Subject in mail reciver

Hey,
I have an rfc-xi-mail scenario, i pass the rfc as a xml file in the mail, i need to pass in the subject of the mail message a filed from the rfc.
Is that possible? could not find valid info about it in sdn.

May be try with Using Mail Attributes . Otherwise you need to try with UDF for accessing subject attribute

  • Emails showing different subject to mail headers

My mail provider is gmail via IMAP, and I connect to this via the mail application.
Until recently all was good with the world.
Now I randomly get a mismatch between the mail sender, the subject that is listed for the mail and the actual email that is shown.
To give an example. if I received two emails from the same person within a few hours, the first email would have the correct sender but either the wrong subject or email body or both and the second email would have the reverse. So the only part that mail is getting right is the sender, the rest is mismatched.
When I look in more details at the email headers via > Mail>View>Message>All Headers the correct Subject is listed in the headers but a combination of the wrong subject appearing in the preview and the wrong actual email are the manifestation of the problem.
    Some additional info.
In Mail, I have multiple folders, and total mail volume is plus 6GB.
What have I done up till now to fix the problem
    1. Mailbox rebuild; done multiple times, and whilst this does fix the problem for a short time, within 24 hours it reoccurs with different messages (random). Problem with this fix is its temporary and rebuilding your  mailbox multiple times is a pain.
    2. Removal of account from Mail and rebuild. again this is a temporary fix and whislt this does fix the problem for a short time, within 24 hours it reoccurs with different messages (again random).
    3. Total removal of the mail account from mail and deletion of all the associated mail files in the ~/Library/<user>/Maildata/V2.... folder followed by a full import of the mail from scratch. This one is a bit more interesting. The occurrence of the problem seems to be on the newest mail. With this method all mail rules/filters had also been deleted before the resync of mail, hence ruling out the filters as a possible source of the issue. But again randomly mail would be incorrectly listed with the wrong subject.
Why is this a pain, I'll add this just to get everything down on this listing.
So an email client that get one third of the tasks it meant to handle isn't really an email client at all, its a mail transformer and not in a good way, more of a random deceptacon kind of way and its highly infuriating. I have seen various listings about similar problems to this but mostly they seem to be solved by mailbox rebuilding of the mail indexes etc etc. These aren't permanent fixes for this problem and I would be very interested to hear if anyone has similar and has actually fixed this, or are people simply waiting for a fix in the next upgrade of mail in yosemite? or is these something more going on between mail and the interaction with gmail?
    Comments welcome.

    Kfir,
I guess you've implemented a mapping to create the target email ? If so, you could a feature to build the subject depending on a source message context (field value ? sender ? etc) ...
Otherwise, you may play with dir objects (intf determination for instance) to use different mappings (so diff. subjects) to create target mail (depending on sender/receiver etc) ...

  • Change subject of mail provided by Report RSWUWFML2

    Hi
I am using program RSWUWFML2 to generate Notification with executable attachment for workitems that are assigned to a User. The requirement is to change the Subject line or rather increase the number of characters that appear in the subject line. Presently the System Id along with workitem text appears and the the Workitem text is getting truncated.
Is there any way to change this subject of the mail that is generated from this program? The Workitem text should change accordingly with respect to Workitem Text.
    Thanks

    Hi Arghadip,
This is a tough one but have you lookat at what happens in the form SEND_MESSAGES around the line
        IF l_body IS INITIAL.
    *     If there is no text, we create a default text.
l_body = 'This work item has no description.'(m06).
        ENDIF.
Have you tried changing l_body in debug at this point and seeing if the output is what you want.  I have tried in the past but been hit with a 50 character limit around where it is used as a SOLI transfer, but this part is worth a look.
    Good luck

  • Transport rule doesn't work (trying to prepend a subject when mail comes to a second domain).

This is an SBS2011 and accepts mail for two mail domains (successfully), but I am trying to phase out one of the two domains.
I cannot find a better way to do it, but I have simply created this rule:
    priority 0
    when a recipient's address contains '@<olddomain>.gr'
prepend message subject with '[GR!] '
    It doesn't do anything.
It's not a matter of restarting services or waiting for some kind of replication. This rule is created (and is enabled yes) more than a month.
    Any ideas?
EDIT: In Message Tracker, I find a test message has the following entry just after receiving from remote mail server:
"The e-mail address for recipient "<myself>@<olddomain>.gr" was updated to the e-mail address "<myself>@M<newdomain>.com". The message is in the process of being delivered.
...then I have the successful delivery, without transport rule kicking in.
So is the problem related to the recipient having BOTH email addresses set? Then why system replaces the old with the default? Probably this is why the rule doesn't kick (as it doesn't match any more).
Is there a way to prevent this replacement, since I want the recipients to still get reached by the mail?
    NLS

    Hi NLS,
I would like to verify if you apply the rule for your primary email address.
You can try to use the following cmdlet to achieve your goal.
New-TransportRule -Name 'New Rule' -Comments 'Comment' -HeaderContainsMessageHeader 'Received' -HeaderContainsWords 'olddomain.com'-FromAddressContainsWords
    '[email protected]' -PrependSubject "OLDDOMAIN"
    Hope it helps.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to let me know.

  • Dynamic mail subject in mail adapter

    Hi.
Two different interfaces are using the same mail adapter. Is it possible to change the subject of the email (that gets generated by the receiver mail adapter) depending on whcih interface gets triggered?
    Thanks.
    Anuradha.

    Anuradha
You can change the subject through mapping. For different interface you can send different subjects.

  • How to change subjects in Mail?

    Dear all,
after upgrading to 10.5, I gave up with Eudora as the performance was getting to slow and moved to Mail.
But now I miss one function: How can I change the subject of a received mail? I'm used to change the subject in received mails to show the status of business mails of our small wollemond-business.
    Any ideas?

I've tried both solutions and they work.

The inability to change the subject of a received message seems to be the major complaint of Eudora users who have switched to mail.app. Here is an applescript that will let you do this.
Select the message whose subject you want to change and then run this script.
    tell application "Mail"
set theMessage to item 1 of (the selection as list)
set the subject of theMessage to my getNewSubject(subject of theMessage)
    end tell
    on getNewSubject(OldSubject)
return text returned of (display dialog "Enter the new subject of the message and press Enter." default answer OldSubject)
    end getNewSubject
However, after the script runs, you will have to click out of the message folder and then back into it in order to see the change.

  • Dynamically pass subject via mail adapter without using mail package

    Hi,
We have requirement to pass the Dynamic variable as Mail subject
we can't use Mail Package as we need to capture the data from Dynamic SOAP header Data from incomming channel
Dynamic SOAP Header variable (XHeaderName1) comming from Sender SOAP channel.
Receiver side we need to capture that XHeaderName1 in Mail Adapter channel using ASMA and Variable transport binding so that value of XHeaderName1 should overwrite Subject under General/ Mail Atribute section.
Could you please let me know, how to handle this requirement using module configuration?
Also suggest the correct configuration to use ASMA and Variable transport binding.

  • Missing Subject in Mail 10.6.4.

Just did the update to 10.6.4, had WideMail installed and 10.6.4 disabled it with the new version of mail.app. The problem now (besides the fact that mail.app is garbage without WideMail) is that the "Subject" line has disappeared completely. Under view columns it's not listed at all. Any ideas?

Can't fix Widemail (for now). But I did find a solution to the missing Subject column.
Before you begin, it's probably a good idea to remove the Widemail folder that was created during the installation (~/Library/Mail/Bundles/Widemail)
    1. Trash the Mail preferences file (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist)
    2. Mail opens with all the columns, but no email accounts.
    3. If you have MobileMe, re-sync your email accounts (make sure you tell MobileMe to replace data on your computer by clicking ADVANCED, then Reset Sync Data.)
    4. If you DO NOT have MobileMe, you'll have to manually reset all of your email accounts in Mail

  • Messageid in subject of mail in mail-adapter

    hi,
we want to send ORDER-documents to our supplier via eMail.
As subject in these mails we have to set the messageid of the document.
Is it possible to set the subject of a mail in a j2ee-module? I didn't find any information about that in the XI- or module-documentations.
    Regards,
    Thorsten

    Hi,
you don't need modules if you have at least sp14
(with it you can easily set subject inside a mapping)
you can also use mail package in which you can also
set the mail subject <--but this method is not as flexible as the first one

    Hi,
Check out what Dhruba has suggested below first, but if the program has been set up to do this instead try the following
Go to transaction OMFE and look down the list to see which program has been allocated to the Output type and medium that you are using (probably NEU and 5 or 7? if you are using the standard oputput condition types).
Then get your ABAP programmer to check and change the code of that program.

  • Search for subject in Mail is case sensitive

I'm hoping this is the right place to ask questions about Apple Mail as the organisation of this forum is mind baffling.
Am I right in thinking that a search on the subject in Apple Mail is case sensitive. If so, how do I change this behaviour ?

    HD wrote:
Hi and welcome to Apple Discussions.
I agree it's silly that there doesn't appear to be a separate topic heading for questions about Mail. I think perhaps they want you to post under the version of the system software you're using. But what do I know?
As far as I can see, subject searches in Mail (at least under Yosemite) are not case sensitive. I searched for "your" (all lower case) in the subject and found, among others:
Searching for "Your" (upper case "Y") finds exactly the same messages.
    Hope this helps,
    H
Strange this, because that's what I thought, having used Apple Mail for years. Tried it again and you are right, it is not case sensitive, but earlier today I did a search that definitely returned a different set of results when I changed the word "hours" to "Hours". I wonder if somehow I inadvertently triggered a case sensitive option.

  • Mojibake in subjects in Mail.app

Sometimes (fairly often) Japanese email (e.g. charset ISO-2022-JP) arrives with the subjects unreadable (mojibake).
These same emails when viewed in Mail on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7 look just fine. And of course they always look fine directly in Gmail.
Furthering the problem, if I reply to the email like that, the recipient gets a corrupted subject back, and sometimes even an entire corrupted email.
Is there a way to get Mail.app to not corrupt the Japanese subjects?
    Thanks,
    Doug

I don't think there is anything you do to fix how Mail does such things (other than perhaps run your entire OS in Japanese).  Let Apple know via
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
When you do View > Message > Raw Source, what sort of encoding is indicated in the subject line?

    Hi Ganesh
Its not possible to use more thatn 50 characters in send mail step for subject. May be you can try with the FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 with more than 50 line in the subject.

  • Only see "Subject" in Mail.app headers

Since very recently, the only Mail header data that I can see is the Subject.
Even after changing the "Show header detail' to "All" in the "Viewing" preference, I still only see the Subject data.
The only way to see the full header data is when I forward an mail and the header data appears in the body of the new email message.
Any suggestions on how to get my headers back?
