Subpixel hinting: all four filters are wrong.

Hi all,
I've been troubling with webpages that has dark background and white or gray fonts, they always seem a little
blur and uneven because the lcd screen had something to do with decreased font width.
However when I tried to setup a subpixel rendering config for freefont2, it seems that all four filter are not right for
my monitor, including RGB, BGR, VRGB, VBGR. Althoght RGB had the clearest edge in four, fonts still has slight
green edges.
Does this mean that my monitor have a mixed positioning for the color pixels (ie, not on the same column) ?
Or does freetype2 offer more filters that are not mentioned in the wiki to support subpixel rendering for such monitors ?

Off the cuff, I would say "buy a decent monitor".
What is the model of your monitor? We ("we" being the Internet) should make a list of these bad models somewhere
The only way I've heard of, to get rid of the red/green/blue ("RGB") tinge is to *not* use subpixel rendering, unfortunately.
You could try different rendering methods, e.g. ubuntu and infinality in the AUR, to see if they make it bearable.

I'm running iTunes 11.1.5 under Mavericks 10.9.2. Because I have a very large music collection I keep it on an external drive. I have six recorded lectures I'd like to sync with my iPad. How do I create a new playlist based on the recordings on the external drive? All four New Playlist options are currently not selectable. I know it can be done because I've done it before years ago but have forgotten how.

Hi Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo . Then go to music click on play list and try to make one. Cheers Brian

All of a sudden iPhone 4 says that all my passwords are wrong??

The iPhone 4 is my second iPhone and it's been at least three years I've had iPhones...so not a new phone. I might not be an apple whiz but I can normally figure out an issue with searches or restarting the phone, done all that. What has happened is all of a sudden I go to check and reply to an email, it says my email password is incorrect, I went to settings and checked it..still says incorrect. But also now my other email account is also wrong according ton the phone..but it's not. Then I noticed i had some app updates, so it makes you sign in..now it says that password is wrong too. These are all accounts and passwords that have existed for a long time. Any ideas? It is current on updates.

My screen is messed up. All the colors are wrong. Blue is yellow, red is teal, and so on. No clue what happened or how to fix it. All my apps are this way and the wallpaper picture is totally messed up.

My grandson was playing around with my mouse and changed the display on everything. Things that are usually blue are now gold, red is now teal, etc. I can't figure out what he did or how to correct it. I went to system preferneces but nothing is seeming to work. Any clue what to do?

Basically... try the following...
Press the Control-Option-Command-8 key combination. This is actually a feature of Universal Access that you can toggle.

Probably in the wrong bit mode. Look at the tab above your canvas and see what number is in that tab. If it is anything other than 8 bit odds are some filters are not available.

I am using Photoshop as external editor but can't use all the filters

I have just started using Aperture and have set-up photoshop CS2 as the external editor. I'm trying to add film grain to some of my images using the artistic filters. If I open one of my RAW (EOS 5D) images in Bridge once open in CS2 all the filters are available for use.
If I select a RAW image in Aperture and use the open with external editor feature, once the image is launched in CS2, half the filters are unavailable. Why is this and how do I over come the problem? Is it because Apertur opens the file in a funny format?

a few filters will (or have already) changed in cs3, however most remain the same in terms of 8 vs 16 bit. filters who are based on the rgb channels will be "grayed out" in the filters menu if an image has 16bit colours (regardless of tiff or psd of course).

Perhaps the PDF files are corrupted.
Hit the command key and spacebar, a blue Spotlight in the upper right hand corner appears, now type Preview and press return on the Preview program.
Now you can try opening the PDF's from the file menu and see what's going on.
If they are corrupted, perhaps they are trojans from your Windows PC or gotten from a bad location online.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the possibly infected folder.

Hi all, i have this issue, one of the guys are complaining in China:
"All FAX sent to China vendors are wrong but it's OK if the FAX receiver is oversea of China."
i did a test for other faxes in USA and it worked fax, email,, this is the only guy who is complaining for sending faxes in China

Could be "The Recipient value" be wrotte wrongly (the fax number)?
This is the format they are usnig for fax number into SCOT tcode:
CN XXX-XXX-XXXXX 5 numbers at the end ..
CN XXX.XXX.XXXX 4 numbers at the end
CN XXX-XXXXXXXX 8 numbers at the end (only 1 "-").

Go here and select "Reset your password." You will receive an email message with a link that bypasses the questions. You will then be able to select and answer the questions again.

The easiest thing to start with is to reset the Eraser Tool.
Right click on the Eraser icon in the tool options bar and then click on Reset Tool.

You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes. The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod to discourage it's use as a device for mass file sharing. However there is a manual (free) method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

We can't know. You have not provided any relevant technical info about your system, image modes, image types, the workspace/ menu set and so on. Yeah, it's some Mac, but then what?

I understand you are having some issues with iTunes on your MacBook. You may want to isolate the issues further by testing to see if they persist in a new user account:
