Subcontracting scenario(Sale Order wise)

Hi all
We have requirement from our client to map subcontracting process Sale Order Line Item wise,
I.e- instead of 541 we will use 311E and send components to vendor (which will create seperate storage location for each vendor).
We will receive the Finished Material through 101E,we tested this process in Test client & found OK.
Is This process Ok from accounting point of view.
Thanks In advance
Sandeep

Hi
I think it is not the right way...
where you will book the Vendor service amount....
also if you are sending the same material and getting back the same material....it may be OK....
But for eg) you are sending product A and B  and assemble at SC-Place....getting back the FG as Product C....in this case it will not work out....

  • Storing the Material Sale Order Wise

In our Scenario PO is made Sale Order wise, but when the Material is received and entered in the Stock, it become difficult to indetify the Material which has come against which SO.
My requirement is that if the Material is received Sale Order Wise then it shud be saved in the Store Sale Order Wise and also at the same time it will be issued Sale Order wise, to keep the track of material being issued against Sale Order Wise.
i hope i have cleared my query, any clues.....

    Hi,
When you are trying to create PO with reference to SO what is the item category used in SO, Use item category as "TAB" then SO will generate a Purchase Requisition. Convert this Purchase requisition in to Purchase Order, account assignment will be copied as "E Individual Customer stock" Sales order and Cost element will populate from PR.
When you post the GR for above PO, the stock is managed as Special Stock indicator "E" sales order stock, in MMBE also it displays as SO stock. At the time of GR value is booked to SO and stock will be shown in MMBE.
This stock is reserve for particular SO against which you have procured, but you can transfer post the same from SO stock to your OWN stock
    Hope this clarifies,

    Hi suredar
If you use Strategy MTO 20 and run MRP in MD 50 for sales order with line items. Then automatically the stocks will be mainted as per the sales order. You cannot change the issue of dependent requirements.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Sales order wise stock revaluation

    hi
in case of make to stock material we run standard cost estimate every month and revaluate the stock. ck11n ck40n
in case is of make to order stock, is valuated at sales order cost estimate. Please explain how this sales order wise stock will be revaluated.

    Hi Imdad
First of all, why do you want to revaluate at all? When it is a sales order stock, it should be valuated at the sales order cost estimate and it is valuated as such.. Now why would you like to revaluate it?
Anyways, if you want to do this, then MR21 is the only option... You must specify both Material/Sales order in MR21 in order to revaluate it
But, I would ask you to re-think on why would you want to do this.. Moreover, revaluating stock every month is not a good accounting practice...I hope you have taken your auditors in confidence

Blocks can be of different types and at different levels..
All header level sales order blocks can be seen in VBUK and item level at VBUP.
For eg : VBUP-FSSTA - Billing block status for items and
                VBUP-LSSTA - Delivery block
Also look at the following fields of VBUK :
    FSSTK     -Overall billing block status
    LSSTK_-Overall delivery block status
    SPSTG     -Overall blocked status

  • Plant to plant subcontracting against sales order

    hi
         my scenario is like this
two plants A and B under one company code, its repair scenario in this sales order come in plant b ,in this repairing we have 5 process out of which one process has to be carried out in plant 1,so  for that  we will do subcontracting against that sales order with plant b. so how to handle subcontracting with plant a against sales order.
Edited by: AMIT RANE on Mar 4, 2009 7:55 AM

Purpose: - Subcontracting is also possible in conjunction with sales order  The subcontracting orders are account-assigned to a slaes order . Thus, the components are not transferred (using a transfer posting) to the "stock of material provided to vendor" but are directly withdrawn from the sales order stock the time of the goods receipt. The material manufactured is also posted to the SO
The cost of subcontracting is then debited to the SO.
Since the components are not transferred to the "stock of material provided to vendor", it is recommended that you use a transfer posting to transfer the provided components to a new storage location (for example, 9999). This enables you to obtain an overview of those stocks that are physically located at the subcontractor. This information is particularly important when you carry out a physical inventory of the Project stocks.
    Features: -
Withdrawal from Stock of Mat. Provided for Project: -
For components that are managed in Project stock, you can define whether the components are to be withdrawn directly from each Project or from the stock of material provided to vendor. You manage this via the dependent requirements indicator for individual customer requirements and collective requirements (MARC-SBDKZ).
You can maintain this indicator in the following places:
In the MRP view of the material master record (MRP 4)
In the explosion types for the BOM item (in Customizing for Production in the step Basic Data -> Bill of Material -> Item Data -> Define explosion types)
Configuring the explosion types has priority over the configuration in Inventory Management.
If the indicator is set at Collective requirements only (2), the materials are withdrawn from the stock of material provided to vendor. If this indicator is set any other way, the system withdraws materials from Project stock.
    Regarding Subcontracting Challan: -
Go to OMJJ, select the field "movement type" and press enter
Enter movement type "311" and double click on "Field selection (Enjoy)" under Dialog Structure on left side.
here "New Entries" and add field "LIFNR" (Vendor- plant as vendor )
Now in MIGO, at the time of transfer posting of components using movement type "311 E", specify the vendor code of the Subcontracting PO (i.e. Subcontractor)
Now create Subcontracting Challan in J1IF01 for material document of 311 E movement type.
Also check in SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Business Transactions > Subcontracting > Maintain Movement Type Groups > here for Movement Type Group "0001", Movement Type "311 E" should be maintained.
Then do GR against PO and refer the Subcontracting Challan here.
And then do reconciliation in J1IFQ for the GR Document against Subcontracting Challan.
Also check in SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Business Transactions > Subcontracting > Maintain Movement Type Groups > here for Movement Type Group "0002", Movement Type "543 E" should be maintained.
    Follow the below mentioned process;
    Process Steps: -
    1. OX09 - Create Storage Location as "9999" for Subcontractor Location
    2. MB1B - Do Transfer Posting of material from RM Warehouse to this Storage Location via movement type "311 E" (Instead of doing 541)
    3. Now go to J1IF01 - here use material document of movement type "311 E" and create Subcontracting challan. (If required)
Prerequisite: - In SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Business Transactions > Subcontracting > Maintain Movement Type Groups > Here for Movement Type Group "0001" (For issues), maintain movement type "311 E" also along with 541.
Rest all; refer subcontracting challan during GR and then reconciliation and completion, etc... Will be same as usual.
Note: - At the time of GR, consume components from storage location "9999" (for 543 movement type)

  • Subcontracting in sales order costing

    Dear Sapfans,
We are having make to order with sales order process (sales order as cost object).
We are having a scenario where we are sending the goods for an external processing (subcontracting) .
After the MRP run, we are converting the purchase requisition to purchase order with account assignment E.
At the time of doing GR of finished goods from subcon vendor, the system withdraws components from the sales order stock. Which means the subcontracting charges should be debited to the sales order
However, I am getting an error for assigning cost object for GL account for subcontracting charges.
Why is the sales order not being considered as cost object here?
I have done sales order costing and saved the cost estimate.
    Any suggestions please?
    Thanks In Advance

    Hi Anulekha,
    Please see below scenarios
    1. Subcontract to inventory
At the time of GR against subcontract Purchase order we have the following three entries
    A:
    Dr: Consumption account
    Cr: Raw material Inventory account
    B:
    Dr: Finished material Inventory account
    Cr: Change in Inventory account
    C:
    Dr: Change in Inventory account
    Cr: GR/IR account
    2. Subcontract to PP/SD order
At the time of GR against subcontract Purchase order we have the following two entries
    A:
    Dr: Consumption account PP/SD order
    Cr: Raw material Inventory account
    B:
Dr: Finished material Inventory account PP/SD order
    Cr: GR/IR account
We are using both scenarios and working correctly.sales order is cost object in my scenario also.
    Hopefully this helps you.
    Thanks,

  • Subcontracting for Sales Order Stock and collective Transfer Posting

    Dear Expert,
We have a scenario in subcontracting wherein the sales order the customer also wants to see the components and as such along with the Header item of subcontracting ,we also mention the components as another line item in the sane Sales Order.
Now from the sale sorder two Po's are created onr for the subcontractor and one for the compnens to be procured.
Since the components are procured on sales order stock there is noway we can issue it to the Vendor stock through Movt .Type 541.
As per SAP AG WE CAN:
"ubcontracting is also possible in conjunction with sales order stocks and project stocks. The subcontracting orders are account-assigned to a sales order or a WBS element. Thus, the components are not transferred (using a transfer posting) to the u201Cstock of material provided to vendoru201D but are directly withdrawn from the sales order stock or the project stock at the time of the goods receipt. The material manufactured is also posted to the sales order stock or to the project stock. The cost of subcontracting is then debited to the sales order or WBS element.Since the components are not transferred to the u201Cstock of material provided to vendoru201D, we recommend that you use a transfer posting to transfer the provided components to a new storage location (for example, 9999). This enables you to obtain an overview of those stocks that are physically located at the subcontractor. This information is particularly important when you carry out a physical inventory of the sales order stocks and project stocks."
But my query is that how many such storage locations will be created for the subcontracting vendors.
Secondly for the stock transfer from sales to storage location , we have lots of sales order, is dera way through which we can do bulk transfer rathar than clicking at new item everytime and then doing the transfer posting.
your expert advice shallbe helpful in resolving a longtime pending issue , waiting for the response.
    Regards
    Jabeen

This is a known issue, the system doesnt allow stock to have two special stock statuses at the same time.
Your concern of having to make multiple storage locations is valid (since this is a configuration).
I suggest you do the following
    - Configure a warehouse and a single storage type (say 001). Allow mixing of materials in a single bin
    - Assign this warehouse to a new storage location.
    - Create a bin for every sales order number in the warehouse.
    - When goods are moved to subcontractor, perform a transfer posting to the storage location, and perform a putaway to the respective bin. The putaway strategy can be tweaked using a user exit to go to the relevant bin. This way you do not have to enter the WM transaction for putaway.
    - To consume the stocks, you can use 231E movement (MB1A). On the WM side, the picking strategy can be enhanced so that the picking TO is generated with the correct source bin. Make sure the GL account and CO objects are as per FICO requirements.
This way you can track the stocks binwise (bin level reports are available in WM), perform physical inventory and also consume the stocks from the relevant bin automatically.
We had faced the same situation, and we ended up not having sales order stock at all.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Aroop

  • Using Subcontracting with Sales Order Stock

    Hi SDN Network,
We use the made to order setup so run MRP with the Sales Order as the basis of the demand. After that, we avail the services of a subcontractor to assemble the finished goods although we supply the subassembly and raw matls.
The PR generated during the MRP run has an account assignment of either M or E depending on the Item Cat in the sales order. From that PR, we create a subcon PO (item cat L). Problem is the PO generated is not showing up on the ME2O transaction. Does this mean that POs whose GR goes directly to Sales Order stock are not allowed in the system? I am able to post
We would still want to retain the 'reservation' of the materials using the Sales Order stock. But does it follow that you cannot use Sales Order Stock with subcontracting?
Did I miss out anything in the config? Is there another way to do this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
Subcontracting issue to subcontractor (special stock O) and sales order stock (special stock E) both have special stock indicators and hence not possible.
The process can be done as explained in the link below:
