Substitution error message no. GB175

Hi gurus,
After our SAP upgraded from R/3 to ECC6 , I found that I can not create steps for substituiton under complete document with Message no. GB175 "You may not substitute any fields for this Event
". Is this issue caused by the upgrade or any configuration ? Thanks.

Error message KI089: Substitution of settlement senders is not allowed

Hi ALL,
To meet the demand of the company, was created a substitution (OKC9) to replace the field value COBL-AUFNR through a user-exit. However, when performing the process that calls the exit in question (transaction KO88) is shows the error message KI089 (Substitution of settlement is not allowed senders).
Searching the SAP Support Portal could see that there is a note to resolve this problem (SAP Note 317894), but this note would not be valid for SAP ECC 6.0.
Does anyone know whether it applies to SAP ECC 6.0? I think it's the only solution to solve the reported problem.

I believe the sender should never be substituted. If you posted values to an Order, the same should receive a credit upon settlement. Else, it negates the whole concept of settlement
I referred to the note you mentioned. What I perceived is you cant substitute a sender during settlement and thats right as per my knowledge

Variable substitution in error message

I'm trying to create a document that contains generic error messages in a module used by different projects. I intended to share the messages by including them as a variable substitution within the error message e.g.:
Error("%message_dob_in_future%") but all I get out in the error message is the stuff between the quote marks (i.e. %message_dob_in_future%).
I presume that variable substitution doesn't work in error or warning messages? If not, any chance of including it in the future?

You should be able to use a screen label to achieve the same functionality. Just add the label to the screen on which you want it to appear, substitute in the attribute value, and format it to look like an error.

Modify the error message in the substitution status section

Hi,
we have requirement to customize the error message(if any) displayed while assigning the alternative supervisor in the Manage Substitution rules section.
The error message is displayed in the hyperlink substitution status. After we click on the hyperlink error message is displayed
if possible, please let us know BAPI name which returns the error message from R/3

Hi,
You can put Stack Trace as to what BAPI's are getting called while navigating in Portal:
To do so in R/3 Navigate to T.code ST05 and enable RFC Trace and also Activate Trace with Filter and you can set the trace for that user.
After you do the tasks on Portal, Deactivate Trace and Display Trace which will show you all the BAPI's which were called.

Error message GB554 Substitution Is Not Activated in Selected Application

I've created a substitution for WBS element by TC GGB1 but when I try to activate substitution by TC GGB4 for Project System the error message GB554 "Substitution Is Not Activated in Selected Application" appears.

Hi Giovanna,
Per my understanding you need to assign the WBS substitution in project profile (Transaction OPSA) in 'Control' tab. You will see a section called 'Substitution' under this tab. Take a dropdown and assign appropriate substitution to corresponding project profile you want.

How to raise error message in substitution exits. I have tried with normal statement,
Message 'Welcome!!' type E.
But its inot stopped at that error message, Its goes next standard code and picked other messag and shown as error message.
Th exit seems U100, I that I want to stop by using error message based on some condition. Please throw the answer quickly

In the Substitution exits you can create the message in the configuration it self.
You dont't need raise message explicitly.

Variable substitution error while using Seeburger module parameter

Hi Freinds,
I would like to use the variable substitution in a receiver file adapter to add the invoice no.
(which is contained in the XML file) to the target filename.
In addition I have to convert the XML file to an X12 EDI format using the seeburger module "localejbs/CallBicXIRaBean".
As soon as this entry is made in the modules the following error message occurs:
"com.sap.aii.adapter.file.configuration.DynamicConfigurationException:
Error during variable substitution: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException:
Caught SAXException while parsing XML payload: Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException:
XMLParser: No data allowed here: (hex) 53, 4f, 48(:main:, row:1, col:3)"
My problem is that the conversion from XML to X12 EDI is done before the variable substitution is started.
That`s why the reference for the variable is no longer valid as the file is already converted to a X12 EDI (=flatfile) format.
If I disable one of the two steps (either 1:1-mapping or variable substitution) the other step runs properly.
Has anybody an idea how to solve this topic?
Is it possible to specify the variable substitution as module?
If this is possible I could solve it by just reordering the two steps in the module chain.

Use Dynamic Configuration Bean to set this value. You have to use this well before "localejbs/CallBicXIRaBean".

Error Message in version 7.1.0.33

Greetings,
My desktop software automatically upgraded to version 7.1.0.33, but I'm getting the same error message that I was getting in version 7.0.0. I was hoping that the upgrade would fix the error.

Use of #APP_IMAGES# in Validation Error Message

One of the servers I use upgraded to 4.0. It happens that I use images in some of my error messages on validations. I used the #APP_IMAGES# syntax previously, but it doesn't seem to work in 4.0. I can switch to &APP_IMAGES. so it's not a big deal, but I wanted to mention it. Can someone confirm there's been a change? Thanks.

Well after seeing your post I tried chaning the Edit image in IR . Heres what I found
1. #APP_IMAGES# does not work
2. Even &APP_IMAGES. doesnot work
3. #IMAGE_PREFIX# is the only one that works.
As we have either #IMAGE_PREFIX# or custom Substitution strings in our apps I had not noticed this before.

To customize a new JS Tree with images associated with your application or workspace, the image needs to be preceded with the host url.

Error message for ORA-904 incomplete in german locale [1.1.0.22.71]

when I enter an SQL which generates an ORA-904, the error message looks somewhat weird with german locale:
-- First with AMERICAN setting:
alter session set nls_language='AMERICAN';
select a from dual;
alter session set succeeded.

SQL Error: ORA-00904: "A": invalid identifier

As you can see, the name of the invalid column is not displayed when nls_language="GERMAN".
Maybe the second line '00904. 00000 - "%s: invalid identifier"' results from having a german Windows XP.
I don't know how it looks on english Windows or how it should look like. :-)
I run SQLDeveloper on XP Pro and Oracle 9.2 (on W2k).

If you take a closer look, the 00904. 00000 - "%s: invalid identifier" line is present in both languages - it's something that gets always appended.
As for the German message SQL Error: ORA-00904: Ungültiger Spaltenname, you see it's lacking any reference to the column. The German translator apparently let that slip out. If the substitution parameter was there, but unsubstituted for some reason, it would look like SQL Error: ORA-00904: "": Ungültiger Spaltenname.
You can contact Oracle through Metalink if you want this to get sorted out...

Releasing Mass Change Worklist-Error Message No Administrator for this task

Using transaction AR01 we create a Worklist and assign it to the Substitution Rule. When we use Transaction AR31 and try to Release the Worklist so that the actual Mass Change can take place, we get the following error message. "No Administrator for this task". We've tried a user id with SAPALL and still get this error message.
Does anyone know what this means and how we can get around this message?

We have this working in our Test system without having to set up any workflow tasks for Fixed Assets. I'm wondering if this has to do with the Productive client settings. We had to make some changes so that we could use transaction OA02 in a Productive client.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

APEX 3.1 replaces HTML tags in error message automatically

Hello!
I have a problem: we use sometimes HTML links or even JavaScript in error messages. In older versions of APEX it works, but now we upgraded to 3.1 and in all those messages HTML tags are replaced so instead of link we get a plain HTML in a message.
Are there any possibilities to turn this option off or what can we do to solve this problem?

In a page process we use raise_application_error(-20547, 'Go to GOOGLE') and in a Process Error Message
we use constuction Error: #SQLERRM#. Then on an standard error page we see instead of Error: Go to Google html source. Thats it. In template in Error Page Template Control section we use substitution #MESSAGE#

Error message when running Business rules

How to raise Error Message in foreground through Dynamic Action?

Hi,
I have a requirement where I have to raise an error message in foreground so as to stop processing whenever HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION fails to update a record in a dynamic program. I tried using MESSAGE statement but it did not work, as the error message was not displayed properly on the Infotype screen that calls the dynamic action.
For ex.: If infotype PA0000 is calling PA0014 through dynamic action, then I want the error message to be displayed on the Actions Screen of PA0000.
Is there any specific way to raise error messages through dynamic action programs?
Quick answers will be appreciated.
