Subscription (world wide) + call forwarding (malay...

About a month ago I signed up for WW unlimited calling. I work in Malaysia & live in Thailand. I WANTED to set up call forwarding to my malaysian landline so I could recieve calls. IT DOES NOT WORK. I have tried to find the answer (a viable answer) to this little snaffu. It would be nice if an answer were forthcoming from a real live breathing skype tech personnel. And yes, I've tried different combinations of using the area code, deleting the initial zero, keeping the initial zero, and all other combinations there of.

Thanks ~ If I am calling my landline from another landline in the same city I use this: 324-XXXX. If I am calling from a mobile/cell or from outside the city on a landline, I use this: 04-324-XXXX.
Whether I use the 04, just the 4 or nothing, I do not get an error message from skype.
Ususally when calling internationally, the zero is dropped from the number I'm trying to reach.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to answer. It's kind of you to do so when it's not your job.
where *does* one find a skype tech? hmmmmm
Are you also including the Malaysian country code +60 before the number in your Skype program/app?  You're correct in dropping the leading zero in the 04 area code, so you should be able to reach the number with +60 4 324 XXXX from Skype.  All calls to telephones from Skype must be dialed with a country code, even if you are in the same city or country as the phone number. Can you dial that number from your Skype program or app?  You should be able to get through, with the subscription you have, if that number is a landline number and not a mobile.
As for finding a tech, or someone from Skype's support group, you can get to them through the Support link near the top of this page.  If you have a subscription for calling phones, you can get to a live online chat with someone.  Or you can submit a ticket.  I don't mind answering questions, since Skype is a useful service.  Sometimes the online documentation could be clearer, or maybe rewritten by someone more fluent in a given language, but all in all I'm happy with Skype.  It saves me lots of $$$.

Is there a subscription for unlimited call forwarding?
I really don't like paying per minute.

    Hi,
All subscriptions apply to call forwarding. For example if your calls are forwarded to your mobile number in Japan, then you need a subscription that covers Japan: http://www.skype.com/go/subscriptions
Subscription should cover the number where you forward your calls.
Currently there aren't Unlimited subscription for Japan mobile, only landlines: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/prices/pay-monthly/#JP

    Hello,
Your account shows that you are calling a cellphone in Finland. Please note that only calls to landlines in Finland are included in the Unlimited World Subscription.

  • World wide subscription

I signed up to a world wide subscription and had it for some time. My credit card expired and I have tried to get a new card on the system to renew subscription but am having trouble to register card.  Also cannot see option for subscription as being offered now. It clearly stopped due to card ending not because I wanted it to. Please help me resolve this asap. The price seems to have gone up too?

Your Plan only covers calls to landlines in the countries you mention (not cellphones).
If you are calling cellphones you will, therefore, be asked for credit.
If you are calling landlines please file with Customer Support.

You didn't mention what subscription you have, and the number you are trying to forward to.  If you know Skype is acknowledging your subscription, it sounds like the number you are trying to forward to may not be covered by your subscription. If you list the number in a reply to this message thread, please replace the last 4 digits of the number with XXXX.  We don't need to see the full number, but everything up to the last 4 digits would be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
Note that many subscriptions only cover calls to landline phones, not to mobiles or other special numbers.  Skype offers subscriptions that include calling to mobiles, but not too many of them are of the "unlimited" variety due to the costs for calling mobiles in much of the world.

  • Re: Call forwarding not working with subscription

I just noticed the same problem today too. Calls are going to voicemail instead of ringing to my forwarded phone (I have a US/CA unlimited subscription)
and I do use Skype on both Win7 computer and Android phone.
note that the help on the feature clearly still states that it should work even if you're offline (my red bolding below, from http://www.skype.com/en/features/call-forwarding/?intsrc=client-_-windows-_-6.11-_-go-callforwarding...
    How it works:
Somebody calls you on Skype, but you’re unable to answer or you’re offline.
The call gets forwarded to a mobile or landline of your choice.
You pick up and there’s no extra charge for the person calling.

  • Call forwarding setup having a subscription

Hi, I have a subscription and through skype desktop ?'m not able to setup the call forwarding. An error pop-up inform me that I have not enough credit!!! Yes, I have no credit, I pay for a subscription. So, I can setup the call forwarding via web. Thanks

You must have a subscription that does not include mobile phones. Check to see if that is the case if so you will need skype credit to forward the phone.

  • Call forwarding with subscription

I just bought a 3 month subscripton. Does this mean that I also have to buy additional skype credit for the forwarding to work. I am trying to ave my calls forwarded and it is not working?

If you are forwarding an online number to a mobile phone it has to be covered by your subscription or it will cost you credit. If you have a skype app on your mobile it should ring when someone calls you on skype.  Example the other day I was away from my computer, and a friend called me from asia. My cell phone rang as I was logged on to skype through my cell phone. If I am at the computer both ring, and I can answer either one I want to. You cannot forward to a phone w/o an online number.

I have taken advantage of the Skype offer for one month's free world-wide use that was offred as part of the thw Windows 8 upgrade.
I tried to ring a Switzerland mobile number but it rejecetd it based upon my current balance (Non one month free).

If you are not able to forward to a French landline number, and you have the Unlimited World subscription, then you should be able to open a support ticket with Skype and be eligible for an online chat with them.  French landline phones (not sure about phones starting with 09, the non-geographic numbers being offered by VOIP services in France, but certainly those numbers starting with 01 through 05) should be covered by that subscription. When forwarding to a French number, drop the first zero in the French number, which should then have a total of 9 digits after the +33 country code.

  • Online number call forwarding issues

    Hello all,
I live in Taiwan, and I just recently purchased an online (United States) number (where I have an unlimited subcription to landlines and cell phones), so I could get my phone calls forwarded to my cell phone in Taiwan, however, after setting up Skype's forwarding service, my call are not being forwarded to my Taiwanese cell phone.
Do I need to purchase a Taiwan subscription as well in order for my phone calls to be forwarded to my cell phone?
    Thank you.

You will need to get skype credit or a mobile subscription for Taiwan to forward to your Taiwanese cell phone. Here is another solution. I use Kall8 it is a call forwarding service with a 800 type number. The forward to a Taiwan cell looks like .70 cents a minute. You need to do some research and find which one is cheaper. It cost $2.00  a month plus the call fees. I have used it all over the world with no problem.

  • Call Forwarding with Skype Number

I have a skype number and a couple questions. I have searched the forums and did not see this question answered.
I have an unlocked iphone and travel througout a different country every month or so. Each new country means a new sim card and a new number.
My question is: Will purchasing the skype world subscription cover the costs of each country (as long as the country is covered in the plan)? It states that the subscription only covers mobiles in some countries and landlines in others. So if I purchase the unlimited world (and assuming I am in one of the countries covered) will this be all I need to receive unlimited forwarded calls to my mobile?
I hope this isnt too confusing. Thanks!

Hi, Salsy20 and Joeriba, and welcome to the Community,
Please check your call forwarding settings; Skype does not determine when to activate call forwarding based upon the number of rings; it is based upon an increment of time.  For example, in the screen shot, below, the default increment is 10 seconds (circled in orange pen).  You would need to determine and then experiment with how many rings = [x] seconds, or set to 0.  Remember, if you make any changes to any settings, click Save!

  • IMac G5, "World Wide Warranty", video issue

I think I have bought a very beautiful, expensive, piece of junk. I live in Mexico, which also compounds the problem. In May of last year a friend of mine brought me my iMac G5 refurbished when she went to Dallas. It worked beautifully for about 2 months. Then it developed the known issue of the video power. The local Mac dealers, a store called MicroHouse here in Toluca, were WONDERFUL. It's NOT our problem. I said look at the paper that comes with the machine "World Wide Warranty" for one year. "Doesn't matter" said they. Negative intransigence is wonderful. Finally another friend went to San Antonio. The Mac store there fixed it---or thought they did. It worked great for a week, then developed another problem. also video. I now have yellow stripes, sometimes vertical sometimes horizontal, and splotches. all over the screen. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes it's worse than others. The actual processor seems to be working fine, but having variable yellow stripes and blotches is NOT what I paid over 1000 US for. Also, when the there is a black background, the color is usually a strange blue with glittering yellowish flashes. Sometimes rebooting helps, and sometimes it's worse after. Of course I went back to my trusty friends at MicroHouse, and of course they said the same thing as before. The idiot who is the owner even said that the refurbished machines only have a three month warranty and tried to tell me what English means, he's from here but I think he does speak some English. I told him to look at the Apple page. My question is "Is the World Wide Warranty just a piece of useless paper?" It's too coarse to use in the bathroom and not absorbent enough to use in the kitchen. In short, I want my money back.

Just a quick question. Is Mac warranty valid for any country in the world?
    Yes.

  • Call forwarding when I didn't request it?

If you call our home phone, it rings once, then goes to busy.  If you call back immediately thereafter, you get a fax machine tone (!).  One the home end, if you pick it up i after the first ring, you might get the caller, but otherwise you get a dial tone.
This has been going on for several days now.  The lines have been tested from the sentral office several times now and we don't think that's an issue.
I called Verizon last week; they did something Friday morning (remotely; I don't know what, we weren't home as they did whatever it was they said they did before the time that they had said they would come) and it was fixed then, but Saturday it went back again.
It looks and sounds for all the world as if our home phone number has been forwarded to a fax machine.
We don't have call forwarding service, and I have tried the *73 several times just to be safe, but to no effect.
Before I call again and end up missing another day of work to wait for a repair that won't come when promised -- any ideas?
    Thanks much
