Subject : plugin for cs4 extended

Please tell me if a plugin for a Nikon D300s raw files is available for CS4extended. If this is available, how do I go about downloading it?

Hi,
The usual way would be to go to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs4 to download and install camera raw 5.7, which should
then enable photoshop cs4 to open the nikon D300s camera raw files.
if you do the above, there may be other updates avaiable, which you should install as well.

  • Favicon plugin for CS4 on Vista

I tried the much mentioned and acclaimed favicon plugin for Photoshop
from www.telegraphics.com.au. It did not work.
I am on Vista (Win 64-bits) so I tried the Vista work around. Still no

Anybody any idea of how to get a good favicon from an image using

Indeed, it does show up in the 32-bit version! Probably has been there

  • Manual for CS4 Extended?

I found the 705-page Help Manual for Photoshop CS4 but I can't find any Help coverage for the Extended portion dealing with 3D graphics.  Is there a separate manual online or even available from Adobe?

There is only one help covering both versions.

  • SGI RGB Plugin for CS4 Broken?

I got the old legacy support plugin for my version of CS4, and I've read over these forum posts:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404900.html
I can read an RGB successfully one time, but once I try to open another file after that it fails with:
"Could Not Complete Your Request because the plugin entry point could not be found."
If I restart PS it works, but again I can only load one file, then all the others after that fail.
I suspect its my operating system.
Using nVidia Quadro 2000 on Intel Xeon W3550 with 4GB Ram. XP Pro x64
PS CS4 V11.0 32Bit. (64 bit does not appear to have this problem)
    Any suggestions?

You mentioned using Photoshop 11.0 and didn't list the minor revision...  Have you installed the updates from Adobe?  It's up to 11.0.2.
This is probably something you already know, based on what you've written, but just in case, I want to make sure you're clear that a 32 bit plug-in file is needed to work with Photoshop 32 bit, and that it needs to be put in a different place than a 64 bit plug-in for the 64 bit variant of Photoshop.

You can't. Features from new versions require you to buy the new version.

  • HD Photo Plugin for CS4

I wonder if HD Photo Plugin only works for CS2 and CS3.
I have CS4 and need to open HD Photo image (.wdp).
    I appreciate any information.

That plug-in has nothing to do with viewing normal JPEG files, it is for viewing Miicrosoft HD Photo files.
You need to fix your file associations in Windows.

  • PCD Plugin for CS4?

Trying to open Kodak PCD files in CS4 with no luck.  Is there a plugin available for this?  I've checked out a few older threads discussing CS3, as well as a few links to the Kodak website.  Nothing has worked so far.
    Thanks in advance

KODAK no longer supports PhotoCD or the file format plug-in.

We recommend that users batch convert the PCD files into Tiff or another format using an old version of PS on a supported OS and hardware.

  • Installing UseOldShortcuts.plugin for CS4

I'm trying to get back the old Channel keyboard shortcuts. Has anyone else done this and had problems?
I followed the instructions "The Mac plug-in just needs to be dropped into your Photoshop plug-ins directory" to place the UseOldShortcuts.plugin loose into my Applications>Photoshop CS4>Plug-Ins folder, but after restarting Photoshop the Channel keyboard shortcuts haven't changed.
I tried throwing out some of my User prefs: Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp, Keyboard Shortcuts.psp, and PlugIn Cache.psp. I can't think of anything else to try. Is there a particular Plug-Ins subfolder it should go into?
Also, does this UseOldShortcuts.plugin change any other shortcuts besides the Channels?

    Hi Ann,
"I decided that it really was going to be much easier to learn the new shortcuts in CS4 from the get-go"
You may be right. However, as a lefty the Cmd Option 1 100% view doesn't add anything, plus conceptually it's really easier to keep track of all the channels when the 1st channel is #1. Also, it's a real stretch to Command #5 and up for Alpha Channels. Finally, I frequently work off-site on other people's computers and it's likely some of these will only have CS3 for some time. Switching between shortcuts for different versions right now is likely to be harder than switching over in CS5 (when most legacy programs I work with will be CS4) if they do drop the OldShortcuts plugin.
Even without the new Channel shortcuts there's still a huge amount to learn and get used to UI-wise with CS4.
In any case, I'd still like to know why the plug-in isn't working for me.

  • [CS4] About the Optional plugins for CS4

Once the optional plugins are installed as discussed in the pdfs that come with them.  In this case, the contact sheet plugin, into Photoshop plugins directory.
How is it then accessed inside photopshop?
I see a little note in the pdf saying that it is `optional' to add the plugin to the bridge scripts directory, but if not, then it must be possible to access that plugin from photshop, but I don't see it anywhere.
I put the contact sheet plugin at:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Automate\ContactSheetII.8LI
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins\Automate\
Putting the 64 and 32 bit plugins in the appropriate directories.
Where should I be looking inside PS?  Nothing appears under Filters

If the plugins are installed right, then they should be under File>Automate in photoshop.

  • MB Looks plugin for CS4

Can someone confirm that the 'MB Looks'  vers 1.2 plug-in works fine (perfectly)  in CS4...before I install it please.

none of the much needed presets are there.
I personally would argue with the use of the phrase "much needed", having never once found the presets suitable.

  • I've unknowingly sold pirated copies of Adobe CS4 Extended on Ebay

And would like to know what I should/could do to help Adobe and bring about some kind of resolution.
It's a bit of a long story, but I'm a top-rated powerseller on Ebay and a few weeks ago I answered an ad on Craigslist for CS4 Extended at $199 a piece.  I really had no idea what the software retailed for, but after searching Ebay and finding them selling for an average of about $399-$499, figured they probably went for somewhere around $600-$700.  I decided I'd sell them for $299 and make a quick $100 off each sale.  And boy did they go fast.  I bought 5 copies at first, placed the ad that night and by the time I woke up the next morning they’d all sold.  I met the seller again that afternoon and bought four more copies.  Again, they sold immediately.
That's when I started feeling a tinge of nervousness.  I'm from Seattle, so I didn't really think twice when the seller told me their source was a person who worked at Microsoft and had access to the "Microsoft store" (which is somewhat infamous here because of how cheap you can get software for if you have access).  But nine copies?  This was just too easy.  I took one of my copies and drove across town to Best Buy to see how well it matched up to theirs.  And it matched perfectly, but I was stunned at the $900 price tag and therefore the ‘matching up’ did little to help my nervousness.  I ran home, hopped on the PC and found that one of my buyers lived about 20 miles from my house. Okay, this was a way to find out for sure!  I emailed and called them, but after getting no response I made the decision to drive to their apartment later that afternoon, unannounced, with a copy of the software in hand.  Unfortunately they weren't home so I left a note, which essentially stated that I was very sorry for dropping by like this, but my computer's CD Rom wasn't working (which it wasn’t) and wanted to make sure that the software they'd bought was legitimate.  I stated that I hoped they wouldn't mind installing in my presence so I didn't end up shipping out the other copies only to end up ripping people off and creating a mess.
It wasn't until the next morning that I heard back from him, via an email stating how rude it was that I came by like that, and to simply mail the software to them and they'd let me know if it didn't work.  Although I knew it was a possibility, It definitely wasn't the response I was hoping for.  Dang.
In my Ebay ad, I'd promised 2-3 day delivery on the software, so made the horrible decision to go ahead and ship them out that afternoon, keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.  After all, these looked real, all the way down to the product ID sticker, pamphlet, CD artwork, etc.  If these were fake, then someone went to a LOT of trouble and spent a LOT of money to make them look real.  I guess I figured that my chances of them being pirated were pretty slim considering the financial aspect of the alternative.  I did a little research and found that just the shrink-wrapping machine would probably have set the "pirater" back a couple of thousand dollars, then the professional looking pamphlet, the box insert, the box itself, the little stickers...this would be one heck of an undertaking.  What are the chances someone would have the means to do something like that?  Well unfortunately, much higher than I thought.
The first Ebay complaint was filed a few days later and the others soon followed.  All the work I’d put in to Ebay began crumbling down around me and I called the man I’d bought them from under the guise of wanting to buy more.  We met at a local Burger King and I confronted him about my situation.  In response, he repeated what he’d told me the first time I bought them:  The software was definitely legitimate and he’d had three different opportunities to install it himself on behalf of his buyers, all of which were successful.
I pointed out that not a single registration code was valid and that some of my buyers had actually called Adobe and were flat-out told by representatives that they’d bought illegitimate software.  Every last copy of the software I sold was being returned.  I said that I wasn’t concerned as much about his level of culpability, but that I get money back to be able to pay for the accumulating refunds.  Of course he seemed sincere in telling me that he’d get back to me, but I haven’t heard a word from him since we parted that day.  But something positive did come of the meeting!  In parting, I pretended to drive away only to circle back around and see him get into his vehicle (he’d parked quite a distance from our meeting place) and got his license plate number.
The timing of this mess was incredibly horrible because I was moving at the end of last month and it cost me a small fortune.  When it came to being able to refund people, I simply didn’t have the money.  I called Ebay and Paypal, told them my situation, what had happened, and they covered the refunds for me but informed me that I have two weeks to pay them back before they shut down my account.
I’ve sold on Ebay for over two years and it’s my biggest source of income by far (I’m a waiter by trade otherwise).  I’ve lost that now and have only myself and my bad judgment to blame.  But I would like this person to be held accountable for his part; even if that means that I have to face consequences myself.
This happened over two weeks ago, but I’ve not called the local police yet because I’m not so sure that they have either the tools or the motivation to pursue something like this.  Instead I’ve been scanning Craigslist to make sure he’s not still selling (it seems he’s laying low right now) and figured I’d contact Adobe and see what course of action they’d like me to take.  I’m wondering how aggressive they are in making sure piraters are prosecuted and how they go about doing it.  Hence this post.
I’m in a financial mess at the moment and have been working a lot of double-shifts lately in my scramble to come up with money; I haven’t had much time to be able to contact Adobe during their office hours and thought I’d write this in the hopes that someone from Adobe will read it and be able to point me directly to someone who handles this sort of thing.
This guy lied to me about successfully installing this software, so I have every reason to believe that he’s knowingly and directly involved in the operation.  I still have the returned software.  What should I do?

Since your intention was to sell legit software, I'm sorry that you were as much a victim as your buyers were.  I don't know what else you could do except report it as others have suggested and pay your customers back.  Companies like Adobe don't have the resources to follow up on every individual case of piracy, but they should be interested in tracking down the sources of the big professional counterfeiting rings.  Judging from your description of the packages you sold and the cost of producing such packages, I assume they come from such a source.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
I'm from Seattle, so I didn't really think twice when the seller told me their source was a person who worked at Microsoft and had access to the "Microsoft store" (which is somewhat infamous here because of how cheap you can get software for if you have access).
I don't get the connection - you were selling Adobe software, not Microsoft software.

  • Camera raw plugin for cs3 for Nikon D3000

Does anyone know if there is a plugin for CS3 extended to allow me to veiw/edit camera raw NEF files shot with a Nikon D3000?

Hello, as stated on this page: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407111.html the first version of Camera Raw that supported the NEFs of the D3000 is 5.5.
Unfortunately, it is not compatible with CS3. You should use Camera Raw 4.6, Win | Mac and convert the NEF to DNG files with the DNG converter: (Windows® | Mac OS)  more info:  http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html

  • 3rd Party Plugins for Flash CS4

Are there any resources to find 3rd party plugins for Flash CS4?  I've used plugins in older versions of Flash, but I'm new to CS4.  I'm wanting to a lot of cool things with a site including photo carousels, image transitions, visual effects, etc., but I'm not sure where to get started.  Perhaps I shouldn't even be looking at plugins?   Maybe I am really looking for tutorials on how to make cool effects in Flash?

Haven't seen one. Anyway lists get out of date.
I guess the best way to get the latest information is to visit each manufacturer's web site.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended, owned for ages, licensing for this product has expired? Was using it two months ago.

    Hello,
I have been trying to get Adobe's help for over a month now. I've been on the phone twice to them, opened up three seperate cases and still arrived at no solution. I was bought Photoshop CS4 Extended awhile ago and use it for my studies (I'm an art student). Two months ago my harddrive on my computer failed and I had to have a new laptop. I went to reinstall Photoshop and "Licensing for this product has expired" comes up. I've uninstalled, inreinstalled many times and used Microsoft Fix It Programme for uninstalling to make sure all the files are gone.
Surfing the forums I learned that there should be a folder with back up and Adobe PCD but I don't have that folder at all. The serial number I use is my original serial number that I know works and adobe have even said it's a technical error. What do I do? College starts again in two weeks and I don't have the programme I use for it!

Try the License Repair Tool Adobe - Adobe Licensing Repair Tool
Other suggestions if this doesn't work: Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Windows
Also if you must uninstall, use the Adobe CS Cleaner tool, not the Microsoft one. Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
