Subscription (monthly) to call New Zealand

I have a monthly subscription to call land lines and mobiles from the UK to New Zealand. Skype are still taking money from my Skype credit despite the subscription being renewed on Saturday.
If I don't find someone from Skype I will use Viber and try to complain to the telly/com ombudsman

Hi, greumb, and welcome to the Community,
Please check  that your subscription covers calls to the Swedish number you are trying to reach - some subscriptions cover calls to land lines (also known as fixed lines), for example, and not mobile numbers.  If it does, please contact Skype customer service to report this issue.
Regards,
Elaine

  • Hi. Im currently living in New Zealand. Just bought an iphone 5s yesterday from a shop called Parallel Brand Imports in Auckland. When i came home i called apple to check whether my phone is locked or not and they said that its locked to US Verizon even t

When i came home i called apple to check whether my phone is locked or not and they said that its locked to US Verizon even though when i checked on iphoneimei it said sim status unknown. I put my 2degrees (NZ carrier) in today and it worked fine. I got into the settings and turned off the automatically part of carrier and there were 3 options for me to choose 2degrees vodafone and telecom. Because of that, im quite confused abt whether my phone is locked or not since im from vietnam so i want to know if i can use vietnamese sim card when i go home. Thanks for your help@verizon

Hi tranvietanh - I appreciate you contacting us all the way from New Zealand! I can confirm that the iPhone 5s and all of our other 4G LTE device are not SIM locked. As the carrier in New Zealand may not support the exact same frequencies and cellular bands that we use on our network, we are unable to support the device if using a 3rd party SIM.

  • Traveling to New Zealand for 2 months

I live in Maryland and will be vacationing in New Zealand Feb and March.  I want people to be able to call me with a Maryland area code and I want to call them showing a MD area code on their caller ID. I will only be calling the US and callers will only be calling me in NZ.
Question:  Do I go to the USA choice to get a Skype Number or do I go to the New Zealand choice?  If the USA callers call my 410 (MD) Skype Number, there should not be a phone charge to them.  Seems more likely that I chose the USA choice, but I want to be sure before purchasing.

    Id suggest:
    1. You buy Unlimited World, it gives free calling to landlines to/from USA & NZ and a discount on the Skype number. You also get free calls to mobiles in USA.
    2. You set up a Skype number for Maryland (410).  You can give this number to your contacts.
    3. If you already have Maryland phone numbers (home or business) or a mobile phone in USA you can forward these numbers to your Skype Maryland number.
    4. Setup voicemail to catch calls you miss.
    5. On arrival in NZ, buy a prepaid mobile SIM and then forward your Skype account to that number. So when anyone calls any of your USA numbers then you'll get the call on your local NZ number (inbound calls are free on NZ mobile networks).
    6. Go online to your Skype account login, set your caller ID to either your USA mobile or your USA Skype number. Check show local numbers.
I think that will work for you.
If you dont buy unlimited world you can end up paying for the forwarded calls at both ends, USA to Skype Number, Skype to NZ number. Really depends on your call volume and overall costs. For me a low fixed price is the best.

    Hi there
Your Adobe ID has USA as the country which doesn't appear to be correct, based on your email address format.  I've made a change in our system so please create your Adobe ID again using the correct country.
You should then be able to sign up.
    Kind regards

  • Subscription for unlimited calls to US

Good morning, i want to buy the subscription for unlimited calls to US for a month, but i have some problems:
    1. There it says that if i want unlimited calls on US mobile number i have to say that before i pay the subscription , but i complete everything i can not write anywhere that i want unlimited minutes to US mobile number. I am not interested in unlimited calls to landlines
    2. I put the card number... and so on, but i can not make the payment it says to chech if i have money or verify my account, it can be possible this because i have a Master Card with LEI, not with Dollars or Euro

I just signed up for the premium service yesterday (I have had a "regular" Skype account for years) and seem to have the same problem.  How do I link my newly purchased outside phone number and my new annual subscription together?  I emailed Skype tech support about 24 hours ago and have received no reply.

  • International Warranty in New Zealand is a joke

My Thinkpad Yoga died in early June and I have to send it in for repair.
So far I have waited 2+ months and spent countless HOURS on the phone to your call center for my laptop to be repaired and returned.
I have been told all different sorts of stories of why there are so many delays
    - Parts not available (2+ week wait for each part, first I have been told harddrive is dead, then the motherboard, for each one of these that's a separate wait)
    - Recovery disc not avaialble at service center (I consider this to be the biggest joke)
    - Case escalated for a brand new replacement because of unavailable parts, more wait for replacement to be approved
    - Replacement approved, waiting accounts to approve (?!?!?!what the hell????)
    - Waiting escalation specialist to contact me and grab my shipping details in New Zealand (apparently the escalation team has been overloaded with requests so I am told to expect a 1 week delay again for them to contact me, so far it's been more than 2 weeks)
I just got off the phone with a call center rep and have been told he will contact me in 1-2 hours since he has to get more information (he flatout denied that my replacement has been approved at all so I dont know what's going on there anymore)
Moral of the story, avoid buying a Lenovo if you want service in Australiasia region. At this stage I just want my 1k+ machine back as it's been at the service center for more than 2 months now and by the time I recieve it (if I recieve it) there is not much warranty left.

    ZYO,
Wow - not a good story.
We'll try to arrange some help for you but will need some details to enable the escalation.   Would you send me a private message with your contact information - name, best phone to reach you, and the type and serial number of the system?   If you have any of the service case numbers handy, that will help as well.
Apologies for the trouble so far!
    Best regards,

  • New Zealand PowerMac Purchase

Hello; I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask these questions - I looked around and this seemed the best place to post.
I am calling out to Apple to do something about the situation in New Zealand. Renaissance - the supplier for the Asia/Pacific region are absolutely hopeless.
I am feeling rather frustrated. Now I haven't had a good history with Apple hardware - ie; I've had to take in my laptop many times for repairs. My first laptop went into shop about 5 or 6 times before Apple replaced it with another (for a big discount); this one has gone into shop twice already in its first 9 months of operation; Granted, I use this machine a lot for programming and development, but my respect for Apple hardware isn't too high. (I've also had to take my new 23" panel in as the power supply developed a fault - and its only 6 months old).
Anyway, with this statement, I'm thinking of buying a new PowerMac. I think the new quad looks pretty hot- and possibly it will be a lot more robust than a laptop.
So... I was spec-ing one up on the apple.com shop - here take a look:
    2.5GHz Quad-core PowerPC G5
    512MB 533 DDR2 Non ECC SDRAM- 2x256
    500GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT 256 MB SDRAM
    AirPort Extreme + Bluetooth built-in
    16x SuperDrive DL (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Apple Keyboard & Mighty Mouse - U.S English
    Mac OS X - U.S. English
    Accessory kit
AppleCare Protection Plan for Power Mac (w/or w/o Display) - Auto-enroll
    The price: US$4,297.00 (without tax)
    The time: 5-7 business days
Great - this looks sweet... until you realise that I live in New Zealand.
The same spec'd machine is as follows:
    The Price: NZ$7129.00 = US$5079.00 (without tax)
    The Time: 8 Weeks
I just don't get it. Basically, it is cheaper by nearly $800USD - thats nearly price for a trip to the USA (or Japan, slightly more expensive, but more interesting since my GF lives there) to pick a machine up, which would be like 8 times faster than waiting until February.....
My main question is basically, why is this the situation for New Zealand. My initial guess (and what the shops have told me) is that Renaissance is very slow.
My other question is, why are machines such as this not covered under international warranties? It is actually cheaper for me just to pay for repairs as far as I can see and not bother with a warranty at all- and get my GF to buy it for me from Japan. Is it possible to explicitly buy an International AppleCare warranty? Or, can I buy an AppleCare warranty in NZ and apply it to a machine bought overseas?
Thanks for your time and patience reading my thoughts. I really want to buy one of these machines but by the time I wait 8 weeks the next quad g5 is probably about to come out... I just don't understand the bad service we have here in New Zealand.
    Thanks for your time.

    David,
If it was refurbished by Apple themselves, I do believe they change the boxes so that it's clearly marked "Refurbished." I seem to remember a friend of mine telling me his PowerMac was a refurbished unit and his box was different than the normal ones.

  • Need to be "released" from Veizon Blackberry Server to get BIS in New Zealand??

I have a Verizon Blackberry Tour that has been unlocked.  I am now with Vodafone New New Zealand and have registered for Blackberry Internt Service with Vodafone.  It does not currently work - Vodafone tells me that the phone is registered on Verizon's Blackberry server and I need to contact Verizon to have it released from their server before Vodafone can provide me with BIS.  Verizon tells me that because I never had a plan with them, the phone is not registered on their server (not sure I believe that, but....).  Verizon has told me to contact Blackberry as the phone would have to be released from a Blackberry server.  This doesn't make sense to me ... but I can't seem to find a way to talk to someone at Blackberry to find out.  Can anyone help?

It makes sense to me, in that whoever used the device prior to you, did not "remove" the PIN from their account. Hence, the device remains registered on the previous account.
Verizon will need to do this. RIM doesn't do this. It is a common question asked here of users purchasing used devices. Call Verizon.

  • What adapter/converter do I use for my USA mac book pro in NEW ZEALAND?

I'm studying abroad in New Zealand for 2 months and was wondering what type of adapter/converter do I use? I'm actually already here in New Zealand but buy a converter/adapter before I left. What should I look for on the box? I have a mac book pro 13 in that I bought in 2011.Thanks!

The MacBook Pro power adapter is multi-voltage capable, so you will need just an AC outlet adapter for the New Zealand power system.

  • Setting up a Apple Airport Extreme to work on the Telecom New Zealand Broadband network?

Has anyone had any success in setting up their airport extreme to work on the Telecom New Zealand broadband network without having to connect it to the modem which NZ Telecom supply?
Any advice and tips would be welcomed!

    1. Since a "router" is needed next to the cable modem and before the ethernet switch, should we put the new Extreme in that basement location? Or, should we instead put the new Extreme somewhere on the main floor of the house (connected by ethernet) and leave the old one where it is?
Assuming the older Extreme is no older than Gen3 or Gen4 it is a perfectly adequate router for the speeds that cable will generally give you.
And therefore it is best to bridge the new AC extreme and use it upstairs via ethernet. That will then give you the best wireless in the most suitable area of the house.
    2. Should we somehow bridge the two Airport Extremes (the old one and the new one) into one wireless network?
Yes, what is called roaming network. Both units create a wireless network.
You simply setup same name and same security/password on all the devices for wireless. The wireless channels are the differentiator.. and you can either leave that on auto or take some control over it and set manually. I would be inclined to do it manually just because the AC wireless needs the 149 channel for high speed AC.. so you do not want the old Extreme in the basement using that. Force that one to channel 36 or 40. However it is likely to work itself out ok on auto.. but I recommend you check it.
The apple docos on roaming are rather ancient..
Here is a post with newer info.
Setting Up Roaming - New AirPort Extremes and Utility
    3. Should we go a further step and also bridge in one or both of the old Airport Express units, perhaps on the top floor of the house for example?
Yes, if you have a black spot with poor wireless you can add the Express to help. The old ones are single band and will probably work better at 2.4ghz but whatever suits you.. perhaps setup one on 2.4ghz and one on 5ghz.
