Submerged iPhone - repair possible

My iPhone was submerged while on. I am pretty sure it is a total loss. I let it dry out, then plugged it in - all it does is get really hot.
My problem is that I live abroad (no Apple stores here) and I need to get a repair estimate or a statement that it cannot be repaired in order for my credit card to cover the damage. Is this possible without visiting an apple store? (Even just a conditional statement that said if it was submerged it will not be repairable would suffice.)

you will find all the contact information under support at apple.com -- they don't respond to e-mail, you need to talk to support who will tell you about their repair service.
Repairs, either out of warranty or for something you break yourself (like submerging it) are 250.00 plus shipping.
Note that they won't really repair your iPhone -- they will just send out a new one.
If you are using a sim-unlocked phone overseas then you are out of luck, since the new one they send you will not work with anything but ATT.

I bought my iPhone 5s in a bundled package from Indonesia's largest carrier on 28 January 2014 at its Jakarta office and its still under warranty except for user mistake.
My iphone fell in a swimming pool in Bali and is now not working and am scared to plug it in again as people say it can blow up terminally so should get checked at repair shop. The carrier's branch in Bali said to go to the only major retailer who does repairs here but they refused me as they only repair the ones they sell directly.
Then I called the carrier head office in Jakarta and they referred me to the supplier/importer that they partnered with in the bundling of the package (included purchase of phone and one year mobile and internet service all paid for in up front lump sum payment.)
This company said they do repairs under warranty but only if the damage is not the fault of the user - so they could not try to repair it even though I offered to pay. They wont accept it. They said the only ones they look at are under warranty and they usually just replace them, not repair them. They said my only solution with them was to buy a new iPhone from them.
After calling around to many iPhone retail outlets, none offered repair services and referred me back to the same carrier who already said they could not help
I then called the pple support number listed under the apple support website - 001803657955 and a subsequent number given me on the call 0018030612009 and after following a few prompts got the message to call my carrier - back to square one.
Please, Please, Please tell me where I can put my Iphone to an authorised iPhone repair shop in Indonesia where they can inspect it professionally and either fix it or tell me its terminally dead. I am quite prepared to pay for this.

There are different levels of damage according to how wet it gets. and some friends who got their iPhone wet were able to get it going again when they took it to Singapore.
THe he problem I have is that there is Zero Apple authorised repair service for ANY problem one has with an IPhone if it is not covered by warranty. You cannot pay to have service on and IPhone if it is not working for ANY reason if it is out of warranty period or if still under warranty but not working through fault of user. No matter how much you want to pay they won't open it up and check it out.
SO now there are some small businesses who see this gap in Apples service to customers and offer to repair services themselves. With wet IPhones I heard they mainly open it up and dry it out with alcohol. And sometimes this works. But none have received training from Apple so it's a cowboy business and results are uncertain.
imagine if an automobile brand refused to support paid repairs for motor vehicles out of warranty period.
the cost of a new IPhone 5s here is $950, and it seems the new IPhone 6 will be out in one month, so it seems crazy to buy a new IPhone 5 now.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Adobe Air Initiates the wrong launch Image on iPhone 6 - Possible App Rejection by Apple Review Team for all developers

I've opened a bug for this issue as well. I want to ask if anyone experiencing the same issue and has found a workaround. Basically Air Runtime is picking up the wrong launch image when launching on iPhone 6. It defaults to [email protected] instead of the [email protected] iOS 8 picks the correct image but Air Runtime does not. Here is the link for the bug. If this is confirmed, this could result in rejection for all the app developers who optimized their apps for iPhone 6 . It is hard to catch this bug in release mode since the Air Runtime loads pretty fast and it occurs when you device is slow or doing something in the background. You can see it easily on iOS simulator or debug mode. We tried everything for a workaround but we failed.

Apple recommends the storyboard/xib option but you can still use launch images as assets in your root. When you open a new project in xcode you can look at Contents.json and see the naming conventions they use for iOS8. We grabbed the new naming convention from here. Also setting up in the application xml the UILaunchImages key works too. Please see the below example. It would be a better solution if Adobe Air refers to xml/info.plist values that the developer sets instead of hard-coded naming conventions.

Replace battery, replace dock. Then pray. Or essentially the same thing, transfer your iPhone Logic Board into another iPhone. Then pray. If Logic Board is recoverable these will get you to computer Desktop or iTunes so you can get your photos.

L720 SIM Connection Points Broken - Repair Possibl...

Accidently, i damaged the sim connection points inside the sim jacket. The phone does not pick up SIM anymore. Took it to local repair shops, they tried but it did not work. They say the micro SIM jacket has to be replaced and it is not available in market yet. Would Nokia Care be having it and is repair possible? Please note it's the sim jacket on the board, not the one you put the sim on and then place it into the slot.
I fear the phone is gone for good. Has anyone had similar experience and did your phone get repaired by Nokia Care?

This can often happen if an older-style Mini-SIM that has been cut down to Micro-SIM size because the older ones were slightly thicker. As has already been said, the repair could be expensive.

Can I get my iphone repaired for free?

I think there is a problem with my Iphone 3GS. I got it as a gift just over a week ago (not sure if it has had previous owners or not) but since I've had it, it seems to have a problem with charging. Now and again when I plug it in to charge it will come up saying 'charging accessory not supported' or something along those lines but I am using the official charger that came with the phone. I have swapped wires and tried multiple chargers but they all seem to have this problem. The phone was on the latest IOS software when I received it too.
It happens on/off and it could be fine for a few days and suddenly it will start doing it again. The phone vibrates as if it is about to start charging but on the second vibration the messages comes up. When the phone reaches 100% charge this messages also occurs and I've asked other Iphone users who have said that it is just my phone that does this. Is there a problem with the phone and can I get it repaired for free? as I believe I have not done anything to cause the problem and it is a fault with the phone itself.
I was told the phone was only a couple of months old so I thought it would still be under warranty but different websites seem to say different things when I type in my serial number.

You can tell from the serial number that your phone was manufactured in the 16th week of 2010 (3rd through 5th digit) and the Apple warranty is 1 year from the date of initial activation. Note that the warranty follows the phone.
However, in your case with the SN you provided, your phone is a 16GB black 3GS locked to O2 in the UK and was originally sold in the UK and has as the most recent activation date 6/15/2012.
Unfortunately, https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do shows that your warranty has expired.
I suspect that you are having a problem with the dock connector in the phone not making a consistently good contact. As others have mentioned, make sure that your connector is clean (no lint) perhaps by using a soft tooth brush. Since you are using Apple chargers and cables and have swapped cables then if cleaning the port doesn't work it would appear that your only option is to have the charger port replaced. Now, I'm assuming that the phone was never opened to replace a screen, battery or other repair because if it was there would be the possibility that a connector is loose or bad.

2G iPhone repairs in Canada - Options?

I ran into a huge problem with my iPhone 2G this weekend - I dropped my bag with the phone in it and now the bottom part of the screen is non-responsive. I have looked at forums, etc. and have restored my phone and I am pretty sure it is a hardware issue here and will not be fixed without replacing the LCD screen/digitizer.
My question right now is - What are my options? I know that I can pay Apple or a 3rd-party repair shop to replace to screen, which could cost me $200-$300. In the former case, would Apple Stores in Canada be able to repair my 2G "out of warranty" phone? or are they only able to service 3G phones?
On the other hand, is there anything I can do in terms of getting this done for free? I have dropped the phone a few times now so there are some marks on the side so it is obvious that there has been some accidents. Even in the case that it was in perfect condition, what would I do since I have no receipt and I am in Canada?
Just a side note, if this may help, I am a to-be employee at the Apple Store I would go to for repair (I was just hired) but I am more wondering if 2G iPhone servicing is even possible...

I have the same problem....My Iphone bought in october 2007 has problems with the bottom part of the touchscreen so I cannot take calls or send sms or play music:( I even had a Ipod 5th generation 30Gb version purchased in June 2006 which conked in December 2007. Last time I visited the nearest "Apple store", I was told they won't touch either of these as they are mere "resellers" of Apple products and not dealers...infact there are none in India! So I am now left with two bad Apples! (Pun intended)
Anyways after this experience, I can only warn people who want to buy the Ipod or the to-be-launched Iphone 3G in India: Caveat Emptor! Buy only i you can take the risk of a product with no local support!

I have received an email for an iPhone repair I haven't had done, what should I do?

I received an email to my iCloud account this morning saying that my iphone had been repaired in a shop in anchorage, I live in England.
There is obviously something wrong but I cannot find anywhere on the apple website where I can forward this to say the email is incorrect, any ideas please?

Yesterday i had requested an online repair for my iPhone as it had a speaker fault. So this morning when i woke up, my iPhone was lying on the floor, i think must've dropped it while asleep. Well anyways, i tested it all and it seems to be working fine, the speaker problem is sorted now
So now there is no need to send it for repair, how do i cancel this? I have also recieved an empty box from Apple with AppleCare box. What do i do about them?

Share photos over iphone problem - possible improvement to iOS.

I haver an ipad mini and usually Share photos to a friend iphone. I found out that the sync of shared photos over icloud uses 3G/data plans and it is not possible to disable this (or is it? How?).
This is a problem because when several friend shares photos the mobile data plan is heavily affected and it be a good idea to have this sync online by wifi, even of the iphone user acepts the Share on 3G. This would be a good option that the user could activate or not.
