Successfully Burned CD won't pay

Hey Guys,
Is this part of the DRM protection? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for your help.
This could be a dumb question. However, whenever I burn music (that I purchased from ITunes) and create a playlist, it allows me to burn it to an audio cd. However, whenever I eject the cd, and try to play it in a cd player it does not work. I have tried multiple cd players.

it is an audio cd I am trying to burn.
Under preferences, I have audio cd selected. It looks like it will burn fine. Goes through the whole process. But will not play in multiple cd players.

  • Problem: Burned DVD won't start at menu, starts half way through first video

    Hi,
My problem is that after burning my DVD, it won't start at the menu when I insert it in the computer. I get the beachball spinning for a few seconds and then it comes up about a third of the way into the first video. The image is distorted in 4:3 and then it rightens itself.
I have first play set at the menu. Everything tests ok in the build and preview mode. Can anyone help me fix this?
I am so upset because I had successfully burned this DVDs and sent them to the client after testing. The client emailed today to say both DVDs were smashed in the mail and could I please re-burn them. I'm supposed to deliver again at 9 am tomorrow.
    Thanks

Most of us have been in some of the same spots, and with the courier banging on the door, to deliver the final product to the client.
Though you say that you do not do authoring often, it is good to see that you are trying to do all the testing necessary, so that your client gets the best possible product. That is very important, and it shows that you take this seriously. All the more reason to try and help.
Good luck, and do not let the postman mangle the Project this time...

CDs I burn from my itunes 10 on my macbook with snow lepard will not play in the regular cd player.  How do I burn Cds that will pay in a reg old cd player?

When the computer was new, I had the same issue I have now.  It was new and I could not burn to play on a reg cd player. Today, I can not burn to play on a reg cd player. Inbetween, I could not burn to play on a reg cd player.  I keep giving up and then trying months later.
I have recently made the cds that play on the computer.  I have also tried in the last month to make a dvd copy, it played.  I have gone to people's homes and tried the cd's burned in my computer. They are not recognized.  This last round I have only used the cd-r but have tried many others in the past. I am running out of money to keep buying different brands, kinds, etc.  I figured it must be my lac of knowledge and am trying to get some new here.
    Sincerely,

  • Burned CD won't play in car player

I know similar questions to this have been asked, but I have not found a solution that works for me yet. I am burning a CD-R with iTunes, but it will not play in my car player. I have tried burning at different speeds. I have tried 3 different media types (Verbatim, Memorex, generic). None of them worked. I checked my iTunes settings to make sure I am burning an audio CD, and not an MP3 or data CD. I've probably burned 15 CDs to no avail.
I am burning them on a Sony drive. The CDs play fine in my computer. Just not in my car.
My car player is an older player (1996 factory Delco), but it has no problems playing normal CDs. I get an "E20" error message if that makes any difference.
Is it just a matter of trying more media types? Anybody have a media type that they got to work in an older Delco CD player? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I solved my problem. I can't guarantee this will work for anybody else having this same issue, but it worked for me. Since my player is 10 years old, I thought maybe the problem was the newer size of CD-Rs. So I bought some of the older, smaller size CD-Rs (650 MB versus the newer 700 MB). Now I can't be sure that was the total reason it worked, but it now works with these new CD-Rs. They are also Verbatim brand, which I also tried unsuccesfully with the 700 MB size. These Verbatims are not only 650 MB, but also a light blue tint on the bottom, which may also have made a difference. I don't know. I couldn't find any of these older, smaller CD-Rs at any local store. I found them on Amazon and ordered them there. These are the ones I ordered if you are interested.

Again, I can't guarantee these will work for you. There are probably many reasons why iTunes burned CDs won't work in some players.

  • Guidelines for Free Space needed to successfully burn DVD?

I have been struggling for the last three weeks to get a successful burn of an iDVD (7.0.4) home movie using my 2005 iMacG5Power PC, OS10.5.6.
The movie I’m trying to burn has the following characteristics:
Edited in Final Cut Express (3.5), 45 minutes in length, with 10 Chapter Markers, and containing a 50-50 mix of 4x3 and 16x9 video clips downloaded into QuickTime files from a Sony TRV70 (standard Definition) and a Canon HD Vixia HV30. Although the Canon original mini-DV tapes are High Definition, I captured them as standard def in 16x9 format.
From FCE, I exported the edited movie as a QuickTime, self contained “Sequence” movie file which has a total size of ~28Gigs.
I dragged this Sequence QT movie file into iDVD having selected the Version 7.0 Sunflower theme, proceeded to author this theme with JPG pictures, and with inserted favorite iTunes selections. The iDVD movie file fully authored resulted in a 1.8G “.dvdproj” file, and a 3.2G “.img” file.
I have ~52G of free space on my start up drive.
I have not been able to get through a successful burn whether I use iDVD or Disk Utility or Toast 6.0 Time after time I get an error message at the very end of the iDVD process that says: “Multiplexer Error-There was an error during formatting”.
I have tried burning the disc image using Disk Utility and with Toast with similar results, …….after about 4 hours of elapsed encoding time, the process quits and spits out the DVD media at a point that often is involved with writing lead-in or lead-out functions, or something that says no response from hardware.
To check software and hardware functionality, today I spent “testing” all of this by using a random 3 minute portion of the overall 45 minute movie, and produced successful burns with iDVD, Disk Utility, and Toast.
    Question
Is 52 G of free space on my start up drive sufficient for a Sequence QT movie of 28G ?
    Tougher Question
How does one check his original edited FCE movie for potential errors that could affect the final burning process? (I have checked CHAPTER markers for placement, and frame spacing on either side of markers)
The iDVD Project Info pane and Project flow map show no red warnings; I’m well within the size and time guidelines for Best Performance burning on a standard 4.7G DVD-R medium.
Help…..this is getting frustrating. I think I did a great job editing this home movie, but the only way I will be able to show it off, is to have the family sit in front of the iMac!! Up till now, I have burned many one hour home movies using Tiger and iDVD 5 on this same iMac. What’s going on?
    Thanks in Advance,
    BoBo

the less-desscriptive 'multiplexing error' message usually does NOT indicate not enough disk space.
    but ..
    check project
    • no involved file (audio, video, stills) should contain a 'bad character' in its name / | \ . … ; , ; ...
    • no part should be 'audio less' .. e.g. iPhoto slideshows without music can create such an error
    • you need at last 10-15GBs free on internal/if partitioned: MacOs-drive for using iDVD

  • Disk image successful; burn error due to 'ghost' image

I have burned 100s of DVDs successfully. I always burn them from their disk images. My last project took longer because I ran into what I think is an unusual problem.
I created a disk image and burned a DVD, but then decided there were a couple of places where more edits would make a better movie. I went back to my iMovie, made the edits, and opened up iDVD and created another disk image. Both disk images had had the same name, but that shouldn't have been a problem since the first one had been trashed before the second one was created. When I opened Disk Utility to burn the disk, the disk image (which was on my desktop) appeared in DUs window.
However, when I tried to burn from the disk image, the burn failed at the end....so that the DVD played up to the last 3 min of the movie. The message during the burn was something like 'burning disk 5' but that was not the name of my project. The message at the end was that the burn had failed due to error 00000000500--(not sure of the exact number of 0s). The disk was ejected with the burn almost complete.
I had not had this occur before, and I don't know why it happened. I have no idea what or where 'disk 5' is. That is not how I name my projects and have never seen that. The disk image I was burning from had the name of '1995 Part 2' and, after the disk was ejected, that disk image could not be deleted from Disk Utility. It seemed to be referencing some 'disk 5' file.
I subsequently had a successful burn by creating another disk image (found more edits to tweak) and naming it something different so I could be sure to burn the correct one since the other image was still in DU.
This time it all worked, but the first disk image in Disk Utility's window would not delete. I finally got it out by deleting the other one, closing DU, reopening it and finally it could be deleted.
That 'ghost' file for disk 5 still is a puzzle to me. I would like to know if I did anything to cause it so that I can avoid the problem in the future.

Any chance the first disk image was still mounted on your desktop when you put its .img file into the trash?
Thanks! I think you nailed it!
I had tried playing from the disk image with DVD player first and it played fine, but then I decided to do more edits so I trashed the .img file. I forgot that I had mounted it. When I tried to burn the second disk image, Disk Utility must have still used the first image, even though it had been trashed, because it was still mounted.
However, the icon showing when something is mounted was not there.....until after I had made the final image and then I could eject the mounted disk whose path on DU showed that the .img file was indeed in the trash.
Do you think that would have made its name change to 'disk 5' and would that have caused the burn to stop just 3min short of the end?

  • HT1527 Successfully burned my playlist to CD. Tried to print cover for jewel case-cover photo printed OK but playlist is garbled and unreadable.

I successfully burned my playlist to CD.  Tried to print jewel case cover-cover photo printed OK but playlist is garbled and unreadable (prints song tiles/artists on top of one another).  Has worked OK in past-why not now?     Tom

Apple, what about fixing the printing problem?  Jewel-case printouts have highly compressed text on the back - for months and months.  Come on Apple, be responsible people, fix your problems quickly.  No wonder the share price is underperforming.  Investors know that your business requires customers (quaint notion, isn't it?) and we customers are disillusioned and are leaving you in droves.  Windows Surface and Windows Phone8, Android phones and Pads, there are now a usable alternatives to the Apple Ecosystem. I suspect this post will be short-lived, but at least I've let you know that I'm disillusioned.  Are you listening, corporate Apple Inc.? Probably not.

My newly installed burner works fine from i-tunes, except the burned disk won't work in my car CD player. The old burner's work just fine in the car. Please help.

Using my new G5 I have the same problem, which I did not know using my old G4 with an external LaCie burner. The CD-Changer in my car is not able to read audio-cds, also my cd-player in my home hifi-system. The only way to play these audio-cds is (strange...) to put them directly in the main tuner of my car (usually used for the navigation cd), not using the Changer.
Maybe the problem really depends on the quality of the CD-Rs. I have used CD-Rs from Sony (it´s a brand, I think?) and will try Verbatim.

  • Have you successfully burned DVD+R/DL disks with DSP 4?

I'd like to hear from anyone who has successfully burned a dual-layer project to a DVD+R/DL burner using DVD Studio Pro Version 4 and a THIRD PARTY burner (NOT a Apple SuperDrive that came with the G5).
    What drive are you using?
Is it external or did you upgrade the internal drive?
    What media are you using?
Are there any notable problems have you encoutered along the way? Any words of wisdom to share regarding dual-layer DVD projects?
I think an answer to these questions would help lots of readers, thanks in advance for taking the time to respond.
    Cheers!

I have burned successfully direct from DVDSP and Toast
Toast worked for me, but DVD Studio Pro did not.
LaCie had no interest in helping resolve the
problems with DVD Studio Pro. They only wanted
to talk about Toast. I don't use Toast, I use
DVD Studio Pro, so after wasting days back and
forth with LaCie support, I decided, better to
purchase the Plextor PX-750UF that I know and
verified works with DVD Studio Pro. I wish, I
wish, LaCie would have helped me with using it
with DVD Studio Pro, but they said, they do not
provide technical support for third party products.

I found a fix for this, not only firefox but several other networking programs were broken as well (Outlook and IE were ok for some reason) so I reasoned that the Norton uninstall was incomplete somehow - I had done it from the add/remove programs in the control panel. Sure enough that's not enough to release Norton's tentacles in your system, there's an uninstall tool on their website (a whole set of them actually) that managed to carve it out completely and after a restart everything was back to normal. My machines will definitely be Norton-free from now on ... N

MY iPhone added a device successfully but now won't stop searching. Has used all battery  any suggestions

Bluetooth when turned on is always in a discovery/pairing mode. It does not really use that much battery when doing so, but if you want to turn it off, you can do so from the Control Center, an easier way to turn it off. I've never turned mine off, and it does not make a noticeable impact on my battery. I suggest you check to see if there isn't something else that is consuming your battery.

  • Burn Disk Won't Play in CD Player!

I can burn an audio cd in itunes succesfully, however when I try to play the audio cd on my car cd play it won't work....someone help!

Now I have this problem as well. I'm trying to burn an audio CD from iTunes that will play in my car.
At first I thought it was an iTunes purchased music issue, but I tried burning a cd containing a mix of music I've imported into iTunes and purchased from iTunes. Same result. I've tried changing settings, different cd brands with no success.
I have been able to create cd's from playlists for my car in the past, but now all of a sudden I'm having no luck. The burned cd's play fine in my computer and in other people's computers, just not in my car's cd player (tests ok with other cd's).
I've even tried importing a burned cd back into iTunes then burning a disk off of that playlist, with exactly the same result. The cd just clicks in the car cd player.
Hoping this is something really simple, hoping someone can help.

  • Disk burned today won't play on tv; yesterday's does

I have created two very simple presentations in iMovie - title slides, a few images and an audio track. Both presentations are less than 3 minutes long. I burned one yesterday and it plays fine in dvd player. Burned the other today and won't play in dvd player (disk error or the player just ejects the disk). I am using Apple DVD-R 4X disks. I changed no settings between burning the two disks. Have never had trouble with disks not playing on dvd player (same dvd player each time) Any idea what went wrong?

    You
    b should
always create a disk image and burn that to DVD-R. I'm not saying this will solve this problem. Once you've encoded the project, nothing changes and you can burn additional DVD-Rs knowing that you're using an encoded file that did work, and should work in the future.
You could take the successful DVD and create a disk image from that and then burn another DVD-R to see if it will work.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42724
    File/Save As Disc Image...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=164927
This will isolate any encoding/burning issues you may encounter. Once the disc image is created, double-click the .img and burn the virtual disc that should appear on your desktop, using Disk Utility to burn the DVD.
Open Disk Utility (in Utilities folder in Applications folder), click on the virtual disc (not the .img, the one below) in the left-hand window. Click the Burn icon. Your SuperDrive tray will open. Insert a recordable DVD. (DVD-R preferred by me.) Click the Close button. Wait. Then click the Burn button.
-->If the virtual disk selection won't allow you to click the Burn icon, use the .img file instead. This may have changed in 10.3.9 and Tiger.
b Also, you can use DVD Player to play the virtual disk to check your iDVD 5 project before burning to DVD. Launch DVD Player. File/Open VIDEO_TS (Open DVD media... in Player 4.6). Find the VIDEO_TS folder and open that. (The audio folder is for DVD-Audio disks.)

  • Burned DVD won't play on DVD player

I have downloaded a 22 minute video that I would like to burn to a DVD to play in my DVD player.  I have attempted on both DVD-R and DVD+R.  They burn to the disc but will not play on the DVD player.  The error message states that playback may not be available on this disk.  I have used the windows support search to problem solve on my own but have had no success.  I have ensured that I am selecting the CD/DVD player option to utilize the Mastered format.  I have gone into my option and have no filters on.  I have the video format on NTSC since I am from Pennsylvania/US.  I have not tried to burn it on slow or medium speed because it does burn to the DVD without problem it just won't playback on the DVD player.  What do you recommend as my next course of action for troubleshooting.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I would suspect that the video is not DVD Mpeg2 compliant.  Depending on the DVD player, some will play other formats, also.  If there are no video authoring programs on the computer, try Windows Movie Maker (free) to see if the video needs too be converted to DVD Mpeg2 standards.
