i am using label to dispaly the text, i am unabel to find a way to have superscript and subscript
i would be thankful for the help

not sure if those tags are properly supported in Swing.

Super-scripted Ref Numbers with generated Ref Table (A Glossary?)

Good Morning All!
I have been trying to create a paragraph style that will be applied manually, but when applied Italicizes and adds a sequential super-scripted "reference number". These reference numbers will then be used to produce a table which will sort rows numerically and produce info based on each reference. I will also need this to delete duplicates. I have a remove duplicates script for my ToC and may be able to retrofit it to this, but we'll get to that later. I can single out words with GREP, but without creating my own "parts dictionary" it would be a pain to add a thousand or so part names* to a GREP. I figured the easiest way to do this would be to manually apply a paragraph or character style per instance and then use a script to remove duplicates. If there is a better way to do this I'm open to suggestions.
*Sadly part names aren't always consistent either due to different writers writing styles.
To keep it simple for now I'm wanting it to just produce: Example Row in Table - [Ref # / Blank cell for part number / Part Name (Text that Ref style was applied to) / Blank cell for description]

I'm running into a problem that my super script numbers wont sit right if its done through a paragraph style as it reads the entire paragraph. I need the style to apply to a word or group of words. I tried creating a numbering system like a ToC, but once again that works off of paragraph styles. I can manually apply a character style but it doesn't have any sequential numbering options. For right now I'm fine manually applying the style for each instance and then copy/pasting part number and description. I'm just looking for something to generate reference numbers and the name that coincides into a row of a target table. In the future it would be amazing to have it access the component dictionary (excell doc) I'm painstakingly building to grab the part number(s) and descriptions so I don't have to copy/paste.
I have been tasked with making multiple writers write the same thing. It feels impossible btw. So I have been creating an indesign template that does a lot of the work for you so that the largest inconsistencies are now handled by Indesign and leave no room for user error. This will not only help my older writers be consistent but will lessen the learning curve on newbies. Let me know if there is something differently I could be doing or if anything has worked well for you. I am open to any and all help/suggestions, I look forward to hearing back!

I was hoping that they would continue on through pages, but not documents (for booked instances). That they would be numbered on the fly so that if you moved pages around they would renumber themselves and then you could run a script to fix the order in the table. I have the sequential numbering scheme down for automatic figure box numbering. I just cant figure out the in-text mid-paragraph numbering. What do you have for me MVP?

Text required to be inserted as Super script

Hi All,
I have an requirement to insert the long text of MIC in as super script.
E.g. Not More Than 103 CFU/g
Here the bold charecter should be super scripted. just as the °C. I need to represent it as 10 cube (10X10X10)

How we change a word to Super Script in ADOBE Form

Hi,
I have scenario where I need to change a word to super script. I am getting the super script value in a variable, now When displaying on a abode form in a particular cell I have to concatenate this word and make sure that it appears as Super Script to the word preceding it.
Really appreciate if someone can post suggestions and ideas to do it.

Hi Srikanth,
In case of text field you can do this . Its simple.
You just need to check the rich text property from text field properties
Now you can select any word and change it to superscript by using the corresponding properties button.
Moreover I guess If you create a table and save some data by copying from excel or word as superscriipt it gets saved in table. so you can use this way also.

Using Sub/Super scripts in JCheckboxes

So I have a JCheckbox and I want it's label to be "t2 symmetry" except I would like the 2 to be in subscript.
I understand that many swing components support HTML but even using <HTML>subscript</HTML>doesn't work, I figured it was just because the Jcheckbox doesn't support it since I've seen other posts in this forum regarding using HTML or even just a command. But as I'm building in my NetBeans Matisse setup those command don't work in JLabels either.
There HAS to be a way to make subscripts work in Java 6 SE.
What can I do to make this work?

Creating pdf with super/sub script using indesign

Thanks for the response. I have created the file in ID and exported / print (Both i have made) it to PDF. When i open the pdf and check the textrise value is 0. Actually it should be greater than or less than zero. I don't know what mistake i have made or how to acheive the same. Could you please tell me where i have made the mistake.

Will there be an update in Pages for ipad that will allow for sub scripts and superscripts

I am a chemistry professor who loves to work on the ipad. The problem I have is that the mathematics I use and chemical equations is use in my writings need both super scripts and subscripts. I would love to use my ipad for this, but presently, the only way I can do this is with a third party app that allows me to create the formulas and the paste them in the document I am working on. Will there be an update to Pages for ipad that will allow subscripts and super scripts. I would love to move away from my Office 2010, but the support is not there yet.

Hi,
First you need to confirm where you are displaying that description.
E.G. if you taking it on Quality certificate you need to assign that form in the long text through(Menu>>Format>>Change form)
here you select the form of certificate in that form if subscript of super script are not active please make active with the help of abaper)
once you assign the required form you can maintain the sub script in the long text.

you can use this in subroutine i think this may be usefull to you before that you need to select the radio button of super script in charecter format for that perticular format

How to define Export parameter as Import parameter in next test script.

Hi Experts,
We have defined Purchase order no. as export parameter in ME21N transaction test script.
Test configuration for ME21N transaction executed succesfully and the Purchase order No. appeared in the last message
is the export parameter for next test script i.e. MIGO transaction.
However I am unable to define this export parameter as Import parameter in next test script for MIGO transaction.
Please suggest me the method to define the same.

Vikas,
You need to create super script which is nothing but having the both the steps (Po creation & MIGO ) in this eCatt script. This can be achieved by using the REF command as ex. below.
Create PO
REF ( Z_CREATE_PO , Z_CREATE_PO_1 ).
Create MIGO
REF ( Z_CREATE_MIGO , Z_CREATE_MIGO_1 ).
Z_Create_PO is the actual eCatt script that you recorded to create the PO. Z_CREATE_QUOTE_1 is the interface created by SAP. Similarly you have use the REF command to call the MIGO script inside this super script.
To pass the export parameter from PO step to MIGO, double click the Z_CREATE_PO_1and define the export variable for PO number. And do the same on the interface for MIGO step.

Superscript & Subscript in Contribute

Just wondering how you would apply add sub & super script
formatting... in html you would simple put
2, but in contribute you can't edit in html
- thought it may be via 'Insert Special Characters' but there is
nothing there.

When you have CS3 you can insert a HTML snippet (main menu
> Insert > HTML Snippet). The admin has to give you the
proper rights.
Set rights:
1. go to main menu Edit>Administer websites>Users and
Roles>Edit role settings>Editing
2. check the option to insert HTML Snippets
If you have an older version you have to insert the code
using an external application (Main menu> File > Actions >
Edit page source in external application). In this case the admin
also needs to give you proper rights.

Has anyone ever exported a Keynote to a PDF and noticed that some characters were missing?

I've recently exported a Keynote to a PDF to make it readable for Windows. The problem was that I noticed some characters were missing (the word AÇÕES was written AÇ ES). My main problem, actually, was with the "ã" and "õ", mainly while using the fonte ANTENNA (the whole family).
I've then noticed that, in one single slide, I've used, by mistake, the font GILL SANS on a title. I then substituted the font for ANTENNA. Guess what... Problem solved!
Has it ever happened to anyone? Is there any logical explanation for that?!

OSX 10.9.2
To reproduce the problem:
Make a blank presentation.
Make a table (love the new table inteface btw ).
In a table cell, write E = mc2, where 2 is a super script.
Export to PDF. The superscript is gone. Same for subscripts.
Seems as all text after the subscript or superscirpt in a cell is missing.
Twice now, I have had to convert my presentation to PowerPoint as table headers have been mangled due to this isuee...

Dislay the description in a particular format....

Hello frends,
My client for the quality module wants to display the description in the form of super script and subscript. I mean fr chemical compound like Na2CO3, the 2 should be down of Na or smaller than Na, and 3 should be down of CO or smaller.
I tried using long text.. bt it was not possible.
In the same way can we display for Fe-3 as -3 on the top of Fe.
To display even the degrees also.
Are these things possible. please let me know.

I just wanted to enter the details in the particular format, as said above, in the material description field. As the material description length is only 40 chars, so the client wanted the chemical compound description in the field description, so that it doesnt cross 40 chars.

Gnome fonts gone mad - very stange charters appearing

I use GDM as my login manger.
I type my user name which appears as per normal, then entering the password things go wrong insteand of * I get what looks like a super script 5 above a subscript 0.
After loggin in KDE works fine but Gnome fonts are all in the above described form. All headings, titles of icons everything it is like it is trying to hide all my text as password text.
Therefore Gnome is unusable, I am sure this happened after an update but as for which one I am not sure.
Would it be worth trying to find if there have been any font pckages that I have installed updated recently? and rolling back the update.
