Submitted Valid RSS & No Feedback from Apple

I have submitted a valid RSS to the store (http://the66.net/feed/) 4 times over the past 5 months. Each time I have submitted the feed I have received an email from Apple saying "Your podcast feed was successfully added and is now under review." After waiting for 4 weeks for the podcast to be added to iTunes with no communication from Apple, I resubmitted the feed. I have gone through this process 4 times now with no luck. Apple has yet to send me an email stating whether or not my podcast has been accepted.
I have manually followed my podcast in my iTunes Library by clicking File->Subscribe to Podcast->Enter URL. The feed works perfectly in my Library. This leads me to believe that the problem is not with my feed but with Apple.
I have tried going through customer service but the emails I am receiving from Apple are quite vague and not of much use.
PLEASE help.

I have no way of knowing why this is happening: there appear to be no technical nor content problems with your feed. Subsequent attempts to submit it should have led to an error message telling you the feed has already been submitted: if you didn't see this then it looks as if the feed isn't getting into the submissions process at all.
Other than changing the title slightly and trying again I can only suggest emailing Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com, though I can't promise that you will get any sort of helpful answer.

Why do I keep getting error messages when submitting a validated RSS feed URL to iTS. Feed is http://streaming.integrationworks.com:3000/archive/feed2.xml
I get variations on the follwoing message: "We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code: 504"
I validated this file at http://www.feedvalidator.org/. I am able to manually place it in iTunes (Open Stream) and download episodes. I can paste the URL in my browser and retrieve an RSS feed page.
    Any ideas?
    Rick

You have to remember that when subscribing manually, it's only your iTunes application which is doing this - the Store is not involved at all. When submitting, the Store software checks the feed as a technical check before its assessed for content by humans; but how this is done and what sort of call is made to the server is another of Apple's dark secrets.
You're the third with a similar situation in the last couple of days, and I've seen this arise before: though the specific message about a proxy server is unique to you. (A proxy server would act as an intermediary - anyone accessing the feed would ask the proxy for it, and the proxy would retrieve it from the actual server and pass it back, masking the original server's URL in the process. Whether this is actually what is going on is obviously something only your server technicians can say - and then there's the question of what is different about a request from the iTunes Store.)
If all else fails you could place the feed on another server and try again - you could do this and leave the episode media files where they are, they don't have to be on the same server as the feed, as long as the server in question can handle 'byte-range requests' (which is a quite separate can of digital worms).

  • ATTENTION!! RECEIVED FRAUDULENT EMAIL PRETENDING TO BE APPLE!! I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple

ATTENTION!! RECEIVED FRAUDULENT EMAIL PRETENDING TO BE APPLE!! I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple in the past asking letting me know a purchase had been made and asking if I had made the purchase, but the item listed has alway been a purchase that I had made. Since I had received similar emails in the past, I didn't think anything of it. Because I had not purchased the item listed, I immediately clicked on the link in order to change my password, which has been suggested in authentic emails i had received from Apple in the past. The site I was redirected to was exactly the same as the Apple site where you go to change your password. I entered my userID and password and it stated a verification email would be sent, if it was not sent click "resend email." When I did not receive an email, after about 10 seconds I went to the Apple site and followed the SAME EXACT step on pages that were IDENTICAL to the FRAUDULENT website I apparently had just been at. When I clicked "Send verification email," I DID receive an email within seconds, which had a special link that brought me to a page where I could change my password, which I did. I later compared a legitimate email to the FRAUDULENT email and I DID FIND A DIFFERENCE, BUT IT WAS ALMOST UNNOTICEABLE unless you were really, really looking.  I doubt it would be noticed by anyone if not comparing it closely to a real email. THE DIFFERENCE WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE AUTHENTIC EMAIL, THERE WERE THREE LINKS THAT COULD BE SELECTED - My Apple ID/Support/Privacy Policy. ON THE FRAUDULENT EMAIL THESE LINKS WERE NOT PRESENT!!! Just today I received an email from Apple stating my password had been changed today. I did not change my password today. When I changed after getting the fake email, I did not think about my SECURITY QUESTIONS!!! If you forget your Apple password, you are able to answer the security questions in place of your ID and you get a confirmation email. Even though I changed my password within a one minute when I did not get a confirmation email with a link to change my password right away and I went dierctly to Apple's site, apparently it was enough time to take all the information on my account - INCLUDING MY DEBIT CARD NUMBER, WHICH HAD BEEN REQUIRED WHEN I INITIALLY SET UP THE ACCOUNT!!! Today I received a call from VISA FRAUD PROTECTION asking about strange activity on my account and stating they were concerned and wanted to ensure I had used the account. I HAD NOT, AND ALL THE MONEY IN MY BANK ACCOUNT HAD BEEN STOLEN!!!!! I am writing this in hopes that many people will see it and NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM. Please pay close attention to any emails you supposedly receive from Apple - If the links "MY APPLE ID/SUPPORT/PRIVACY POLICY," PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME IT IS AN AUTHENTIC EMAIL FROM APPLE. I suggest you immediately forward the email to apple, which I didn't do because this happened days ago. Nothing was taken from my money that was already on the Apple account, and nothing had been taken from my checking account. I guess I assumed there had been something wrong with the link in the email directing me to where I could change my password, plus I had gone to the valid Apple website and changed my password for real, and I guess I was thinking that changing my password would prevent someone from being able to acces my account info. PLEASE DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM AS I DID!!!!

No need for alarm. There are several folks a day posting like threads. Most folks know these phishing attempts for what they are and merely delete with prejudice.
To the bottom line... if you wish - and I am sure Apple will take notice - you should FORWARD the email to [email protected] and delete.

  • Feedback from my Apple Store Survey (Additional info field)

The delivery of my iPhone docks was amazing, I placed the order about 1-2pm Tuesday and it arrived well before noon on wednesday. It was so quick I was stunned.
Too bad I can't purchase items like this through iTunes.
    Probably not your field, but i'm extremly disapointed with the iPhone3G for many reasons;
    1) iPod function of the iPhone is terrible compared to my old iPod Nano, I use to be able to manually manage my Podcasts and music between my home computer and my work computer, or at least be able to play them from my iPod when connected to iTunes at both ends.
    2) The calendar/appointment aspect of the iPhone is useless, I cannot set the alert sound, I cannot see my upcoming appointments from the screensaver/unlock screen and or would be nice to have a "Today/Frontpage" like app, where this info and other custom choices can be displayed on one screen, rather then opening and closing apps all the time.
    3) Missed Calls, SMS's and Email notifications need to be in that top info bar aswell with the time, carrier and battery info. Because in order to see these notifications you have to be on the home screen. ie, I have my iPhone docked at work, with the Apple Remote app running for iTunes, then walk over to the printer to grab something. Come back to my desk, glance at the iPhone thats sitting in its dock and i'm none the wiser if I had any SMS's, Missed Calls or Email sent to my iPhone, unless I return to the home screen to see the little red number next to the icon.
There is more but i'll leave it at that for now.
My happiness with the product itself is 50/50, I use to recommend iPods to everyone I knew, but not the iPhone. I discurrage them at this stage.
    Cheers
    Justin

That would depend on whether your model actually has a hard drive. If you have the new 2013 Retina model, then you have a fixed storage device built-in that cannot be modified after purchase.

I bought the company unlocked phone from apple store Canada. It was originally loaded with software 4.2 and was working fine here in SaudiArabia.  Yesterday I updated with IOS 5.0.1.  Now it is showing that sim is not valid.  The same sim works fine in other phones.

Here's and update on my problems and here are are some screen shots of the types of problems I've been having since the v5.0.1 update. Keep in mind these are native apps and I have tried the rebuild phone crap many times, nothing helps.
This is screen shot of a what happened when I tried to use my camera one day, both the front and back cameras were all black. I had to power cycle the phone to get rid of this problem. The cameras appeared to be working correctly, I could focus and zoom but it was all black.
Here is an image of what happened when I searched for something in a map. This is after I picked the choice I wanted, the keyboard disappeared but the list didn't. I had to force close the app and restart it for this problem to go away. Who knew five bars on ATT was possible.
And finally this is the messaging app, although you would not know it. I had to return to home screen (after a long pause for it to process the button push) and return to the messaging app. This happens all the time with the messaging app and the notifications sounds drive me crazy. If  i'm using the phone, say browsing the web and I get an incoming message its almost 100% of the time the messaging app will screw up. The sound will play at the wrong time or not at all, message will show up in notifications and diasapear in message app or Ill have a problem like this:

  • How can I verify virus warning from Apple is valid?

I just received a notice from the "Apple security center" warning me that Apple Web Security has detected Trojans and is ready to remove them all.  This is followed by options to Cancel or Remove all.  The claim is that 66 viruses have been found.
I am suspicious to follow this warning in case it is not legitimately from Apple.
My Apple Care is expired and I cannot find a way to contact them to verify Apple sent this warning.

Hi spartan, I've just received a similar warning.
    Check this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0hNrr_A5Gc
It is a trojan horse. Once you clic on any button it will download an "anti-malware.zip" file which has a "inavd.pkg" file that should have an anti-malware. In case you've downloaded them, just delete them and empty the trash. Finally, close that tab and contact apple: http://www.apple.com/contact/feedback.html
    Good luck!

I got the same error and can't get it to work.  My email and home address have not changed in the 3 years I've been using this device, my credit card info is up to date and my most recent rental was 2 days ago yet I get the error message on both the Apple TV and in iTunes.  I don't understand what the issue is, nothing is invalid.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message to Apple.

  • My phone company submitted a request to unlock my iPhone at the end of my contract and I haven't heard back from Apple for three weeks. How do I prod them to get on with it?

Hi. I finished the contract through which I got my iPhone (Orange UK) and I've waited three weeks to get a message from Apple to say the phone is unlocked so I can use it with another service. Anyone know a way of prodding them to get on with it so I can use my phone. The required 20 days (ludicrous) are up and nothing from Cupertino.

Just to clarify - When I requested my unlock from AT&T, I received an email from them that my unlock was approved.  I verified with Apple that the unlock request had been processed, and then I just had to restore my phone.  You can call Applecare at 800-694-7466 and ask them if your carrier has processed your request to unlock the phone.  If not, you will need to contact the carrier again (as Gail pointed out - it is the carrier who unlocks the phone).

  • TS2446 I have this email with this adress request account update. Is this a valid request from Apple?AppleID@customers.appstore.70.ca

Hello I have this email requesting to update account information. Was wondering if it is a valid request or fraudulent?

Apple will never, except for some customer surveys which will never ask for personal information, never uses a domain other than their own apple.com domain, and never asks you for account information in an email. As stedman said, it's a phish. Delete it and do not respond to it in any way.
    Regards.

I have been receiving email supposedly from apple asking me to validate my account. I ignored as I thought they were a hoax as they wanted me to verify my CC details. Now I'm getting mail saying I'm transmitting virsus mitting viruses and I need to verify my credit card details.??  Is this real or hoax as it also saying if I don't it will lead to permanent deactivation immediately. It is absolutely a fake. Do not, I repeat do not, respond to these emails in any way. You can report them to Apple if you wish:
    [email protected]
but there's little or nothing they can do about such scams so it's probably not worth the effort and you can just delete the fakes.
