Subscribing to my iCloud iCal on employer's laptop

I have an iCloud account, I've successfully moved my personal calender from "on my mac" to the cloud and can see it on both my iMac and my iPhone. Now I would like to subscribe to my personal iCal calender to see it on my employer's MacBookPro(os10.6.8). This laptop belongs to my employer but is in my possession 24/7/365. Is it possible to see my personal home calender from the iCloud on this laptop's iCal? How do I do that?

Easy: You can browse to iCloud.com and login, all iCloud modules can be accessed that way.
Not so easy: would be to upgrade your employers laptop from 10.6.8 to a newer OS X (current version is 10.9.1) and use iCloud as you do on your iMac.
Good but not cheap: Soho Organizer will allow the use of iCloud on 10.6.8

My coworkers and I share numerous calendars using icloud. Recently we have began to receive a deluge of email notifcations for every change, tweak, or addition made to the shared calendars. We have been using shared icloud ical calendars for over 8 months and have NEVER had this issue until it started earlier this week. Help! I started getting this same problem today. I received hundreds of emails. In one case, a single event on the calendar was updated, but it sent me notifications for every event on the calendar.
I've never turned on the notifications for calendar changes. I tried to disable it to no avail. I went into iCloud calender and the option for change notification was not checked. Just to be sure, I checked it, waited, and then unchecked it hoping to reset a setting. It had no effect. Eventually, I had to unsubscribe from the calendar.
Anybody know if Apple rolled something out?

Why are the backups to iCloud much smaller than those to my PC? I subscribed to extra iCloud space expecting for the backups to be the same size. Now I have more unused iCloud space I don't need, can I get a refund?

Backups to my PC were almost 30 G bytes each time, backup to the Icloud is only 1.4 G bytes. Expecting the backups to be about the same size I subscribed to extra Icloud space. Can I stop my Icloud pace subscription amd get a refund? I have all this extra space and have no use for it. It does not appear there is a way to use this space for other storage purposes.

You can't merge iCloud backups. You could create a current backup of your phone, then restore the backup of your old phone to it and save any data you want to keep, the restore it again to the current backup. Some of your old recovered data could then be synced back to your new phone (such as photos), but other data cannot (such as text message conversations). You may not want to save any of your old data but restoring the backup would be the only way to see what's there.

Is this no longer the case? It seems that way for me. I just subscribed to an internet calendar that lists all the events at the Aspen Music Festival this summer. It appeared "On My Mac", but I had no trouble moving it to iCloud, and once I did so, all its events display on my calendar at iCloud.com as well as all my other devices where I've activated my iCloud account.

How to reverse iCloud/iCal sync fiasco?

I can't reverse iCal to not sync with iCloud. Installed new OS and tried (and hated) iCloud for calendar data. How do I restore old settings and keep the iCloud from messing w my iCal? I would prefer iCal data only on my MacBook, but can't seem to go back, or to delete the iCloud/ICal sync settings.

I've been having the same issue, but I think I've figured it out.
Select a calendar from the list, go File > Export > Export... (not "iCal Archive...", just "Export..."), and save the file. Do this for all your calendars, then disable iCloud, and open each of your calendars with iCal, always selecting "New Calendar" as the destination.
I know, it's time-consuming, and maybe there's a more elegant way, but it works.

I am having a problem that I cannot find addressed. My old computer TOTALLY died - it won't even turn on to deauthorize, back-up, and all those other steps given to transfer my music. All the info I have found, says you can authorize up to 5 devices etc, but so far, nothing is working. I just want to transfer my library, and don't have hours to spend on this. I have searched and searched, and really sincerely need help, and please - only helpful comment - yeah, obviously I am missing something some where. My iCloud iCal shows up a wrong time

My iCloud iCal shows up a wrong time on the left side (in the Week-Mode) - but when I click on a event, the time i right!
The problem is the actual time - that shows up is 9 hours back (11 am - in fact 8 pm)

The problem here is iCloud. The timezones are not correct. For example for Buenos Aires, Argentina the timezone have one our shift then the correct time. For other zones the timezone is really bad.

Yes - to a point. iCloud provides a simple gallery in the form of 'Photo Journal' - uploading of photos from iPhoto to web pages hosted on iCloud, but only from iOS devices and not so far from Macs; and the photos are compressed to a size adequate for online viewing but are not available in full resolution as with Gallery. Apple have provided a sample album here.
Apart from that you would need to find a third-party solution - this page examines some options:

Subscribed Cal on iCloud

I previously subscribed to a calendar from Team Snap and that calendar is under my "iCloud" calendar entry in Calendar. The benefit to this that because it's flagged as "iCloud" and not "On My Mac" in the settings, I only have to add it once and then it populates to all of my machines (Web, iOS, OS X).
Unforatunetly, now, everytime I try to resubscribe to updated calendars, it always wants to put it down under SUBSCRIPTIONS and it grays out iCLOUD as a location option. It only has On My Mac as an option which means I can't just add it once and have it populate out to all my devices. Much more cumbersome.
What am I doing wrong? How do I add a subscribed calednar to iCloud and not On My Mac?

No, turning time zone support on will give you some options which could cause what you are seeing, I was merely trying to rule that out as a possibility. Click on your name in the main iCloud.com window and check your time zone is set to the same zone as your mac uses in System Preferences > Date & Time > Time Zone.

If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

Did you turn photo stream on in Settings>iCloud? If so, you will only get photo stream photos from the last 30 days as earlier photo stream photos are no longer in iCloud.

I have just launched icloud on my windows 7 laptop, and stupidly followed the instructions and added my outlook email contacts which come up as email addresses to my whole icloud contacts. So, there are now 1000's of contacts which have now appeared on my iphone.

For your contacts go to settings on your phone - mail contacts and calendars - scroll down to contacts and change display order to the one you want ( you can also change sort order, but ususally people prefer last name first and see if that is what you have).
For your yahoo emails go on your computer open outlook
In Outlook 2010, choose File > Accounts.
Click account settings and confirm the command by clicking "Add and remove accounts or change existing connection settings."
Select account and click "Change."
Click "Advanced."
Click "More Settings."
Click the "Advanced" tab.
Enter "7" in the box to the right of "Remove from server after."
Click OK.
Close Account Settings.
If you have outlook 2007
In Outlook 2007, choose Tools > Account Settings.
Click the account you wish to edit and then click Change.
Click the "More Settings" button.
Select the Advanced tab located across the top of the window.
Select the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" option.
Select the "Remove from server after" option.
Enter 7 in the box to the right of "Remove from server after."
Click OK.
Close Account Settings.

Subscribed calendars to iCloud?

In my multiple iOS mobile devices I have the US Holidays added as a "Subscribed Calendar"
I would like them to appear also on my browser based iCloud Calendar (https://www.icloude.com/#calendar).
There is no way to subscribe to calendars for the iCloud App (Apple please consider this) so I am missing all these events there.
However I was hoping that since they appear on my iPhone/Pad they would get synchronized with the Windows desktop iCloud calendar.
That doesn't seem to be happeninng, however. Is there anyway to get the "ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics" calendar subscription to work on the PC desktop?

Thanks for all your efforts, but I am NOT using Outlook. I am running the iCloud Calendar web page as a "App" in Google Chrome.
Works like a charm and is beautifully sync'd with changes I make there or on an iOS device. Indeed changes appear everywhere within less than 5 seconds typically.
I have everything I want on the mobile devices, I just can't get the US Holidays to show up in the web based browser iCloud window, as there seems to be no mechanism to push such additional calendars into the cloud, and the mobile devices do not seem to sync anything other than their "native" calendar.
Thus I am trying to get this holiday calendar to show up only on the web based browser viewed (on a PC) iCloud Calendar.
