Submitting a podcast

I made a podcast using the program feed editor. (It is itunes enabled) I checked it with feed validator and it says it is a valid feed. Also, I use itunes to subscribe to the podcast and it downloads to the program. My problem is that the podcast never show up in the itunes store. I have tried submitting it many times and the message I receive is, it appears this feed has been submitted.

It isn't yet a week since the podcast was submitted; it can take longer than that - it required human intervention to assess it, so there's obviously going to be a queue. Your feed seems fine, so it's just a question of waiting. The Store 'knows' your podcast has been submitted, so there's no point in trying to submit it again; it's now awaiting acceptance - like everyone's podcast it has to be checked to make sure it's not breaking any rules.

  • HELP!! "timed out" submiting video podcast through iweb to itunes

I am trying to submit a vid podcast through iweb to itunes and am getting a timed out message. Please help. I have read other posts similar to my problem, and have checked to see that all of my fields are filled in. Don't know what the deal is. thanks for the help.

This is what I received from iTunes help:
    Dear Eric,
The iTunes team reviews each podcast submission. Depending on demand,
it may take a week or two before the podcast is published.
I'm sorry to hear you received an error when you tried to publish a
podcast to the iTunes Store. If you are re-submitting a podcast for
review, the iTunes Store may detect the submission as a duplicate and
generate an error message stating that the feed has already been submitted.
You can follow these steps to resubmit the podcast:
    1) Change the title and link fields of the RSS feed to something other
    than what they are now.
    2) Resubmit the podcast feed via iTunes.
    3) Once you have successfully submitted the podcast, you can change the
title and link fields back to what they were.
There are several less-common reasons iTunes might have displayed this
    error:
    * The podcast's RSS feed was not available.
    * The podcast's RSS feed timed out.
    * The podcast's RSS feed could not be validated.
If you are the podcaster, make sure your podcast is available on the
Internet. Your podcast's RSS feed also should conform to the iTunes
    extended podcast RSS specification.

Discussions forums, which have a wealth of information about specific issues.

  • Submitting a podcast from taiwan

    Frustrating!
I have an account. I am in Taiwan. My credit card is from Taiwan. Because apple only sells iphone apps in Taiwan, i am unable to access the US store unless i change my location to the US. Then i can get podcasts. When i try to submit MY podcast, it says i cannot purchase anything because i live in Taiwan. Of course, i am SUBMITTING a podcast feed, not purchasing anything! There must be some way to work around this, or does apple have a policy of censoring content from non-approved nations?

  • There was an error submitting your podcast

We have installed Podcast Producer 2 on a demo 10.6.2 server. We are able to use Podcast Capture directly on the server and podcasts are produced and able to be accessed through the Podcast library.
But when attempting to use Podcast Capture on a 10.5.8 client, after logging in and recording the podcast, when publishing we get the following message from Podcast Capture:
"There was an error submitting your podcast"
Some things I have noticed from the Server Logs:
    Apache Error Log:

The 401 Unauthorized also shows up even when we use podcast capture directly on the server. But the podcast still works then. So I'm not sure this is really an issue.
I have a feeling this is some sort of permissions issue, but I have tried changing the permissions on the /var/pcast and /var/pcast/server folder

How do I change my server so that it uses the FQDN "demomaster.nobl.k12.in.us" everywhere instead of sometimes using the local hostname demomaster.local.
It appears this is a DNS issue. We have set the hostname using scutil and running changeip -checkhostname shows
    Current HostName = demomaster.nobl.k12.in.us
    DNS HostName = demomaster.nobl.k12.in.us
The names match. There is nothing to change.
    dirserv:success = "success"
nslookup on the ip shows that the reverse is working and pointing to the FQDN.
Computer Name in Server admin is set to: demomaster.nobl.k12.in.us
Local Hostname is set to: demomaster
but under the podcast Producer overview screen in Server Admin our Podcast Library and Capture URL both show http://demomaster.local:port instead of the FQDN.
    How do we change this?
    Thanks again.

  • Trouble submitting my podcast

    Hi community,
I get an unspecific error message, when submitting my podcast: http://www.startuprad.io/feed/
I am not sure what is wrong and why iTunes won't accept it. Please advice!
    Best
    Joe

This is not a podcast feed. It has no 'enclosure' tags containing the URLs of your media files, as required by iTunes. and lacks the 'iTunes declaration' in the second line. There is a reference to an mp3 file in you 'content: encoded' tags but iTunes does not read these; there is also a reference to a .swf file which iTunes does not play.
You have constructed your feed in WordPress. I can't advise on the details of WordPress but I suspect you will need either to use the PodPress plugin or route your feed through Feedburner and add the media files there. The former would be preferable as Feedburner has its own issues (and there are rumours of its impending discontinuation).

  • Timeout error when submitting feedburner podcast feed to itunes

This is my first time submitting my podcast to itunes, I have created the feed with feedburner and I can manually subscribe and download the podcast in itunes however when i try to submit the feed I recieve the generic timout error, see below. I have tried for several days with different machines to no avail. Any suggestions?
    Feed Address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ThePortcast
    Thanks in advance.

The feed appears to be OK; sometimes individual servers can behave oddly with the Store but as yours is a Feedburner feed there shouldn't be any problem, so there is no obvious reason why this is happening.
You could try the allternative submission URL:
    https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast
If that doesn't work one possibility is that there is a problem at the Store end, which does happen though it doesn't usually go on for several days. You could try emailing support at podcasts 'at' apple.com but I have to say that you likely won't get a helpful answer. Otherwise I can only suggest giving it a day or two and trying again.

  • Submitting Your Podcast to iTunes

I need to break my question into steps, otherwise it will get confusing. If there is anyone that can advise me on my next steps that would be great!
    1. I submitted my Podcast and realized I submitted the incorrect feed URL.
    2. I than removed my Podcast from iTunes.
    3. While submitting the new feed URL I didn’t receive any prompt, so I thought I should submit the URL again.
    4. I received this message reading, “it appears your feed has already been submitted.”
    5. The first URL has no connection with the second (new) URL so I am wondering why I received this message. (it appears your feed has already been submitted)
    Can anyone help!
    HP 1740   Windows 2000

I can't see any reason why there should be a problem. The only thing about your feed is that there is no 'itunes:duration' tag containing the duration of each episode in the format hh:mm:ss so that the Store can't know what the duration of the podcast is - however this shouldn't cause a problem about submissions.
Occasionally the submissions process falls over and give incorrect rejections, so possibly that's the problem. You could try leaving it for a day or so and trying again.

  • Submitting a podcast and iTunes approval

I submitted a podcast/podcast feed a number of weeks ago and it successfully published in iTunes, however a few days after successfully publishing the feed, iTunes removed it from the US store (most likely because of technical difficulties). I then re-created the podcast using Feed for All and have successfully validated the feed on numerous sites on the Web.
I have since resubmitted the feed to iTunes, however the feed is not publishing ... I check our link and it says the feed "cannot be located in the US store."
My question: How do I get my feed on iTunes even though my feed is valid and clean? I have submitted and resubmitted it over 3 times in the past 10 days with no luck.
Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

One, how long does it take for a podcast to be accepted and found on the iTunes store?
    Up to two weeks.
Two, how does iTunes define- copyright? I have heard numerous podcasts with sound bytes taken from tv and radio programs, and they have all been approved.
If the copyright owner raises a complaint, the podcast may be removed. Apple does not appear to automatically screen content.

  • Re-submitting my podcast feed after it has been deleted dosen't work?

    Hi
I had recently submitted a podcast feed for my company. However I made a mistake in asking to have it deleted so I could make some changes.
Now having completely revised my understanding of how the feed works, I have now re-submitted my feed:
    http://www.shogunaudio.co.uk/podcast.xml
When the podcast was up before it ran fine, and was very popular. My feed is valid, I can subscribe using the 'advanced - subscribe to podcast' in iTunes. But for some reason it won't register. I have re-submitted the same feed 3 times and I don't get a 'duplicate feed' warning, it just says that it is submitted and I will be getting an email, but nothing happens.
I desperately want to get this up and running asap, what is wrong here?
    Thanks

I can't really say what is going on, but I don't think submitting from another account or changing the IP number will have any effect. Normally in this situation you should change the title slightly, and also rename the feed - as I suggested, you could call it podcast1.xml (so that the URL changes) - these are the parameters affecting it. The only other possibility I can think of is that you have managed to introduce some problem into the feed which is causing it not to be accepted (though if you can subscribe from the 'Advanced' menu this seems unlikely).
Would you like to post the URL of the revised feed?

  • Submitted my podcast (The Maggy Thump Show) to itunes a month ago, haven't heard from them. Is this typical? Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello! I submitted my podcast (The Maggy Thump Show) to Itunes about a month ago, I
haven't received any correspondence yet. Is this typical? Please help! Any information,
suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks

Hey braswell4AU: I have a similar issue. I purchased 2 iPhone 5's the first day they came out. Black 64gb for myself and white 32gb for my wife. She is having somewhat the same issues as you have. Wifi is weak and keeps dropping the signal, and also her phone almost never has LTE. And we are in a very strong Verizon LTE area in north Los Angeles county. My phone has never had any signal issues, wifi or LTE. I have been researching the issue to no avail. I though maybe the white with the brushed alluminum may cause signal issues, but haven't found anything on that and posts about the black one haven't problems blew that theory up.
I have also changed the SIM card and the phone itself and still the same problem. I saw a post about someone getting their phone swapped out and the apple rep told him not to restore the phone, but to just set it up as new. I have yet to try it, gonna try this weekend.. But it makes sense! I, like you have 6 apple devices (2 iPhone 5's, 2 iPhone 4's apple tv3, and the ipad3) and have no issues running all my devices via router.
So I am thinking about the history of the restores and backups and my wife is the only one that went from the 4 to the 5.. Every other device was setup as new. So my theory is that he iphone 5 has issues when you restore from previous backups.. Maybe something a little different from the backups of the previous models create issues in the iPhone 5's?
Like I said, I'm going to give it a shot this weekend and see what happens. If you get a chance to try this before, please let me know if it works and if I try before you I will update you.
Good luck and hopefully we can get these wonderful phones working like they should!
      Nate

  • When submitting my podcast it says feed has no episodes?

I have submitted several podcasts and this is the first time I ran into a problem, perhaps things have changed in the past 9 months or so?  I have one podcast as of right now and plan a weekly update
    Here is the link
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/PrimalLowCarbPodcast
Maybe my formatting *****?  Just not sure where to begin or what software to use to generate the xml file anymore - thanks for any help - it is truly appreciated

Your episode has no playable media - iTunes does not display episodes with no playable media. Your episode needs an 'enclosure' tag containing the URL of an mp3, m4a, m4v, mp4  or mov file. Your has links to web pages containing links to mp3 files but this won't do you any good.
This page contains basic information about making a podcast, including a sample feed so you can see what one should look like:

  • Submitting a Podcast URL

    Hello,
I have just submitted a Podcast to the Itunes Directory by 'podcast feed url' - and everything worked fine.
But now, I want to cancel that submission. The reason, is because I added new items to the podcast and need to re-submit or submit a new URL.
How do I cancel the original submission? Is there a way to do this? Is there a way to re-submit?
I tried to submit it again - but get error "The feed has already been submitted".
Is there any way to cancel the feed - and start again?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Does any one know how to stop a submission to the iTunes Store?
    Or
How do you add new items to your previous submission?
    Any help greatly appreciated...

  • Could I link my existing youtube videos (or Facebook, Myspace, Vimeo, Flickr duplicates) in a field somewhere and link to them (after initially submitting a podcast feed URL)?

I've found podbean.com, and will explore podomatic.com, for submitting video podcasts to the iTunes Directory. But now that I've found these RSS feed URL generators (and will look for others) is there a way within these websites or in blogs to link to my existing videos on Facebook, for example, and the video appear in the iTunes Store?

I'm afraid not - please see my response to your post in the other thread.

  • How long after submitting a podcast does it show in iTunes?

I submitted a podcast last Thursday, its Tuesday now and it is still not on iTunes. How long does it usually take?

Several days is normal, plus yesterday's holiday will slow it up a bit as well.
Is the author tag in your feed file contain a valid e-mail address? Apple will respond only to that address if it finds a problem in the feed file. Check the spam holding area too if the account has one.

  • I submitted my podcast but never received an email.

I submitted my podcast but never received an email. I tried tried resubmitting but it stated that it had already received my submission. Anyway to resend a confirmation email?

The fact that you get an error message on trying to resubmit indicates that your submission was successful. You should have received a confirmation but there's always the possibility that it's gone astray or been spam-trapped.
It can take two weeks, sometimes quite a bit more, for a podcast to be accepted, at which point you should get an email giving you the Store page URL, so check that you haven't been spam-trapping such messages. Otherwise you'll just have to try searching in the Store from time to time (though this can take a further period to become effective).

  • Submitted a podcast five days ago, but haven't heard from iTunes

I submitted a podcast to the iTunes store on Friday (five days ago), but never received an email confirming that it had been received. I pinged it today and found out the feed ID, but still haven't heard from iTunes. Obviously, no luck finding it in the iTunes store.
The feed url is http://www.wfp.org/aid-professionals/podcast/feed and the feed ID is 405486359.
How long does it usually take for iTunes to process a submission request???

How long does it usually take for iTunes to process a submission request???
Usually rather more than five days. The ID number you've found is presumably issued on submission - using it in the standard URL for the Store doesn't work -
    http://www.itunes.com/podcast?id=405486359
It will once the podcast has been accepted, so you can use it to check. The time it takes for acceptance varies - it requires human intervention and obviously depends on the length of the queue you're in: it might take a couple of weeks so I'm afraid it's just a question of waiting.
