Submit Bug?

Doesn't seem to be any easy place to just submit a bug report, so I thought I would just post it here thinking a moderator would submit it for me.  I found an unusual flaw while working with images in Illustrator.  Wondering if everyone else sees the same as I do.  If you follow these steps exactly, you should see what we see.
1) Create an image file (RGB, CMYK or Grayscale, doesn't matter), and save it (PSD or TIFF, doesn't matter).
2) Create a new CMYK or RGB document in Illustrator CS5.
3) On the default layer (normally called "Layer 1"), "Place" the image you created as a "Link".
4) Create a shape and apply it as a clipping mask to the linked image.
5) Create a new layer (by default it's called "Layer 2").
6) In a different location, "Place" the image you created as a "Link" again.
7) Make another shape and apply it as a clipping mask to the second linked image.
8) Save the file as an AI or Illustrator compatible PDF (doesn't matter).
9) Close the file and reopen it in Illustrator.  You'll notice that the artwork appears to be what you created.
10) This time, lock the bottom layer, which should be called "Layer 1".
11) Save the Illustrator file, and close it.
12) Reopen the file and look at your images now.  You'll notice in the "Links" window that there's more images than you originally placed, and at least one of the images is in the wrong location.  You will probably see three images when you had only placed two, and one of the images has a white preview in the "Links" window.
*This is the main flaw of the program.  It only happens when the same image is placed on two different layers and only when the bottom layer is locked.
**After step 12, if you unlock "Layer 1" and save/close the file, the next time you open it, the images appear normal again.  However, it still leaves an extra image in one of the clipping mask, which you can identify from the "Links" window.
***When saving the file as Illustrator PDF and this problem occurs, the document appears accurate when opened in Acrobat, even though it is not correct in Illustrator.
Give it a try and let me know if I'm crazy here!  Must fix this problem!!!!  Thanks all!

Hopefully you can see from these screenshots.
Here is the normal AI file with the links on two separate layers and the layers both unlocked.
This is what happens when we lock the bottom layer, save and close the file, and then reopen the file.
We are using MAC version, and it occurs on both of our MAC's, two different OS.  We do run Esko Plugins, so if you don't see the same thing we are, I will be submitting a support ticket with them next.  I really appreciate any other confirmations.  Thanks much!
I have this sample file, the image file, and a PDF of my screenshots in a ZIP file which can be downloaded HERE.  Just open the AI file, lock the bottom layer, save and close, then reopen the AI file.

  • How to submit bugs for FlexCPD?

    Hello,
Where should I submit bugs related to FlexCPD?
Should we use the FlexPMD project in JIRA and if so then which component?
The problem I have is that when FlexCPD detects similar snippets in MXML files it reports wrong lines. I have several such reports and all the reported pair of snippets have nothing in common that's why I guess the line numbers are wrongly calculated. For .as files it works ok.
    Thanks

There is a CPD component in the FlexPMD project. Please use this one.
    Thanks

  • Where to submit bugs?

Where's the right place to submit bugs for Server.app?  The feedback page I go to for most Apple stuff doesn't seem to recognize any server since 10.6...

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/server.html
Updating the server version list hasn't proven to be Apple's strongest side, but I guess it doesn't matter anyway. I don't select anything when submitting there.

  • Where can we submit bug reports?

I'm unable to submit a bug report re: Lightroom's export resizing, because following the trail at feedback.photoshop.com leads you to sign in with your Adobe ID before you can submit the report but when I sign in, the page just says photoshop.com accounts can no longer be created. So, that website failure aside, the text of bug report I was trying to submit:
Lightroom 5's export isn't resizing exactly to specified long edge. For example, when I restrict long edge to 1920, the exported files are 1919. Same with 1024, I get 1023px files instead. If I export from Adobe Bridge, then the long edges are calculated correctly. This problem didn't happen with LR4. Files being exported were DNG and TIF.

Thanks Rob. I tried with both FF and Chrome, and didn't have cookies blocked, still no joy on that front. I already have an Adobe ID (signed in at adobe.com and in creative cloud) but I'll try again at the photoshop.com forums in a few days.
Didn't think about the original dimensions thing.. perhaps that might be it:
If I create a 4000px wide tif in photoshop, import it to LR5, then export to 1920 it outputs a 1920px file. If the source file is a DNG (or TIF after editing in PS) from my D800 (7360 x 4912 uncropped), then LR5 on export outputs a 1919px file instead of 1920. I also created a new file in PS with 7360x4912 dimensions, and after importing that into LR5, I get the same off-by-1 export resizing.
Doesn't seem to matter if the image is cropped (within LR5), if the source file's original dimensions are 7360x4912 (at least on my Win7 PC), LR5 outputs 1919px. If I create a 7380x4912 image, then LR5 resizes to 1920px correctly.
For now I'll just have to go through the extra step of exporting from Bridge, but hopefully someone at Adobe's LR team sees this thread and is able to reproduce & fix this bug.

I'd like to submit a possible bug.
Bug: App Store doesn't close and the screen doesn't turn off after updating apps
I used App Store to update my apps remotely before bedtime.  This morning, all the apps have been updated, but my iPad's screen was still on, and the battery power was  50%, from being almost fully charged the night before.

You can do so here. Under Feedback Type, select Bug Report.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
Just a thought, you should probably plug your iPad into a power source if you going to rely on Apple's automatic updates, backups, syncing, etc. Actually you do have to plug into power if you auto backup with iCloud and sync with iTunes. In any event, it's just a good idea to plug into power if the iPad is "functioning" while you are away from the device.
Its one thing to just let the iPad sleep at night and not plug it in, but if you want to update, backup, etc, you should plug into power. Just my opinion ...
I recharge my iPad every single night and I fail to understand why others don't do the same.

  • Who supports the Z3v? How to submit bug reports?

I love my Z3v, but I've encountered some significant bugs with the firmware and the software. What is the best way to submit a bug report and/or feature request?
For that matter, who officially supports the phone?  I tried reporting a firmware bug to Verizon and they directed me to the manufacturer of the phone (Sony).  I then tried to get support through Sony and the support rep claimed that, because the Z3v is a Verizon-specific model, only Verizon could support me.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'd say Verizon as it is them who would have modified the firmware and then given that to Sony for release - When it comes to network specific models and firmware then they are your 1st port of contact - but this is just my opinion based on what happens here in the UK however some features are generic in all models like the Walkman and Album apps etc

  • Why can't we submit bug reports for Flash Pro?

I've been looking to submit some bug reports regarding CS5.5 Pro and there just isn't an option in the "Report a Bug/Feature Request" form. WHY not?? I paid for CS5.5 and autoformat breaks my code, but there's no way to report it.

You aren't the first to have a problem with the choices provided.  It would be nice if they listed "Flash Pro" uniquely in the list of options at...
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
... since they dio for the rest of the Adobe products.  But you should feel free to pick any one of them.  I'd choose "Flash Authoring" since I've no idea what it is other than maybe something to do with Flash Pro.

  • Be able to submit bug reports via LittleBigPlanet 2.

We all know that there's so many bugs and glitches out there in LittleBigPlanet 2, so how about an option to submit a bug report directly from the game? Who's with me?

Try it with bugreport.apple.com. Need to be a registered ADC Member, but that frees. Be sure to pick a bug that is reproducible with a simple step by step recipe on the most current software.
So what is this bug you have been talking about?

The RSS feeds are almost useful. They actually include the author and create date information, but do so in a format that neither safari or any other garden variety RSS reader handles.
Jive's own documentation on the subject [Jive Community: Content Syndication via RSS|http://www.jivesoftware.com/community/docs/DOC-1022] recommends reformatting the output to suit the needs of your audience in the section titled "*Displaying RSS (or, actually doing something with this stuff)*".
It seems the jf: prefixed tags aren't meant to be pushed out to the RSS clients. I certainly haven't found a RSS reader that deals with them correctly or lets you workaround them. So although the feeds have a creation date, modification date, author, and reply count, none of that information can be seen in a garden variety RSS reader. This is particularly a problem for the create date, since the create date of each article is replaced with the pub date of the feed. The pub date of the feed is the time when you pull it down, and that changes each time the feed is refreshed.
Anyway ... it seems to me that it would be a small and correct change that would take the existing RSS offerings that last inch into the realm of useful. Maybe I'll be surprised.

  • Is there a place to submit bug reports for iTunes 11?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any communities, or ways in which we can submit errors, or bug reports for the new version of iTunes, version 11.0? The 2 issues so far that I am seeing, is:
    1. My account information: iTunes shows I have hidden purchases, when on all my iDevices, I have 0. (In fact, before the update, I un-hid all previously hidden purchases, and it showed correctly).
    2. When syncing a device, on the last tab for items on device, on my iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.1, it shows I have 2 songs downloaded from my collection, when I know I have 0. (Verified by checking Settings>General>About>Songs = 0

However, as of this writing iTunes 11 isn't listed in the 'Version list, so make sure that you state the version in your description.

  • Where to submit bug reports?

    Hello,
I submitted a service request through https://sine.ni.com/srm/app/newrequest (Service Type = "Reporting a bug")
Then, I got an automated email saying "Thank you for contacting National Instruments. We are no longer accepting direct e-mails to [email protected]@ni.com.  To provide you a higher level of service we ask that you resubmit your support issue through www.ni.com/support.  The new support page will search for possible solutions for you, as well as allow you to direct your support request through the desired communication path."
So I click on the link to http://www.ni.com/support/. On the right, I saw "Contact an Engineer", which sounds like what I want. So I click on it, and it takes me... back to https://sine.ni.com/srm/app/newrequest
    What now?

  • Right place to submit bug reports for the discussions forums?

I know you can post suggestions here regarding how the Discussions system may be improved, but I'd just like to record a bug somewhere and then be informed if and when it is ever fixed. I'm thinking of something like the bugreporter web app that apple makes available. Anyone know about anything like that?

  • How submit bug reports?

I have a query which runs under Oracle 9i and disappears into the void under Oracle 10g (Windows OS). I suppose I can't call it a bug because I don't know if Oracle 10g simply supports a different SQL or the optimizer is very different.
I can supply the data and query to demonstrate it (it's a 306K zip file).
Is there any interest by Oracle in such examples?

In the past, when have encountered a problem, or mysterious unexplained behaviour, I have raised a call on Metalink. The analysts there may or may not decide it is a bug.
I do not know how to report a bug directly.
You could try going through the 'whats new' in 10g manual to see if any of that applies to your SQL.
If you have changed database, it is possible that your statistics are out of date, and that the optimizer is not able to make good explain plans. Oh, if I recall correctly, the Rule based optimiser is officially not supported in 10g - that could be it.
I hope my ramblings are of some use.

  • Bug report: ube_ipa: internal error when compiling with -xO5

When compiling imlib2-1.1.2, one source file causes compilation to fail with the following error message:
    ube_ipa: internal error
    cc: ube_ipa failed for loader_tiff.c
The command which fails is (probably wrapped):
    cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I. -I.. -I../src -I../loaders -I../libltdl -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/openwin/include -I/opt/csw/include -I/opt/csw/include -I/opt/csw/include -g -fast -xarch=386 -xstrconst -v -xildoff -xO5 -c loader_tiff.c -KPIC -DPIC -o .libs/loader_tiff.o
Changing -xO5 to -xO4 works around the problem. The source file in question is imlib2-1.1.2/loaders/loader_tiff.c
Patch 112756-10 has been applied, and doesn't correct the problem. GCC doesn't have any problem compiling the file.
A quick note to any Sun employees reading this: it took me 45 minutes to find somewhere to submit this bug report. Searching sun.com for "submit bug report" turned up many forum postings where people asked "Where do I submit bug reports?", a bug report form for Sun One Java Studio, and not much else. It might be in your interest to make submitting bugs easier.

Internal errors, such as the one you encountered, are generally considered compiler bugs. They indicate that the compiler reached an unexpected state and therefore bailed out. I opened bug 20703141: internal error: pic_relocs(): hh reltype? to investigate. I see the same error message emitted by the current Studio development release; I will update this thread if I find a work-around.

  • IPhone 5 two bugs in photo app.

Sorry, don't know where to submit bug reports... hope this place is okay.
Bug #1 - photos are not properly fit to screen.  To see this, take a screenshot of the home screen, or, say, of your favorite video game on the iPhone 5.  Now, look at that photo in the photo app, and double-tap it as needed to "fit" that photo to the screen.  You'll notice black space at the bottom of the photo, and the top part of the photo is off-screen.  So, if you took a screenshot of the home screen, the "menu bar" (or whatever it's called) will be off-screen.
Bug #2 - the "cancel" button that comes up in the delete menu doesn't work.  Try to delete a photo, then hit the cancel button.  You'll see the button is only barely functional - only the top sliver of the cancel button seems to accept input.

#1 was in reference to screenshots, not camera photos.  Screenshots should obviously be the same aspect ratio as the screen.  In any event, fitting a photo to screen (even if it has a different aspect ratio) should not cause part of the photo to go off-screen.  I'm not talking about "letterboxing" here... the black space in question is ONLY on the bottom of the photo, not the top - the top part instead goes off-screen.  That is definitely a bug, and I have verfied that I don't get that bug in on my old iPhone4 (updated to iOS6.)  I don't have a 4S so I can't test it on that.
I have also verfied that bug #2 does not happen on my iPhone4.

  • E1000g driver broken on solaris 10 u6; how to report this bug correctly?

Question also posted in OpenSolaris forums:
While upgrading a T2000 server to solaris 10 update 6 I found that my jumbo
    interfaces report errors on reboot.
One frequent cause was that the update replaced /kernel/drv/e1000g.conf file
(I changed the MaxFrameSize line to enable jumbo frames). This in-persistency
of the file is annoying but well-known (bonus question: can I make changes to
    this file persistent?)
However, the system still refused to set MTU = 9000 on the interfaces, and by
default it assigns an MTU=8978 (instead of 16384 or 10244 as expected from
other systems; we only need 9000 though). Googling showed that a few people
    have also discussed this regression.
Copying in the driver file (/kernel/drv/sparcv9/e1000g) from Solaris 10 u4
worked (network goes up, needed MTU is assigned). This doesn't seem like a
suported and "enterprise" solution, so I want this bug to be known and fixed by
    Sun in the main tree.
I haven't found any numbered bug report on this matter. How can I submit a bug
for this regression in Solaris 10 (I couldn't reproduce the problem in OpenSolaris)?
Can someone with access and skill please post the bug for us? :)
    e1000g driver module versions involved:
    sol10u4 (working): Intel PRO/1000 Ethernet 5.1.11
sol10u6 (bad MTU limit): Intel PRO/1000 Ethernet 5.2.8
    //Jim Klimov

Hello again, Mr. Cohen, and thank you for your corrections to my style.
No offense taken, since it makes sense when you put it this way,
and the point is taken - I'll try to be that specific next time. Thanks.
Returning to the problem at hand, however with the abundance of
Sun's tools to submit bugs (including those you pointed out above),
I believed I might not know of some one more bugtracker.
I also thought that "support cases" did differ from "bugs" which arise,
taking my example, when Sun (or Intel?) took a working e1000g driver
and "fixed" so it's no longer working - and then Sun releases it into
the commercial version of the OS this way through all the presumed
Q&A. And wants commercial users to pay for fixing it back. That's
the part of the logic I found flawed somehow ;)
So yes, you can say that I'm "cheap" to pay for Sun fixing something
    they broke themselves.
I originally posted this report on OpenSolaris forum in hope someone
would point out my misconfiguration or confirm that the problem exists
    for others.
That forum (and/or the bugtracker search for keyword e1000g) also have
a number of posts complaining about the vast number of ways this one
e1000g driver was broken lately in 90s-100s OpenSolaris builds. Some
posters even went as far as to suggest that someone reviews all works
of the engineers and managers who are responsible for these recent
flawed putpacks, or even provide some disciplinary action.
I wouldn't go that far, but I was still saddened to find some other bug
    leak into the kinda-stable Solaris.
