Subtotals in ALV report for ALPHA-NUMERIC field

Hi Experts,
I have problem while subtotalling values in ALV report.
I have 8 fields in my fieldcatalog. Now, I have to do the subtotal based on 3rd field having name 'ABC'. This field is having type CHAR & having lenght 3.
Now I wanted to do subtotalling for field 7 & 8 as 'NETWR' & 'MENGE' based on 3rd field.
How we can do the subtotal?

    U can not do sum for char type fields,it will only possible for numaric fields.
    This u can do by program,after populating the output data,do the sums for the required fields in program and append that to output table as last record.Display the last row with differant color.

  • How to truncate the decimals in the ALV report for the quantity field

    I have to display a quantity field and units of measure in the ALV output. If the units of measure eq 'PC' i should not display the decimal places for quantity in the alv output, otherwise i have to display the decimals in the output. How to do this....any help would be highly rewarded. I knew that for this type of cases decimal_o will not work.

  • ALV report for individual fields (urgent...........)

    Hi all,
    using this ZUS_SDN_THREE_ALV_GRIDS program structure i have generated the all the fields from table.
    could you please guide me how to generate the ALV report for splecific fileds from  individual tables.
    if i click in click on grid1 (that is sales header details) we need populate the item details in grid2 and paralally customer details in grid3.
    please guide me how to resolve the issuee..

  • ALV report with internal in field symbol

    Hi Shifu ABAP,
    I have ALV report.
    My problem is when I tried to do sum using the sum icon. I got a message 'desired operation cannot be performed for column 'Dignostic delay'. Is it because I used field symbol, then when I clicked on the column it didn't recorgnise the field.
    FYI.
    1)The internal table for my ALV report is stored in field symbol.
    2)I dont have a problem to display the report.
    3)I had to set 'do_sum' at ALV field category, still doesn't work

    my situation is like this, declare the internal tble
    1) data : begin of itab occurs 0,          
                code like qpcd-code,
                desc like QPCT-KURZTEXT,
              end of itab.
    2) populate the itab like this

    3) take the selected record converted it into new dynamic internal table using field symbol declare as table, now the component of this new table are 01, 02 and 03.
    4) populate the new table with some data, so technically my new table structure will be like this

    1           0          1
    0           0          3
    2           2          2
    5) display the new table in ALV report, in ALV I tried to sum-up each of column.
    6) Question : HOW can I convert the componet 01, 02 and 03 as an integer/numeric field.

    Using the following...
       class MyClass

           MyOtherClass myclass2; // No value
    All number member variables, like myvar1 start off with andefault initial value which is zero. For booleans this is false. Object reference variables, like myclass1, have a null value.
    All local numeric variables are considered undefined. So mylocal1 and myclass2 are undefined. Before you can use them you must explicitly provide a value.
    Finally note that myvar2 will have two values during class instantiation. Initially it will have a value of zero. Sometime later it will have the value of 3. (When that happens is very definitely outside the scope of what this forum covers. If you want to know then ask in the advanced forum.)

         I am binding a table in the context which has some numeric fields. I'm  displaying the same table which has some records for editing purpose. But the problem is that the numeric  field column is being displayed with zeros if it doesnot have any value in it. Can u explain how to disable the zeroes by not displaying them by defualt when there is no value for the numeric field.
