Subforms with InfoPath

Does anyone know of a way to allow the use of subforms within an InfoPath Forms environment in SharePoint 2013?
I have a client who will potentially want a number of workflows created, and where InfoPath forms are the most natural way to present the forms to the users. The problem is that the first project is a Procurement Request, where the number of line items requested
my vary, making subforms essential.

No, subforms are not supported, a single form can have multiple views but that's the closest you get.

  • How to delete hyperlink (Remove signature) in a form created with InfoPath

    Hello.
    We have Sharepoint 2013 Foundation in production. It work with forms created with InfoPath. In these forms, digital signatures are used to approve. The problem is that once you have signed the forms, the user can remove the signature. That's what we want to
    avoid.
    Which file should I edit to remove the hyperlink? I can not find how to do it. Do you know a better option?
    Greetings.
    MCSA: Windows Server 2008

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to delete hyperlink (Remove signature) in a form created with InfoPath.
    As far as I know, there is no OOTB way to achieve this. You need to use custom code to prevent removal of digital signatures.
    Please add the OnBeforeChange handler code to the "signatureN" group where the signature is stored, not to the section you are signing.
    In other words (my excample) browse to :
    Tools - Form Options - Digital Signatures - "Enable digital signature for specific data" - Modify/Add
    Note the "Store signatures in the following group" value. It will be a read only value, eg /my:myFields/my:signature3/my:signature4

  • Custom Actions do not work if list is customized with InfoPath?

    I am trying to add the display form ribbon custom action, or even the edit form ribbon action, but they do not work if I use a list that was customized in InfoPath?
    they work fine on an out of the box list? I am able to do the list item menu actions, but the other ribbon commands are missing?Does InfoPath use a different layout that overwrites these commands?

    Hi,
    yes your custom actions disappears when you customize with infopath forms.

  • Targeting all objects in multiple subforms with a shared name throughout a form

    Hi
    Jono Moore was able to find an excellent solution from an original by Radzmar for targeting subforms throughout a form that share a name:
    function hideSubs(vNode) {
         if (vNode.className === "subform") {
              //name of subform you're targeting
              if (vNode.name === "targetSub") {
                   vNode.presence = "hidden";
         for (var i = 0; i < vNode.nodes.length; i += 1) {
              hideSubs(vNode.nodes.item(i));
    hideSubs(xfa.form);
    Has anyone any thoughts on how to extend this functionality to select the object within those subforms?
    So:     (1) find all subforms with the shared name (a solution above), then
              (2) select all objects inside those subforms only (all types: text fields, radio buttons, check boxes, etc.).
    The intention is to lock these down and to apply a colour change (from white to grey) as a visual cue. The solution above allows the background colour of the subforms to be changed, but what is required in this case is a colour change to the value backgrounds of the objects within those subforms only.
    Any thoughts grately appreciated.
    Thanks

    Francis play around with the above code, it's a simplified version of the script you are using.
    I've used that node traversal script for a bunch of stuff myself but I'm trying to wrap my head more around Radzmar's simplified version as it looks like it would be a lot faster for larger forms. And it's getting into areas I don't know much about so I'm learning stuff too!

  • No lists or libraries with InfoPath content types can be found.

    I published an InfoPath form to two libraries in the site, one was a document library and one to a form library. I am using the InfoPath Web Part in the same sight and when I open the toolpane, I get the following message:
    No lists or libraries with InfoPath content types can be found. Use Microsoft InfoPath
    to design a form template for InfoPath Forms Services and publish it to a SharePoint library or list.
    Can you help?

    Looks like it has been a while since this post.  Hope this helps someone still facing this problem.
    If you're publishing the InfoPath form as a Content Type:
    Make sure that the Library (Form Templates) where the form is being published to has Content Types enabled.
    Check that the Library where form is being saved upon submittal (if different from above, as it should be) has Content Types enabled.
    The newly published form Content Type added the Library where forms are submitted.
    If you're publishing the InfoPath form without a Content Type:
    Just make sure that the Library you're publishing to is a Forms Library.
    Enjoy!
    Thank you in advance!

  • Add button to SharePoint 2013 form with InfoPath and/or SharePoint designer

    Since I am new to working with Sharepoint 2013, I have the following questions to ask you about Infopath 2013 and possibly SharePoint Desinger 2013:
    1. Yesterday I created a custom list in my 'test area of SharePoint' and opened the list in Infopath 2013 to see what the form would look like. Now I have alot more columns and edits to add to the list. I am planning to add more columns to the list when
    I am in my 'test area' and then make cosmetic changes to the form using Infopath 2013. I am thinking that if I continue this way, I may lose some ediut changes I have made using Infopath 2013. Thus can you tell me the best way to add more columns to the list
    and/or modify the existing columns and not lose the edit changes that I made using Infopath 2013?
    2. The infopath 2013 form does not contain any buttons to click. I need a button to show up for every user to click so that a workflow can be started. Do I need some kind of a task list(action)? Thus can you tell me how to add this type of a button to the
    form?

    Wendy, Please go through this video from
    channel 9 (http://channel9.msdn.com/Blogs/NickDallett/InfoPath-2010-Customize-a-SharePoint-List-Form)  which will uilding froom explain similar form building from scratch.
    As per Peter's replay yes you can update form even after add columns in list and you can add extar control like button to your infopath form.
    Workflows are usually started when creating or updating an item inside a SharePoint document library.
    Open the workflow in SharePoint Designer and under "Start Options' on the workflow's home page, remove the check from "Start workflow manually...". Be sure the check either "Start on create..." or "Start on change...". In
    your case I think you would use "Start on create...".
    Hope these inputs will help

  • Permissions Issue with Infopath Data Connection

    I'm not really sure how else to title this....
    Issue - InfoPath Form on SharePoint 2010 gives 'You do not have permissions to access a SharePoint list that contains data required for this form to function correctly."
    It gives a correlation ID
    Log file shows
    "Exception Message: The form cannot run the specified query. The list could not be found."
    Note the look-up is to a SharePoint list on the same content database.
    We have two Web-Front End servers with a load balancer.  We've had a number of other permissions type issues when the 'token' gets switched from one server to another, so we have the HOSTs file on each server pointing back to itself, so that once a
    server is 'grabbed' it stays on the same one.
    The error we are having currently, only seems to be occurring on the first Web Front End Server.
    Also we have sharepoint setup with an address of
    http://sharepoint.domain.com as well as an alias. http://sharepoint.
    The error we are having currently, only occurs if I use the fully qualified domain
    " http://sharepoint.domain.com" on the InfoPath data connection.  If I use the shortened alias, the error does not occur.  That is the current/easy solution, but I would like
    to fix it 'correctly' if possible.
    So, it appears to me that only on one of the Web Front End servers, it isn't liking the fully qualified path when doing a data connection.

    Hi ,
    Is the above issue fixed . if not please check below option
    Check the List / Library  [Source for dataconnection ] permission setting .

  • Problem in repeating a subform with hidden text fields.

    Hi,
    Request advise on the scenario below:
    The form consists of one master page and a corresponding page that is flowed. This contains two subforms : One with address fields that are hidden with the subsequent fields moving up, when the previous field is hidden. The layout being :
    Name1
    Name2
    Addrs1
    Addrs2
    Addrs3
    in the absence of anyone of these fields the one below gets moved up. The second subform in the page consists of a flowed suform which gets repeated multiple times and spans across pages as the data overflows. The data binding comes only from one set of data item hence the option for repetition based on each data item seems impractical.
    Is there a way to display the address subform in the multipages created by the overflowing data, at the same position as in the first page? This couldn't be placed in the master page as then , the script for hidden fields doesn't work.
    Thanks in advance..

  • Issue with infopath forum

    Hi
    We have set up an InfoPath form with a data connection and is web enabled.
    But when we come to connect it says its not web enabled.
    How do I re publish with this option enabled rather than having to redo the who form?
    Thanks

    Hi Gopikishan,
    From your description, when Approver2 click Open this task in Outlook, no Approve button displayed on the form. If I misunderstood, please point it out.
    I created a simple approval workflow in SharePoint Designer and assigned it to Admin and user1, choosing serial (one at a time). As I could see in the workflow setting page, there is only one form in Forms block. And I opened it in my InfoPath form, it displayed
    as I clicked Open this task in Outlook.
    So I’d recommend you check if there is more than one form in workflow setting page. And also check if there is any rule which will affect on whether Approval button shows or not.

  • Domain level security issue with InfoPath Form

    I have followed the article “Submitting Data from InfoPath 2007 to a SharePoint List” which can be found at
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc162745.aspx.
    But instead I am using SharePoint and InfoPath 2010.
    I get the following error after deploying and running the form with its security level set to domain.
    “A query to retrieve form data cannot be completed because this action would violate cross-domain restrictions. If this form template is published to a SharePoint
    document library, cross-domain access for user form templates must be enabled under InfoPath Forms Services in SharePoint Central Administration, and the data connection settings must be stored in a UDC file in a data connection library in the same site collection.
    If this is an administrator-approved form template, the security level of the form must be set to full trust, or the data connection settings must be stored in a UDC file by using the Manage data connection files option under InfoPath Forms Services in SharePoint
    Central Administration.”
    How do I get this form working on the server and client using domain level security?
    Extra Note: On an additional not the form works fine in SharePoint and InfoPath designer when the security level is set to Full Trust.

    Hi, Is this possible over a SharePoint "LIST"? I'm hitting brick walls and can't set the Security level on my form at all. Everything that I'm reading refers to Document Libraries but nothing about SharePoint List. It seems that this should work over a list,
    but I'm hitting brick walls all the way around. Here is a copy of the question that I posed below under Todd.Wilder's post:
    Hi,
    Following this forum question/comment I am attempting to set the security on my Infopath form to Full Trust. But, I don't have the Security and Trust option. I can set the Trusted Location through the Trust Center but I can't find anywhere to set security.
    I am using InfoPath 2010. What am I missing? Everything that I'm reading says that this is the problem and my error message is exactly like SomeGuy's message. One more piece to this is...this is a form over an Existing SharePoint List. I've found that I can
    see the Security if I start InfoPath and start a New Blank Form, but by editing the form from a SharePont list, the option to edit Security is not there. HELP!!
    I am following the instructions below that come from:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee526352.aspx
    The InfoPath form designer automatically selects the appropriate security level (either Restricted or Domain) based on the features that you are using in the form. The security setting is always as restrictive as possible, starting at Restricted, to help
    ensure a greater level of protection for you and your data. Users can manually override this automated setting to select a level of security that is more appropriate for the form by following these steps:
    Click the File tab, and then click Form Options on theInfo tab.
    In the Categories list, click Security and Trust.
    Uncheck the Automatically determine security level (recommended) check box.
    Select the desired security level.

  • API integration with Infopath

    Has anyone successfully integrated an infopath solution with BC's API?
    I was looking at the functionality of infopath for the first time, and after spending a total of 1 hour on it I have managed to connect it to BC's webservice and display the API fields.
    I'm just wondering how difficult such an integration would be and also if it would be something that would be recommended?
    Ideally, I can see it being able to pull and push data to the site via a form which is exactly what I want to be able to do. Currently we are managing a large inventory for a client and I am looking at ways to mainstream (if that's the right word, probably idiot proof) the solution with a controlled form rather than an excel spreadsheet.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hello techmax66,
    How are you trying to integrate EchoSign in your website? Also, there is no specific time frame after which the API integration works. If the integration is done successfully, you should be good to go to use EchoSign.
    Let us know if you need further help!

  • Two SubForms with one having dynamic table

    Hello,
    I am having a problem regarding subforms and dynamic tables.  Here is the situation:
    1.  I have one main form where the content is "Flowed"
    2.  I have two subforms, both have the content of "Positioned"
    3.  The first subform has a dynamic table in it.
    The problem that I am having is that when I add a row to the dynamic table in subform 1, the second subform does not move.  I would like it to shift down to accomodate the additional row in the first subform.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you.

    You need to set subform 1 to flowed.
    What is happening is that subform 1 is not expanding with the dynamic table because it is positioned. The table is expanding outside of its parent subform. As subform 1 does not expand, then subform 2 does not move.
    The golden rule is that any subform that has dynamic content and every one of its parent subforms up the hierarchy all the way to the root must be flowed.
    If this rule is not followed then you will get overlapping content. An easy check is to click on dynamic content in the design view and then use the left arrow key to navigate up the hierarchy. Keep an eye on the Subform pallet as you go for erroneous positioned content.

  • Subform with table with expanding fields - please help!

    I am a new user of LiveCycle Designer ES and need help with a form.  I've made so many changes within the form that I have now lost track and don't know where to start to fix the following two issues:
    The form itself is one Master Page that needs to repeat, based on the amount of data entered.  This is not happening.
    Within the form is a Table with expanding fields.  It is when the last field is full that I need a new page created.Also, as the table expands, it overwrites the Footer, which is a subform.  The footer is set to have a top margin (.25).
    Any assistance would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

  • How to create a subform with several initialized rows?

    I have a repeating subform in my form that should start with several initialized rows.
    I can create several empty rows by setting the binding to "repeat subform for each data item" and setting the "min count", but I'd like to have values in one of the columns so this doesn't get me there.
    I can create multiple instances of my named subform and initialize the value for the column in question, but then if I have the "repeat subform for each data item" checked I get additional dups of all but the first row and the delete button (with click action "this.parent.instanceManager.removeInstance(this.parent.index);") and add button (click action "_rates.addInstance(1)") behave erratically.  By this I mean the add button sometimes adds rows with values that have been deleted previously, and the delete button sometimes pops up an alert saying something like "topmostSubform[0]:Page1[0]:rates[10]:delete_button[0].click Index value is out of bounds".
    There is no binding to a data source where I could pull the values for the column I wish to initialize.  I feel I'm close, if only I could find the correct settings for the binding palette.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

    Thank you for the suggesting Srini.  I'm trying to implement but struggling with the scripting for the buttons and the binding settings.
    I've tried the following for the click action for the delete buttons in each row:
         this.parent.instanceManager.removeInstance(this.parent.index);
    and this for the click action for the add button under the table:
         rate_table._Row1.addInstance(true);
    When I click on delete the javascript debugger pops up and tells me:
         GeneralError: Operation failed.
         XFAObject.removeInstance:1:XFA:topmostSubform[0]:Page1[0]:rate_table[0]:Row2[0]:delete_bu tton[0]:click
         The element [min] has violated its allowable number of occurrences.
    and when I click the add button the debugger tells me:
         General Error: Operation failed.
         XFAObject:addInstance:1:XFA:topmostSubform[0]:Page1[0]:#subform[16]:add_rates_button[0]:c lick
         The element [max] has violated its allowable number of occurences.
    Sounds like my binding settings are wrong, but I haven't been able to determine a correct combination.  Can you assist?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Creating a Dynamic Subform with Add button

    I am working in LiveCycle ES and I am trying to create a form that will have a user inputed heading that will show at the top of each page along with dynamically added subforms and can not seem to get the button to dynamically replicate the sub form to work.  I have the form saved as a dynamic pdf and the subforms are set to flow.  Any help would be appreciated.  I can send form if it will help.
    Thanks

    I am having the exact same problem.  The subform I want to duplicate is not a table.  I had to wrap my subform in another subform to maintain the position of the fields.  The button is contained in the larger subform, which is set to flow.  My hieracrchy looks like this:
    DateGridSubform (this subform is set to flow)
         DataGrid
              (various subform fields)
    AddButton (this subform is set to positioned)
    Any assistance available would be greatly appreciated.
