Submit Button Look and Location

Right now in FormsCentral, we can only put the Submit button in four places (top, bottom, left, right)
Is there a way to move it to a different position...like...in the middle of a page?
Is there a way to configure the color or size or text of the FC Submit button?
Is there a way to copy the code from the Submit button and then apply it to a button of my own design?
Thanks

Hi,
I would like to inform you that it is not possible to move the submit button. However, you can change the label (text) of the submit button.
Also, you may try to copy the code and apply it to your own design. Let me know if you face any challenge, although I have not tested this on my end; I will try to investigate the issue further.

Nakul

  • Help with submit button, signatures and locking fields

    https://acrobat.com/#d=sCcToPsLqquP0uePmVL1pQhttp://https://acrobat.com/#d=ZsRL5CeME*4iV3VHnvUFXw
    Well here's a doozy for ya. I have no idea what I'm doing as you will be able to see when you look at my form.
    What I want to happen is to have the user fill out the form, choose the operations manager and select submit button associated with the drop down box. All other dropdown boxes and submit buttons should be hidden. I need the form to lock so there are no edits except the signature field, the next dropdown box and submit button. I'd like to customize the email with a specific subject line and specify the email address based on the person selected from the drop down box. I'd like this to repeat itself until there are no more signature fields left. It is very important that this document follow the order specified.
    I tried to use an example Niall put out there to use regular buttons as submit buttons with script. I changed a couple things and it worked to submit the form based on the person selected but I still do not know how to lock the fields. Long story short, I broke what did work and don't know how to do what I really want to do or fix what had once worked. I don't understand javascript so please, if you're willing to help teach me, be patient and spell it out like i'm speaking a foreign language.
    Oh boy, even I don't want to do this. What a mess!

    I believe that you should re-post this in either the Forms or the Designer forum.  You are more likely to get the right folks to look at it there.
    Generally this forum is for building custom Document Service Component (DSC) plugins that extend the LiveCycle ES server side product.

  • Push Button look and feel

    Hi,
    I am using forms 10g
    I have a requirement to make the look and feel of the push button like a hyperlink.
    Basically the button background should merge with the canvas background and text should appear on the canvas.
    I have to use push buttons only as i have a require setting mouse navigate property for the buttons to function correctly.
    I tried using image instead of buttons but image does not have mouse navigate property.
    kindly reply as this is becoming a show stopper fr the proposed look and feel in the current project.
    Edited by: user3067156 on May 4, 2010 6:01 AM

    One use case for setting mouse navigate property to yes is mentioned in this link
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_as_10g/bi/forms/formsmasterdetailobe.htm
    When Mouse Navigate is No, Form Builder does not perform navigation to the item when the end user activates it with the mouse. For example, a mouse click in a button or check box is not treated as a navigational event.
    Form Builder fires any triggers defined for the button or check box (such as When-Button-Pressed), but the input focus remains in the current item.
    When Mouse Navigate is Yes, Form Builder navigates to the item, firing any appropriate navigation and validation triggers on the way.
    if the button performs query or cancel mouse navigate is set to No
    if the button performs first ,next, commit record mouse navigate is set to Yes.

  • SUBMIT button and VALUE clause

    I have a jsp screen like below.It shows in a tabular form all the employee data.
    EMPLOYEE DETAILS
    EmpId_______ProcessEmpSalary_____ProcessEmpLeave
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    8
    NEXT______PREV____LAST____FIRST
    Under ProcessEmpSalary ,ProcessEmpLeave of each employee I have a submit button and clicking on it the particular employee id has to be processed (for salary or leave).Now I want the employee id to be passed when the submit button of that particular employee is pressed.
    So what I am doing is I put the emp id in the value clause and achieve my purpose.But this results in the display of the emp id over each submit button.It looks ugly and so
    I dont want to use the VALUE clause of the SUBMIT button.........
    So friends please tell me how to achieve it.Someone suggested me to use IMAGE but it doesn't work.Some suggested I use hidden varaible ,but I just don;t understand how is that possible.Some suggested me use javascript to pass the value and throw the form...this make sense but problem is I don't have time to learn javascript now.So please help with some code example how to achieve this result.

    Here is my jsp as it is .Employee id was used for example.In my application it is Submission_Id
    which is used as the key.

  • How to apply style to submit button

    Hi All,
    I am developing an application in struts where I have multiple buttons on a single form. Each button corresponds to different action to be executed, and to achieve this I have used DispatchAction.
    Since I need to submit the data, I am looking for some ways through which I can put some style on submit button, such as putting an image over the submit button,giving it some border, some color and so on. I want to do this through CSS or if not possible through CSS then as inline style.
    I am using struts-html.tld tag library to render all the HTML controls.
    Any idea how to put images over submit buttons, or if putting an image is not possible then how to have style for it so that the look of submit button changes and the user feels as if it is a graphic button.
    Any help is appriciated.
    Thanks.

    You do realise there is an <html:image> tag which
    generates the html graphical submit button (ie <input
    type="image">) ?
    There are two tags in struts:
    <html:img> - generates an image tag: <img src="...">
    <html:image> - generates a graphical submit buttonYea, I do know this. But the problem is I don't have one submit button in my page. There are mroe than one buttons and each button calls a different method of the Action class. I could not get a way to pass the parameter name and parameter value using
    <html:image> tag.
    To be more clear, I need CRUD operations in one page and they all refer to one Action class. If I use html:image tag, I can't call seperate functions as it will then call the execute method. Also I don't want to have any javascript to call the relevant method from the Action class.
    Is there any way out? I am not a pro in struts, just s beginner, so any help is more than appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Can the submit button be deleted

    For the convenience of our learners, my manager would like me
    to delete the submit button from the multiple choice questions we
    are using in our movie. He would Captivate to provide feedback
    immediately after the learner clicks his/her answer in the radio
    button. Is this possible?
    Note that I have tried making the submit button transparent
    and placing it behind the radio buttons for all answer options.
    When this is done and an attempt is made to click a radio button,
    the radio buttons are unavailable and a failure message appears.
    Apparently, the submit button is over the radio buttons or at least
    not transparent so that they can be affected.
    JazzAl

    Rick:
    One more thought about eliminating the Submit button on
    multiple-choice questions.
    I now know that:
    1. I cannot delete the Submit button from a
    Captivate-generated multiple-choice question
    2. The function that the Submit button performs must be
    retained in multiple-choice questions to enable the scoring
    function, which I want to retain.
    3. Although I can make the Submit button transparent and put
    it in the same location as the answer options' radio buttons to try
    to make the learner's one click (that selects the answer option)
    activate both the radio button and the Submit button, the result of
    the click will be only clicking the Submit button. The radio button
    does not get marked as being selected.
    I would like to do some further work on trying to allow the
    learner to select his/her answer and click the Submit button on one
    click.
    On the theory that the radio button and the Submit button
    cannot be selected in one click because the is because the Submit
    button is in front of the radio button, I wonder if it might be
    worth it to try to go into the files that support the building of
    multiple-choice questions and attempt to change the layering order
    so that the radio buttons are in front of the Submit button? Do you
    think can be done? Do you think it might work? Thanks for any
    insights you might have on this idea.

    Okay, I have a few quiz questions. If I have not shortcut on the submit button, it works just fine. If I put "Enter" on the submit button, I cannot click it. Yes, Allow Mouse Clicks is checked.

    Running cp8 on win 8.1. Tried in preview mode, as well as published in IE and Chrome.
    Feels like I'm losing my mind! I have also tried with accessibility enabled and not. Not that it should make a difference, but I tried it.
    Thanks for any insight gang,
    Lori

    Looks like I have fallen victim to the transparent button again.  When I switch the quiz buttons to text or image, the shortcuts on them work just fine. Then they are transparent I have issues.  The nice thing about transparent is that you can color them. Because you can't use smartshapes as actual quiz buttons (submit, etc) at least not that I'm aware of, I have had to place a smart shape on the masterslide and overlay a text button with "make transparent" selected on top to make my buttons look AND behave correctly. Adobe is now aware of the issue.

  • Issues with Adobe Reader XI -- lost "submit" button option

    When I updated to Adobe Reader XI, the "submit" button that was located in the fillable form (in the purple bar) disappeared. When I downgraded to Adobe Reader X, the "Submit" button reappeared. Why is the option no longer available in XI?

    Some things to try...
    update to 11.0.5
    Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
    Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
    If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
    It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Connecting three frames to one submit button

    Hi,
    I have three frames (jsps) that hold one LOGICAL forms data. I would like to submit all three frames together with one submit button, which is located in the third frame(bottom one). Any ideas on how to link all the three frames to one submit button.
    thanks in advance,
    Rahul

    Thanks all , but I have been able to figure out how to solve the problem. This problem was easily solved using the Document Object Model. Essentially the Frameset contains the three frames which in turn contain forms. Following is the code that handles the submission:
    <form name="bottom" onSubmit="top.middle.document.middleform.submit();" method="POST" action="postit.jsp">
    where top refers to the frameset, middle is the middle frame and middleform is the name of the form in the middle frame. This code exists in the form in the frame at the very bottom. So when the user clicks submit in the form in the bottom frame, the form in the middle frame gets submitted as well.

  • Clicking twice on a Form submit button

    I have problem that I need either help on solving or ideas on a different solution please.
    I have some code in a request scope backing bean that sets a Boolean in a session cope bean to true. This indicates that the form has been submitted within this session.
    So if a user tries to submit the same form in the same session, the form backing bean will check the session bean property, see that it is set to true and the method which handles the Forms commandButton in the backing bean returns null, with a message saying that the form can not be resubmitted.
    Also within the session bean I set a property that indicates if a credit card payment was made or not, and when the form backing bean sends its message on a form resubmit, it also informs the user if a credit card transaction had actually occurred or not.
    This works fine when you fully submit the form and return to the form page and try to resubmit it. But (there always is a but) when originally submitting the form, if a user clicks the submit button once, and then once again in quick succession (not a double click though) the session form property that gets set to true when the credit card payment is made does not get resolved correctly. It gets resolved as false (this is how it is initialized), even though it was set to true as a result of the first click.
    Only in the case of the clicking twice scenario I get an exception in the log file, which I cant trace back. The request is directed through a filter OrderAccessControlFilter which seems to mask where the exception originally occurred.
    Sorry for the long explanation, I would appreciate any help.

    Hi,
    I am also facing the same problem. I have 2 buttons on my page, enable and disable. When I click enable and then disable in quick succession, the application crashes.
    Also, I put in some System out statemets in the button handlers and found out that a new thread is spawned for every request made. Each if this thread tries to service all the actions performed on the page.
    For eg : if i click on Enable and the Disable in my application, the flow is like:
    1. Thread 1 goes into the enable handler
    2. A new Thread 2 goes into the enable handler
    3. Thread 1 returns from enable action
    4. Thread 1 goes into the disable handler
    5. Thread 2 returns from enable handler
    6. Thread 1 returns from disable handler.
    7. Application crashes.
    Can anyone please explain this flow?
    Thanks,
    Mahajan.

  • Submit button issue in Acrobat 8 Professional/LifeCycle Designer

    I am using Acrobat 8 Professional and LifeCycle Designer 8.0 on a PC with XP Pro. I first made forms using the default email submit button and had an XML data file submitted.
    I'm now making the forms to submit as a pdf file rather than an XML file. I selected a regular button rather than the email submit button provided and made it a submit button to be submitted as a pdf.
    The forms are being sent as pdf files attached to emails using Outlook. The issue is that every computer has a different "reaction" to this submit button. My computer (PC), when I tested the forms,everything was fine - Outlook opened and I was able to submit the file. On another PC in my office, when she clicked the submit button, nothing happened at all. On a PC at home, I got an error message "this operation is not permitted." And someone on a Macintosh did not even get a submit button showing up on the pdf.
    We need to be able to send these files out so that everyone can complete them easily. I would appreciate any ideas on how to make the submit button so that it works on all platforms and computers.
    Thank you so much,
    Marcy

    Thank you to you both for your suggestions.
    Actually, Bill, this will not be a controlled environment at all. We want to be able to email forms to all of the 80 parents in the school, and have the parents complete them as pdf's and submit the information back to us as a complete pdf form. This opens up the potential for 80 different computers/ISPs/environments. And of course, my supervisor wants it seamless and easy with no glitches for all 80!! So as you can see, I have my challenge with this project.

    It might work on your machine as you designed in & using Adobe Acrobat. In order to make it work with rest of the world (Adobe Reader) you may have to assign certain rights using Reader Extensions server. Also heard Adobe Acrobat is preloaded with limited capacity to enable such rights even if you do not have "Reader Extensions".

  • How to disable a submit button on click using javascript

    Hi,
    We have built custom pages for mobile device (PDT) using OAF.
    The application is running on mobile IE 6.12 browser. In mobile platform, the cursor style is not changing to hour glass upon clicking.
    Due to this, user is able to click the same button multiple times before the operation is complete and it is getting submitted multiple time. But the same is working fine in Desktop browsers.
    We have tried with ((OABodyBean)body).setBlockOnEverySubmit(true); But the API documentation states that
    "Sets If set to true, user input will be blocked after EVERY submit (not just PPR submits). This attribute is not supported on the following agent types: pda, phone, voice."
    Hence, I am trying with javascript to disable the submit button after the first click. The issue is, even in the desktop browser
    I am not able to get the button disabled after first click. Please help me.
    I have tried the following statments in PR. But none of them seems to be working.
    //Try 1: directly using id
    OASubmitButtonBean updBtn = ((OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("UpdateBN"));
    updBtn.setOnClick("document.getElementById('UpdateBN').disabled=true;document.getElementById('UpdateBN').submit()");
    //Try 2:
    OASubmitButtonBean updBtn = ((OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("UpdateBN"));
    updBtn.setOnClick("javascript:this.disabled=true;this.form.submit();");
    //Try 3:
    OASubmitButtonBean updBtn = ((OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("UpdateBN"));
    updBtn.setOnClick("this.disabled=true;this.form.submit();");
    //Try 4: using a function
    static final String JS_MULTI_CLICK = "<Script LANGUAGE=\"JavaScript\"> "
    +" function DisabSub(btn)"
    + "{"
    + "btn.disabled = true;"
    + "}"
    +" </Script>" ;
    OARawTextBean rawMultiClick = (OARawTextBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("JSMultiClick");
    rawMultiClick.setText(JS_MULTI_CLICK);
    OASubmitButtonBean updBtn = ((OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("UpdateBN"));
    updBtn.setOnClick("javascript: var obj =disable(this);return DisabSub(obj);");
    Can any one please help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Saravanan

    Hi,
    Create two submit buttons A and B adjacent to each other.
    On page Load ,make A as rendered false and disabled true and B as rendered true. using SPEL.
    now on click of button B make button A as rendered true and Button B as rendered false through SPEL.
    In this way on button click the button will become disabled without the use of any javascript.
    Try it if it helps you...
    Thanks,
    Gaurav
