Sudden account problem with messages account

After a internet connection problem this morning (maybe not related) Messages asked for my account password. I typed it and it was rejected. This is an old account: [email protected] As you see, very old!I went to the AOL web site and could sign in ok. I donwloaded the AOL chat software and created the account. It worked fine!
I deleted the accoount in Messages and remade it. still password is rejected. I deleted it again and tried maing it from the System Preferences Internet account. This time it seems to make the account but then give an Unknow Error message!
Any ideas?

In the Message Received sound drop down have you tried changing the Sound ?
Can you hear it in Messages ?
It should show the default sound (the one from the app), the System Sounds and, if you have any, the User's Sound folder (~Library/Sounds).
To look in ~/Library /Sound open any Finder window and then use the Go menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library from the Menu and navigate to the Sounds folder.
The app plays these sounds when you test and Select them.
However during normal use they are played by System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects like a System Alert.
The Volume selected here has a bearing.
There have been issues reported with the Message Received sound playing during normal use when the app is no longer the app in focus. (not the "front" app)
Changing the Sound seems to help and more so if it is in ~/Library/Sounds.
Can you also use the Open Script Folder and deliberately run the AppleScript from there and have someone text you ?
Most of the above will check the Sound plays and the general Ability for the app to action Messages Received.
However the last paragraph should check out that the Script is working (That Apple Script itself works).

    We have a tenancy DirSync connection a small number of staff so that they can have access to SharePoint, Visio and OneNote Online. When one such user logs onto the http://[groupsite].sharepoint.com site on his Windows 7 PC with Office 2013 installed,
    he can access the site successfully. He might then open a OneNote file online. However, if he was to then click the "Open In OneNote" button from the toolbar, and clicked "Yes" to the Microsoft OneNote Security Notice:
    "Microsoft Office has identified a potential security concern. This location may be unsafe".
    ... and then sign in with the same account to this box
    ... and then enters his correct credentials into the next "Sign In" window, it returns with the following message:
    "There is a problem with your account. Please try again later".
    Finally, the following message is returned within the MS OneNote app:
    "We couldn't open that location. It might not exist or you might not have permission to open it. Please contact the owner of onenote:https://[groupsite].sharepoint.com/sites/....one#SharePoint Team Site for more information."
    The user has reinstalled MS OneNote 2013 on the PC with no change. We have also removed all cached credentials from within Windows Credential Manager and rebooted with no success. The user can access all web-based resources such as SharePoint, OneNote and
    Visio, and he can open web-based Visio files locally on the locally-installed Visio app with no issues. This problem is specifically experienced when opening an online version of OneNote locally on a  PC that has either MS OneNote 2010 or OneNote 2013.
    Any assistance that you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

    My Windows Account is already used to log into OneNote. It is the same Windows Account used to log into, and access online, the SharePointOnline, OneNote Online, etc., services. I tried, indeed, to sign out from my account within the client-version of OneNote
    but it returns the message "We can't remove Windows accounts".
    Again, this is the only account that has been used with this installation of OneNote, and it is that which has been uploaded by way of DirSync to Azure. It works for online versions of OneNote items, SharePoint and Visio, and for VisioOnline-based files
    that are opened within the local client-version of Visio. When trying to open the OneNote Online notebook within the local client-version of OneNote we get this issue.
    I have reinstalled Office with no success.
    Any help that you can provide in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

  • I used a prepaid Visa card on ITunes. The card no longer has money on it. It keeps telling me that there is a problem with my account (it's out of money).

    I do not have a regular credit card. I used a prepaid credit card on my ITunes account for a little while, but now the prepaid card is out of money. Every time I try to download new FREE apps, it says there is a problem with my account and that I need to put in new card information. There is no option for selecting none. I tried deleting the old information and entering it as a blank. It will not accept it. Every time I try to download free apps, it comes back with the account information page, and then I can go no further. I cannot even download an update to my IPad from Apple. Help!!

  • Problems with Merging Account

    Hi Experts,
    I have 2 problems with merging accounts:
    1) Opportunity is not moved from source data to master data. I do not know why. Central BP is changable.
    2) Contact Person is only copied, not moved. This causes problems later on when we want to delete the source data.

    First of all: Thanks for answering my thread!
    The problem with opportunities in my system is, that they are not merged at all, not even with the batch job. I checked trx. BUSWU02. Node CRM370 is assigned to variant CLEAR_REP.
    Also the central Business Partner in opportunity remains changable, once the opportunity was saved.
    Anything else I have to check??

    I had Windows 8 installed on my corporate laptop till last week and as the OS crashed, I have re-installed the system with 8.1 and it has Office 2013 installed with my corporate ID. It is signed in Corporate credentials by default. But when I am trying to
    use Switch Account option and trying to login with my Microsoft ID to sync my notebooks, it throws an error : "There is a problem with your account. Please try again later".
    Note that My Microsoft is active and i am able to access the pages online.

    From the description I understand that you're having problems signing into OneNote 2013 with your Microsoft account and that it's giving you an error: "There is a problem with your account. Please try again later". You mentioned you are able to
    access the pages online.
    Could you please try the following:
    Check if you are able to login to other office apps with your Microsoft account.
    Check if you are able to login to the OneDrive app using your Microsoft account.
    Try emptying all saved passwords from the credential manager:

    Although this link applies to Windows 7, the process is the same in Windows 8.

    Ok.  Found something that said to shut down and hold the option, command, p, and r keys on restart.  Held them down for a few restarts and everything automatically signed in and works.  Woohoo!!!

    Delete the account.
    Add the account back using the correct settings.

    IIRC, Hotmail is like Yahoo's free email - you have to pay for POP access.
    If you aren't paying for a premium version of HotMail, it won't work correctly with VersaMail.
