Subscribe to Podcast/Subscribe to rss won't work on my iweb created sight.

Hello,
I am trying to get my podcast to sync up with itunes. I tried to make some changes to my original site, screwed it up, fixed it all but re-syncing. I have tried everything I can think both in itunes and iweb. At this point there isn't even a button where there used to be. As you can tell I am at a loss. Could someone walk me through it. I am getting really frustrated. I have mobileme. I tried going to the insert>button>subscribe to podcast button. I have tried to subscribe through itunes in the advanced>get podcast. I don't know what else to do. All the obvious solutions have been used up.

Same problems with my site. I have MobileMe also. RSS and Podcast subscription doesn't work at all.
Thanks for all advices.

    WOW!!!
Did you even read what i wrote?
I CANNOT MAKE THE ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION TO WORK
AND MSFT Billing is ignoring the Problem Report we have submitted!!!!!  We submitted the problem report more than a week ago and  MSFT Billing basically said
"it should work - but without a paid support plan, we cannot allocate someone to solve it"
Billing even forwarded it back to Azure Support, who then called me, walked me through the issue,  took screen shots - forwarded it back to Billing.
And Billing's solution was to cancel the subscription we had registered on the other account
And DO NOTHING about our issue.

I have the same problem, but don't expect Apple to help! I rang their help line and explained the situation and that the same experience is reported all over their forum and they would not assist unless I paid for a one year help subsciption.
This company has lost the plot! They create software that universally will not work then expect customers to pay to have it fixed. Technically I should walk straight into the nearest apple shop and ask for a refund, as the device is no longer fit for purpose!
Congratulations Apple for the best ant-promotional App on the market and your astounding lack of service ethos.

  • Menu buttons won't work after publishing iWeb site

Once i publish my site from iWeb and then go online to check the site, i try to navigate through my new site's pages by clicking each of the menu buttons at the top of the page. After I click one and the page changes, the menu buttons stop working and I can no longer navigate the site.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

The Actor page still has some graphc/object partially overlapping those two links in the navbar. You can see it by going to that page and typing Command +A (select all). I couldn't determine which graphic file it was from the Activity window.
You may have to create a second actor page and copy and paste each item, one at a time to from the old to the new and publish to see if you can isolate the culprit.

I was unable to download episodes from a season I purchased. It kept giving me the same "connection has been reset" error message. But I went and clicked on support under quick links in iTunes and it allowed me to start downloading from that screen. I didn't have to go into anything, it just automatically popped up that I had items to download and asked if I wanted to download them. I clicked on it, it prompted me for my password, and then started downloading them instantly.

  • Softproofing won't work Lightroom 4.1

I upgraded to Lightroom 4.1 yesterday and now softproofing won't work. It just shows a 50% gray block where the softproof picture should be. It worked OK in version 4.0. What happened?

I didn't think about switching profiles but just did based on your questions. It worked. When I switched back to the profile that didn't work, it also worked. Everything looks OK now. I don't know what happened but thanks for your response. If I have any other problems, I'll let you know.

Can you describe the profile you are trying to use? Where did it come from? What OS? Does this occur with all profiles or only this one?

  • 2 buttons won't work that were created exactly like a many others that work.

I am using Flash CS4 with actionscript 2 to create an interacitve portfolio.  I have 2 text buttons that work when I test them with "enable simple buttons." When I publish to IE these buttons won't work.  I have created over 50 buttons using the same methods, they all work.  Any idea what might be wrong?

I have attached an edited version which shows working buttons and the ones we are having trouble with.
If you publish this in IE, the only button that will work is the last one on the entry page ("Writing"). This is because I have deleted all the other info to reduce the file size
On the next page the "Blog Excerpts" and "English Notebook" links are the ones that have been configured but do not work.  The "Home" page on top does work.  As you can see, the buttons have all been created the same way.
Thanks for being willing to help work this out.

  • Subscribing to podcast in iWeb does not work???

I created and exported to iWeb a music podcast using Garage Band. The podcast correctly imported to my iWeb website, so you can visit the site and play the podcast their. This process also creates a "subscribe to podcast" button on the iWeb website, which is supposed to allow visitors to click it and the podcast will automatically be added to their iTunes podcasts library. Well, this partially works, that is, an entry IS made in the iTunes podcasts library, but the entry does not work. It appears to reference the full text page of the podcasts webpage instead of the actual music podcast, so when you try to play the podcast within iTunes you get an error message.
Any ideas? There does not appear to be a way to correctly point the iTunes podcast entry to the actual music podcast on the website instea of the text main page.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the offer to help. Here is the website:
    http://web.mac.com/mgimbel/iWeb/Site%204/Podcast/Podcast.html
I'm not sure how to find the RSS file to send. ??
In case you're not familiar with the how the process is SUPPOSED to work between Garage Band, iWeb and iTunes, it should be a simple, 3-step AUTOMATED process:
    1. in Garage Band, you choose "send podcast to iWeb". This exports the current project to an iWeb page as a podcast. (This works)
    2. in iWeb, you publish the newly created page containing the podcast. I use .Mac, so my pages are automatically published to my .Mac account. (This also works)
    3. On the webpage at the website containing the podcast, there is a button to "subscribe" to the podcast. When you click this, it is supposed to create a podcast entry in your iTunes library, under My Podcasts. (This is where the process stops working: the entry is created in iTunes, but it does not work - i.e., it does not appear to point correctly to the podcast itself, but instead to the webpage in general that contains the podcast, and iTunes can not identify the podcast from this.)
Hopefully, that helps. Sorry if you were already familiar with the process.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

  • Subscribe to podcast feeds in iTunes from Mozilla Firefox

In Mozilla Firefox, how can I add iTunes as an application to subscribe to podcast feeds, so that it shows as an option in the drop-down menu of the preview page? I've selected the iTunes.exe file through the "Choose Application" option, iTunes shows as an option, I select it and when I click on "Subscribe Now" iTunes opens but it does not add the new subscription. I am running Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, Mozilla Firefox 3.6.12, iTunes 10.1.0.54 Thank you!

You can add directories to podcast application to use for searching.
Or you can enter the RSS url to add new podcasts.
No directory has ALL the podcasts out there. You need to search and add.

  • Subscribing to podcast without itunes

    Hey everyone
I produce a podcast, which is going really well! I'm starting to do some advertising and I'm creating a webpage that explains how to get the show. I've shown a option where the user can get the show without itunes but I don't know the best way to do this. I was wondering if anyone has a program or website that has a simple way for windows users to subscribe to podcast?
    Thanks

  • Input: iTunes Podcast Subscriber Navigation

For iTunes Staff or anyone that has this information:
Can you provide any guidance as to predominant iTunes Podcast Usage/Experience/Navigation? We've had a successful podshow - consistently in top rankings. Yet, we want to make sure we're aware of key data that might help us and others who bother to read your response , optimize our navigation for users.
    Here are my ?s:
    1. How are most subscribers entering iTunes?
    - external URL redirect?
    - podcast producer external link to their subscriber page?
    - from iTunes existing music customers?
    - etc?
    2. Once in iTunes, what is the typical navigation?
    - from main podcast page to . . .?
    - what % use "browse" as function to find podcast?
    - what % use "categories"?
    - what % use "top podcasts" in that category?
    - what % use keyword search in the left nav bar?
    - what % use the Search feature at the top?
    4. What resources available (reliable/recommended) to understand - from Apple iTunes podcast team - current best practices to optimize for aforementioned navigation, and/or for future 'roadmap' of iTunes podcast service (given recent changes in categories and apparent current continued modifcations)?
    Thanks!
    Best Regards,
    David

    Maybe this will help: http://www.ehow.com/how5151978update-itunes-podcast-info-feedburner.html
Changing the feed link in iWeb requires you to edit the source code of your published blog page. Here is how:
    1. Publish your site. Using the Finder or your FTP client navigate to your published site. In there should be a folder named after your Podcast.
    2. In that folder is a file ending in .html that is named just like the folder. Open the file in an HTML editor like Coda or TacoHTML.
    3. Search for <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS". Following the last parameter (title="RSS"), you will find something like href="...". The three dots represent the path to your feed file. Replace that with the Feedburner URL.
That should do it! Good Luck!

  • Batch Subscribe to Podcast (add multiple Feed URLs at once)

Is there any way to Subscribe to many podcasts at once given their feed urls? I currently have an Excel file containing the feed URLs
The "Subscribe to Podcast..." only allows entering a single URL. I have tried various delimiters (<newline>, ",", ";", etc.) to no avail.
Is there any other sort of feed import option I am missing?
    Thanks

A workaround I have resorted to is making .url Internet Shortcut files for each feed URL, selecting multiple shortcuts at once and then dragging them into the iTunes Podcasts list.
I've created a simple python script to take a text file containing URLs and generate an internet shortcut for each:
    https://github.com/protonmesh/Utilities/blob/master/URLsToShortcuts.py
If you know of a better way, please share!

  • Is "Advanced|Subscribe to Podcast..." better than via iTMS?

Am I right in thinking that if I subscribe to a podcast via the subscribe button I do not link directly to the podcast's feed but to an Apple server that redirects me to the feed, and that there is a significant delay between a podcast appearing on the feed and it's appearing on Apple's server, whereas if I subscribe manually via "Advanced|Subscribe to Podcast..." I link directly to the feed and hence get my podcasts all the sooner?
    Gosh what a long sentence.
    Gordon

    Sometimes.
Apple runs an extra review pass on XML feed files that can result in a podcast no longer updating in the store. Maybe the author adds an iTunes tag incorrectly or something like that.
Also, Apple does appear to cache some of the more popular podcasts. This does often result in a delay in seeing new podcasts compared to using a direct Subscribe URL. But it can also mean that those podcasts download much faster for you since they come from an Apple sponsored location.
For a couple podcasts I now subscribe to both the iTMS feed and the podcaster's direct feed. When the iTMS feed starts working again, I'll unsubscribe from the direct feed.
The bottom line is that podcasts come from a variety of sources and you need to check the podcaster's web site now and then to make sure your feed hasn't fallen behind for some reason.

  • Why no "Subscribe to Podcast" capability in Apple TV 2.0?

I want to be able to subscribe to a podcast from my new Apple TV 2.0 (just purchased this week) and have it kept up to date for me without me having to have a subscription to it from iTunes on one of my computers. I am disappointed that this capability seems to be missing from Apple TV 2.0. I know for other media you don't want the Apple TV to be the only place it resides, but to me, these podcasts are ephemeral. I watch them, I delete them, and I don't need backups of them. If something went wrong with the Apple TV and I lost some podcasts that were on there, I don't care. I primarily got the Apple TV to simplify obtaining and watching these podcasts, so the lack of this capability is (almost) enough to make me want to return it ...

I agree completely. The whole point of podcasts is that you subscribe to them, forget it, then return later....voila! You have new content waiting for you. The fact that you have to keep going to the podcast directory or favorite podcast list to download the newest episode ruins the whole idea.
The way Apple TV deals with podcasts is analogous to having to call up the New York Times every time you want the newest paper delivered. What gives??
I'm aware of the fact that I can subscribe to podcasts in iTunes and set my ATV to sync with my laptop, but isn't ATV supposed to be a standalone device now? My whole reason for purchasing an ATV after the update was that I thought this was a way I could free up some HD space on my laptop and keep all the big media files like video podcasts on the AppleTV alone. I'm pretty disappointed that I can't.
I should have stuck to what I was doing before: using Miro to aggregate podcasts, then plug my laptop into the plasma with a DVI to HDMI cable.
Apple please fix this in version 2.1 so I don't feel like I just wasted $330!

Not seeing the GET icon in the podcast window along the shaded(gray) podcast names in the window containing a subscribed to podcast.  Now if I click on one of these podcast it will download.  Typical behavior was that I would see a handful of podcast and if I choose to I could select GET ALL or individually select GET to download independent podcast.
