"Subject Area" in Info Business Event Group
What is the application "Training Center" in ESS? Why shoul I check/uncheck "Subject Area" check box so that a Business Event Group displays/not displays in the Training Center?

Hi Niveditha
The way you view the training courses in you portal can be simulated in your R/3 system using
transactions PV7I & PV8I. If you want to refine your searches with one particular course group, then
the subject area is useful. When you check this option for a course group, you will be able to search
courses under this particular course group only from the portal.

Cause and prerequisites
The system wants to access table HRPnnnn particularly by means of an entry in the infotype check table T777D. This access can be processed in various places, including in the profile generator. Here, a termination occurs if the 'ent' table/structure in the dictionary is no longer available. This generally affcts customer-specific infotypes. These have been created and possibly deleted again. However, the entry in table T777D is not available. You can also import the entry into another system with a transport of the table. If the HRP table/structure is then missing, a termination may also occur in this case.
Solution
You must check on an individual basis which infotype the termination refers to. If it is a customer-specific infotype, the customer is responsible for removing the cause of the termination. If the table entry is a 'remnant', the entry can simply be deleted.
If the termination refers to an SAP structure, you should consult SAP before carrying out any further activities.

When I create a Business Event Group, in the tab Further Information, there is something called Collaboration Room. What is it?

This is an integration point between TEM and LSO (Learning solution) modules.
Collaboration room are used in LSO.
First you need to have opened the integration switch via:
SPRO : SAP Learning solution -> TEM -> Integration -> Collaboration for Netweaver.

Business event group in an appraisal template catalog

Dear all
When i am going in S_AHR_61011889 to create a new business group i am able to create a business event group but it is not showing in PSV2 i.e. business event menu. Instead it is showing in S_AHR_61011887 - Master Data Catalog .
When i am creating a new Business event type and assigning the same to the above created Business event group then it disappears from S_AHR_61011887 - Master Data Catalog .
Ideally when a new business event group is created it should be shown in PSV2 i.e. business event menu but it is not showing.
Please help me out to solve this issue. Its urgent.

Creating a business event group is not a problem. T Code which you have given, business event group can be created but is is still being shown in Master Data Catalog and not in business event menu.
Creating a relationhip of event type & event group cvan be done but as soon as it is created it disappears from mastr data catalog.
In the past when ever i have created event group & event type it was shown in PSV2 i.e. business event menu.
Please guide me.

Subject area security validating users and groups from external table
Hi all.
I don't have practice to put question here, but there is one problem, that seems don't work correctly in OBIEE.
I'm trying to put users in groups within external table and this works fine.
I put security on the subject area level like this:
SA1 -> GroupA allow, Everyone not allow
SA2 -> GroupB allow, Everyone not allow
External table:
User----------Group
A---------GroupA;GroupB
B---------GroupB
Users A, B and GroupA, GroupB exists in the RPD, but I didn't put users inside them, I want this from table.
From the init block, external table I'm taking users and join them in the group. Same name users and groups are also in the presentation service.
When i connect with user A i don't see any subject area, when go to My Account i see in Group Membership/GroupA and GroupB, so it's readed from the external table.
Why in this case the subject area permission is not working?
It works if I explicitly put users in groups, in the RPD.
I have read this blog entry http://kpipartners.blogspot.com/2009/07/groups-webgroups-and-delivers.html and it is said that this works, but I'm interested how.
What should we have in the presentation part, administration, Manage Privileges -> Access within Oracle BI Answers option for those two subject area?

You don't need to set privileges in the RPD, in fact that's probably why it doesn't work for you. Leave your RPD Presentation Catalog as "Everyone" = Read as you will controlling access from the Presentation Services and it should work.

Business event group in transaction PSV2
Hi
I have created a business event group under current plan version using Transaction OOEG.
But I am unable to make it displayed in transaction code PSV2.
If i create some other group under an already existing one, it is getting displayed.
But if I create in the first level, the problem occurs.
Can somebody help to resolve this....

Thanks for the response.
current plan version date ranges from 01.10.2010 to 31.12.9999
The date for the created Business group is 01.01.2011.
Since it was well within the plan date, I didn't changed the settings in "change settings".
Later I tried with date range from 01.01.1900 to 31.12.9999.
Now it's getting displayed !.

Training & Event Management: Restrict Change to Business Event
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a way to restrict change to Business Event (eg. changes to the Event Schedule) based on certain business criteria? My criteria cannot restrict by authorization.
For eg. let say if something happens (based on business scenario), then my program will restrict the users to change details in Business Event, but they can still book Personnels to the event- so that means I can't use the LOCK/UNLOCK function.

Oh! Sorry I did not noticed your initial post date, any how at least we can share knowledge.
Regarding your concern about the FM, we have created function module ZHR_TRAINING_AUTH and table ZHR_TRAINING_AUTH to restrict authorization related to respective department secretaries and business event group.
Then in Customization to create and configure the profile: go to Human Resources > Personal Management > Personal Development > Settings > Current Settings > Define Authorization Profile
Then later on you can Assign this newly created profile to the users, then you are able to restrict.

Training & Event Management - ERROR while creating a Business Event
Dear All,
My issue is - i have created my Business event groups n event types. when i right click on BET (or PV10) and create With/WIthout resources i am unable to save. i.e. i am unable to create a Business Event. when i click on save the screen doesnt get saved and the business event is not created under BET.
But the icon pops at the Location. i have created few Locations via OOLC too
Is there any setting iam missing?? Request your help to get this resolved.

If you have a BusinessEvent .. you can find out the Type and Group with a Relationship it holds in table HRP1001.
Business Event Group is of Object Type "L"
Business Event Type is of Object Type "D"
and Business Event is of Object Type "E"
Business Event "E" is Linked BEType "D" with a Relationship <b>A020</b>
BEType "D" is linked with BEGroup "L" with a Relationship <b>A003</b>

One prompt for two or more subject area
Does someone knows how to resolve this problem?
I have two subject areas. And I need to create prompt that will work on dashboard that contain requests from two different subject areas (one request from one subject area). I hope that I was clear with this problem, if not I would try to explain it again.

Another way is to have the same naming in both subject areas. So the names of the items you can pick should be: both presentation table name as well as presentation column name. i.e.:
Subject Area A:
Product Dim
Product Group
Product Name
Subject Area B:
Product Dim
Product Group
Product Name
Then you can create a prompt on either Product Group name and it will affect reports from both subject area's

We are facing an issue where we are given only 1 OBIEE instance for testing.
I need to connect to DEV and a test instance.
I am thinking of an option where I will duplicate the subject area and create a new subject area.
For example: - My current subject are is 'Shipment Reports".
I will rename this as 'Shiment Report DEV" and duplicate this to create new subject area ( along with Business Model and Physical layer both) "Shipment Report UAT"
Now I will point 'Shiment Report DEV" to DEV database and "Shipment Report UAT" to UAT databse.
Is this possible and feasible?
Any other shortcut idea is also welcome. I tried merging of RPD but instead of creating 2 subject area, admin is retaining only 1 subject area.
I want to duplicate existing subject area.
Appreciate the inputtake a copy of existing rpd calling as A.rpd and the base one is as base.rpd
in A.rpd rename Physical layer then BMM layer and then Presentation layer
and do the connection settings to point Test envi.
save it and keep open the A.rpd
Using different Admintool open base.rpd
Copy Physical layer content from A.rpd using CTRL+C
in base.rpd click on physical layer and paste it, then save with no consistence
Do the same for each BMM and Presentation
at the end save + consistence
host it, mark this as correct and have fun -

Convention flag on Infotype 1029 (Business Event Type Info)

I need to use this functionality of checking the convention flag & specify that my business event type is a multi-session event consisting of multiple sessions running in parallel.
However, this indicator does not even appear for me.
I am using TEM (ECC 6.0) & not LSO (I am aware that LSO does not support marking a course type as convention)
I need to use this functionality & am looking for any inputs on how to get this to display for me.
