"Successfully downloaded" v3 to E60 but it shows u...
I just replaced my battered old E60 with a gleaming new E60 because, despite everything, I still like them.
It came loaded with v2 firmware, but to my excitement Software Updater told me that v3 was available for this handset.
So I gleefully downloaded and installed. Updater told me that I was replacing v2 with v3 and then told me that the new software had installed successfully.
Yet when I checked the phone it was still displaying the same old v2.
I repeated the operation 4 times - the last time with my IT Manager watching to make sure I wasn't insane.
Each time, the same result. An apparently successful download and install of v3, yet the phone stubbornly refuses to display another other than v2.
What's THAT all about?!?!?!?!?!?

it must be an error in the updater, because if your E60 says V2, then it must be V2

Jonellel53796317 I would recommend reviewing the installation logs for the update which is failing to apply. That's one of the confusing things about the App store. The app you purchase there is the Installer.
If you've successfully run the installer then your Mac is on Lion but the last step of the install proceedure deletes the Installer from your apps directory. The App store then reflects that the Installer is not installed on the system.. which is true.
You can redownload the installer from the app store if needed. If the installer is still in the Apps directory then you probably haven't installed Lion yet, just downloaded it.

I have successfully downloaded books to iBooks before but this time it came through with a another language and changed all existing books as well! Any ideas of how to fix? The language is just gobbledygook symbols!
This happened to someone last week. Reboot your iPad: Hold the home and power buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds (keep holding past the swipe to shut down if it appears) until the Apple Logo appears and your iPad will restart.

I successfully downloaded an EPUB book, but it won't let me read it on my NOOK, why?
I borrowed a book from my library's online eBook selection and successfully got it to ADE. After that I finally got it to my NOOK. Then when I opened it it said: Error Dialog User not activated. Is it because either my computer or NOOK is not authorized? If so I already authorized by computer and I'm not sure about my NOOK but it does show up in ADE. Please help!
If that doesn't work , try this (it has a few more extra steps)
1) plug in your nook via USB and delete the digital editions folders.
2) properly eject and unplug your nook from your computer.
3) uninstall ADE and then reinstall ADE from the website (surprise! there is a 2.0 version out there...this is the underlying issue, i think)
4) delete any library books from ADE but don't return them (right click on the books and say remove from library don't use the return feature. if you return them, you'll have to reborrow. deleting them doesn't do anything except dissassociate them from ADE. i read somwhere that the next step wipes out the lending info from ADE, so i did this just in case that meant it would return my items. this step may be entirely unnecessary, but better safe than sorry).
5) once you open the new version of ADE, hit control+shift+d. it will ask you if you want to erase your previous authorization FOR YOUR COMPUTER. you do, so say yes. once you remove your previous authorization for your computer, then go to help...authorize computer. put in your adobeID information. this will reauthorize your computer to use ADE.
6) plug in your nook via USB. once you see it appear in the ADE bookshelves, clik on the little gear icon (settings) and click on authorizedevice. it'll reauthorize your nook with the new nook software version andthe new ADE software version.
7) redownload your library books (if you followed step 4) and transfer them to your nook as usual. -
Disabling Minimal Download Strategy from PowerShell but still shows feature as "Activated".
I have an interesting issue with the Minimal Download Strategy feature in SharePoint 2013. I have a script in place which will disable this feature on all sites in all site collections on our Farm. The script has been working fine and we schedule it to run
daily at 8PM so that any new sites that get created will have this feature shut off, in case the person who created it forgot to disable it.
As of recently, I've noticed while the script appears to be working fine, we are seeing that new sites are still showing the feature as activated in the "Manage Site Features" page. If I re-run the script, it shows that the feature is disabled
and won't do anything. The script basically steps through all sites of all site collections in our default web application and if the MDS feature is enabled it disables it. Simple enough.
So why am I now seeing sites that show the feature is Activated even though it is disabled? I've checked this by noting the URL that the site uses and it does not load pages from the "_layouts/15/" location.
The reason we have to turn this feature off on all sites is because we allow external users to access our SharePoint through a secure proxy. With this feature enabled, we have constant problems with pages not loading properly or generating javascript errors.
Anyone have any insight into this?Here is the script we are using. As I mentioned, it works fine. It disables the the "Minimal Download Strategy", however when you go to the site settings it shows the feature is activated.

I am trying to upgrade two MACs to Maverick. I have been successful with My Power Mac but unable to get my Imac to load. I am running Snow Leopard on the Imac. When I go to the App Store it shows that it has been downloaded. Any ideas? Any ideas

A Power Mac is incapable of being upgraded to Mavericks. It is a PPC Mac which can only run versions of OS X up to 10.5.8 and no higher. Any version of OS X higher that 10.5.8 requires an Intel processor to run.
Does the iMac meet the hardware requirements for Mavericks?

I download latest updates for itunes and my iphone, when it comes to installing, it successfully downloads, but then i get a message for iphone software error=1403 file corrupted, and for itunes it downloads, then when i try to install it a message says unable to install software, file maybe corrupted!!
The iTunes update must be downloaded and installed before you try and use it to update the iPhone OS
Download iTunes 10.2.2 from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1103
When it completes it will auto mount the disc image and show you the package installer, don't try and do anything with the file until it gets to this stage.
Once that's installed reboot the Mac, run iTunes, connect your iPhone and let it sync, then hit the update button and let it complete that step by itself (which will require a restart of the iPhone) -
