Submitting podcast results in "network connection has reset" error

Hello,
I've been attempting for the past few days to submit my podcast RSS feed to iTunes. Each time I try, it loads for about a minute before giving me an error message: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset." Based on other potential solutions I read, I tried disabling my firewall/antivirus software, using a different RSS feed, and having someone else try to submit it, all with the same result. Are there any other solutions that may help me submit the podcast?

I was able to subscribe manually to the feed at http://mixcloud-rss.georgipavlov.com/popunmuted/mp3/20 in iTunes and download the latest episodes, so there is no obvious problem. It has been known for a server to fail to respond properly to a request from the Store when it's OK with the iTunes application or a browser, so I can only suggest that this might be the issue and you should query it with the people running your server.

  • Unable to download iPhone update - "network connection was reset" error

I'm trying to download the latest version of the iPHone software update, but I keep getting the same error 50 - 75% of the way through the download. I get an error that says "Your network connection was reset". All other downloads work PERFECTLY in all other programs.
I've cleared my DNS, I've disabled my McAfee security software...any suggestions??

I am having a similar problem. The iPhone software will not update.
I can (and have) updated the most recent version of iTunes (9.0.3.15). When that completed, it asked to download the newest iPhone software, 3.1.3. I said yes, and the download began.
It shows 'Downloading 1 item iPhone software update (2 minutes remaining) for about thirty seconds, then the number climbs higer for a few seconds and the error message: There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "iPhone". The network connection timed out.
Ever since then, i get the same results and same message no matter what. I have diables firewall, virus protection, rebooted, tried to resotre instead of just update, reauthorized my computer, checked all connections (i can do other updates, surf the web uninterrupted, etc).
I am using a wireless connection, but even the itunes update itself worked, just not the iPhone update.
    Thanks for any advice,
    Jim
EDIT: I also noticed that itunes changed from recognizing the phone as 'Jim's iPhone' to 'iPhone'

  • Network Connection was Reset Error

Tried to sign into iTunes Store and received the following message. "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was RESET! What is the problem. I am using Windows 7 and everthing else is working fine Internet service etc.
    Hope someone can help!

The internet connection is not propaly setup on your iTunes app, DO NOT change the settings unless you know what your doing. Also, is this a one time or does it happen permentally, because if it happens permentally then you will need to re-install iTunes

    You can try this :
    - hold down the reset button for about 30 seconds, then unplug the device, while you are still holding down the reset button.
    - leave unplugged for about 5 seconds, while you are still holding down the reset button.
    - plug the unit back in, while you are still holding down the reset button.
    - after about 5 seconds, let go off the reset button.
    - go to the webpage of the router.
    - you should see the special mode.

I was unable to download episodes from a season I purchased. It kept giving me the same "connection has been reset" error message. But I went and clicked on support under quick links in iTunes and it allowed me to start downloading from that screen. I didn't have to go into anything, it just automatically popped up that I had items to download and asked if I wanted to download them. I clicked on it, it prompted me for my password, and then started downloading them instantly.

  • Trying to connect to itunes with my i4 which has been reset but it keeps saying network connection has time out

cant seem to connect my iphone4 to itunes my phone was reset now itunes is saying network connection has timeout

Mine did the same, but when it reset to factory settings it came up with another error message and told me that it couldn't be done. Result: I have an iPod Classic that is well and truly stuck, not recognized by my Mac, not recognized by iTunes, can't be turned off and is stuck on a screen "OK to disconnect".

  • After updating my Iphone 4s to os 7.1.1 ota, my phone went into recovery mode. Yet when I try to restore it with Itunes on my windows 7 laptop it says the network connection has been reset! My phone has the itunes logo and charger symbol on it .

After updating my Iphone 4s to os 7.1.1 from 7.1 over the air, my phone went into recovery mode. Yet when I try to restore it with Itunes on my windows 7 laptop it says the network connection has been reset. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network is active, or try again later. My phone has the itunes logo and charger symbol on it, as well as an arrow pointing at the Itunes logo. After holding the sleep button down or even doing the hard reset the same screen comes up on my phone regardless of whether it is plugged in or not to my computer. I have turned my computer off and on again. It is plugged in and charging as it's battery life is very short. I also reset my modem and the same error message pops up. The only option on my computer when my phone is plugged in is to restore it. My firewall also allows Itunes through it. I have literally tried everything I know being someone who knows very little about technology. I also do not want to hear about how the update worked for other people. My phone has been in recovery mode for 5 hours at least now so it will just make me more frustrated if a bunch of people post about how the update worked for them.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
    iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
    Then See Here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once...  Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...
    Restore from Backup  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    If the issue persists...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...

  • ITunes network connection has been reset: Anyone know the meaning?

Within the past 2 days I have started receiving a "Network connection has been reset" error message when trying to purchase new apps or updating already purchased apps. Does anyone have better insight than I into its meaning and purpose? Thanks!

+I have dial up so i don’t know if this might be causing the problem, is there anyway to fix this?+
Sounds like the dial=up connection is dropping. My advice is to get it from a friend's house that has high speed internet. Put the iTunes Setup.exe file on a USB memory stick, take it to your PC and drag it to the desktop. Then run the install.

  • TS1424 network connection has been reset

having trouble downloading songs from itunes on my computer.  I keep getting an error that reads "network connection has been reset".

I'm sorry i can't be of help but i can relate because I'm having the same problem.
The error message occurs when I login to buy music and says:
"We could not complet your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure you network connection is active and try again."
I'm having no internet problems at all... maybe this error is due to the recent patch/update? i bought music a couple days ago and was fine, and now I can't log in. HELP!

  • TS1424 What do you do when you get an error message that says "Network connection has been reset"?

I tried to purchase a song through iTunes just now, and received the above error message about the network connection being reset. I also can't download to iTunes several Apps that have been purchased on my iPad and iPhone. I am using a PC with Windows 7.  Thoughts?  Thank you.

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

  • Cannot connect to the iTunes store. The network connection was reset.

My iTunes has been messed up since August 17th. I am getting the error message; "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." I am having no issues connecting to the internet or even receiving my podcasts. It just won't download my TV shows or let me shop. I have contacted Hewlett Pack. about this and iTunes/apple. No one seems to have an answer for me. I have disabled my firewalls, norton, done msconfig, allowed iTunes, everything. I am very frustrated and so are others that seem to be having this same problem. We need a genius!! Please help!

I suspect a location-driven problem here. I live in SHanghai, China - as does the poster above! I have this problem on three different computers using three different ISPs.
Anybody got a suggestion? Tried firewalls, turning off virus production, reinstalling iTunes, putting phobos.apple.com and such in the permitted list, all sorts of stuff, to no avail. And Apple help support just bounces me around - I've interacted via email with three people, finally graduated to a real person, and they sent me back to email when the usual "reboot your machine and reinstall iTunes, then turn off virus protection" didn't work.

  • The Network connection was reset everytime on different networks.

    Hello,
my problem has been exasperating as I have wanted to get my podcasts on to itunes for sometime. The first thing I did was suggested was run it through the feed validator that gave me the thumbs up and I thought everything would run smoothly. Sadly I have been getting a hard time going through the first phase.
Everytime I try to run my RSS feed through the submit podcast it works at it for a while and then comes up with the "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset."
So at first I thought it was my computer and my home network. I disabled the firewalls and my anti-virus software and still received the same answer. I then checked my internet speed and the website gave that the double thumbs up as well.
Next I contacted one of my subscribers and asked if they could check out their feeds. Apparently my RSS feeds from my website work well and they are indeed alerted when we bring a new show out.
I also contacted my Website Host asking them about the status of the server and they said everything is going great. Next I asked a friend if he could try to submit the podcast through iTunes and he received the same thing.
I have spent many hundreds of hours producing radio drama in a podcast format but now I am able to go through any RSS feeder except itunes. What on earth can I do about it?

The feed looks OK and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes; so one of two things is happening.
    1. We've seen instances where a feed which worked elsewhere wouldn't work with the Store itself (which is a different matter from the iTunes Application when you subscribe). This appears to mean that the server is not responding properly to requests from the Store, though I've never seen an explanation for this. Only the people running the server can sort that out, by looking at the logs. I don't know how likely it is that this is the explanation.
    2. There may be a temporary problem with the submissions process: this is not unknown. You could try this alternative URL:
    https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast
but if that doesn't work you could leave it for a day or so and try again.
