"Submit "buttons on forms in various websites do not render in 18.0.1 but render in other browsers.

After 18.0.1 was released forms in our inhouse applications and some external websites "submit" button does not render.
- Buttons render correctly in current versions of other browsers IE,Chrome, Opera.
- Latest release of Java installed.

• Can't add submit button to form

i am trying to add a submit button to my form but Acrobat does not recognize it.
My goal is to post a PDF form on our website and when a user fills it out and clicks the submit button, it automatically gets emailed to us. Is Acrobat 8 Pro able to do this?
Thanks

> when I choose to submit the data to the website, where do I enter the username and password to allow the data to be saved here?
I think you misunderstand what "submit" means. This is a very common
misunderstanding, but it is quite wrong. "Submit" does not mean "save
a copy" by connecting and storing a file, with or without a password.
When a PDF form is submitted, or when an HTML form is submitted, a
connection is made to the server. On the server, a script (program) is
run. This may be a CGI/PHP/ASP written by an experienced web
programmer. The script has a URL.
When the script runs, information about the form fields is sent, and
the script can connect to a database, send an e-mail, or do whatever
else you need (and the programmer is capable of).

I created a form and at the end it has the submit button...when i go to insert a hyperlink it won't let me copy paste a url and doesn't recognize
the button....does anyone know how i can include a hyperlink for the submit button which will send the info to the new url??
Thanks!

You can have a Submit button with the Submit URL and the remove the back ground fill to look like a hyperlink on the form.

• Email submit button in forms central doc

hello needing to know in forms central how to insert an email submission button to our transportation dept. the form is created but struggling with the mail submission button to their dept., thanks

The procedure for enabling a document in Acrobat depends on which version of Acrobat you have:
Acrobat 9: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features
Acrobat 11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in & save)
Do not use the "Distribute Form" process, which also enables the form but adds other things so it can be used with Tracker and perhpas submit to Acrobat.com.
The submit button should be configured to submit the entire PDF using a mailto type URL and the users should use Adobe Reader since other PDF viewers may not support this method of submitting. When the button is clicked, it should initiate an email with the filled-in PDF attached. With FormsCentral, you get the form data and not the complete PDF.

• Hide submit button in form

Hi all,
I have an interactive form with a submit button that i displayed online thru webdynpro for the user to key in data. And when user clicked on the submit button, i will validate the data in the webdynpro action handler, and will send out a copy of the same form as an attachment in email.
But when sending this form in email, i do not want the email recipient to see the submit button when they open up the form to view. And the form should be in display mode as well.
So 2 questions:
1. how do i go about hiding the submit button and setting the form in display mode?
2. For setting the form in display mode... i currently uses cl_wd_adobe_services create_pdf method to generate the xstring for email, so i can set the enable = ' '. Any other way to do this if i going to use the xstring from pdfsource of the interactive form UI element?

Hi,
For Hiding the UI elements in Interactive form try using Scripts (FormCalc).
The script for hiding the Submit Button is:
<path of the UI element in the Subform>.presence = "visible" / "hidden"
The Script for making a field editable / read-only is:
<path of the UI element in the Subform>.access = "readOnly" (Not Sure about the casing

• Customizing the text of next,back, and submit buttons in form guides

Hi,
We are preparing some forms in Turkish language. So, we need to change the text of next, back and submit buttons in the form guides. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks for your help.

This can be done via Flex Builder. There is a good Next panel button example in this guide:http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/es/fggettingstarted.pdf. I believe you can also control the text via the style sheet applied to the guide.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!-- Specifies that the button should only be enabled if the current panel is
not the last panel, and if a user clicks the button the form guide retrieves
the next panel in the hierarchy. -->
<mx:Button click="{panels.selectedIndex++}"
enabled="{panels.selectedIndex < panels.length-1}"
xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">
<!-- Gets the panels ActionScript class instance that includes the list of
visible the panels in a form guide. -->
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import ga.views.PanelListView;
private var panels:PanelListView = PanelListView.instance;

</mx:Script>

• Submit buttons are gone on many websites and other sites are just messed up since 3.6.13

Messed up: MSN Hotmail
I have a multiple blueish overlay over the words "Inbox" & "Folders"
The overlay has wording...more actions for Inbox or Folders/depending on which word it is laying over. (This is only in the Firefox browser)
I wish to remove that option not knowing how it got there and it serves me no purpose.
Several sites, and I cannot name them all so I will name one "YahooAnswers" where one answers a question and hits the "Submit" button. The submit button is now gone and there is no indication that it ever was there. The mouse "can see it" and activate the empty spot (and it is only after activation does the word "Submit" reappear.
Both of these issues are only when I use the Firefox browser and it seem with the update version 3.6.13
I am using XP.
My only recourse (to me) is to kick it back to an older browser version.
I have used Opera and there is none of this problem anywhere.
I.E.6sp1 is clean as well.

• Firefox won't play videos on websites at all, slow or get error message. Ok on other browsers!

eg a website I manage I get an error message "error loading material, file cannot be played" link to file in question: http://www.parbeach.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=822#top_display_media
Other videos in some websites are very slow and jerky or no sound but visual or the other way round.
This issue does not exist in other browsers eg IE and Chrome. I prefer Firefox but since I have had a Windows 8 laptop I have been getting this issue. Friends have had the the same issue.
Can you suggest how to correct this. This issue only started about 2 months ago. I have tried starting Firefox in safe mode but to no effect.

What file is giving this problem?
Is this about the file (FoPB_Spotlight.mp4) that plays in the Flash player on this page?
You can check the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) for errors and possibly the Network tab (you need to reload the page).
Try to disable hardware acceleration in the Flash Player and possibly in Firefox.

• Firefox not displaying website slider properly but works in other browsers

I am creating a website and the slider image is showing at the side of the website. I am using firefox 20 . It works fine on other browsers and other peoples firefox but for some reason it is not showing correctly on mine. This is the test website http://greatgreendeals.co.uk/exmoorsafari/. I have a screenshot but I can not see how to upload here

The #megaMenu is floated to the left, so it pushes div.featuredposts to the right. Try adding clear:left to div.featuredposts so it wraps down past the float.

• Why is it that image grayscaler code for website is not functioning with Mozilla Firefox, yet it does to other browser?

I just noticed that my code(in my blog site), which is a ordinary code that allows image to turn into its grayscale form and hover its original color, is not functioning with Mozilla Firefox browser. But with other browsers, it's working. I hope you can help me with this little issue. Thank you!

Does it use a CSS rule similar to:
filter: grayscale(100%)
This property is not yet implemented in Firefox. It is scheduled to be implemented in Firefox 34, according to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/filter

The page is http://www.shieldscontracting.com/contact.html

$email = $_REQUEST['email'];
$phone = $_REQUEST['phone'];
$message = $_REQUEST['message'];
mail( "[email protected]", "Website Contact",
"Contact From Website
Name: $name
Email: $email
Phone: $phone
Message: $message", "From: $email" );
header( "Location: thankyou.html" );
?>

First, the page is down, I just get a generic page. Second you may need to reach out to your web host. I see that you are using hosting from Intuit. Being that they have a proprietary setup, some custom scripts may not work.
Third, once that is confirmed, if you are making this script I would recommend changing the $_REQUEST text in the sendmail to $_POST. $_REQUEST means that your form can get spammed because they can pass the data via GET or POST. The $_POST is just the first step to ensure the data came from your form.

• Can a submit button send forms directly to an email address?

Hi, I'm just trying to design a form for an online business and am wondering whether I can have all forms sent directly to an email address to notify me of an order. I have Acrobat 9 Extended and Windows 7. Cheers

Yes, when you set up the Submit Form action, specify a mailto type URL. Make sure mailto is lower case and there are no spaces, something like: mailto:[email protected]
If you want Reader users to be able to send the entire PDF, it must be Reader-enabled: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader

• Fillable Form posted to website will not open web links in new window-wipes out data

Using Adobe Pro X, have a link to open a web link, but this is posted to our website and when a user clicks on the link, it does not open in a new window, so when they go back to the form, all the typed data is gone. I do not see an option for the link to open in a new window. Help!
Thanks

Ajlan,
I tested it with Firefox, which does not support filling in of forms and makes you open it with adobe reader, which it fine once you get to that point since you are no longer on the web. I have Adobe Reader XI. I am not aware of any clipboard policy.
I have actually found a fix that requires a java script that solves the issue.
Under link properties/Actions/Run a JavaScript-input the below.
app.launchURL("https://infoshare.jccc.edu/communities/toolbox/Desk%20Reference%20Manual%20Documents/per-d iem-and-mileage.pdf", true);
To truly fix this issue, I believe there needs to be an option of "in a new window" when you choose "Open a Web Link".
There are hundreds of individuals using this form and there is no way to know which browser they are using or which version of reader they have.
Thank you for your time.
