Subscribe to Outlook published ICS calendar ?

I am trying to subscribe to an Outlook ICS calendar. This works fine on a PC with outlook, but I am an unable to subscribe on ipad or iphone ("Cannot verify account information") Thanks for feedback!

I was asking about Windows Outlook 2010, not Outlook for Mac 2011. I know about Outlook for Mac's deficiencies... all too well

  • Publish ics calendar to icloud NOT MobileMe

I downloaded an ics file and imported it to iCal. I want to publish it to iCloud so I can see it on all my devices but the only option I have on iCal is to publish it to MobileMe (or a private server) but there is no option for iCloud. I used to have MobileMe but iCloud now syncs my calendars and has done it ever since it was released months ago. This is the same issue on both of my Macs.

According to your signature you are running Leopard: is this correct? You need Lion to work with iCloud - you won't be able to do anything with Leopard.

  • Import .ics calendar to ical

I have a class calendar that is an .ics file.  I have the url, but do not know how to import it into ical.
    Can someone help me out?

If it is a live link all you have to do is tap it. If not mail yourself the url and it should become live. Else wise the steps are as follows from the manual.
“Subscribe to a calendar. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then tap Add Account. Tap Other, then tap Add Subscribed Calendar. Enter the URL of the .ics file to subscribe to. You can also subscribe to an iCalendar (.ics) calendar by tapping a link to the calendar.”

  • How to Subscribe to Outlook Calendar in Group WIKI Calendar

Ok, here's what I've been trying to figure out how to do for about a year.  Our small office uses PC's with Outlook as our Calendar.  We are not on Exchange Server.  We are using Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server ver. 10.6.8. I'm trying to figure out a way so that our office can look at one central calendar and see individual calendars for each of the users.  I don't want all the users to have their events/appointments on 1 calendar because then you can't tell whose event/appointment it is.   I've setup a Group WIKI and have activated the Calendar and have a group consisting of the attorneys assigned to the Group.  Outlook 10 can publish its calendar as to a webdav server.  In fact I'm able to subscribe to my Outlook Calendar once its been published in the iCal client on the Snow Leopard server.  It updates in both directions when changes are made.  The problem is that when I go into the Group WIKI Calendar, although I can create calendars there and then PUBLISH them so they can be Subscribed to in either iCal or in Outlook 2010, I can't figure out how to SUBSCRIBE to a webdav/caldav calendar, ie. the Outlook 2010 that's been published, in the WIKI Calendar.  Thanks for your help.

    Hello,
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the specific intricacy of your situation (a hosted domain at Outlook.com), and so do not know if indeed that is causal to your issues. But perhaps a workaround will be useful? For example, if you indeed use your hosted domain for your email, but create a true Outlook.com account for the use of only Calendar and Contact synchronization, then that might work?
You can find complete instructions here:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-10-Smartphone/How-To-OTA-Sync-BB10-and-non...
For your email account, you simply use the domain they are hosting, and for Contacts/Calendar, the true Outlook.com account that you create for that purpose.
    Good luck!

  • Can't subscribe to .ics calendar

    Hello,
First of all, sorry for my bad English.
I have published a calendar from Ical to my private server (Imac running 10.6.2). When I want to subscribe to that .ics file from an other computer (other Imac running 10.6.2), it fails. When I subscribe from a computer running OSX 10.4 or 10.5 there's no problem.
    This is the error:
*There was an error subscribing to the calendar.*
*The data downloaded from http://server.name.lan/calendars/name.ics isn’t valid.*
I think the problem has to do with the server settings. But I don't know for sure and I don't know how to solve. The server is a Xserve running 10.5 server. For some reason Ical have permission top place the .ics file, but he can't acces is anymore. The permission settings are oke, everybody on the network can read and write the files.
I could send the errors if someone need them to help.
    Thanx

The authentication requested is a javascript form of the apple web interface to ical (Web server -> Sites -> Web Services -> Calendar). It is an apple application, i didn't set up any access control, if i go into the file system of http://www.my_site.com/ical (/Library/WebServer/Documents/my_site) there is nothing. It seems all saved under:
    bash-3.2# pwd
    /Library/CalendarServer/Documents/calendars/_uids_/08/46/084627AA-F6CF-481C-A0EF-421E878ADBCF/calendar
    bash-3.2# ls
    .db.sqlite a32259e5d9222e11c83f9b8487e0e041.ics
    bash-3.2#
and there must be an apple web application in order to interact with it, that is why i thought that the username and password defined in the publish calendar form were related to the apple authentication mechanism.
I'm using MacOSX server 10.6.2 on my own machine with my own domain. So what i'm doing is setting up the calendar web service on a test site, try to publish a calendar (from ical) to the location of the test site and then try to subscribe to the webcal:// ... link that he provides me.
If i try to access http://www.my_site.com/ical/calendar.ics or http://www.my_site.com/ical the apple web interface comes up asking me the credentials. If I enter the correct ones (defined in the publish form) i get the following message from the apple web interface:
    Mac OS X Server
    404: User does not exist
The path seems correct 'coze if subscribe from ical to webcall://www.my_site.com/ical/calendar.icsit tells me that:
There was an error subscribing to the calendar.
The data downloaded from http://www.my_server.com/ical/name.ics isn’t valid.
if i enter another path i will get this error:
A calendar wasn’t found on webcal://www.myserver/my_user/ical/mycalendar.ics. Check the URL.
If i would use an FTP application i would not find anything on that path because all is managed by the apple web service interface.
    Thanks !!

  • How to Read Outlook Exchange Shared Calendars on iPhone?

My company uses microsoft outlook exchange and I have been using iphone syncing with this outlook exchange calendar. Besides my own calendar, on the outlook exchange, I have access to another shared calendar. I want to be able to read this shared calendar on my iPhone but cannot figure out how to do it. Previously I learned from other postings that iPhone doesn't support it.
The new OS 3.0 support CalDav and I am wondering if this will enable me to read the shared calendars of my outlook exchange on my iPhone. Does anybody know how to do it? If the current firmware solely doesn't support it, might there are other ways to do it with supports of other apps? How about through Google Calendar? Or there are any apps can automatically copy the contents in the outlook exchange shared calendars to my outlook exchange calendar?
Does anybody have solutions? Many thanks!

The shared MS Exchange calendar is ICS format which SHOULD be able to be added as "Add Subscribed Calendar" in the Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Add Account/Other screens on the iPhone.
I'm tring to add a 2nd Exchange Outlook calendar only and need it to sync over the air.
Just can't find the correct way to get it entered to work? The link sent by Outlook (I'm running 2007) when you send the invite doesn't work and copy/paste to the server name is also a bust. Have tried direct copy paste, cutting off the webcal:// prefix, etc. Just won't authenticate.
No documentation that I can find on either Apple or MS site to validate the exact syntax required.
I can hit the https link provided by MS on my Safari iPhone browser after entering my MS Online ID and access the calendar online. And yes tried several of MS Online IDs that I have as UID/PW in the iPhone config screens without success.
A little more info on my config.

Have exchange acct as primary email with email contacts and calendar working
Have CalDAV link to my wife's Google calendar working
Have several other subscribed calendars (ics) working: US Holidays, AmericanHistory.com, and my TripIt profile.
I DO NOT want to use MobileMe to make this work. Life would be so easy if iPhone would just support multiple Exchange accts!
Funny thing I just noticed...spell check on forum IDs "iPhone" and "MobileMe" lol

  • Publish iCal Calendar using Tiger Server

I've been searching for a simple way to publish iCal calendars using Tiger Server. Here is what I need to do:
I need one user to be able to publish multiple "studio schedule" calendars to the Tiger server...and I need all the regular users in the studio to be able to subscribe to it so that they can see what work they have scheduled for the day. The regular users do NOT need to be able to make changes to the calendar...they only need to see it. (and print it if needed) Only the studio manager needs to be able to see and edit the published calendar.
I called Apple support for help on this one and they told me they would have to charge me $695 just for me to be able to get help on this....which surprised me because I'm just trying to use their software to do something it is supposed to be able to do! LOL The only other suggestion he could give was for me to look to the discussion groups here for help....so here I am!
    HELP!
    xServe G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   xServe G5

The first thing you need to do is set up WebDAV on the Server and share a directory. If you need instructions on how to that just follow this thread.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2793917#2793917
Once you've set up a shared directory you just publish the calendar to it from within iCal.
To do that, set up a calendar, select it and then select 'Publish' under the 'Calendar' menu. In the dialog box that opens up give the calendar a name without spaces. Select 'Publish on: a Private Server'.
In the field for 'Base URL:' fill-in the complete url to the server directory you set up previously using the WebDAV instructions. For example, if you set up a directory on the server called 'calendars' and the URL of the server is www.example.com you would put in 'Base URL: http://www.example.com/calendars'.
Now enter the 'Login' name and 'Password' for an account that has access to the shared directory as you've set it up using the WebDAV instructions.
Select the other options you want to enable in the dialog box and then click on 'Publish'. Now the calendar is published and available for others to subscribe to.
Now to subscribe to the calendar, just select 'Subscribe' under the 'Calendar' menu in iCal and enter the URL for the calendar. Using the example from above you would enter 'webcal://www.example.com/calendars/StudioWork.ics' for a calendar that was named 'StudioWork'.
You can also email the URL for the published calendar by selecting it in iCal and selecting 'Send Publish Email...' under the 'Calendar' menu in iCal.

  • Subscribing to address book and calendar

A common post seems to be about a bloke wanting to share a calendar with his wife but they are, of course, using tow different me accounts. Please don't suggest a Google calendar aproach and some third party application. We plunked down a hunk of change for all of this Apple technology with the belief that this was all thought out as we have come to expect from this company. So we can subscribe to and share Mobil Me calendars on our Macs but not on our iPhones. Any thoughts here. Is this going to be added in the iPhone 2.1 update?

You've highjacked someone else's question. In future, you should really create a new topic, otherwise it looks like you are trying to answer the original poster's question.
There are two different things here. Syncing details with Mobile Me is done under a Mobile Me account. No one can access the details without having the username and password. This allows you to sync these details with other computers you use.
Subscribing to a calendar is different. Someone publishes a calendar by placing it on the internet. This could be on a server (like Mobile Me) and placing it somewhere where anyone can access it. It could also be done by placing it somewhere that requires a username and password to access it. In this case someone subscribing to it needs to know the username and password. I do this for my work calendar. I publish it from Outlook on my work computer to my Documents folder on Mobile Me iDisk. I then subscribe to it in iCal on my home Mac. This allows me to see my work meetings from home.
What would be great would be if I could subscribe to the calendar on my iPhone but currently you cannot do that. It would also be good to be able to subscribe to it in the Mobile Me's calendar on the web.

  • Can another calendars events be integrated into a published web calendar?

Apologies in advance for my general ignorance about iCal. I am just starting to venture into the program.
I am the web coordinator for a nonprofit group, and am intending to use iCal to publish a web calendar for our site. I have subscribed to the US Holidays calendar, and am wondering if there is any way to get the holidays to show up in my group's published calendar (i.e. I want holidays on the web calendar, but don't want to have to plug them in myself). It is obvious how to integrate the calendars within the application -- just not sure if there's a way to make events from other calendars integrate into the published web calendar.
Sorry about the redundancy -- just want to be clear.
Also, is there anyway to embed these calendars into a web page.
    TIA,
    mel

    mel,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Just create a new Calendar Group, name it "Publish" for example, and drag the U.S. Holidays into that group.
The following information is taken from iCal Help.
    1. Choose File > New Calendar Group, or hold down the Shift key while clicking the Add + button in the lower-left corner of the iCal window, and then type a name for the group.
    2. Add existing calendars to the group by dragging them under the group name, or select the group name and choose File > New Calendar to create a new calendar within the group.
    3. Remove calendars from the group by dragging them out of the list.
You should be able to embed a link to the calendar in a web page, but I do not know how to provide a direct display of that calendar.
    ;~)

  • Can I publish a calendar twice -or- can I put a cal in two groups

I have two intertwined challenges. If I can solve both, fantastic. Help in solving even one would be appreciated.
    1. I want my assistant to have read-only access to my calendar, so he can see when I'm free and when not. However, he doesn't need to see what I'm busy with, only that I'm busy. So, I've grouped two relevant calendars and publish that group, having unchecked "Show titles and notes". He can check it on the web and only sees what is blocked out. Cool.
However, my wife would like to be able to subscribe to my calendar and I would like her to have access to the titles and notes. So, I'd like someway to publish my calendar twice, once without titles and notes and one with. Can't figure out how to do that.
    2. One of the calendars in the that group is my wife's calendar of family events, to which I subscribe. This works great in that my assistant doesn't try to schedule something during my kids' school performances, but since my wife subscribes to the calendar describe in (1), her events are coming back to her as part of my calendar. Yuck.
I suspect some version of being able to put a calendar in two groups would solve this, but am open to any solutions. Thanks.

Okay, I feel like an idiot replying to my own question, but I figured it out and bet it may not be that rare a problem. So, here is what I did. A bit convoluted, I admit. Perhaps someone can come up with a better way...
    1. Create calendar group called "Private" containing only calendars I input.
    2. Publish "Private" as "MyNamePrivate", set to show titles and notes. Only give that address to my wife.
    3. Subscribe to "MyNamePrivate" myself. Include it and my wife's calendar that I've subscribed to in a group called "MyName".
3.5 Check my wife's calendar so I see it.
    4. Publish "MyName", set to NOT show titles and notes. Give that address to my assistant, my dog, etc.
    5. Uncheck "MyName", so I'm not seeing events twice.

  • Script to set display name in iCS Calendar view to the LDAP CN

Script to set the display name in the Calendar view for iPlanet Calendar
Server(iCS) to the LDAP common name(CN)
By default, iCS uses a user ID(uid) based on an employee number, rather than on
an employee's first and last name, as the calendar ID(calid).
The current release of iCS (5.0 P2) does not create a display name for a
calendar when a user enables a calendar by logging in; by default, it will
list the calid again in the Display Name field of the Calendar view.
For example, if an employee has a calid of "12345," when you click the
Calendar tab to view the calendar, the Display Name will appear as follows:
    <P>
    12345 (12345)
    <P>
A problem arises when a user tries to subscribe to another user's calendar.
Although the search criteria are based on the calid and the Display
Name, the only information currently stored in the calendar database is the
calid. Therefore, users will be unable to subscribe to another
user's calendar unless they know the calid of that person. The next
patch release for iCS will remedy this problem by using common names(CNs) as
the Display Names. That is, the database will store the CN values
from LDAP for users, and the Calendar view will appear something as follows:
    <P>
    12345 (John Doe)
    <P>
Until this next release of iCS, there are two options to work around this
    problem.
    <P>
    <OL>
<LI>You can "provision" users by running the cscal
    administrative utility with the
    Display Name option.
    <P>
    OR
    <P>
<LI>If the user community already exists, you can use the sample Perl script
below to search through the calendars of users.
    <P>
Note: If a default calid exists that doesn't have a Display Name, the script
will search the LDAP directory to find a CN to set as the Display Name for

About your confuse about"case when 1=2 then "product_d"."name" else "calendar_d"."year" end".
You can try in your locale.
You will find they are different.
BASED ON THAT you have two table product_d and calendar_d AND they are related by one Fact table.
    THEN When you type in
"case when 1=2 then "product_d"."name" else "calendar_d"."year" end"
    AND
    "calendar_d"."year",
IT WILL SHOW U TWO different RESULTS.
I need to show year which its related product is not null. but I cannot use SHOW->SQL RESULTS->TYPE SOME "WHERE..." because I also need to use "constrain"..
That why I choose to use a case when function..
So, do you have any idea about this?
    Regards,
AnneWhy not use two filters in your request? Have something like this:
    product_d.name IS NOT NULL
    AND
    calendar.year IS PROMPTED?
...instead of using a CASE statement? This way you can have both filters show the way they should in a meaningful way.

  • Can't Subscribe Can't Create New Calendar

    All,
After using iCal with much success (and subscribing to calendars shared in www.icalx.com) suddenly I can't subscribe to any calendar (even those not from icalx) and I can't make a new calendar (even though I only have twelve). Even if I drag an ics file into iCal, it won't make a new calendar!
There's nothing wrong with the calendars from other places, as I tried subscribing to them from another machine.
Whenever I try subscribing or creating a new calendar, nothing happens. Even the progress bar for subscribing doesn't move! When I quit iCal and then restart it, there's a ghost calendar there either called "untitled" if I had previously tried creating a new calendar, or the name of the calendar I tried to drag in (although there is no data), or "Subscribed" but no data if I had previously tried to subscribe to a calendar.
Somebody please help me. I'm working with other people from other time zones and we rely on these things to work.
    Thanks!!

    Hi Benito,
What does it mean when a subscribed calendar is corrupted?
The files iCal uses to store the calendars (.ics files) are text files. (You can look at one by exporting a calendar from iCal and opening the .ics file with a text editor.) When you subscribe to a calendar you are copying the calendar file to your hard drive. If some information is missing in the file, or the data is ordered in the wrong way, this can lead to iCal not functioning properly.
The error could be on the server or your local copy, from what you write it's hard to tell. You could try subscribing to the problem calendar from another machine to see if it has the same problem.
The usual recommendation for a local calendar (one you created) with this problem is to export and then import the calendar. This means the calendar is re-created from scratch. You can't use this solution with a calendar you are subscribed.
    I hope this helps.

  • How do i automatically import ics calendar invitations from email into apple calendar?

how do i automatically import ics calendar invitations (sent from Windows computer - Outlook) from email into apple calendar?

From Calendar Help. The only two ways listed are using the Import command or a drag and drop.
    Import events into a calendar
If you want, create a new calendar for the events.Add or delete a calendar
Choose File > Import > Import.
Locate and select the calendar file that contains the events, and then click Import.
Choose the calendar you created or another calendar to add the events to.
You can also drag a .ics file to Calendar. The events in the file are added to the calendar that’s highlighted in the Calendar list.
You might be able to set up and Automator action to do it for you.

  • How to edit/publish a calendar from multiple computers?

In our small business we have up to three people doing scheduling using iCal. We would like to use our separate computers to edit/publish calendars. Right now, we can subscribe, but not publish calendars from multiple machines.
Is there a way to remotely log in to the Mac we publish the calendars on, or can we do this through the web?
Sorry if this has been covered before . . . thanks!

The only way I know to "log in" to another computer is through the Apple's sofware: Apple Remote Desktop (a bit overkill if all you want to do is edit a calendar)
It is not possible to edit another user's calendar, you can only sibscribe.
Perhaps a 3rd party will have this ability soon (Chronos is coming out with a major upgrade to their Group/Personal Organizer product.
DayLite by Market Circle is another product which may let you do what you want but it doesn't currently sync with iCal, thus you would lose all the extended functionality of iCal.
Sorry none of these meet your current needs,
Do look at CalTalk if you need to share calendars locally without publishing them to the web. (How do you share now?)
There are also some web based calendar programs (eg BaseCamp) but you have to always be connected to the web and pay a subscrition fee.
