Subtitles made in DVDSP. Need to move them due to a cut in video. How?

I have a 90 minute film with subtitles made in DVDSP. Picture and subtitles were perfectly lined up until I made a 5-second cut in one scene 40 minutes into the film.
I need to move the subtitles from that scene until the end of the movie by 5 seconds.
I was told I can only move one subtitle at a time in DVDSP, is this possible???
Shouldn't there be a way to select them and move them all together?
Thanks for your help
Paula

'Fraid not... the software assumes that your cut is done by the time it gets to DVD SP.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page should let you reset them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

  • Need to move files from G4 to my new laptop - HOW??

I am going to use my new laptop to mix DJ sets. Literally all of my music is already on my G4 in iTunes and as other aif files. How can I transfer the music files over to my new laptop - I don't want to have to input all the music again...that would literally take weeks as it is over 26 GB worth of files.
I know that you can hook the laptop up to the computer (by firewire I assume)and boot one up while starting up the other and holding down a certain key or combination of keys on either the laptop or computer. Then the laptop is like another drive from the G4 and you can copy files back and forth between the two. I need to do this.
Can anyone tell me the specifics of how to do this??

Note that migrating to an Intel Mac from a PowerPC Mac should be done carefully.
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate.  Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3 or G4 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    System Preference add-ons
    All Unsanity Haxies
    Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior (does not work), TechTool Pro (pre-4.5.1 versions do not work), SuperDuper (newest release works), and Drive Genius (untested) may not work properly on Intel-Macs.  The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

  • Need to move 10,000 photos

I am about to install a new SSD drive that will become my new C: drive, i am using PSE 11, (I have used various other version of PSE and have updated them through the years) and am planning to install  the program on the new SSD drive. I have about 10,000 photos in one catalog. I have them filed by year and then within each year i have them filed in folders by by month or event. Due to space limitations of the new SSD drive I need to move them to a different internal hard drive( I do have an external drive if that is easier). How do i go about doing this without losing the connections i have made in my one catalog to these 10,000 photos?
    Thanks for your help.

    Michael,
I have completed the backup of PSE 11 catalog into my external drive, using the backup catalog command in PSE. I have backed up my pictures though windows and the backup contains the same file structure on my external drive as is does on my existing (soon to be my former) C drive. I have just gone through a practice run (not doing the actual restore) to see how it is done. I am still thinking that since the actual pictures (only the thumbnails have been backed up with the catalog backup) have not been backed up through PSE 11 that when this process is actually completed all the pictures will go through a reconnect process.
    John,
    I see you have done:
1 - a backup through PSE to the external drive. You can check that a folder has been created there with the name you choose for the backup. If you can see a 'catalog.buc' and a 'backup.tly' file in it, that means the backup is ok.
2 - a Windows copy (backup) of your picture file tree on the external drive. That's another kind of backup. It does not contain a copy of the catalog (the database)
That's very good, having two backups is a good thing!
Your goal is to restore your picture files to the internal F: drive when you are ready, that is when the SSD is installed with the PSE software. You have the choice to also store your catalog (database) folder on the SSD or on drive F. Storing it on the SSD would not bring noticeable increase in speed, so I suppose you'll store it on the F: drive.
    You'll have to choose if you want to use ;
    - the PSE restore function (restores the files and the catalog with automatically reconnected files)
    - or the Windows folder tree copy followed by a PSE semi-automatic reconnection.
Both solutions are roughly equivalent in time, the PSE solution is simpler, the Windows solution requires that you know how to find and copy the catalog (database) folder and that you know how to tell PSE to reconnect missing files. It's up to you to choose : if you master the second solution, that will be helpful if you need to reconnect files in other circumstances. With PSE11, reconnecting a whole folder tree is automatic and really quick if you choose the Windows solution, it is automatic in the PSE restore solution.
If you choose the Windows solution, you'll have to locate your catalog folder and copy it. You can copy it directly to your F: drive. Let's say your new pictures folder path is  F:My Photos,  the folder copy of the catalog could be F:My Photos catalog. The folder catalog can be found with the help menu, option system info.
I will have on my new SSD a folder from the installation of Windows 7 called My Pictures. Since i no longer want pictures to go to that folder, i am wondering if there is a way to have any new pictures automatically directed to the folder on my new F drive ?
Are you using the photo downloader ? If so, check the preferences in the edit menu. You can define a default location for the pictures you upload from your camera card to your computer, and another one for the default location for your scans.
Side note and just a question to Windows experts in this forum : I thought that you could move the default 'My Pictures' folder to another drive, am I wrong ?

  • How do I take games from my iPhone 4s and move them over to the new iPod touch 5th generation?

For Christmas my son will be getting the iPod touch 5th generation.  I currently have the iPhone 4s.  Both equipped with iCloud. Is it possible for me to take the games from my iPhone and move them to the iPod? If so, how will I go about doing that?  I currently have a macbook but need to upgrade my software so I can install iCloud to it.
    Thanks.

One of the simplest methods: you will need to log in with your App store account and download them on the iPod. You will not be charged, since you already bought them.

  • Need to move a lot of photos! Help

I have about 550 gigs of RAW files (with sidecars) that are stored on a Windows Home Server. It is starting to get some age on it so I need to move them. I need to use LR5 to move them from the WHS to a different computer on the same LAN. What is the easiest way to do this? The whole catalog thing is a bit confusing to me so all my photos are saved by specific address of the job.
Like this. What would be the best way to do this?

Move photos in your operating system, keeping structure/hierarchy the same (don't be re-arranging things at this time)
    Then, follow these instructions: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm
