Sudden airport problem - due to new networks in the building?

I've been using my airport extreme network for some time, without any problems. My macbook suddenly stopped recognising the network - although my iphone and other computers continue to use it without any problems.
The network name no longer appears in the drop down Airport Extreme menu, although several other networks in the building do.
Strangely, this seems to have occurred just as several other people have moved into the building and set up their own, new, non-airport extreme wifi networks.
Is there anything I can do to force my macbook to re-recognise my own wifi network? I've tried clicking "other..." on the drop down menu and then typing in my network's details, without any success.
Switching everything on-and-off hasn't helped either.

Just spoke with Cisco about the router. They said the router is compatible with the E1500. They suggested that I contact Apple to see if their default IP address was that same as the router (192.168.1.1). They told me I would have to change it if that was the case. How would I do that?

I have both a simultaneous dual band and a regular dual band airport extreme on an extended network will the 5ghz work at its full potential if its the one that is extending the network?

I have a A1143 model Airport extreme with dual band capabilities but not simultaneous, i'd like that to run on the 2.4ghz band, while i have a A1408 model airport extreme as the "extender" but i want to make sure that even though im running the 2.4 and the newer model is extendeding it, my simulataneous dual band will still work to its full potential (ie: 300mbs i think is the max for the 5ghz)..?
notes: no i can't use the newer model as the primary and the older model as the extender.

I am assuming that your simultaneously dual-band Extreme is using the same Network Name for both radios. If that is the case, and depending on the distance between AirPorts, the extending Extreme is most likely just extending the 2.4 GHz radio. That would leave the 5 GHz wireless network basically "untouched."

Using an Airport Extreme with my AirPort Express as a new network?

I am looking into buying an airport extreme as a replacement for a Netgear router that does not seem to work. I have an Aiport express already.
So let me see if I can get this straight...
I can have 6 computers (all PCs) connected (and a couple other devices like a TIVO) all connected to an airport extreme base station to the internet and 1 airport express set as a remote base station. All devices will be able to connect to the internet (3 computers plugged in via Ethernet on Airpot Extreme) and share printers/files/etc? Is there a limit to the number of computers that I can have (even if i am extending with an Airport Express?
I would appreciate any help steering me in the right direction.

Yes you can do all those things.
There is a limit on the total number of connections but it is very large.
The Airport Express can be used in a number of ways.
...For music only - which is not a problem.
...Or as a wireless relay - using something called WDS. In this mode you can connect further computers to the ethernet port of the Airport Express. Or extend the wireless reach of the network.
If your ONLY use for the Express is to connect a computer, its probably better to get a wireless card for it.

No longer able to print due to new network provider. HP Deskjet 3050 J610a, Windows Surface RT.

4 months without a printer and i am supposed to be running a small business, please help.
Change of internet provider & i can no longer print using usb or wireless.
Print report states network offline; no activity connection, url 0.0.0.0; admin password not set.
I have run diagnosis and fixing tests.
I have tried pressing the push button on printer whilst pressing the WPS on modem.
I am unable to add modem via Control Panel having put my phone code in.
I have the HPSoftware on the cd but my CD\DVD external drive is not compatible with this pc/tablet.
I can't download the software as it states it is not compatible with windows surface RT
I have tried everything with and without the usb lead
I may have uninstalled software so i checked to see list of installed programs and apparently i don't have any programmes installed on this pc (surely not)!
I have been trying to find where i can change/add connectivity settings to maybe enter the PIN number of the printer but am unable to find how.

I worked for HP but now I'm retired!

Combo of 2 problems due to new server at ISP which they deny.

My co-op ISP is playing havoc with a new server, and we've even been without phone service several days for many hours at a time. They deny anything to do with the current death of my Firefox browser even though there were no problems until they started trying to make improvements.
At this point I can finally get Internet Explorer to work but don't like it and do suspect that the new server may be skewed towards that browser. I also had many bookmarks on Firefox that had not yet been imported onto IE and I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY FF BOOKMARKS which I fear will happen if I simply try to install a new version of FF.
So my actual question becomes: Is there any way to install a new FF browser without losing my old FF bookmarks which had not been transferred to IE before the series of unfortunate events?
If I can preserve the FF bookmarks, I won't mind installing a new FF browser or, of course, restoring the old one which now refuses to load.

What is the actual problem that you are having. Re-installing Firefox will often not fix problems.
If you re-install Firefox it will use the same profile data such as bookmarks.
If you want to backup and restore your bookmarks see the [[backing up and restoring bookmarks]] article.
You mention bookmarks refuse to load, you may have a problem with the file that stores bookmarks, this site may be of use - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite

I don't remember on old password for my airport network (I don't use it until nom). I want to use my airport to connect my powerbook to internet but i am blocked by this password.

This error comes up due to number range problem in the
tables.
As you have said this is a third party Sales order, just check if this is relevant to the PR being generated or the Sales order getting created.
Check the Current number of the PR document type in the EBAN table & check if it is the same for the Number ranges in customizingin OMH7.
If they are not the same... & the current number in OMH7 is smaller than the Number in the table EBAN , you need to change the current number equal to the EBAN table.
If this is the case fior sales orders similarly check for Sales order table & sales order number range object.

AirPort Menu not showing other networks except the one it's connected to.

AirPort menu is strange indeed. Only for the first time, it shows the list of all available networks.
Now I cannot see any other networks. Is this a bug or something?

Problem with adding new field to the mass change screen in FBL5N

We have a problem with adding the field XREF3 to the mass change screen. We followed steps described in the SAP Note 640908, but the result is that when we try to mass change some documents in FBL5N and enter some values in the mass change screen, a message appears: "Please enter at least one new value" and nothing is changed.
If you have faced with such a problem, we would be grateful if you give us some tips.

The problem has been resolved: we didn't activate a code in SE80.

I changed my apple ID email address and now all my devices are signed in under the old apple ID, but it wont let me change the icould account on any without a password. The problem is my new password for the new apple ID won't work or the old? help!!!!

Help me!! I changed my email address associated with apple Id. Now ALLLLL my devices (iphone, mac, ipad) are associated with old apple Id. But It won't log out or delete the old one without having a password. Neither the old passowrd or the new password works. Now nothign works. Please help me!!

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iCloud on your devices after updating your Apple ID. I recommend the following steps:
Symptoms
iOS 7 may ask for the password to your previous Apple ID when you sign out of iCloud.
Resolution
1. Use your current Apple ID password
Trying using your current Apple ID password. If that doesn't work, continue to the next step.
2. Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
If you are currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
If you are not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.

Is the new carrier you're using an official iPhone carrier? Apple warns that not all features of an iPhone will be available when using an iPhone with a non-supported carrier.

I've an iMac with OS X 10.4.11. Sudden email problem: every received email has, after the header, 1 - 2 pages of technical data (e.g., Dkim-Signature, Domainkey-Signature, etc.) I don't know why this now happening, and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Beginning several days ago, all incoming emails have, after the usual email header and before the message appears, one to two pages of technical data (e.g., Dkim-Signature, Domainkey-Signature, Content-Transfer-Encoding, etc.). This is similar and more complex that the info one receives when an undeliverable email bounces back. I don't know where this stuff comes from, or how it came, and I don't know how to get rid of it. Any ideas? I'm something of a newbie to computers (um, what's a Tag?).

That just sounds like the mail headers. Most people don't know (or care) about them so they're usually hidden.
Check Mail -> Preferences -> Viewing -> Show header detail
I'm guessing it's set to 'All'. Switch it to 'Default' or None as you prefer.

Problem using Airport Express to extend wireless network.

I'm trying to extend my wireless network with an Airport Express (brand new, bought last week), but can only seem to do so by connecting it via cat5 to the router, which doesn't actually extend anything. I have a Linksys WRT54GS with DD-WRT, and want to have the Airport Express in a different room so cat5 isn't an option.
I'm using WPA2 Personal security on my network.
I've tried to follow several sets of instructions from these forums and on blogs, but the only things I've been able to do are...
1) connect via cat5, selecting "Create a new network" with the same SSID and such, but it doesn't give me any more range.
2) connect wirelessly selecting "Join an existing network", but that doesn't extend the network at all either, even if I put the AE at the edge of the network now.
Thanks in advance. All I really want to do is access my wireless from the other half of my house.

It was possible to create a WDS between the older 802.11g AirPort Express and the Linksys WRT-54GS and this (as you know) has been documented on the Internet. However, I do not know of anyone that has been successful doing so with either of the 802.11n generations.
The two methods that you have tried would not work as neither is the proper method to set up a WDS. Please check out the following Apple Support article for more details. If you are successful in setting a WDS between them, please post back your results.

Can't get my original airport express to connect to new network

I have an original airport express and just changed to a new comcast xfinity router. Airport utility now doesn't see the airport express. Have tried the reset button and still the new network doesn't see it. Am I gonna have to buy a new airport?

Similar situation. Want to use an existing Airport Express on a new network. I did the factory reset. Saw the 4 fast green blinks, and it's now slow-blinking gold. AirPort Utility, however, doesn't see any other Wi-Fi devices. "No remote AirPort Stations discovered." The AE is about 10 feet away from my Time Capsule. My MacBookPro is within 2 feet of the AE and connected to the Time Capsule network.
What next?
