sets boolean variable "changed" to true. Then notifies a main process thread to check if the state changed to send a message.
    The problem as far I understand is:
    Assume the timer Thread calls SetState twice before the main process Thread runs. As a result, "changed" is set to true twice. However, since the main process is blocked twice during the two calls to SetState, when it runs it would have the two SetState timer threads blocked on its synchronized body. It will pass the first one, send the message and set "changed" to false since it was true. Now, it will pass the second thread, but here is the problem, "changed" is already set to false. As a result, it won't send the message even though it is supposed to.
    Would you please let me know if my understanding is correct? If so, what would you propose to resolve the problem? Should I call wait some other or should I notify in a different way?
    Thanks,
    B.D.
    Code:
    private static volatile boolean bChanged = false;
    private static Thread objMainProcess;
       protected static void Init(){
            objMainProcess = new Thread() {
                public void run() {
                    while( objMainProcess == Thread.currentThread() ) {
                       GetState();
            objMainProcess.setDaemon( true );
            objMainProcess.start();
        public static void initStatusTimer(){
            if(objTimer == null)
                 objTimer = new javax.swing.Timer( 1000, new java.awt.event.ActionListener(){
                    public void actionPerformed( java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt){
                              SetState();
        private static void SetState(){
            if( objMainProcess == null ) return;
            synchronized( objMainProcess ) {
                bChanged = true;
                try{
                    objMainProcess.notify();
                }catch( IllegalMonitorStateException e ) {}
        private static boolean GetState() {
            if( objMainProcess == null ) return false;
            synchronized( objMainProcess ) {
                if( bChanged) {
                    SendMessage();
                    bChanged = false;
                    return true;
                try {
                    objMainProcess.wait();
                }catch( InterruptedException e ) {}
                return false;
        }

    Thanks DrClap for your reply. Everything you said is right. It is not easy to make them alternate since SetState() could be called from different places where the state could be anything else but a status message. Like a GREETING message for example. It is a handshaking message but not a status message.
    Again as you said, There is a reason I can't call sendMessage() inside setState().
    The only way I was able to do it is by having a counter of the number of notifies that have been called. Every time notify() is called a counter is incremented. Now instead of just checking if "changed" flag is true, I also check if notify counter is greater than zero. If both true, I send the message. If "changed" flag is false, I check again if the notify counter is greater than zero, I send the message. This way it works, but it is kind of a patch than a good design fix. I am yet to find a good solution.
    Thanks,
    B.D.

  • Problem with threads running javaw

    Hi,
    Having a problem with multi thread programming using client server sockets. The program works find when starting the the application in a console using java muti.java , but when using javaw multi.java the program doesnt die and have to kill it in the task manager. The program doesnt display any of my gui error messages either when the server disconnect the client. all works find in a console. any advice on this as I havent been able to understand why this is happening? any comment would be appreciated.

    troy,
    Try and post a minimum code sample of your app which
    does not work.
    When using javaw, make sure you redirect the standard
    error and standard output streams to file.
