Are there any good tutorials about how best to use the new Submit All button in Captivate 6?

Thanks for your interest to know about Submit All. Submit All solves following scenarios.
a) User can go back and forth on quiz slides and change the selections and submit all at once.
b) When user submits the quiz results to LMS all the answers are submitted at one go rather than submitting at each slide.

I have included a few Drag and drop questions into a summative assessment task. I would like the user to be able to browse through their answers and change them until the point that they activate the "Submit All Button". I am using Captivate 7. Can this be done?

Not at all, sorry, and I doubt someone else will offer you a solution, since you'll want it to happen for all question slides + Drag&Drop. Maybe you don't know that they call me the 'workaround' queen

Submit All button for all text entry boxes at end of exam in Captivate 7

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum, and I was hoping that someone could help me out with a problem that has been eating my lunch for the last week.
I have a captivate 7 project that I am setting up as a virtual workbook, with text entry boxes asking true/false, yes/no, and short essay questions through out the most part of the workbook, and then at the end it has a series of multiple choice questions that are set up on question slides. Is there a way to have all of the text entered in the text entry boxes submited along with the quiz questions at the end, to my LMS? And if at all possible, still inform the user if there are any questions that have not been answered? Like I said, I am new to this forum, so if I forgot to include any important information, I apologise, but if anyone could help me ouot, I would be extreemly thankful!

thenks for the reply Lilybiri! As far as I have been able to find, there is no way to associate a submit all button with TEBs, so I am not sure if this is something that I am overlooking, or if I am misunderstanding the recomemendation.
What I am trying to do is set up a bunch of TEBs to be answer entry boxes for questions throughout the workbook, which will lead up to an exam. The exam, I am good on, because it has the submit all button attached. But the TEBs that I am using as the answer entry boxes, I can't seem to find a way to link them all to the same submit button.
I hope I am being pretty clear about it, but I've been pounding away at this for a while, so I fear it might come out a but rambly. So, please let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Customised "Submit All" Button

Is it possible to build a customised "Submit All" button so that we can add advanced actions to the button?

I fear that having the Submit all button on a slide by itself will screw up everything. Moreover, user can decide to end the questions on any slide, which means you should also need a navigation to that unique slide from each question slide?
Why not think about a rollover warning on each slide?

Submit vs Submit All in Quiz

Hi,
When i use submit button i am able to access cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice variable in the next slide. But if i use Subimit All and click on next, variable cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice is empty in the next slide. How can i access selected answer if i use submit all?

Neither the system variables cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice nor cpQuizInfoLastSlidePointsscored are populated in that situation, already did see that. Reason is probably that total score is calculated whenever the user decides to click the Submit All button, because only then the answers are taken into account. Tried it out: the total score (cpQuizInfoPointsscored) is calculated each time you click Submit All, but when you didn't answer all questions it can be changed, which is not the case with the normal quiz flow. Go back to a question and change it, when clicking Submit All again, the score will be recalculated. I agree that it is a pity that the first two variables that I mentioned are not populated anymore, or at least you cannot access them. With the new Quiz features there are some other system variables that should be available or at least be accessible IMO. If you could enter a feature request, any support for my own requests is welcome.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I need to change the Submit All window's "Return to Quiz" button to "Return to Exam" but don't see where I can do it. Any suggestions?

I have solution for you.
Close Adobe Captivate if you have it opened.
Go to: Adobe Captivate/en-US/
Back up files strings.txt and strings.zdct.
Open strings.txt.
Find text you want to change. Save the file. Make copy of it and rename it to strings.zdct which is placed in same folder.
This solution works just for projects made from blank after doing this tutorial. It doesn´t work for your old projects sadly, even when you resave them.

How to hide all button except one in a PageButtonBar

Hello,
I am newbie to OAF.
And i am trying to do is, when i would clink on a submit button of my Update page(page is using Train. All the buttons are in a TrainFooter Region, whose lay out is pageButtonBar and Submit button only visible when i am on the last page of train, i.e. Summary Page) then all the button except one (Back to Search Page) will get hide.
Pls let me know where i need to work to do this, i try to do it in PR but no change get reflect.

Yes, i want only "Back to Search" Button on last page when i press "Submit" Button.....but before pressing submit...all button should be there on Summary(last) page except "Back to Search" Button....and when i press Submit Button then only page buttons get hide without any change in whole pageLayout.

Big trouble with multiple forms in a page and submit - commit buttons

Thank you for reading my post
I have created a menu system based on a sample 61 at

so , on each page i have a form that contains my menu system , when i add second form to this page by using drag and drop , its submit / clear button works but Commit button does not change to Enable and stay disabled.
I change the Disabled property of Commit button to true but it does not operate (does not store data into DB)
I tried my work on a page without those menu system and it works fine.
so i think there should be some tricks for pages that contain more than one form and has a Commit button.
can some one clearify ?

Can it be a problem with my whole application ?
I tried other applications with same condition and they workd :((
even i made a new page in my application and put only one form into it , the commit button is turned off for ever :((
is it possible that i touched some configuration and commit become permanently disable ?
it will be huge pain if i need to create the project skeleton again , it has more than 20 pages and all navigations and mune system is set :>
any clue ?
I should say that , Jdeveloper hanged once and i kill its process, can that be the source of problem ?

Ad-Muncher incompatible in Firefox 8, Submit Feedback buttons Not Working

Hi! I just updated to Firefox 8, and now Ad-muncher won't work. Firefox says it's an incompatible add-on. Since I paid for Ad-Muncher and have found it works beautifully, would it be possible for the Firefox team to fix this? I'm sure that all the Ad-Muncher users out there would be very grateful! :-)
By the way, the "Submit Feedback" button isn't working on the "Firefox made me sad...happy...new idea" page.

Submit all questions at the AT THE END OF THE TEST - NOT each question separately

I find some problem. I think captivate is very useful tool
and user friendly but i have one urgent problem: i would like in my
course all questions have 'back' and ' forward' (eventualy this may
be 'skip') button and the approve/resume/submit button was at the
end of the course and it would take affect to all questions (i mean
- then all questions would be submitted and student would not have
to submit each question separately). IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE IT IN
ANY WAY ???
I thought that i could remove submit button from question
slides and place it with the last question but i can't remove it
from slides.
Anyway i would be glad if somone would help me because i
cnannot find any solution of this problem in captivate's help.

I am not the world's greatest on Captivate, but my
understanding is that each question has to be submitted seperately
and I do not know of any way in which to submit all the answers at
once.

How do I remove the Submit Form button?

I am using Acrobat Pro 9 with LiveCycle. I have created an interactive form and did not include a button to e-mail the form. When the distributed form is opened, there is a purple bar across the top with instructions to click "Submit Form" and "Highlight Fields" and "Submit Form" buttons. I do not want this form e-mailed back to me. It just needs to be saved by the user and uploaded at a later time. Saving it after the user fills in the fields is not the issue. That is working fine. But the user may be confused by a button saying they should submit the form. Plus it is my e-mail address in the field and I don't want all these forms showing up in my e-mail box. This happens whether I choose to distribute it with "Automatically download..." or "Manually collect..."
Does anyone know what can be done to prevent the form from displaying the "Submit Form" button?
Also, one user did get get a warning when saving about that not being the optimal way to send the data. I believe it said to press submit form. I'm sorry, I was not relayed the exact warning, but it was something to that effect. It did, however, save correctly.

Pzaidel: YOU are a freakin genius. Great suggestion-worked perfectly! Here's how I did it with a form created in Indesign:
Do entire backgrnd layout in Indesign-convert to regular PDF.
Open New doc in LC-standard way-create all fields.
After completion when you open it in Adobe Acrobat, you will see the "Submit Form" at the top next to "Highlight existing fields".
Go back to your LiveCycle doc and:
Highlight and ctrl+c copy all fields onto clipboard. [I don't think there is an option to copy fields anywhere within LC]
Do as Pzaidel suggests above: create new LC form [you cannot avoid selecting interactive form....but didn't seem to matter].
Import your PDF layout from InDesign [or word].
THEN Paste all fields back into form.
TA DA! No submit button.
AND after importing and placing all fields, I even included a print button that works on the bottom of the form so anyone could see-it must be printed and cannot be submitted-at least by a button.

Distributed form missing "automatic" Submit Form button

I am going crazy and running out of time.
I created a form in Acrobat. I distributed the form using SharePoint. It worked great. For me and my test user. I sent the distributed file to my boss so she could try it and there was no Submit Form button. The purple forms bar was there; Highlight Fields was there; there was no Submit Form button. I tried it on another user's computer and no Submit Form was there. I tried it on our terminal server with a test user (set up like a standard user), and there was a Submit Form button. I tried it on a computer outside our network and no Submit Form button was there. I also had my boss try it in the terminal server (known working computer) and no Submit Form button was there.
I have looked around the net and found a JavaScript reference that hid a Submit Form button, but that is a different, ugly, email-only button meant for backwards-compatibility.
This is so effing frustrating. I can't find a single reason the Submit Form button will show up for some and not others.
I submitted it via e-mail. I open it within Terminal Services, logged in as me, and the Submit button wasn't there. I open it with my Test user (a standard user, not admin or anything) and the Submit button is there. I open it on my local machine and the Submit button is there. WTF IS GOING ON, ADOBE??? I am so frustrated right now.

On this machine I only have AA5. I was able to open the first form, but saw no submit button anywhere. The second form would not open. I might try it with AA7 a bit later (the only versions I have at home).
I was able to check the various radio buttons and type in the text boxes. The text boxes seem to wrap correctly.
I assume folks will be fine with the exceeds expectations being on the left. In many surveys, the best is on the right and not on the left. However, I am not sure there is any standard for that and you have been consistent. I was wondering how you were going to take care of the signatures. It looks like you are going to do them by hand - I guess the advantage is that all the signers would see the entire evaluation before signing. The alternative would be to introduce digital signatures in some sense, possibly using the Acrobat route.

How to remove "submit form" button that's generated when distributing form without Designer

When I open it in Designer to delete the image all of my java gets screwed up, so I'm hoping there is a solution that doesn't involve updating all of the code. I'm using PDF Expert 5 and Box because adobe's reader is absolute garbage.

If I open it in LC Designer I can remove the submit form button but it screws up all java and formatting. Save All button for dynamic form

I haven't used coldfusion for a while and I am a little stuck getting my head around a problem I have occured. I have taken a project over from one of my colleagues so the coding is not my own. See code below....

Now this works perfectly if I want to click on a submit button per row and save each row individually.... But what the user wants is the option to have a save all button which loops through each row and does the update code for all rows (rather than individually) depending on what is selected in the radio buttons.
Sorry if I haven't described my problem to well, its just I haven't used CF for a while now and trying my best to get back into it.

Where to submit proof? No submit proof button

I purchased Creative Cloud Student/Teacher edition yesterday. There is no "Submit proof" button or link anywhere on My Orders page. All products are working with no trial popup, even Typekit, but my order is still pending so could that be why? or should I be able to submit proof by now?
