Submit by email with Mac OS

Hi there,
First time posting.  Thanks to everyone who is so amazing at answering questions here. I've learned alot.
I have a form created with Live Cycle Designer ES4.  I have enabled reader rights by doing "Save as other" in Acrobat Pro.
The "Submit by Email" function is setup to send the "complete PDF" as an attachment.  It works GREAT on a PC - perfect actually!  I get that popup box asking if I want to use my 'default email application' or 'webmail'.
On a MAC however, that same button does nothing when pressed.  I have made sure I am using the latest version of Adobe Reader on the mac and that I am not viewing the form through preview or any other app.
Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get this working on a MAC?
Thanks so much in advance!

It’s a wonder you could understand what I meant and glad you got it figured out here is an improved version of what I tried to say: (May help others struggling with same issue.
Sorry No advice. You can't, because Adobe it its shortsightedness hasn't built in XML based PDF support into the Mac Version. And probably never will. Adobe after 20-25 years still considers Macs as toys not really meant for serious work. Despite the fact, were it not for Mac users, And Adobe writing products for Mac first, they would still amount to a Font House today. For two years or more they wrote exclusively for Mac until PC's accepted them, after Mac Users worked the bugs out. Then we were all but abandoned.
We can read XML based PDF's, but can do nothing with them . What we can do, is re-save them which converts them to Plain PDF's. Then go to Forms Manager, and setup the form which will work on all Platforms.
So what you need to do is if you want your audience to include Mac users as well is avoid Lifecycle created forms and don't use any XML Based PDF Form . Create regular PDF forms and will it work on any platform.

  • How to submit an email with a header/footer in the body of the email?

    I'm trying to submit an email with a PDF attachment but needs to have a static header and footer in the the body of the email before sending it.  How would this be done and is it possible to do this? I'm new at this and not sure how to even start this.  Any help with this is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    You can put info into the body of the email but you are limited on formatting it. Here is a post from Stefan Cameron with sample that I think will really help you.

  • Problem sending emails with Mac Mail 1.3.11

    Desperately in need of help. I'm able to receive but not send email using Mac Mail. I keep getting an error message:
    "This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
    The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server"
    I have already tried the following at the advice of AppleCare reps:-
    Have verified & repaired disk utilities & keychains
    Have reinstalled the operating system
    Have trashed the mail.plist file
    Have trashed the outbox.mbox file
    Getting quite frustrated now because we have a mac bookpro with identical mail settings and it is able to send and receive mail without any problems.Could it be the version of Mail I'm running ?
    I initially thought that the problem related to having switched to a new ISP but the fact that one of the mac's has no problem has led me to be less convinced of that idea.
    Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
    Many thanks

    I am having the same problem exactly. I can read e-mail, but get the same error message trying to send it. I can't use .Mac anymore--have to use alternate e-mail for the last month--since some time in October 2006.
    I haven't changed anything on my G4, haven't upgraded anything, and the problem started about the time .Mac reported some customers were unable to use Mail for a couple of days in October.
    I see nobody answered your post. Did you ever get your mail to work? I have repaired permissions, but I don't think it has anything to do with that.

  • Submit by Email with CC for a pdf as an attachment

    Hello,
    I am using the codes below for a regular submit button to submit by email and having a problem of CC address. I hard-coded the CC address but it does not seem to recognize it, it keep taking the address in the "To" to put on the CC address. Can any one please check for me if there is any wrong with the codes below on the mouse up event:
    var cToAddr = "[email protected]";
    var cCCAddr = "[email protected]";
    //Set the subject and body text for the e-mail message
    var cSubLine = "Craft Issue Tracking Form";
    var cBody = "Please see the attached form.";
    // Send the form data as an FDF attachment on an e-mail
    event.target.mailDoc({bUI: true, cTo: cToAddr, cCc: cCCAddr, cSubject: cSubLine, cMsg: cBody});
    Thanks in advance,

    Try this..
    If you are using a regular Button then place the below code in the click event of the button.
    event.target.submitForm({cURL:"mailto:"+ cToAddr + "?cc=" + cCCAddr + "&subject=" + cSubLine + "&body=" + cBody,cSubmitAs:"PDF"});
    Thanks

  • Sending eMail with .Mac-alias using 10.3.9

    Hi,
    I have made up an alias in my .Mac account. Using my iBook with 10.4.4 I am able to select the alias as the sender of the mail.
    My older PowerBook runs 10.3.9 with mail 1.3.11. Here I cannot select the alias as the sender. The only way right now is to send alias-mails via the .Mac-Website. But jumping from mail to website during email-communication is not comfortable at all.
    Is there anyone who can help?
    thanks in advance

    Thanks a lot for this information.
    Now I know that..
    1) It does not work the way I want to
    2) The alias is "dead" and can not be turned into a real mac-email-address because I can not transfer it to any other family- or email-only-mac account.
    So be careful to just check if your preffered .mac-email-address is available using the alias-function. If is has been free for a non-alias-account, now it isn´t any longer :-((
    Thanks and best regards

  • Can't Send Emails With Mac OS X Mail?

    Why can't I send emails through Mac OS X Mail when I'm using another internet connection (besides my main home connection)?
    Thanks,
    Mason

    This is likely either because when at home you are using the SMTP provided by your ISP, and it is not separately Authenticated and thus blocked by the host ISP at the other venues, or you are using a third party SMTP successfully on Port 25 at home, but in the other venues, they are blocking third party SMTP on Port 25.
    If the SMTP of your ISP, check to see if they have a version that can be authenticated for travel use -- many do.
    If using another SMTP at home on Port 25, change to Port 587 which should work either at home or away.
    More info, please, if this does not solve, including who your ISP is?

  • Users Having Troubling Sending Email with Mac Mail Client with Godaddy

    Hello,
    I recently had issues' with my mail and my new Mac Pro and sending emails from www.godaddy.com. I tried 4 email clients and could retrieve my emails but the outgoing mail server keep rejecting my password. After I almost switch email companies I called one last person from godaddy. The support person James M suggested deleting the account in my email manager on godaddy system and re-created the account and everything works fine. Please note, to back up emails before doing this. I think something is corrupting something in the server that requires the deletion of the email account that is only effecting 10.64 users.
    Best of luck,
    M

    Have GoDaddy reset the SMTP relays to 0 (zero), then back up to 250 (or whatever your limit is). This reset the password authentication and emails were sent fine afterwards. Good luck.

  • University email with mac and iPhone

    So i guess that i must not be very tech savy or maybe this isn't possible, but would anyone know anything about setting up a university email account (that is through iPlanet Messenger Express) wih my mac and iPhone???

    Lebowski-Bluto,
    I was not familiar with iPlanet Messenger Express, so I did a search for it. Appears to be a web-based email service. You could access it with Safari.
    However, if you are looking to download your email you need to find out the POP3 or IMAP servers your university uses.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Trouble Reveiving (but not sending) email with Mac Mail

    I only intermittently can recieve yahoo emails on my new Air. Sending is no problem. Also recieve most, but not all, messages on my iPad. Sending also ok. But my iPhone sends and receives perfectly. Cants get help from apple, yahoo or time-Werner cable. ALL suggestions greatly appreciated. Very frustrated with my new Apple gear.

    Well, since your iPhone receives perfectly, use it as the model to set up your iPad and MacBook Air.
    On your iPhone, check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (your Yahoo account).  Check the Incoming Mail Server settings, particularly the host name and server port (if you have that, it may be under "Advanced").
    Make sure they're set the same on your iPad.  On your Mac, in Mail, go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and look under your Yahoo account.

  • How do I set up an alias email with Mac Mail, so that my alias shows up when I send email from my Mac Mail account?

    I am have an email forwarding service, not an email account, which I want to set up as an alias for Mac Mail so that my email appears in the "from" address when I send messages from Mac Mail. I'm having trouble figuring out what I need to do to set up this configuration. Thanks so much for your help!

    There are a couple of ways of doing this. The easiest is probably to just add the secondary address in the Mail.app -> Preferences -> Accounts field.
    The specifics of which vary a little based on the OS/Mail.app version you're running, but in Yosemite:
    Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts
    Select your iCloud account and change the 'Alias' popup menu from your iCloud address to 'custom'.
    Doing this enables the 'Email Address' field. In this field you can enter the email address you want to appear in your From header.
    If you want to use multiple addresses (e.g. your iCloud address and your other alias), you can enter a comma-separated list of addresses - e.g. '[email protected], [email protected]' and then you'll have a pop-up menu on each new message where you can choose the address to use for each outgoing message. You can also set the default address in Preferences -> Composing -> Send new messages from:

  • Impossible to send an email with Mac OS X, apache 1.3, php and sendmail

    I want to use my MacMini as Web Werver and I want to send an email using php by the mail() function. But it doesn't work. What must I do ?
    Please help me !

    sudo pico /etc/postfix/main.cf
    puis mettre un espace n'importe où où cela est possible, puis CTRL X, ajoutez un caractère ou deux au nom du fichier, puis Y.
    Pour modifier ensuite le premier fichier, faites à nouveau :
    sudo pico /etc/postfix/main.cf
    et ajoutez la ligne :
    myhostname = nomdedomainevalide.com
    à mettre après :
    # INTERNET HOST AND DOMAIN NAMES
    # The myhostname parameter specifies the internet hostname of this
    # mail system. The default is to use the fully-qualified domain name
    # from gethostname(). $myhostname is used as a default value for many
    # other configuration parameters.
    #myhostname = host.domain.tld
    #myhostname = virtual.domain.tld
    Enregistrez (CTRL X, puis Y)
    Ce nom de domaine que vous devez ajouter doit être valide et ne pas être le même que celui que vous allez mettre dans le deuxième fichier à modifier. Pour cela faites une sauvegarde comme précédemment pour le fichier main.cf, puis tapez à nouveau :
    sudo pico /usr/local/php5/lib/php.ini
    Ajoutez la ligne :
    sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i -f adressevalide@nomdedomainevalide
    que vous mettez après :
    [mail function]
    ; For Win32 only.
    SMTP = localhost
    smtp_port = 25
    ; For Win32 only.
    ;sendmail_from = [email protected]
    ; For Unix only. You may supply arguments as well (default: "sendmail -t -i").
    Puis enfin, enregistrer (CTRLX, puis Y)
    Je répète qu'il est impératif que le nom de domaine de l'adresse email ne soit pas le même que celui placé dans le premier fichier main.cf. Par ailleurs l'adresse email doit être valide pour être acceptée comme telle par celui qui reçoit votre message. Il vaut mieux que cette adresse soit votre adresse car elle ne sert qu'à vous envoyer des messages d'erreur envoyés par sendmail si jamais il y avait une erreur bien sûr !!! Le programme sendmail étant situé dans le path donné ci-dessus : /usr/sbin.
    Si cela ne fonctionne pas, vous pouvez debugger en faisant :
    sudo pico /var/log/mail.log
    cela vous permet de comprendre ce qui se passe chaque fois que vous envoyez par php un email.
    La procédure indiquée fonctionne avec Mac OS X.4.8, apache 1.3 et php 5.2.0
    Good Luck!

  • How to sync GoDaddy email with Mac Mail (sent items)

    Hi,
    I send email from my iPhone using my GoDaddy email for work. How can I get the sent email (from the iphone) to show up in Mac Mail's "sent list" for the same account?
    TIA!
    Brian

    irrelevant

  • IPhone 5 doesn't synchronise sent emails with Mac Mail and also doesn't mark them as read if they're opened on Mac Mail.

    I never had this problem with my 4S — I can't fix the individual mailboxes under Settings > Mail > *My Email* > Advanced anymore like I used to either.
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Currently set to Fetch across all emails.

    I think that Hotmail is a POP account so e-mails read on one phone will still look unread on another.
    Check you e-mail account settings and see if it says it's an IMAP account.
    If so, an e-mail read on one phone will show as read straight away on another.
    To test the theory, just send a few e-mails and agree with your wife who will read which ones, then check them to see if the theory is correct

  • Email with mac and bt

    for a couple of years I have used my ibook 4 (in the uk) with a bt internet account for email. Everything has been fine but for 3 days now I can not get into my bt email account. i don't get error messages, it's just that nothing opens up. i rang the helpline for bt (in india of course) and it got going for 5 minutes. I came out of it and of course now I can not get back in to it again. i don't want to ring up again yet, as i was on the phone for half an hour so i shall wait until tomorrow. has anyone else had a problem like this or is it just me?

    it seems the bt server was down over the weekend but the kind person on the helpline didn't see fit to mention it.
