I am presented with the options block, cancel, and allow. I of course select allow but it still will not allow me to submit the document after it has been completed. Can you please assist?

Email submit button pdf file

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, Adobe Reader X, and LiveCycle Designer.
I have a pdf file that I would like to be sent back to me in pdf format when the submit button is clicked. I created the button in LiveCycle Designer, and Extended features to adobe Reader. I am able to have a outloook message pop up with the PDF attached when using the Adobe Acrobate Pro, but not the Adobe Reader. Also, I had to change settings to allow all websites in Trust Manager under the Preferences before the outlook message would open up. Can anyone help me get the submit button to work in Adobe Reader?

Here's how mine works, I put in the submit button, and in the submit dialogue tab I type in "mailto:" in the URL address and select the "pdf" from the drop down menu under "submit as". Then save it as either a static or dynamic pdf, Reader enable it and open it in Adobe Reader. Now when you click your submit button, an email should open up ready to be addressed where ever you want to mail it, with your pdf as an attachement.

CGI script to submit a PDF file to a server.

I am looking for a cgi script that will help me post a pdf file to a server after it has been filled out.

It doesn't have to be CGI, any script that will allow me to save the pdf or just the information in the form to the server would be helpful. I have no idea why the printer thinks there is a password? When I opened the security link in Acrobat nothing is selected? So I'm stuck. I also opened the PMD thinking there was some password attached there & I found nothing?

Generate PDF file in SharePoint 2013

I have a requirement to create .pdf file while one item is submitted to list/library in SharePoint 2013.
It means when employee inputs his/her data and after submit one pdf file will generated with the summary/relevant data.

you can not achieve this out of box, custom development with integration of 3rd party controls is required to generate pdf files. There are paid components available but i will suggest you to use iTextSharp which is a free open source library to generate
pdf files.

Sending a pdf file using submit without client email program.

I need a solution on sending a completed pdf file to my email address without the clients email program poping up. My website has a small pdf file that users can complete and return to me. I get many complaints from users stating it requires them to save the file first and then they are unsure were it saved or how to attach it to a email. To make this easer on my users I want the submit button to simply send me the file using some method from my website. I use iPage to host the site now. I was looking for a script to call or some way to do this automaticly. I was woundering if urs/sbin/sendmail might work. I am simply at a loss on this.

Using a sendmail type script will send you the form data in the body of an email message, if the form is set up to submit as "HTML". You can create your own script to attach the form data as an FDF, XFDF, or even the complete PDF, but it's unlikely your provider supplies a script for this, so you'd have some custom programming to do.
Sending just the form data also avoids the licensing restrictions for Reader-enabled forms. You can easily import an FDF or XFDF into a blank form to create a filled-in form.

PDF file size increases when I add a Email Submit button

Hello,
My PDF form is 87KB. Once I add a Email submit button the file size jumps to 525KB. Why?
Reason this confuses me is that it seems to be inconsistent. I have added this function to other PDF forms and the file size only increased a few KB. Every now & then adding a button or Javascript will increase the file size.
I have retraced my steps over & over, but I cannot find a answer to why this is happening.

The problem is the font. Use Helvetica instead. When you do, Acrobat/Reader actually use a version of Arial anyway.
When you use one of the non-base-14 fonts (Helvetica, Times, Courier, [and their bold, italic, bold italic variants] Symbol, and Zafp Dingbats) for a form field, Acrobat has to embed the entire font in the file, and some can be rather large. The base-14 fonts are guaranteed to be available for use by the compliant PDF viewer, so there is not need to embed them in the file. A viewer is allowed to substitute suitable replacement fonts, which is what Acrobat/Reader now do.
The problem is you can't simply go back and change the font to Helvetica and see the full size reduction that you'd expect after you do a Save As. This is because Acrobat does not clean up everything as well as you might expect. So what you have to do is go back to a version of the form that does not have the button, or copy & paste the field from the old form to a new PDF that doesn't have any fields, but delete the button first. Then create the button anew.

I know that Acrobat does not offer a field for image file submission.
whether there are workarounds to solve this problem?
I have found suggestions regarding place an image to button icon:
event.target.buttonImportIcon();
but I can't understand is it possible to submit this image to server (Reader supports PDF only).

Hi Yury,
Yes, that's correct you can create a button and add a script to it that would prompt the user to select an image file when that button is clicked. Then that image can be displayed using the same button (buttons can show either an image or text).
The script in question is:
event.target.buttonImportIcon();
You need to add it as an Run a JavaScript-action to your button, triggered by the MouseUp event, and of course set the button's layout.

On submitting the image it gets embedded with the PDF.
If the users are using Acrobat they will be able to view the image in the PDF, however if they are using only Reader, you will have to create the form using LiveCycle & then save it in a Reader Extendable Format.

currently the submit function allow to select XML or PDF but not both.

My env is a trial jboss turnkey 8.2 installation. I have read through a lot in the forums about submit buttons with xdp format. I have tried to get this to work but in vain. I have a simple form with two fields and I configured a submit button. The url is set to mailto:[email protected] The submit as is set to xdp and then I choose options- Annotation,PDF and template. Interestingly I can get the button to work for me as long as I dont have the "pdf" option selected. The button only works when I have annotations and template selected. So this gives me everything in the resulting xdp except for the binary embedded pdf. I recall the last time I tried it, instead of the binary document, a pdf href location to the pdf was included instead. I need the embedded pdf to be included in the xdp which I believe shows up within the <chunk> tag. Why is my submit button not working with pdf? How can I get this to work to get my embedded pdf document. The reason I need this to work is to be able to remotely work with the xml dataset inside the xdp and then be able to get users to see the updated pdf using reader. Without the entire binary, reader cannot render the binary at a later time. Any help is very appreciated.

I am designing a form with Adobe Acrobat Pro X that will be filled in on the web. So I've got a Submit button on it set to Submit a form, being sent to a URL (an html file), and I have checked (under Export Format) PDF The complete document.
So where is this exported PDF file once a user has submitted the filled-in form?
How can my html file find this PDF file?
I don't see where you define the location for these PDF files to go. I haven't been able to find a repository with these PDF files in them. And I can't find any info on the web.

I've been working on php code to get the data sent by the form, save it to a file and send an email with the file as an attachment.
If I set the form submit button in the AA form to send the data in fdf format, the php file only seems to get header info. If I send using pdf format, it gets pages and pages of code and symbols. Nothing I can parse.
Can't figure out how to save these pages and pages of code and symbols to a file and not very confident that if I did manage to and send them as an email attachment that they would ever reformat themselves to become a readable PDF.
All I want to do is send the filled-out form as a PDF attachment to an email. I don't care about the fields or the data - I just want the PDF.
And, no, I don't want to use the submit form to email feature because it is clunky.

'Submit by Email' - Not receiving pdf file?

I created a form which has 'Submit by Email' add in button through LiveCycle. But when I receive mail, it does not come in as pdf file.
The extention it comes out is .xml
Is there anyways I can change it in LiveCycle and receive mails as pdf files?
