Submit button in form central.

can i choose not to use the form central submit button. I have added a submit button in adobe before i have uploaded it so the completed form goes directly to a person not onto the form central site. I just need the completed pdf form to come directly to me.

The procedure for enabling a document in Acrobat depends on which version of Acrobat you have:
Acrobat 9: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features
Acrobat 11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in & save)
Do not use the "Distribute Form" process, which also enables the form but adds other things so it can be used with Tracker and perhpas submit to Acrobat.com.
The submit button should be configured to submit the entire PDF using a mailto type URL and the users should use Adobe Reader since other PDF viewers may not support this method of submitting. When the button is clicked, it should initiate an email with the filled-in PDF attached. With FormsCentral, you get the form data and not the complete PDF.

• Not getting submissions imported to forms central?

I am only getting the submitted applications via our provided e-mail address instead of them being automatically sent to forms central as data collection. I've had students tell me the "submit" button isn't working, so they just save the application and e-mail the file to me. What did I do wrong?

Is this a PDF form or a web form? If PDF, then you need to be aware that it won't work with certain PDF viewers, such as the Preview application on a Mac. It will work with the desktop versions of Adobe Reader and Reader for iOS and Android. It will work with some non-Adobe PDF viewers, but many have limited or no support for forms or JavaScript. Chrome and noew Firefox have built-in PDF viewers that don't support form submissions.

the button....does anyone know how i can include a hyperlink for the submit button which will send the info to the new url??

You can have a Submit button with the Submit URL and the remove the back ground fill to look like a hyperlink on the form.

• Hide submit button in form

Hi all,
I have an interactive form with a submit button that i displayed online thru webdynpro for the user to key in data. And when user clicked on the submit button, i will validate the data in the webdynpro action handler, and will send out a copy of the same form as an attachment in email.
But when sending this form in email, i do not want the email recipient to see the submit button when they open up the form to view. And the form should be in display mode as well.
So 2 questions:
1. how do i go about hiding the submit button and setting the form in display mode?
2. For setting the form in display mode... i currently uses cl_wd_adobe_services create_pdf method to generate the xstring for email, so i can set the enable = ' '. Any other way to do this if i going to use the xstring from pdfsource of the interactive form UI element?

Hi,
For Hiding the UI elements in Interactive form try using Scripts (FormCalc).
The script for hiding the Submit Button is:
<path of the UI element in the Subform>.presence = "visible" / "hidden"
The Script for making a field editable / read-only is:
<path of the UI element in the Subform>.access = "readOnly" (Not Sure about the casing

• Can't add submit button to form

i am trying to add a submit button to my form but Acrobat does not recognize it.
My goal is to post a PDF form on our website and when a user fills it out and clicks the submit button, it automatically gets emailed to us. Is Acrobat 8 Pro able to do this?
Thanks

> when I choose to submit the data to the website, where do I enter the username and password to allow the data to be saved here?
I think you misunderstand what "submit" means. This is a very common
misunderstanding, but it is quite wrong. "Submit" does not mean "save
a copy" by connecting and storing a file, with or without a password.
When a PDF form is submitted, or when an HTML form is submitted, a
connection is made to the server. On the server, a script (program) is
run. This may be a CGI/PHP/ASP written by an experienced web
programmer. The script has a URL.
When the script runs, information about the form fields is sent, and
the script can connect to a database, send an e-mail, or do whatever
else you need (and the programmer is capable of).

• Customizing the text of next,back, and submit buttons in form guides

Hi,
We are preparing some forms in Turkish language. So, we need to change the text of next, back and submit buttons in the form guides. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks for your help.

This can be done via Flex Builder. There is a good Next panel button example in this guide:http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/es/fggettingstarted.pdf. I believe you can also control the text via the style sheet applied to the guide.

<mx:Button click="{panels.selectedIndex++}"
enabled="{panels.selectedIndex < panels.length-1}"
xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">

<mx:Script>

import ga.views.PanelListView;
private var panels:PanelListView = PanelListView.instance;

</mx:Script>

• Submit button in form will not send info to email

I had a friend build a website in Dreamweaver CS5.5. Now that it is live, I can't get the "send" button on the form to send the information to my email.There is a sendmail.php set up. Any help would be much appreciated...Thank you.
The page is http://www.shieldscontracting.com/contact.html
The html is

Name:

E-mail:

Send

The sendmail.php is
<?php
$name = $_REQUEST['name'];
$email = $_REQUEST['email'];
$phone = $_REQUEST['phone'];
$message = $_REQUEST['message'];
mail( "[email protected]", "Website Contact",
"Contact From Website
Name: $name
Email: $email
Phone: $phone
Message: $message", "From: $email" );
header( "Location: thankyou.html" );
?>

First, the page is down, I just get a generic page. Second you may need to reach out to your web host. I see that you are using hosting from Intuit. Being that they have a proprietary setup, some custom scripts may not work.
Third, once that is confirmed, if you are making this script I would recommend changing the $_REQUEST text in the sendmail to $_POST. $_REQUEST means that your form can get spammed because they can pass the data via GET or POST. The $_POST is just the first step to ensure the data came from your form.

• Can a submit button send forms directly to an email address?

Hi, I'm just trying to design a form for an online business and am wondering whether I can have all forms sent directly to an email address to notify me of an order. I have Acrobat 9 Extended and Windows 7. Cheers

Yes, when you set up the Submit Form action, specify a mailto type URL. Make sure mailto is lower case and there are no spaces, something like: mailto:[email protected]
If you want Reader users to be able to send the entire PDF, it must be Reader-enabled: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader

• Problem with Submit Button in Adobe Forms Central

I have a PDF form that I uploaded to Adobe Forms Central. I created the fillable fields & the submit button in Forms Central. I have several documents like this. All have worked in the past. Today on my latest file, the submit button doesn't always work. I am getting some submissions, but some people have reported to me that the submit button does not work. I tested it myself to see. I had to create a Digital ID for myself, which seemed to work fine. But when I click on submit, the form says "Submission Failed. This form can no longer be submitted. Please contact the author." I'm the author & don't know what the problem is. Anyone know what the problem could be?

The form is open. I should have mentioned that I made sure to check that first. The form was created by uploading an existing PDF file that I created from a MS Word file to Adobe FormsCentral. Once the form was completed, I had a coworker test it & it worked. We sent the form out & I have received some back, but have also received reports of the form not working. I downloaded the form to my computer & tested it using Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard. I use a Windows environment on a Dell laptop. The form does not work for me.

I created a pdf form and then imported it to Forms Central for distribute. It is now loaded to my website and setup so a person clicks on the link to open the form. At this point they then have to go to upper right to open form using a different view. I would like the form to open directly in Adobe Reader form to make it easier to enter information. Thanks, Ike

If you created it in Forms Central, you have to edit it there. I believe Forms Central is similar to LiveCycle Designer in that the form created is no longer able to be edited in Acrobat. I might be wrong, but that is my understanding. You add the submit button in Forms Central. Within Acrobat, you should be able to go to the forms menu and Manage Data to save the data to an Excel file. Others better with forms should be by to clarify things, but this should get you started. In the future you might find it better to post a forms question in the forms discussions.

• Hiding submit button from an Infopath form in a Sharepoint Library document

I have a Sharepoint document library that is setup to collect submissions from a form that faces the public. Because it faces the public it needs to have the standard/familiar submit button. The problem is that when the form is submitted to the
document library and the document is reviewed, it still contains the button - which will be confusing/complained about by staff.
I attempted to use a hidden boolean field that would switch to "True" when the submit button is clicked and then use conditional formatting to hide the button before submitting through the data connection. But apparently, there is no way
to move the conditional formatting rules after the action rules that make the boolean swith.
I then tried to switch to a new view that was identical to my Main view before submitting but the button is still appearing on the submitted documents in the form library.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this? I have to think I'm missing something obvious.

• Email Submit Button doesn't use default email software

When I click the Email Submit button, the form does not use my default email program (Eudora). Instead it uses an old hotmail account which I don't even use anymore.
All other web pages bring up Eudora when I click on a mail link.
Only Live Cycle documents do not.
I have the latest version of LiveCycle.
Is there a fix for this?

When you click the submit button, do you get a window that has the title "Select Email Client"and has the options of "Desktop Email Application" and "Internet Email"? If not, does anything at all happen?
Note that Mac users must have Acrobat or Reader installed and be viewing the PDF in Acrobat or Reader for it to work. Many (most?) Mac users have the Preview Application as their default PDF viewer, and it does not support many interactive features such as form submissions. Although some third-party PDF viewers for Windows support form submissions, many do not.
For those that do not use PDF viewers that support form submissions, they will have to manually attach the document to an email message.
