Subscribed Calendars - Get rid of Read Only ?

Hello,
I come to you guys as my last chance to solve my problem I'm trying to make a shared calendar with my office co-workers. We're trying to share a calendar and be able to edit it (all of us!).
So, I tried to publish a calendar I've made on my iCal, and to make my co-workers subscrite to it (Published on our company server, so not on .mac).
Seeing that my co-workers was unable to edit the calendar, I tried to modify the UNIX rights of the file .ics and its folder. Even with chmod applied to "write" for everyone, i'm still unable to edit the calendar from any mac other than mine. That's sad :s
Don't know if you have a solution to that. That would be great !

That's the nature of publish/subscribe, unfortunately.
If you want to edit, and keep this an all-Mac experience, you need the add-on software BusySync (http://www.busymac.com/), or maybe OSX Leopard Server with all Leopard clients would do it too. I say "maybe", because I currently have OSX Leopard server, but all OSX Tiger (10.4) clients. Somebody that's running all Leopard machines might be able to chime in and tell us if this works under that version. There are more features in Leopard iCal than Tiger iCal.

How to get rid of Reading List and why my add page going in there?

My + on the toolbar is now adding pages to the reading list instead of the bookmark.. How do i change that/get rid off reading list? I want stuff to go to bookmark. I tried to change the setting in in Safari>Preferences>Bookmark but I dont have a bookmark option.. Very annoying. I updated to 10.9.1 version. Help!

After 10.5.3 update, Time Machine disk getting set to read-only

"The Further Adventures of Time Machine..."
Since applying the 10.5.3 update, Time Machine (or something) seems to be randomly setting my backup disk (external Western Digital "My Book Studio Edition" 500GB) to read-only which, of course, brings Time Machine backups to a halt. I can generally just restart my MacBook Pro and all is well again but then after a few more hourly backups, it will go back to read-only status again. There's a couple of things about this that are odd:
1) Even if I open "Get Info" and try to reset the permissions on the drive, I'm locked out of doing so even though I'm the admin. What's even odder (more odd?), my user and "staff" show read & write but about the user name list, it states "You can only read"!?
2) I have this disk partitioned and even the partitions are read-only. Disk Utility reports the entire disk is locked.
Like I said, this has only start happening since 10.5.3 update.

Also, the time machine back up drive had been smooth sailing since I hooked it up. Never had an ounce of problems until 10.5.3.
Format is Mac OS Extended.

Can't get rid of Reading List side pane

I turned my computer on and brought up Safari.
I didn't realize that the wifi wasn't turned on.
It said that I could click on Reading Lists to read pages without being connected.
I clicked on it just for fun and the Reading List Side Panel came up on the left.
There was one website there and I hit Clear All.
Now I can't get rid of the side panel even though I'm now connected to the internet.
I can't seem to find a close button anywhere.
It is taking up a huge part of my already small notebook screen.
Please help!

Can't get rid of Reader DC

I have tried to get this one answered before with no success, here goes:
How do I keep Acrobat Reader DC from installing itself over 9, 10, or 11, no matter which one I have and select to NEVER AUTO UPDATE, it still installs itself like a cold virus. I reinstalled 11 today and withing minutes, as I double clicked another Acrobat document, DC popped up its ugly head and had already installed itself stealthily without permission. time to say the heck with Adobe and go to Nova Reader.. I do not like anyone forcing crap on me I do not want, 11 was just fine, the controls of DC look like they are done with crayons by a 3-year-old trying to make it look like an apple product.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this??
I have gone through this every day for over a month now and cannot shake DC. does anyone else have this experience? I HATE DC, cannot get this through to the update software, I want to keep 11 until the interface of DC becomes adult like.

Did you actually uninstall it? If Adobe Reader things still come up when opening a PDF file, this looks like it was not correctly uninstalled.

Getting rid of "Reading Untagged Document" dialog

I scan documents to PDF soley for personal use. What can I do to forever banish the "Reading Untagged Document" dialog:
It is driving me to distraction since it ALWAYS somes up if I open a PDF created from a scan.

I do found the same symptom in ALi 6.5 and above portal. At first I thought it was browser security settings problem. But after trying Firefox/Opera/Chrome/SeaMonkey/Chrome with no luck, I think it's nothing to do with browser. It should be server side settings or gatewaying issue.

Touch3G, ios 5.1.1, how to get rid of "reading List" in the bookmarks section and history file in reading list no longer works.

Since downloading 5.1.1, my Touch 3G has "Reading List" in the Bookmarks section and the "history" tab no longer shows anything.
How do I delete "reading list" in the bookmarks section? Very disappointed to have this pushed on me without warning. TIA....

Shift Calendar model in Read-only mode

I found in this forums that someone has been used the Shift Calendar model. But in my BPA, when I create a new Shift Calendar, the model is read-only and couldnt do anthing on that. How could I enable this usage?

X-APPLE-DEFAULT-ALARM to remove default alarm from iOS 6 subscribed calendar events?

After upgrading to iOS 6, all events in subscribed calendars get a default alarm. Is there a directive inside the .ics stream that can stop this from happening?
Searching the web I found an “X-APPLE-DEFAULT-ALARM:TRUE” directive but it doesn’t seem to work and I can’t find any Apple documentation on it. Can you direct me to the full list/documentation of iOS 6 supported “X-APPLE“ extensions to iCalendar?

OK, so I have had this issue for the past several months. I think it all started when I upgraded to ML from SL and migrated my calendars and contacts to iCloud. That was a couple months ago. But now I am running 10.8.2, and about two weeks ago I upgraded my iOS devices to 6.0.1.
I don't seem to be having any issues with events that I create now, but all those old events that were migrated to iCloud a couple months ago, many of those sound alerts on the iOS devices even though there was no alert defined when the event was originally created. I have always had alerts off by default both in iCal and on the iOS devices.
So here's the question: is there a way to go through and disable all these spurious event alerts? I've been disabling them as the event reminders come up, but it's irritating. It would be nice if there was a way to turn them off all in one shot somehow.

Read Only condition on RadioGroup item

I have a RadioGroup item on my page that is conditionally set to read only (using a function in the read-only condition type). I have a process that is updating the table with the value of the radio item
ie. update table
set column_name = :P1_RADIO
It seems that when the item gets set to read-only (from the condition), the page value of that item is blank, which in turn sets my DB column value to blank. Why is that? It only seems to work that way on Radiogroups that are readonly.

Anybody know why setting a radiogroup item to read-only (thru read-only condition in properties) makes the value blank?

When trying to save a file under Excel 2008, ver 12.3.3, with extension .xlsx or .xlx, I am told it can't be saved because it is "read only." How do I change the file from read only?

Save the file as a new name. Close and Open the new file.
Most likely when a file transfer happens, Office makes the file 'Read Only'.
If you have two opened files with the same name, the last opened file will be 'Read Only'.
