Subtitles on Rented BT VIsion Films

Hi
I am new to this Forum. Can anyone help, are there subtitles on Rented Films on the BT Vision, I use it all the time on the normal TV but can't seem to find it on rented films, I find it very frustrating as cannot hear and rely heavily on subtitles.
Many thanks
Debbie

No they aren't available and personally I think it is disgraceful.
The BT Vision service pays little heed to those who are either visually or aurally impaired, which is shocking.
I can hear but not see very well and the colour scheme of BTVision (and its APP) on Freeview makes it unusable now for me. NowTV on the YouView box doesn't provide subtitles at all either and is visually only slightly better.
Netflix on the other hand provides an easy to use interface and subtitles.
I'm not sure where the law stands on this matter but we really ought not to need the law to intervene.
Sorry to rant but having had to take to a wheelchair eighteen months ago I now find any places inaccessible including the motability garage!

    I take it you are in the French iTunes Store? You need to sign into your store:
    Change iTunes Store Country on an iDevice
    1. Tap Settings;
    2. Tap iTunes & App Stores;
    3. Tap View Apple ID;
    4. Enter your user name and password;
    5. Tap Country/Region;
    6. Tap Change Country/Region;
    7. Select the region where you will be located;
    8. Tap Done.

  • How does Vision Film compare to SkyMovies (premier...

    It looks like Vision Box Office ppv films are much the same as Sky Box Office (now "Store"), but how does the free Vision Film channel compare to Sky Movies Premier?  From looking at the listings it would seem that VF is some way behind Sky Premier, which means a massive gap between when films are on Box Office until they're on VF.
    My reason for asking is that I generally only watch the new releases, and currently on Sky I'm happy to watch on Premier rather than paying for Sky Store as they're not too far behind (and still massively ahead of what Lovefilm can offer).  From a brief view of the Vision Film listings, I can see that I'd end up buying films from Vision Box Office instead of waiting.
    An alternative would have been the NOW TV subscription, but its ludicrously in SD not HD, and they've stated no plans to move to HD on YouView (only Xbox).  So no way I'd pay £15pcm for SD films.

    The movies on VF are not as new as the releases on Sky or NowTV. But even if you had NowTV the films listed on their website may not actually be on Youview for licencing reasons and may only appear on other formats.
    If you want the latest movies without having to pay after they have been on box office then you may as well use Sky - if you are willing to wait for them to be released on VF then go with BT.
    Also if you have the unlimited package for Vision, then you get a choice of approx 250 movies, loads of tv series and music videos included. BT stream some movies in HD, which NowTV don't and nor do Sky (you have to download films first with Sky).
    Also remember to get the premiers, etc on Sky, you pay a premium for it, compared to the monthly cost of BT Youview or BT Vision

  • Should I Get Vision Film Club For Free?

    I currently receive all the on-demand TV, Kids, Replay, Music and Sport for "free" as part of my subscription.
    Should I get Vision Film Club too? As it is I just get the trailer / Can't see films in Vision Film club?

    Hello,
    When did you sign up?
    What package have BT put you on (will be on your bill)?
    Perhaps you are on one of BT's old packages (Bronze, Silver & Gold) they were discontinued some time ago and all merged into Unlimited at £12.50 per month.
    Should be easy enough to get it resolved.
    Thanks

  • Subtitles when renting movies

    Hi,
    I have a doubt and I think this is a very important one to solve.
    It is about subtitles, when I download a movie from iTunes store to my AppleTV it comes without subtitles (english, spanish, whatever), I have tried to configure them in the settings menu, audio and video options, and selected english, then I rented a movie and was without subtitles.
    When someone is hear impaired it is very upsetting not to see something with subtitles.
    I have looked over the internet the way to add subtitles, and there are weird things that include cracking and stuff which I don''t really want to try.
    My question is, what is the best way to get subtitles on rented and buyed movies? or there isn't any?
    Thanks,

    only "selected" movies have subtitles (or closed captions).
    look for the CC logo next to the movie before purchasing or renting.
    if the CC logo is not there then the movie does not have subtitles.

  • I rented a short film on iTunes but didn't have enough space for the HD version I paid for. I was unable to download it in SD for whatever reason and cannot seem to download my purchase on my desktop iTunes. Am I missing something?

    I rented a short film on iTunes but didn't have enough space for the HD version I paid for. I was unable to download it in OR convert it to SD for whatever reason and cannot seem to download my purchase on my desktop iTunes. Am I missing something?

    When you purchase an HD movie or show, in most cases the SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select Movies or TV shows as appropraite. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the movies/shows and be able to download them.
    Note that with digital copies from a Blu-Ray or DVD, if it comes with an HD copy, you normally cannot get the SD copy as well and have to purchase it separately if you want it.
    Regards.

  • Vision film

    Hi,
    I have a vision+ box and have the tv essential package.
    Prior to the new look update i was able to pay per view films, since the update i can only pay per view from the box offfice section.
    When i try to access a film from vision film it says i need to subscribe, however it states in my package info that pay per view films are included.
    Please help!

    the movies from the "Vision Film" section re only available on the TV Unlimited Extra package:
    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/tv/compare-packages
    they aren't available on a pay per view basis.

  • Subtitles when renting movies with Apple TV Take 2?

    Does anyone know if subtitles will be available when renting movies via iTunes and Apple TV? Besides, I wonder if local films/TV shows will be available?!

    We're not really sure as yet - there certainly seem to be no comments on subtitling as a feature.

  • (I-Pad) I have rent a v film and received a message that the movie will expire in two days but can't close the message window anymore, hence I have no access to any other program on the I-Pad anymore

    I have rent a film and received a message from I-tunes that the film will expire in two days. Even though I have confirmed the message by pressing ok the message window is not closing anymore, hence can't use anz other program of the I-Pad 2 anymore. Does anzbody in the forum experienced anything similar? If yes what is the solution to it?

    Quit all apps and restart the iPad. Then try the video in the video app.
    Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    If by some chance you cannot go to the home screen, force quit iTunes by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears. Let go of the sleep button and then press and hold down on the home button until iTunes closes. Then restart the iPad as described above.

  • No Dolby 5.1 surround sound on BT Vision Films/Box...

    I've had a BT YouView box since the launch in October last year and was disappointed at the time that dolby had yet to be enabled and had to wait a couple of months for this to happen, however ,I have been enjoying BT's selection of HD films with full 5.1 dolby surround sound, but have noticed that Dolby has now been removed!?
    So BT now expect you pay full whack to watch an HD film with no surround to go with it? I am a bit of an audiophile so do appreciate quality sound when watching movies. I am now forced to rent BluRay movies so that I can get proper surround sound. BT have confirmed that they are aware that Dolby is no longer provided and other than telling me their software technicians are working on it, they have been unable to confirm when this will be rectified.
    I feel a bit ripped off having signed up to YouView with a view to enjoying Dolby 5.1 and once again I'm having to pay for something I am not getting. Does anyone know what is happening?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yes, I have noticed that 5.1 has vanished ..... one (but only one) of the reasons I switched from the new BTvision box & software to Youview was to get 5.1 back.
    I hope BT are going to tell us in a crystal clear fashion (very soon maybe) that it is back !!!
    They will (well I guess may) notice I have stopped watching films via youview since 5.1 vanished, and don't intend to waste any more time looking to see if it's back myself.
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !!!

  • No subtitle after rented a movie

    When previewed the movie it had the Chinese subtitle, however, after rented & downloaded, no subtitle available.  How to select the subtitle then?

    Before you rent a movie, always check if there's a subtitle you wanted.
    If there is, hold down the center button of the Apple Remote, and the scene selection, subtitle selection and audio selection (some movies) would show up, navigate to "subtitle" and you should see it.
    Thanks.

  • What happened to the "NEW" category in Vision Film...

    Every week I used to be able to check out which new films had been added to the Film Club list but now, the "NEW" link on my Film Club page has gone missing. Has anyone else noticed this? It's still there in the Box Office.

    Already being discussed in another thread.  Several of us are very annoyed with it.
    BT want to up their IPTV views and were boasting they had so many million views for certain categories.  This has now put me off looking for new films.  I can't be bothered going through every film company so I just look at the TV section each thursday now.
    I also notice they have put on the much heralded Disney films like POTC but there is no disney category.

  • Turn off subtitles in rented movies.

    Do (western) movie rentals from the Japanese iTunes site all have Japanese subtitles permanently attached to them? Subtitle Language is set to OFF in the Playback preferences, and there doesn't seem to be an option anywhere in the player to turn them off. Am I stuck with them? Am I wrong for thinking that's totally ridiculous?

  • I am unable to buy or rent 15 rated films on iTunes

    I'm 15 going on 16, so legally I am allowed to purchase these films, but iTunes won't even let me preview the films I'm interested in, let alone buy them. I pay by debit card, and have no problem purchasing apps and music. Can anyone help me?

    What happens when you try to purchase them? Error message?

  • Rented movies and films don't work with iTunes (no response error)

    Hi,
    recently, I've rented a movie via iTunes but every time I try to watch it there's no response from iTunes anymore and I have to close the application. I've tried updating, re-installing iTunes and QuickTime Player but still no response. Videocard and Directx are also up to date. Same problem occurs while trying to watch  trailers in iTunes Store. Anybody any solution or idea? I have a Windows Vista PC by the way

    I discovered the answer to my own problem and anyone else out there who needs it here it is:  If you have itunes installed on your computer and cd/dvd device is not working do a system restore to a time prior to the dl of itunes.  Check to make sure your cd/dvd works again.  If it does, then all you need to do is make sure your ipod is NOT connected to your computer while you download itunes again.  Should fix the problem.
